They make it look like you are dealing directly with the hotel which is what I thought I was doing. Their fees ARE NOT CLEARLY IDENTIFIED. The final non refundable total billed to my card was an additional 50% more than the price shown. This place OFFERS NO ADDED VALUE AND IS A RIPOFF. STAY AWAY.
This site is dishonest. First of all it looks as if you are going on to the site of the hotel you want - I typed in the name, it came up, it invited me to book online and I did. Thinking I was dealing directly directly with the hotel. The price looked similar to others I had seen quoted here in New Zealand. It was only once my payment had gone through did it show that not only was the price I saw in USD (as much again as $NZD) but that $USD99 had been added to the price! So all up I paid double what I was expecting to.
I tried to cancel it immediately once I saw that I was dealing with Guest Reservations site but I could not get through to anyone on the phone. I wrote an email requesting a cancellation and refund but have heard nothing.
This company and their practices are fraudulent - all other booking sites in my experience offer the chance for immediate cancellation and refund if a mistake has been made at the time of booking, and quote their rates in the currency of the country they are operating from.other people - BEWARE OF THEM…..

I'm not one to write reviews, I usually just mooch off of others but this experience has been so bad I have to share in hopes I can spare anyone else this experience. I booked a hotel room directly from Google Chrome on my phone and unfortunately stumbled upon Guest Reservations (unknowingly). It was then the biggest series of unfortunate events. I made the reservation for the wrong weekend (the weekend prior to when I needed it), however, did not realize it till the weekend I needed the hotel room (the weekend after the reservation). On reading the fine print that I unfortunately had to read, their "cancellation policy" states one cannot cancel reservations unless canceling the day before you made them - yes, you read that right. I made my reservation on the 29th of August and the cancellation policy was that I had to have cancelled before the 28th of August! After realizing all this, I called their customer service explaining the circumstances to them - I was in town for a funeral - and asked if, understanding there are no cancellations, the funds I had already paid could be applied to a room the weekend I was actually in town. They said no - there were absolutely no cancellations or refunds, though on occasion there were refunds for death or bereavement. They said if I sent them the death certificate (!) or obituary they may refund my money. I obliged, sending the obituary, and then received an email 2 weeks later saying they would not process the refund as the hotel already had the money and if I could get the money back to them from the hotel, they may refund me.
This site is an absolute scam. Do not get trapped in to booking with them. Check your URLs! I was unfortunately incredibly distracted when I made the reservation but I will triple check my URLs from now on. Only book with reputable service (expedia, kayak, priceline) or best the hotel directly. NEVER use this website.

I am DISGUSTED that companies like this even exist! They are charging me way more than the actual hotel website is and let me know that they'd charge me the full amount to cancel. What kind of service is that? I am so upset at myself for getting caught in this scam. I will be contacting the business bureau. This company is foul.
Hi Kayla, our customer support agents are committed to your satisfaction. So we can securely look into this, please private message/DM us your reservation number, email address, and name the reservation was made under. Thank you.
Like other negative reviews, we believed we were on the hotel's website. The room prices seemed reasonable. But, in the end, there was a pop-up window asking us to confirm the price which included a ridiculously high fee of approximately 60%! Rather than confirming the the pop-up, we closed the window in order to go back and back out of the reservation. However, much to our surprise, that didn't matter! We immediately received an email indicating our reservation was booked! We then called customer service (within a couple minutes) and the person continually seemed to be reading a script about their no refund policy. We tried to explain that we DID NOT "confirm" the last window and were ignored. Total rip-off company!

This company pretends to be the hotel you want to book with and then charges exorbitant "service" fees for the booking. Even the web address is meant to mislead customers; they include the hotel name in the URL. They are greedy and know they are doing bad business but do not care who suffers because of it. I honestly do not know how they can legally remain in business. I will do everything I can to review this company and sue if necessary. "Guest Services" took our money in full and do not allow for cancellations. The final total was not displayed until after the payment was processed. In comparison, it would be at least $200 less to book through the regular Hilton website, as intended. This will not end here.

