I booked car rental on priceline on 7th May at 1030pm. I called priceline the next day at 1pm to change the driver. They told me i need to call hertz. When i called hertz they told me to call uber.I didnt receive any email or text stating my rental. Hertz gave me the reservation number (K*******A0) to inform uber. They were rude and they asked me to call hertz. By now I was ready to cancel the booking. I downloaded hertz app and was able to cancel. The app told me that my reservation was cancelled. And i look at my credit card hertz charged 268.34$. There is no customer service for hertz in the US, your call gets transferred to china. I called 4 times and all the 4 time chinese call center picked up the call. Never again with hertz or priceline. EXPEDIA is the best.

We booked a car through Travelocity which we paid for and received a confirmation number. When we went to pick up the car we were told they didn't have our reservation. The rude employee did nothing to try and help us and actually told us to move out of the line. We had to pay over $140 more to rent a car through another company. We have contacted both Travelocity and Hertz. Hertz refused to refund our money to us or Travelocity because the confirmation number is invalid. My husband was actually hung up on by Hertz several times. Even doing a conference call with Travelocity. Beware they will do anything to rip you off and be extremely rude while doing it.
Main caller line screwed up my order. After 45 minutes and giving them the new card number they canceled 1 of 3 cars I had rented. Didn't receive a cancellation email or text. Got to the airport and was forced to make a new booking at 60% over original quotes price when I was told my reservation was canceled. Was given different best possible rates by desk agent. Car wasn't ready till 2 hours after reservation. Spent over $4,000 on rental cars and was treated with total lack of care. Won't be using Hertz after that experience.
My family attempted to return home when they received a flat tire and were stranded on the side of the highway at night in bad weather. When they called the emergency line they were told to call 911 and no one was willing to help. They called 911 and a state trooper was able to help and my family was able to drive to the nearest town with a spare tire. When they tried to fix the tire the following day, Hertz told them they had to drive 2 hours in snowy conditions with a spare tire, not to mention a baby was in the car as well. When they tried to just return the car and fly home, Hertz informed them that they would receive more charges and would lose their deposit. Hertz does not care about customer safety!

I reserved a "Compact, 4-5 Door, Automatic, Air (c) Toyota Corolla Aut. Or similar" for 3 days in Norway which would cost USD385 equivalent per the reservation confirmation email. Later the day I arrived at the pick up location at around 1:30pm, half an hour before my booking time of 2pm (which is also the "office close time"). The staff insisted that I booked a manual transmission and made me wait for over 30 minutes so he could serve all other customers "who did not make a wrong book" before handling my case. When it was finally my turn at around 2:15pm, he said there was no small automatic car available and he only had a big one which would cost USD177 more. I had no choice but to take the car as I had to drive to somewhere without public transportation. Moreover, he also charged me USD59 of "out of opening hours" fee, after making me wait over 30 minutes at the location for a "booking mistake" a I did not make! In summary, a total of USD236 extra was charged because Hertz staff lied to me in my face about "having booked a manual car", made me wait past regular opening hours and took advantage of my pressing need to take a car that day. Emailed customer service with booking screen shots, rental agreement number and every single detail and requested a refund. Expectedly ignored.
Rented a car and when I took it, no one even bothered to show me around to show ne any damages. When I return it, they told me that I scratch one if their alloy wheel.The scratch is very tiny and non noticeable and it has been there since I took the car. It is very unfair for charging specially when everyone is struggling at the minute with increase cost of living. I took a video when I started to rent the car but if course apparently they can't see anything on it!

