This location is a joke. They treat minorities different. I felt discriminated against on so many levels and one of the managers told me that if I say i was discriminated against; he would not rent to me. Hertz refuses to investigate
Bought a car, so I thought. Agreed on price, after financing approval they raised the price $7000. Terrible people, terrible organization. Stay far, far away.
The woman said that I couldn't put on my cologne inside the car that I rented hertz robbed me out of a extra 400 bucks of my hard earned money all because the vehicle smelled like my cologne wow hertz has the worst customer service I've ever seen I'll never ever shop with u guy ever in life hertz should hurry and go out of business because there robbing the community out of our hard earned money Baton Rouge airport u guys wrong for robbing me out my hard earned money wow
As a long-time Dollar Express member preparing for post-pandemic travel, my profile needed updates for expiring drivers license and credit card. The website rejected my work-horse credit card (I use it every day) and there was/is no way to contact a human to update it -- no Chat, no 800 number on the website (anymore, it still shows on my rental receipt); the website feedback I sent has not been answered. So after standing through a zoo of a line at Love Field on Friday, today I tried again on the website and it failed again. Then I called Dollar and on the phone I pressed the car rental option (in an attempt to get a human). After a 25 minute wait, the rental booking agent came on, listened to my problem, and graciously agreed to update my profile herself (she didn't have anyone to even hand me off to!)
So I didn't know that Hertz actually owns Dollar until I saw the Hertz van with Dollar and Thrifty logos on it on Friday at Love Field; nor about the pending bankruptcy case -- but bankruptcy is not surprising because this company seems to be reeling out of control. Once a bell-weather example of customer service, Hertz is now on-par (IMO) with fly-by-night operators -- yes, site-jabber.com does have some 4 or 5 star ratings, but all I could find of those were from before the pandemic. Almost everything I found that is recent (late 2020 or '21) has a one-star rating, with tales like mine or worse. As a Dollar Express member, I feel like a casualty. This ship will continue going down if this so-called customer service goes on.
The car we got was a good car, that is all that was good. We were charged a surprise $500 deposit for using a debit card, without ever being notified of such, which overdrew our account. Would have happily used our credit card if we knew that was the policy. The gas was about a half tank full when we returned it and we were charged $9.99 per gal to fill it up... $82 dollars! For half a tank! And very poor customer service. The lady I spoke with was not interested in helping me, then said I could schedule a call back from a supervisor. Never got a call back. I will not be using Hertz in the future.
Horrible customer service! When I arrived, they told me I could not rent with my debit card that can be run as credit. I did not have a credit card active so they told me if I have my husband use his, due to him being 24 years old he would be charged an additional $27 a day. We have always upgraded our vehicle but their lot was completely empty. We ended up with a utility vehicle that did not fit in majority of the parking garages. Keep in mind we were on vacation for our wedding anniversary so this put a big damper on the excitement. Then to make matters worse they told me that if I brought the vehicle back after 12 pm on Sat, they would charge me for Sunday and Monday. Every company I rent from has offered a key drop box with no additional fees for turning in the vehicle in the evening. I called in a complaint to customer service and they apologized for all the inconveniences I endured, they then told me I would be compensated and refunded for the cost of the vehicle. 2 weeks later the fee is still on my account and when I called again the customer service rep began arguing with me about the situation and told me all he could offer is a $50 credit to my next rental. I will never use this company again so that credit is useless. I am appalled at their lack of care for the customer. I hope you read this and steer clear of Hertz.
What a nightmare, lady never answer phone, no cars made 2 trips there, car was out gas, little dirty. Over charge my credit card then say call billing. Try charge me for tank gas when it was on empty when I got it. Try charging me for a week I didnt have it, workers are very unprofessional always playing on their cell phone instead of handling their business. I never do it again. Head office just as bad..
I rented a car from the Memphis Tennessee Airport. Worst decision I ever made! It was a 2019 Nissan Sentra, the car look like some tried to pry open the driver side window and the vehicle had front end damage. All you couldn't see inside of the parking terminal. The collision light kept popping up on the dashboard and the car kept breaking be it's self. Tried calling customer service no answer and left message not returned call. Once I made to Milwaukee Airport to turn in vehicle was told by the checker that the don't give good card for one way travel and this vehicle should have never been rented out! Then was told good luck trying to get this resolved! Call customer service was on hold for over an hour! They wanted to give me a $40 off next rental! What a joke! Why would I ever rent from this company again! Trust it won't be happening! I'll walk before I ever rent from Hertz!
