Home Depot's reputation is marked by a mix of positive and negative customer experiences. Many customers appreciate the wide selection of products and the knowledgeable staff, which contribute to a convenient shopping experience. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly related to installation issues, return policies, and delayed deliveries. Customers frequently report dissatisfaction with the handling of complaints and a perceived lack of support, leading to frustration and a sense of being undervalued. Overall, while the company offers a robust product range, its customer service approach appears inconsistent, impacting overall satisfaction.

SHAME SHAME SHAME on Home Depot Management!
No longer giving benefits to veterans unless they have a 'smart phone'. No consideration for those of us with flip phones! It was simple before--show the veteran ID and the benefit applies.
Is Home Depot getting a kick back on cell phone sales now? Why would the ID policy change?
There is no common sense or logic to this change.
AWFUL!
Don't want to give any stars-but this system doesn't allow that either. Had to leave a 1 star rating :(
I ordered a Patio Door online for in-store pick-up, the order took 2 months in arriving at the store, they finally got the door but not the same one I ordered, they asked me if I want to re-order and it will take 2 months more to come, so I decided no to do it, is totally unprofessional and customer satisfactionless. Also 6 months ago I bought a windows replacement service for 6 windows, after 3 months of waiting they came to my house to install 4 windows because they missed 2 windows in the warehouse so they need to re-ordered, now I'm waiting 3 months more to get the final 2 windows left installed. Do you think this is a serious company?, no way, I will never use The Home Depot ever again.
Buyer Beware! Do not purchase appliances from this Store. It's a complete joke how their operations work. They pay some incompetent 3rd party contractor to deliver the product, but they don't record or take accountability if something goes wrong. They pass you along to the next person to talk to and completely waste your time/energy. Do yourself a favor and buy from Lowes for some other appliance Store. Home Depots' Operations are full of blunders!
I have bought three Torro Lawnmowers there with extended 3 yr warranty. I call them when it stalled out. I have to go to bathroom turned off the lawnmower. Come back out and it will not crank back up. Is is a 21" Self-propelled lawnmower that you don't have to change oil. They told me that since it was under the warranty from Torro to take it to Home Depot to have it fixed I had to pay $40.00 for them to look at it. So I called HomeDepot an told them that I was having to pay the $40.00 just to have them look at it. Some one at HomeDepot told me just to go back and get it and bring it back to the store and they would just give me a new one since in broke with in the first year of buying it. Did the Pandemic I didn't go anywhere plus I got sick so when I have able to walk better that it when I took it. I am disabled have to use rollator or wheelchair to get around. So I went back to The Mower Depot and told them what Home Depot said. So the loaded on my wheelchair ramp and I took it to HomeDepot and the man at service counter was very mean and told me the no one in the store would have told me that that they don't take lawnmowers back at the store except for the first 30 days. That I would have to take it back to mower depot and have them fix it. I ended up having to pay $135.00 to have it fixed. So I will not buy anything from HomeDepot again 2/19/22. I bought the lawn mower 7/14/20
Standing here waiting for someone to help me. Need to schedule someone to measure our living room for carpet but I guess they aren't really in the business. The signs say installed in 5 days… hmmm still no one. We'll I guess I'll go to Lowe's. I just wasted 30 min
Home Depot would not deliver to my house.
Like many in Cambridge, MA, I live on a one way street with on street parking. I also have a driveway. But Home Depot would not deliver my appliance.
The first attempted delivery was aborted because the truck was too big and could not find parking.
After speaking with the Home Depot expediter, we made arrangements for a second delivery attempt and agreed that I would have cars saving spaces for the delivery truck that would then quickly move upon arrival. I worked quite hard to arrange with neighbors to help with this. But, the truck never called, never delivered, and just said they could not delivery to my house. I'm not sure why.
I called to inquire about my order, and was told if I wanted my appliance I would have to come pick it up myself.