The worst customer service… Gave us a car that smelled like someone had smoked weed in it the last 20,000 miles. Back tire had metal and screws in it and was going flat. When we came in to switch it out, they told us to take it to firestone ourselves. What a bunch of milk drinkers.
Please read this if you're considering renting from Hertz as an Uber driver. This has not only happened to myself, but also a friend of mine who started renting for Uber at around the same time.
I have been renting from them since last year May 2022 and have never missed a payment. Friday (2/24) I brought my car in for maintenance. I had just closed my last contract for $2200 (2 month) and opened a new one on Monday (2/20). My rental car was at the shop for 5 days in total because Hertz took 4 days to approve necessary maintenance. The car was not safe enough to be driven without repairs. They finally approved repairs on Monday (2/27), and I didn't receive the car until Tuesday (2/28) in the late evening. Because I lost those days, I wasn't able to extend my rental on Monday (2/27) like we are supposed to do every week. I went to my rental location and they put a note on my account and asked me to update them the following Monday. On the next Monday (3/6) after I worked multiple 12+ hour shifts in a row, I went online to process my extension until the 13th. $709 was removed from my bank account (a pending charge, like every other extension), addressed to Hertz. Hertz said that the extension couldn't be processed. I went to my location again and they told me that there was nothing they could do and they put a note in the system that said I would return it on the 13th. On Tuesday (7/3), "This vehicle is now being sent to a recovery service at your expense." I called the number in the message and was told that I would "probably" be okay to return it on the 13th still because they wait a few days before they hire the service. But she had absolutely no power do anything about it. She said I should "never do anything online". On Friday 3/10 the $700 rolled back into my account and then Hertz charged me $1140 as another pending transaction. I will not get this money back for at least a week which means now I don't have the money to close the contract when I return it on the 13th.
Also, your contract is linked to your card. You cannot extend with a different card or change payment methods. Which means you can miss an extension if your card is ever lost or stolen. The only way to fix it is to completely close out the contract.
I stopped in the Hertz today to pick up a rental that I had reserved they put me in Altima but I was needing something a little bigger so they switched me out it went from 279 total rent for a week to 361 total rent for the week when the lady told me oh it would be like 50 to $60 more for the bigger car with a little over that and the car that I got is a Ford edge she said it had leather seats it didn't have leather seats not that that meant a big deal but it totally disappointed in this company the car is dirty dirty dirty they claim they have to sanitize them there's been no sanitation in this ride you can see on the dashboard where the dust is still there they did not wipe this car down if they did they half assed sanitized dirty now I'm going to have to go spend money to clean it up I'm not riding in a dirty car can you see out the windows how dirty they are I got pictures too to upload totally disappointed not only that the car has no get up and go I figured you know a newer car should have a little bit more get up and go this son of a gun is no we're as good of an upgrade should have stayed with car they gave me 80$ more I will never rent from hertz again.it's disgusting on how they operate rental cars.should have went to enterprise

We had confirmed reservations (in writing) for an SUV at the Liberia Airport in Costa Rica. When we arrived, we were told that they didn't have a car for us and that they were way oversold! They apologized and said there's nothing they can do. We were left stranded at the Liberia Airport! I will NEVER take a chance with Hertz!
I had been defrauded by Hertz Rental Car's employees Tiffany or Mark or by both of them, at:

*******773. Manager Tiffany and assistant Mark requested my credit card to put in file on about 9/15/2022 when my Insurance Geico made a reservation and paid in full my account for my rental car when my car was out of service.
So, few months letter on 1/27/2023 there was a changed to my credit card saying ($240.00 Hertz at Hollywood).
I right away called Hertz Rental Car and spoke with Mark about those changes? But he told me that my account was closed long time ago and he told me to call the 1800- number. I called, but Hertz customer service told me that I did not own any money that Geico had paid my bill long time ago and to go back to the Hollywood Office to clarify the charges. I went in person and meet with Mark that told me to speak with Manager Tiffany. But, when she saw the credit card records and I told her that I needed to know what those charges are for?
She became very defensive telling me that she can't open my account because my account was closed.
I told her, well, you need to open my account to see who here at your office used my credit card and you were the only people that kept my credit in file, these changes was done just this weekend on Friday 1/27/2023 and today it's Monday 1/30/2023?
"And These It Is Fraud". Why are refusing to open my account?
She told me again, well, I told you, that your account is closed there nothing that I can do.
Call the 1800 number again.
Manager Tiffany was careless and refused to help me. So, these employees had committed fraud with my credit card for the amount of $240.00.
Be awarded of those SCAMMERS at the above address!