I booked my rental a week before my travel because the price was cheaper than where I usually rent out to (CAR ALREADY PAID FOR). I got there to pick up my rental and was told they no longer have the vehicle I booked and cancelled my reservation and left me a voicemail. I was told that I can book a bigger vehicle for more money per day, I declined and was told my refund would be in my account within a few hours. I'm 5 days in and still don't have my money. They could have offered a discounted price to upgrade but they didn't, I will never go through them again, knowing I paid in advance and no appreciation!
Place is a POS. Had a rental til I went to pick up when I was told "oh we have no cars" wtf! Read reviews and you'll see why you shouldn't use. No calls to tell me they have no cars and don't know where or when they'll arrive. The employees get mouthy so get ready to check em and put back in there place. Your a customer not a friend... so I believe they will be out of business soon
The vehicle we reserved and paid for was not available to us when we arrived on time to airport Hertz/Dollar Car rental! Instead they gave us a smaller vehicle for the same price and it smelled horribly of smoke! It also had a dangerous problem of a leaky tire! Not a reliable or trustworthy company. Would NOT recommend using them. We will NEVER rent from Hertz/Dollar Car Rental again!
No devuelven las cosas que se olvidan en los carros para atender los reclamos desvian las llamadas fue horrible nuestra experiencia
Hertz rents cars they don't have and then don't tell anyone until it's time to pick it up. I was told they haven't had a 7 passenger in several weeks, well that would be nice to know before I show up to pick the car up. No sympathy, and I'm the one left to handle the giant mess they created. Cust service Is horrible and im A presidents member, looks like I will take my business elsewhere
Hertz charged me $250 in tolls when in reality I used possible 4 tolls my entire trip. When confronted with evidence of their mistake, they "wiped out my balance" which didn't help me since they had ALREADY CHARGED MY CARD. Then had the audacity to deny that they received any funds from my credit card company even though the charge is clearly there. I am STILL dealing with this a month and a half later and Hertz has yet to take any responsibility. PLEASE NEVER USE THESE FRAUDULENT THIEVES.
We prepaid, had reservation number, which the guy acknowledge, but said it would be no big deal to refund me the amount. We rented another car and paid for it. Now that I am trying to get my refund, they want to deduct $100 from my prepayment amount.
My boyfriend had placed a rental through a third party sight Expedia, for Hertz Rentals. Given he is only 20, it gave us very little rental places to choose from. This was the worst company we have worked with, overall. None of the customer service lines or actual "in person" staff could tell us the same information, nobody knew what was going on. The manager tried charging us a underage fee which is lifted until March, which my boyfriend than had to correct him and his staff as well. We were told at first, from the customer service number at the rental store, we did not have a rental because we paid with a debit card, then the corporate number told us we had a voucher through Expedia so we still do have the rental. Everything has been very misleading and overall the worst company experience in general. None of the staff were on the same page and everything was wishy washy. It's sad to see "young people" only subjected to this rental place because no else accepts underaged renters. We are from Newyork in Bradenton, Florida for only ten days, we had planned our entire trip around this rental, the only "relief" and "compensation" we received was when we actually were able to pick up the rental and felt relief that this company still had it booked so we wouldn't miss out on our other plans. Little too our knowledge our rental is under the wrong name! Long story short, will never recommend this place, and would seriously love to make everyone aware.
On October 28th 2020 I called hertz to find out the cost of renting a car the give me a price I liked and reserved they gave me a confirmation and I waited for my trip to happen, the day came and I went to pick up the car and the representative told me that he did not accept that contract and that he was going to make another one with a price three times higher than what we originally agreed without having any other option than accept it since I was in another country, what they do is not fair.
When I came in their was someone hollering. I should have known their would be a problem not professional and under staff.
Rented a car on feb 3 2021 and was going to return it at 5:30 the same day. The rep said that it was a 24 hour rental and didn't need to be returned until the same time the next day. I decided to take advantage of the extra time and returned it 5 hours before it was due back. When I received my email receipt I was charged a 12.00 late fee. I immediately called and was told that it was a 24 hour rental but because the return time still stated 5:30 on the 3rd they had every right to charge me. Not an expensive mistake but the lack of customer service and the attitude that I should have know better will have me choosing a different car rental in the future.
I had my purse stolen somewhere between leaving the plane and getting to my car at the President's Circle aisle on Sunday 1/24/21. Thank God Hertz Team at SFO has a heart. Ameeta Sharma and Regina Hunt helped me get my car. They took my copy of my Drivers license and my paper temporary Texas Drivers License to their Manager Mike who approved me as a regular President Circle renter. They also walked me through getting a different card uploaded on my profile so I could drive away. After a long night, I really appreciated them and it gave me a better feeling about Hertz as a company.
I also wanted to mention Maria the Manager for returns, she helped me that evening and gave me $11 out of her pocket because I had nothing. There ARE still good people! Thank you Maria!