I then canceled my order. I will no longer order appliances from Home Depot.
Impossibly bad experience. I ordered 1 washer, one dryer, one stacking kit, installation, 5 year extended warranty.
Waited 1.5 weeks for delivery, at the end of the delivery window I received a call from the driver that the order was damaged. I was on and off hold for over an hour to set up another delivery.
Waited one more week for Delivery Day II, no one showed up. I called Home Depot after the delivery window, I was informed that the delivery was reported damaged again (no one contacted me). No one even called me that they were on the way. I was on and off hold for over an hour to set up Deliver Day III.
Waited almost 2 weeks more, received a courtesy call that the driver would be here in 30 minutes so I went down to meet him because I wanted to see the deliver with my own eyes since that was not an option the previous 2 times. My order was not on the truck. I called Home Depot, I was on and off hold for over an hour. I was informed the "Warehouse Manager" would call me within 48 hours to set up Delivery Day IV. I was told if he did not call to call Home Depot back.
After 48 hours, no phone call from the "Warehouse Manager". I called Home Depot, after being on hold for a time, she came back on talking fixing my order and I said simply let's start with the beginning, why didn't the "Warehouse Mangager" call me? Because we are starting a conversation that I should have had 2 days ago instead of making me wait 2 days from someone that appears was never going to call me. That conversation didn't go anywhere and I was offered to deliver one item and not the other, and I could not place an order yet because it's not in stock but I could place an order in the future. How does my order situation get this bad? I didn't lose my patience until after the last conversation, I was patient for way too long. It starts turning into a game when you are told the "Warehouse Manager" would call you, I ask what if he doen't call?, it's replied "Call us back". It's a different company messing up, Home Depot should be sorting out the problems on my behalf, not leaving it to me and the "Warehouse Manager" that is never going to call me
I order 2 times been cancel
They said no one receivers delivered
$#*!holl LIE, home depot website staff don't know what the real situation in field, they just said $#*!holl excuses, the real one all newyork store have SALT 50 pounds, 2 think they said if no salt in the store just automatically cancel your order, LIE AGAIN.
The 3 person, specially order from Texas home depot just for 7 bags salt delivery to Newyork, how STUPID, MORRON, IDIOTS person you hire.
Finally I went check all 10 store in Newyork, they all have salt, really suck $#*!holl experience with yours websites.
I'm a pro contractor. I ordered 75W LED bulbs from Home Depot online but I was sent 100W which were too bright and unusable. Both the store and corporate said I had to return the items to a store myself though it was their vendor who screwed up, delaying my project and embarrassing my small business. I then ordered the same items from...(Prime)... where I'll get the items sooner and have to spend far less time and effort if there is an error with shipment.
I have left numerous reviews on my local Home Depot store on Yelp as well as sending complaints to corporate, complaining for years about their horrible customer service. Nothing has changed. Home Depot does not care about their customers.
Thats right they called me an $#*! in front of many customers, it was in the rental dept, so I found a great rental company that loves their customers and I am here to tell everyone about them. They ar THG rentals in clearwater fl, family run and better than the crappy non caring home depot clowns. Thanks I am no longer a home depot customer.
Attempted to buy a whole home generator twice from the Uniontown Store in Pennsylvania. Both times we were told someone would contact us and come to our residence to give us an estimate. Both times we heard nothing from them. We also went to Lowes to get a free estimate as well (which was after we went to Home Depot). Well, Lowes called for appointment, already did the estimate, ordered the unit, and by the first week in March, I should have my generator fully installed. Still waiting for Home Depot to call for the free in-home estimate, so I can tell them they missed their chance on this sale (a $9,776.00 sale to be precise). They really need to step up their game in that department, because other than that, Home Depot is my Husbands favorite. Which is the only reason I gave them a few stars.