I rented a car from Hertz in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada for a total of 9 weeks.
The car broke down during the rental period and I had to take it to a local garage for a temporary repair.
I took the car back to Hertz at the same location to exchange for another car when I returned to Richmond Hill.
I swapped for a replacement car to carry on with the rental agreement.
My credit card was debited the full amount half way before the rental period finished which was unusual. Then the same amount was taken out from my card the day after I returned the replacement car. I was told I would be given an invoice the day I finished the hire but that never came.
I was effectively charged twice for the same rental transaction of the 9 weeks.
Customer Service in Hertz is disgraceful!
The staff at the hire location made no attempt to help me.
The manager there simply gave me their customer billing telephone number for me to file a complaint.
The customer Service and billing information telephone numbers are constantly blocked.
Many attempts later I got through to the billing department and I had to press the person to give me a case reference for the complaint as she was unwilling to comply.
Eventually I was given partial refunds rather than a full refund. I was out of pocket over 700 Canadian Dollars. I pursued this matter further by email with their customer service but no explanation and reason was given why this amount is retained. They simply said that there will be no further refund.
I was made to feel that it was a favour they had done to have let me swap the car for a replacement and that I was able to make use of the car which I paid rent for.
They never refunded me the cost of the repair although I did give them the invoice from the garage. Or have they apologised for the inconvenience of the break down and the aggro the whole thing has caused me.
So you have been warned.
I rented a car from the Hertz in Freeport NY on December 14th 2022 due to a car accident on December 7th. Progressive Insurance company called on Friday Jan 15,2023 Hertz to change the billing to them and to extend my rental. Sunday morning I wake up keys in hand to go to church and the car is no longer in my driveway. I call Hertz speak to not one but FIVE different people and no on can tell me if they came and took the car. I said to the lady will i guess then it might have been stolen should I call the police since you can not give me a answer. Her answer you can do what ever you would like! I called 911 waited for the police to get here and it took them well over 40 min to get a answer that they did come and take the car without a call and without notifying the police department. This was a waste of the Police department time and two and a half hours of mine. I called the Hertz where we rented the car and they said they have no notification on there end that the car was going to be towed. Hence that is why no phone call was made. They tell me to come back in I had another rental number from progressive and get another car so I have to take another day off from work as I have no car and get to Hertz and they inform me that I can not have a rental until they tow the car back to the JFK lot. I ask them how i am going to get my belongings from the car and they inform me that i will have to go to JFK to get them. I cant possibly take another day off from work so I send my husband in and half the items in the car are missing can't make this up. Hertz has not returned my phone call. I had to rent a car from Enterprise. Point of the story dont rent from Hertz!
I showed up to pick up my reserved vehicle at 2419 browns bridge road, Gainesville GA only to find out they did not have the vehicle. In fact, they only had three working cars on lot for which they wanted to charge more. Felt like a classic bait and switch tactic. Since they didn't have what I reserved, I left and rented from AVIS. Thought I was done, but that's not where the story ends, I looked at my credit card statement only to discover that I was charged a no show fee of $32.07 TWO times. I was at the location and spoke to the Hertz representative (Grant Cummings) extensively when I came to pick up the „non-existent" vehicle. A courtesy call should be the absolute minimum in my opinion (AVIS managed to do it). He offered zero help and muttered a bunch of useless facts about how few hybrid vehicles Hertz has in their fleet and proceeded to blame everything on Hertz HQ - they run the website and we can't control what they put on it. To no surprise, his supervisor (Harrison Lovell) was not reachable due to a personal matter. It's sad really, Hertz was always my go to but now I will never rent from them again. It cost me hours to resolve on the phone with my credit card company not to mention how much time was wasted going to the location and finding another company to rent from.
On November 7,2022 I Shani rented a car Nissan from Hertz at 6850 Mt Zion Blvd, Morrow, GA ******* I pacifically told Supervisor Mr. Tim Hardaway I did NOT want Hertz insurance when I got my own insurance Progressive who cover any damages with a rental car my mom was there when I told Mr. Tim Hardaway this. So when I sign the contract I'm thinking everything was done right. But when I turn in the Nissan on December 13,2022 but on December 14,2022 I wake up to check my bank account I see that Hertz ROBBED ME OUT OF 1,923.83. Hertz are THIEF'S, CON-ARTIS, & LIER'S I need all of 1,923.83 back on my debit card.DO NOT SHOP ARE DO NOOOOO BUSINESS WITH HERTZ MAKE SURE YOU DO A BACK GROUND CHECK ON THEM BECAUSE DOING THE PANDEMIC THEY ROBBED LOTS OF PPL AND THE PPL WON 200 MILLION DOLLAR LAW SUIT. WELL PPL FILE A DISPUTE WITH YOUR BANK I DID AND GOT ALL MY MONEY Bk.look at the dates I got my money back in the green
Gold member poor customer service…I rented a car in Orlando, FL. Due to travel plans for work, I was rerouted to Atlanta. I notified Hertz with the different drop off location. I dropped the vehicle off on Tuesday, January 3rd. I've had to call twice to have the ticket closed out. I am STILL BEING BILLED as if I am in the car as of January 6th. After multiple calls and requesting them to close the ticket, they have yet to do so.
Stay away from this company. Landed at LAX at 9 pm and took bus to this rental facility. Made car reservation 2 months in advance. Got to Hertz and they had ZERO cars available. Was told it would be up to 3 hours before a car would be available. Guess what - 6 hours later of standing outside in the freezing cold until 4 am and still no car - Called an Uber. My estimate is there were at least 100 other people standing in line all night. Absolute JOKE of a company. Hertz Corporate can suck my you know what. Their moto is "lets Go" well I say Hertz can "lets Go" to HELL. Never again Hertz.
USE ANY OTHER CAR RENTAL COMPANY.

I prepaid for a manager special 2 or 4 door car. When I arrived the agent stated no 4 door was available, she would upgrade to a full size car. I told her I could get a better deal at another car rental. She stated she'd take care of me and give a 50% discount. I trusted her word, my mistake! My original reservation was for $276.38, my final charge on my credit card is $615.80. Very nice " bait and switch " Hertz. Shame on your agent for lying and stealing customers hard earned money. I guess nothing was learned from bankruptcy and the lawsuit of your former CEO.