I found the " best value" price for a hotel at $118, so I booked the room. Once confirmed, the price shot up to $180! At no point before I was charged and nowhere on their site does it say that you will be charged such extreme service fees nor does it tell you that the room is non-refundable. I'm not sure why this site is getting decent reviews. What an incredible rip-off. I'm disgusted. I called and they offered me 10% off and ended up giving me 15% but still, way way more than I expected to pay. So misleading please do not use this site.
Hi Melissa, we are sorry you had this experience. Just like when you book through a hotel directly, Guest Reservations must charge its customers for all applicable taxes, including any hotel taxes. Additionally, by charging a service fee for all of its reservations, we are able to offer 24/7 customer support and operate as an independent travel network. Guest Reservations conspicuously discloses all fees and taxes on its checkout summary webpage, asking customers to check a box acknowledging these before they enter their payment information. Despite our transparency, we remain concerned about your experience. Please provide us your reservation # and the email address used at purchase and we will respond with the next steps. Thank you.
This business impersonates hotel websites making you think you are reserving directly with the hotel. They add booking fees sometimes as much as $100. When you try to get points when checking in the hotels will not give you points because this company has I'm
Resonates the actual hotel site.

My room was already paid for at the Red Lion in Ontario Oregon through the company. They still wanted my CC on file (incase of incidences). 3 weeks later someone tried to book another room under my credit card. Luckily the first charge was declined. But 17 minutes later my card was approved for a $3 purchase. When I called several times to find out why, the person on the phone did everything they could to get me off the phone and sent me to customer service. The phone just kept hanging up before I ever go to any customer service. I don't know who was working at that front desk, but reusing anyone's CC for someone else is THEFT!
Hi Stormy, Guest ReservationsTM is an independent third-party travel network offering reservations at over 100,000 hotels. We are not affiliated with this hotel. To speak to someone regarding this issue, please contact them directly. Thank you.
Absolute scam. They lure you in with a website that looks like the genuine article from the hotel and offer reasonable rates. It's all designed so you think you are dealing directly with the hotel. It's when you get the confirmation email you realize you have been scammed. Second person occupancy charges and tax recovery charges make the actual charge almost double the room rate. Don't touch them with a barge pole they are scammers pure and simple.

Booked the Canary Hotel in Santa Barbara where I have stayed multiple times, for 4 days (3 + 1 night, with a 3 day separation), through what looked like the hotel's website, kimptoncanaryhotel. Guest…. It was the top Google listing when I Googled Kimpton Canary.
It turns out to be a fraudulent site. I clicked on the $412 room rate, and made a reservation for the first three nights, then started over and make one for the night before my return flight. I did not see until ten minutes later, when the email confirmations arrived that I was charged a 44% and 45% "recovery fee", in addition to the room rate, for a total of $757.10 in "recovery fees" for the four nights. I called the number on the site, thinking it was all a mistake, but was told that the reservations were not cancellable (this is 15 minutes after I made the reservations for 7 weeks from now!). They said it was the "hotel's cancellation policy" (I have that in writing from the site's "Customer Care" person. I realized that I had been scammed, and called the Canary's general manager, Richard Cox, who said there was nothing they could do from their end. Great, I am a good repeat customer, but out $757 because Kimpton/IHG Hotels chooses to work with a fraudulent site, to get more bookings. Worse, the fraudulent site then routed the reservations through GetARoom.com, and another site. The Canary thinks that's where I booked the rooms. Why Kimpton/IHG chooses to work with a site that fleeces its customers, I cannot understand. At no point until I clicked "reserve" did I gee anything but the $412 room rate in big bold font. It turned out that there was a teeny asterisk, and in a light colored small font it listed the $556.23 and then the $200 + (for the last night) booking fee. I have never heard of anything so fraudulent in dealing with what I thought was an easy only booking. No, it's NOT out of your hands, Canary, just choose not to deal with shysters. I have all the screen shots and emails if anyone thinks I am making this up. BEWARE!

