Unresponsive customer service

Unresponsive customer service. Hertz rented me a vehicle with over 55,000 miles on the odometer. During my rental the key fob became inoperative and would not unlock the doors. The lock cylinder for the physical key was also broken. I could not unlock the car. I was stranded at a remote location with no cell service after completing an 85 mile backpacking trip. The vehicle also had no spare tire. Hertz Customer Service has been unresponsive to my request for customer satisfaction. (Rental Record # *******)

I went to pick a car up and they got the key out of a bag that said dirty cars the car stinks I paid over $50 a day for an suv they gave me a little wagon and said it's an suv I called the customer service number the dont even car and refuse to help I'd walk 600 miles b4 I rent from this company again

Hertz poor customer service and response

Rented a car from Hertz, and they asked me for a review so I gave it. Car was rated as a midsize suv, comparable to a Nissan Rouge. They gave me a Chevrolet Trax which in my opinion is nowhere near a mid size. Much much much smaller than the Nissan Rouge. That said, the car had several scratches and dings all over it. I left Hertz a review and checked the box requiring a reply from them and not a word. I will never rent from Hertz again.

Roadside assistance did not show up or even call after waiting downtown 2 hours in 18* weather at 11pm. Hertz wanted me to change this rental's flat or they'd send out roadside for an extra $75. I argued with the agent that I should not have to replace this flat tire. I'm 5', 120 lbs, even I could not fit under that van to remove the donut. It was so complicated to replace the flat on this caravan! Then they have the audacity to charge me an extra $47 bcuz I left the flat tire in the van when I returned it. I am very disappointed with Hertz, I would not recommend renting from them again after this problem.

Watch them, they are not trustworthy

I purchased a rental from a 3rd party with damage protection. I go to the airport to pick up the rental advised the agent the rental was paid for with damage protection. I was told I had to put down major credit card for a $200 deposit, totally unaware the agent charged my cc $352 for damage protection, AGAIN. Now I am going through a major traumatic life experience however this is no excuse for me not checking what I am signing for. Regardless of the situation, HERTZ should not have billed unwanted, nor needed charges to my cc. I am still trying to recover. Please do not rent from HERTZ. When I tried to recoup immediately, I was told old well call our corporate office and complain. The agent was very unprofessional! I will not rent from them again.

Doesn't look like much when you walk past, but I was practically dying of hunger so I popped in. The definition of a hole-in-the-wall. I got the regular hamburger and wow… there are no words. A classic burger done right. Crisp bun, juicy patty, stuffed with all the essentials (ketchup, shredded lettuce, tomato, and pickles). There's about a million options available between the menu board and wall full of specials, so it can get a little overwhelming, but you really can't go wrong. Not much else to say besides go see for yourself! You won't be disappointed.

I had terrible experience but i went after hertz. First thing gave me a car and the tire kept loosing air. I finally gave it back to them to get another car and they try to say someone was smoking and try to charge me 400 dollars. They also went into my acct and took the money out I had no receipt I consider that stealing. The insurance had paid for the rental. But not the 400: dollars. So I wrote to hertz and got in touch with the better business bureau. And they agree to give me my 400 dollars back. I did receive it back but I will never rent a car from them. What a nightmare. Disappointed

I attempted to call Hertz two times prior to arriving at LAX because our flight was going to arrive later than expected, so I wanted to make sure we were guaranteed a car. No one decided to answer. Once we got there, I stood in line for about 10 minutes as people walked passed me and acknowledged I was there, but didn't take care of me. After that, was told to go to lot 3 and no one was out there. It was also 830 at night and dark. Finally found someone who told us to just choose whatever car we wanted and to drive to the exit. They did NOT complete a damage inspection on the car prior to leaving, so I took pictures myself. The man told us there would be a sheet to fill out at the exit. There wasn't. I tried calling again 3 times today about if there is a shuttle to get from Hertz back to the airport. No one answered. This is extremely frustrating and unprofessional. I will never rent from here again.

I went to the Hertz on US 135 in Greenwood Indiana. The Manager Assoiciate, Melody, lied about her title, stating she was the Manager of the location. It turn out she is just a Manager Assoiciate. Besides lying to us, she was very rude and kept interrupting my husband and I when we were having a private conversation on how we wanted to deal with the situation at hand. I will never rent from this company again. After experiencing this terrible customer service I know why this company went bankrupt while a Enterprise is thriving because of their customers forward approach. Just save yourself time and grief and go with Enterprise.

