Many customers appreciate the wide selection of products and the knowledgeable staff, which contribute to a convenient shopping experience. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly related to installation issues, return policies, and delayed deliveries. Customers frequently report dissatisfaction with the handling of complaints and a perceived lack of support, leading to frustration and a sense of being undervalued. Overall, while the company offers a robust product range, its customer service approach appears inconsistent, impacting overall satisfaction.

I have mixed reviews about Home Depot. First ordering online is very convenient. It's the easiest way to find everything you need. Now in store shopping is totally different. Some locations the further out you go have everything but the stores local by me are a mess. Everything half gone or picked through. But in every home depot I have been to customer service has been excellent.
I purchase a Bathroom Vanity on line in Home Depot in my $5000 bathroom upgrade the Vanity came in damage to my apartment on the 20th floor that told me the drawer could be replace now I find out the unit is discontinued and I can't replace the damaged drawer DONT BUY NOTHING ON LINE IS ALL A SCAMM TO SELL YOU DAMAGED PRODUCTS.
The purchase was fine. The delivery was horrible. The guys said they'd be right back before unwrapping my dishwasher and instead drove off. I never even signed for it. They sent me an electronic receipt that under signature says covid 19. DO NOT get anything delivered from Home Depot. I now have no way of returning a damaged appliance. The sheer amount of anger I feel right now... this cannot even be legal.
Ordered 4 windows in September 2021, 3 was in installed in November and the last one in middle of March 2022. They made mistake after mistake starting with the salesman placing one of the window's incorrectly.
Home Depot could never ever do a project in my house again. This was once a company that cared for their customers and now it's about coming to work for a paycheck. Without us they could not collect a check. I called so many times for updates and was promised a call back. I even received at least three emails asking me to signoff on a blank request so they could reorder my one outstanding windows. I let them know that I will not sign a blank page since it also stated I was making changes (which i wasn't) and they could charge me. It took four times just for the saleman to send me the correct document to sign-off on. I even wrote to the home office about my experience while it was going on and never got a response back. So as you can see this type of disrespect starts at the top and works it was down. Maybe to Home Depot my $$$$, did not mean much but to a person on a fixed income that is a lot of money. And to think before this happen I was thinking of using them to remodel my bathroom. Not in this life time.
I recently placed an online pickup order making sure that everything I wanted was in stock at the store. When I get to the store half my order was there, and the other half was being shipped to me. Screw me once. I tried to cancel the entire order but because they had somehow managed to sneak the home shipment in on me they could only cancel the stull in store. Screw me twice. Now, in order to get my money back on the delivery stuff I had to wait to get it all (shipped from different places at different times) and return it to the store. Screw me three times. I wanted to pick up and use everything that day. I had had a hard time placing the order on line but thought I was successful after several attempts. AT NO POINT did I see anything about home delivery as again, I had to substitute one item I wanted for another because the one I wanted was not in stock but the substitution had to be shipped to me. Now to rub salt into the wound. I am a disabled American veteran, and enjoy my discount which Home Depot recently changed getting access to. The day before I was told that I had to download the app. Lowe's does not make you do that; they use your phone number. Still, I downloaded the app and was trying to use it to get my discount but could not find anything on the app that showed it. The lady behind the counter was upset with me because I did not know how to pull it up but neither did she! Screw me the fourth time! They forced us to get the app and then get mad at us for not knowing how to use it when even they do not know how to use it?!
I am a regular customer at Home Depot with mixed feelings about this company. Although online shopping makes it easy and convenient for me, their in-store shopping experience has not been so favorable. Seems hit or miss with certain locations, especially when it comes to selection and customer service. However, when I do visit their stores, they usually have what I am looking for.
AVOID home depot
RUDE managers. They take NO responsibility for their action.
I paid thousands of dollars (yes Thousands of dollars) for a project, they damaged my home ( all electrical wires exposed) job not done.
When I called the manager, she said, " you have to pay for it"
I said so you get ******* dollars, do not finish the project and I have to pay more money?