This is incredible, this store in oak cliff in Dallas, Tx doesn't provide masks anymore, wake up, pandemic still and cases are growing
My LAST ever appliance from Home Depot! I ordered a dishwasher 12/23, with a delivery date of 1/3. This visit the guy comes in & looks at the old dishwasher & goes out to bring new one & says there is something wrong with the new one & they have to reschedule! The next visit same guy comes back & looks under the sink & says it needs a new joint in the pipe, so they have to send a plumber out (why was this not taken care of on the first visit). The plumber came this past Saturday & the joint was replaced, I was told the new delivery date installation is set for January 17th, usually there is a call to confirm the delivery the day before! Last night I went on their site & did a chat to verify delivery, it is scheduled between 7-11 a.m. which means I have to get up at 5:30 a.m. to let the dogs out & take care of morning chores if they do arrive at seven! The chat person gave me a number to call at 6:00 am which I did this morning & was told yes I was scheduled today & I was 4th delivery! Once again I emptied the old dishwasher out took everything out from under the sink & was waiting for the call they were on the way! Oh ya I got a call alright that they had to reschedule AGAIN tomorrow! The appliance was delivered late! So for the 5th time I have to go through this again! Oh yes on the last visit from the guy who was supposed to install it, he said he could leave the new one & have someone else install it--I just want what I paid for complete installation! The plumber they sent said he could have installed it! I wish I would have known he was very competent & polite! I had paid for the appliance, installation and kits to install, for the old one to be removed & extended warranty! I have NEVER had a problem with appliances being installed with other companies! This is ridiculous to have to go through with all this stress since December 23rd, tomorrow is the 5th scheduled appointment! I will be giving a review of that after the visit! VERY VERY disappointed & upset!
I've been a loyal Home Depot customer for years until I had to go to Lowes to get a plumbing fitting that Home Depot didn't carry. While at Lowes I saw the price for a Charlotte 10' 3" schedule 30 pipe was $15. A week earlier I purchased 5- 10' 3" schedule 30 pipe, same brand, at Home Depot for $37 each pipe! Needless to say, I'm pissed and feel like Home Depot is price gouging.
Very bad delivery with incomplete furniture delivered. 0 stars for customer service to resolve the issue and follow up. AVOID online ordering with them
It doesn't matter in which store you are (here in Queens, NY), 95% of the HD's employees -in any Queens store- are there TO NOT HELP YOU. After the ordeal to get help (if lucky) to find what you're looking for, people on the registers are like the worst DMV office you can be in. Slow, clumsy, talking among them ignoring and NOT respecting the customer's time at all. A quite DEPLORABLE store to be honest.
Got this rug today from home depot today. Got it home, unwrapped it and it was totally different from the photo on the package, it also is the wrong color and has a big spot of gray like a big ink stain. I should have known. Be aware of this place.
I placed a order online thinking it would be a safe and fast way to shop. Well I certainly was wrong about that! My order was for two sets of chisels and a small set of saw blades. The order was shipped out from three different places at three different times and the third order never arrived at all! In fact it was delivered to the wrong address which I found out later. The online people said they're going to refund my money and I'll go else where. Infact my shopping experience in the store was even worse then the online one. Someone at the store tried to pick a fight with me which was unprovoked by me. I had to ask another store employee to safely escort me to my vehicle. I reported the incident twice to Home Depot corporate with no results! When the local Home Depot store Manager did finally learn of the incident he provided little to no results at all. Customer safety and satisfaction at Home Depot is zero to these people! In the future Lowes will continue to get more of my business! I already had Lowes install three new doors using a local professional contractor and they did a great job. While you can't even walk in to a Home Depot safely without getting attacked and good luck getting any help
They are very good and they let the price go down so so go there now and get there amazing price it was good
Worst experience ever didn't show up called to find out what happened and all they do is lie one lie after another so who knows when I'll get it.
Answer: Hi Betty, you can also return without receipt if you purchased using your credit card. Give them the same CC and they can tell the price you bought at.