We rented a car back in Dec. 2021 and when we drove off it reeked of body odor and cigarettes. We had the car less than 24 hours. We returned it the next morning because it was gross. They charged me $1617. 19 for the 2 week reservation. We got on it and were later told they would refund us $1517. 19 and charge us only $100 for the night. Ridiculous?! YEP! It's gets better. They only refunded us $1400. 39. I've been calling and fighting for the $117.19 discrepancy since Dec. I'll end up letting it go, but not w/o a nasty review and a warning to everyone out there. If you have an issue with your rental at Hertz, good luck. You will talk to someone in India and they could care less about you. They will give you reference numbers and tell you they're working on it and it will be escalated and you will receive a phone call in 24 to 48 hours. I've talked to Louis the Jerk 3 times, Javan and Iris and the list goes on. I have 6 reference numbers. It's ridiculous. Right now I'm talking to Iris and she says she's refunding the $117.19 right now. Yeah, RIGHT! Don't rent with Hertz. And if you still do. You've been warned.

I was looking for a pickup truck rental from Las Vegas Airport to Dallas Fort Worth Airport. There was no a availability, so I had to request rental from an off airport site and drop off at a off airport site. Got to the car rental at 5905 W Sahara Ave in Vegas and was told, no pickup truck was available (No one had call or emailed before I took a one way flight to the location), so I had to take an alternate vehicle to get back to Texas. I was told to take it to the Airport and exchange for a pickup truck. I informed the manager that nine was available during my booking. I drove to the airport and the clerk said none was available so I had to drive back to Texas without taking the personal property I originally went to pickup. I called customer service to inform them of dropping off the vehicle at an alternate location and they never mentioned anything about a price changed. Once I turn in the vehicle, I was changed double the price per day since it was returned to the alternate location. Two people was helpful. The Guy"Naju who took the vehicle and the second customer service lady who said she was only able to take the upgrade off the price. Everyone else was of no help. Some need to train or possible fired.

We rented a car from Hertz because that's where in insurance sent us when we were in an accident. We complained that the car smelled like smoke when we picked the car up and were assured that it wasn't smoked in and the smell was from the thorough cleaning that is done between rentals. Fast forward to returning the car. They were busy when we returned the car and told us to leave the keys on the desk and it would be fine. Biggest lie ever! We were charged $600 for cleaning the car because they had to wash and vacuum it. We tried to dispute the charges with them and they insisted we "trashed the car" and that was what they paid to have it detailed. I spoke with the manager of the state of Oklahoma who told me they would refund the difference of what they paid to have it cleaned and what they charged us for the cleaning. He gave me his word that he would call me back in the next 36 hours. That was over a month ago and I've never heard from him. Still no refund. I called the 1-800-gotohell number and they said they would refund the fees because there was no documentation of damage. Ten days later I called again because I didn't have a refund and was assured they would refund the money. Five days later I called to check on my refund only to be told I wouldn't be getting a refund because, get this, the car had been smoked in. They told me there is absolutely nothing I can do to dispute the charge because they can only go by what the rental office tells them. So anytime they want to screw over the customer all they have to do is note that someone smoked in the car. I will never get the hours I spent on hold back and I will never stop telling people how horrible Hertz rentals cars treats their customers.

The camp bowie location is running me around. They charge me $150 a week after I returned my car. I asked them what happened, said I return on the 31st of December. Funny thing me and my wife dropped off on the 30th together. They Charged me for that and on top of that. The guy in camp bowie location said call 1800 number that is outsourced to overseas really hard to understand and they are rude as will. This is just the tip of the iceberg I will never use hertz again I would think twice especially when you have a lot better rentals around

We landed in Oklahoma Thursday eve 8:45 pm for your sons college graduation. We had a SUV rented and even provided our flight locator number. When our family got to the Hertz counter at 8:45 they were closed. We we stuck without any transportation and was 27 miles from our hotel. No one at corporate would answer they were also closed.( we were not the only family left without transportation). HOW COULD THEY JUST LEAVE KNOWING THAT THEY HAD CUSTOMERS DEPENDING ON THEM? We called AMEX the next morning to let them know of our situation. Then after many attempts we were able to talk with a hertz representative who stated the it was our fault. To add insult into injury the conversation was extremely unpleasant. We are furious nd we still have not gotten to speak with a hertz representative. We never received an apology. Now that hertz corporate is relocated to Estero, Fl. I will most probably go there in person. I still want to speak with someone from corporate! Silence is not golden!

Service is horrific we got charged for 2 weeks (we booked for 1) because there system is not ran correctly and they wont give a refund. Customer service the people wont even answer your questions. Last place I will ever rent a vehicle from.

They are scammers

The people at Hertz have been making false claims that I along with other customers haven't returned our cars when we did and threaten to make arrests repeatedly! Always take pics of you returning your car because this place will try to ruin your life to milk some more money out of you.

Change fees and hang up

I told the rental company three times when I was there picking up the car I had to return it to a different location. NOticed today they had the original location so I call to make the change. First I'm told I' can't do that and they want the car back today (a day earlier than I have it rented) and then they say they can do it for an extra $250. When I said I don't agree to that and I'm frustrated, she hung up on me. This is a review of the call center. I will call directly from now on.