She said" yes"
I am 72 years old and sometimes I need help with heavy items. Its been a very long time since this store offered any assistance. Also, I was in there a few days ago and did not bring my card and all the self help registers are set up for card only so I went in search of a register to make my purchase. Only one register was open and it was in the contractor section with a huge line reaching into the mid store area. So if I wanted to pay cash for my purchase I was going to have to stand in a line full of contractors making large purchases along with other customers that were forced to use this means of checking out with their purchases. I wonder how many other customers abandoned their purchase and left the store that day. Not a good way to do business Home Depot! Ohyeah, and do not blame that kind of incomprtance on Covid because I am getting tired of hearing that excuse.
Ordered 27cs of flooring. Was lied to from their delivery service on the first try. Second try was a total fiasco! Two gringos who could hardly speak English almost dumped hundreds of pounds of wood flooring on themselves while trying to unload it off their truck.
Carefully check any wood that is tongue and grooved mostly the beveled I believe in my 40 years in wood business material quality has gone down but the price of course as gone way high I have to run a router and make the grove the same been better off buying from a hometown saw mill will now on
The store associates filled out the order form with wrong product coding in Tewksbury, MA store.
I am trying to return my money and, most importantly, my TRUST.
Was it done on purpose? The store manager refuses to understand the situation saying that "that what I signed in the order"
Wanted to buy a Honda mower that was not in stock at the local Hilo Hawaii store. Went to the store with cash in my pocket. The associate at the order desk wasn't sure how to do the online order and called a manager. The manager informed me that they would not be able to ship the mower to Hawaii. When I asked why she stated because the engine had gas and oil in it. Furious and frustrated, I drove home, twenty miles away, and attempted to place the order myself. Within five minutes, my order was placed. I had never placed an order with Home Depot online before, and I'm not even a "manager." Within five days UPS delivered the mower to my home, free shipping! Use caution when talking to anyone at Home Depot about anything that is important to you because believe me, it's not important to them.
My salesman Harry in the flooring department was so helpful in helping me pick out padding and rugs. He suggested me to upgrade the padding which I did. The rugs and the padding are beautiful. Excellence service he gave me
The manager Bill also came over my house to attach the mirror from my bureau and put it back on. I was very grateful for that and also moved some of my furniture back a little in its place. Excellence place to shop. I highly emend Home Depot. Thanks Mrs Jacobsen
Lots of employees constantly walking around, but nobody can cut carpet and linoleum... I asked for assistance and was told: "It will be a minute; I am the only one here!" My thought: "Wow; I probably passed 20+ associates, on the way back here and none of them can/will help!?!" I waited and received no assistance; so I left without what would have been a couple thousand dollar purchase! I will go elsewhere from now on; for all my construction needs! I invest a lot of money into construction products and I feel like there is no customer appreciation! Clearly; there's no assistance!
Unfortunately they tried to waive my delivery fee of $79, when all reality I lost $1000 plus the cost of the materials. So I am out $2000 because there was an issue with the delivery driver. Obviously you guys don't care about customer service or you wouldn't have such a low rating. I've spent thousands upon thousands of dollars with Home Depot. You've lost my business now good job!
You CANNOT rely on Home Depot to deliver and install major appliances. Home Depot contracts with J. B. Hunt Transport Services, and J. B. Hunt subcontracts with local sketchy companies that hire non-skilled labor. The problem is that the laborers sent to your home do not know how to install appliances, and so it's just a sham and a waste of a day. We have now had this happen twice, and never again! This time we placed an in-store order for a washer and gas dryer from the Clifton, NJ Store for delivery and installation. We ordered all the parts - hoses, kits, everything, in addition to full installation services.