SCAM COMPANY. If I could give 0 stars, I would. In an emergency-stay situation, called the number that was listed alongside a Super 8 online entry as the number for reservations. After a LOT of fast talk, with me repeating back what I understood, I booked one night at $117 supposedly. THIS was the number I repeated and had confirmed by the agent The amount charged was double that, with the room price listed as $169, the rest in service charges. The online listed fee for the type of room at this property is/was $99. TOTAL RIPOFF. Filed a case with them... after followup from me-- never contacted by them-- they said they would issue a 10% refund. Not nearly the amount of the overcharge but apparently meant to appease. I am still awaiting that refund--they said it could take up to five days. We shall see. SCAM

I booked 3 rooms for 9/22,9/23 & 9/24/22 with the understanding that one of the days we may have to cancel because we were unsure when my son would ship out. After booking all 3 rooms, the rep confirmed the booking dates, said I would get an email for each of the reservations (to this day I never got after calling over 15 times) check in and out times and the cancellation policy which was, " You can cancel any of these reservations up until 9/21/22 before 3:59 PM. If you cancel after that then there is an $83 cancellation fee." After she was done I told her that I should know no later than 9/17/22 whether or not we will be cancelling the last night. Then she said, "Oh, these reservations are not cancelable. (is that a word?)" I said "Wait! What? You just told me the cancellation policy 3 times, once after each booking and now you are telling me there is no cancellation? Well I want to want a refund on all 3 Reservations because you deceived me. There are laws against what you did. You can't give me the policy then take my money and change the policy. I'm still looking at the rooms on your website and it says 'Free Cancellation." Then she said "No, no cancellations." I said, "Oh, we'll see about that!" and I hung up. I immediately took a screen shot of their website showing the available rooms at Red Roof Inn just so I would have it just in case this became a legal matter. In addition, Guest Reservations used Red Roof Inn information and photos to deceive us in thinking we were calling Red Roof Inn! I think they call that "Theft by Deception" in the legal world. I have reported them to the BBB (which by the way has 554 complaints similar to mine) and will continue to fight this along with my credit card company until I am satisfied. Guest Reservation Webpage DOES have a cancellation policy so I got that as well. I'm sorry but I do not have proof of purchase to upload because they NEVER sent me the email confirmations! The evidence that I have is on my desktop but I am using my phone to write this review. But if Guest Reservations wants it, they call reach out to me themselves. I also have 2 witnesses to this incident.

I was charged an extremely high amount of tax recovery charge/service fees on top of my hotel reservation cost. It added 44% to my reservation cost. I thought I had called the hotel reservation line but was mistaken. I thought the amount would be adjusted on my final bill. I complained to customer service but to no avail. I will never use this site again.

Think you're on the hotel website to find out you've been overcharged! Such crap! Can hear other operators in the background arguing with other customers trying to get their money back. Total scam!

I tried to book a hotel through this website and my bank texted me and flagged it for fraudulent activity immediately and declined the charge. In the text it said reply if this was you and we will not authorize the charge, you will just have to try again and it should work. Obviously i knew it was shady so i went to a directly to a hotel website to book and reserved fine without any suspicious charges. However the next morning the reservation was reserved anyway at 8am according to customer service. I was not even awake then. Then i tried calling them directly to cancel and refund the reservation. Don't even waste your time let them put you on hold forever and ask you to call back several times. Just go straight to your bank and have them reverse or dispute the charge because these people will not give you back your money.

BE CAREFUL! It's a fraud! They charge me 4500. 00 for 2 nights in Toronto IT WAS NEVER THE PRICE BEFORE I ACCEPTED! They charged me in my visa! Be careful..

DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM
Be aware of booking with them their fees and extra charges almost added up to an extra $50 from what was shown as the room rate the room was non refundable so you're stuck a room