But right from the start, when the plain white moving truck arrived (early, not according to schedule, ignoring the "arrival window"), the 3 laborers made all kind of excuses about how they couldn't do this or that. It was obvious that they wanted to find a way to avoid having to install the appliances -- and it was because they lacked the skills to do the job. Why send these "moving guys" to our home for a washer/dryer installation? First, they said they didn't have the tools they needed. Then, when we lent them the tools and essentially did part of the installation prep, they said that a plumber was needed for the dryer. Then we asked if they could install the washer, they said no, and showed us that the washer door didn't latch. But we could not tell if the HE washer door didn't latch because it was not plugged in. They were just trying to rush us, rush everything, say it couldn't be done, and take off to their next stop. Many times I had to ask if they would please wait. No waiting. The truth is they were just movers, and they were not trained to install appliances. Since they couldn't do anything, they put our new appliances back on the truck and rushed off. And they just were going to leave our old washer on the curb had I not said anything. Why does Home Depot inflict this upon its customers? Why waste half our day by sending us these "moving guys" who do nothing but rush into our home trampling dirt, snow and salt inside and ultimately do nothing? And to add insult to injury, we now have to wait 7-10 business days for a refund to be credited back to our credit card. I'd like everyone to know that Home Depot reps apologize, but Home Depot just doesn't care. We've experienced these problems with delivery and installation twice now in two years (first time it was a range oven). I've learned that nothing changes. Save yourself a lot of trouble - don't deal with Home Depot for major appliances.
The Home depot has terrible customer service. I have had to return items and the staff is rude. I am drowning in debt and was unable to pay off the balance due. Good night and Good Luck!
THIS COMPANY DISERVES 0 STARS.
November 9th i ordered a frigde and oven. First it said it would be delivered November 26th. Then it jumped too February 4th then on February 3rd they called us and said sorry February 5th. Then February 4th comes and they say sorry its pushed back again to February 26th. February 25th they call me and confirm both applinances was going to be delivered for sure. Then 26th come and they come and they deliver the fridge but not the oven. So i call them again they said oh sorry we put a hold on it because they didnt check the order number and so now it got pushed back to March 5th. We spoke to a manger they also confirmed it would be delivered march 5th. I called them yesterday the 4th they said yup it will be here between 12:30-4:30pm the 5th. So my gut said call an double check because of all the issues we have had. Well today the 5th they told me ohhhh they didnt put you on the schedule so no its not being delivered today now there saying it will be tuesday march 8th. And to be honest i dont believe it will be delivered that day either. Im sure it will be pushed back again since no one knows how to do there damn job. Mind you its been 4 months of dealing with this bull$#*!. And not even the managers know what there doing. If you dont want to play games with this company then dont get appliances through them because there fast to take your money but wont deliver the appliances. So yeah never using this company again.
Home Depot Customers, Menards and Lowe's Customers STOP buying lumber, and you'll Drive the prices down. 200-300% lumber markups are the new norm if we don't curtail buying demand, at least for several months. There is a choice and we've chosen to put off building our garage.
Delivery technician couldn't do a basic installation so he left the our new fridge in the middle of our kitchen, the installation job was outsourced, we waited around for a week for them to call, never did despite my repeated calls into HD asking them for visibility on the follow up appointment. They have a 72 hour business day SLA for someone to call, no SLA on an actual appointment time, so in these situations you are the mercy of whomever they subcontract. I had no working fridge so I finally hired a plumber to come install the water line. It took him 10 min - there was nothing complex or unusual about the job. Call Home Depot to come take the old fridge and they no show on the pickup, despite getting confirmation from two HD reps they spoke to the driver coming to my house. Call back and they have no appointments for weeks. Between the date my fridge was delivered, and supposed to be installed and the old one taken away, I've spent over 15 hours on the phone with them. They didn't even install the handlebars on my new fridge. The customer service is absolutely terrible, and the installation folks are completely incompetent. Over the next year I'm fully renovating and will be purchasing all new appliances for my home including a washer, dryer, stove, dishwasher, etc. but this experience has been so bad Home Depot has lost my business for good.
Answer: Hi Betty, you can also return without receipt if you purchased using your credit card. Give them the same CC and they can tell the price you bought at.
