Garbage

If I could give zero stars, I would. Ordered at 1:05PM, est. Arrival was between 1:35PM and 1:45PM. I tracked my order at 1:50 and the driver was across the street from me. Tried to call the driver from the app, said the number didn't work. Texted the driver twice, didn't get a response. I then called customer service to be told that they "could not find the house so the driver is on the way to another delivery". When I said OK, how long until they come back, I was told the driver would not be coming back. As if that isn't ridiculous enough, they then tried to tell me that the "best they could" do is offer 50% off my next purchase... insinuating that they would not be refunding my $65 purchase. After demanding to speak to a manager, I was put on hold for nearly 10 minutes when someone from customer care' got on the line and said OK, we will refund your money OR we could contact the driver and see if they could come back. I offered to have him come and sit at the cross streets since my address is apparently nonexistent (even though I'm an avid amazon shopper and DoorDash seems to find my house fine, but let's leave that one alone). She tries to call the driver, another 5-10 minutes of holding and she's finally back saying just kidding he doesn't want to come back. So now, it's approximately two hours past my order time. I'm packing up my family which includes my husband who is celebrating Father's Day, and our 9 year old daughter, in the summer heat of the day in Sacramento (90 degrees) to drive to papa johns to get my pizza.

The app is slow and outdated, their customer service is a joke. Grubhub is literally trash. Do yourself a favor and use DoorDash. You can thank me later.

Folks avoid this 9.99 nonsense, I could've took an uber to the restaurant and still beat the time. Or the restaurant directly would've been faster. Grubhub is a bad business model

Never again!

Always a long wait but today was the last straw. Ordered at 11:30 am with an estimated delivery time of 12-12:25. Got an update at 12:05 saying estimated delivery time 12:35-12:45.12:30 called the restaurant no one had picked it up and food was sitting there getting cold since 11:50. Looked on the app delivery time had updated to between 1:10-1:25. I called Grubhub and cancelled. Get a clue! If you don't have any drivers available then why take the order? The restaurant got stuck with food that never got picked up and I have now been told it'll be 3-5 days before I see a refund for what I never got.

Worst service

Grub hub is a terrible app. I had a bad experience and was not issued a refund after being told the issue was resolved. This was my first and absolutely last time using this app. The restaurant blamed grub hub and grub hub blamed the restaurant. Customer service did nothing to address my concerns. Pathetic service. Do not give this app your business. It was a shame this could not be resolved through a refund. I will be reporting you to the BBB.

VERY Disappointing

First time using GrubHub... and will never do it again. Ordered with a promise of 35 min delivery. IMMEDIATELY after placing the order, it said 60 minutes. Ordered using paypal, they charged me through Apple pay (a different card for me). About 40 minutes into my 60 min wait... I realized this and called customer service. They said they would refund the order and made it sound as if I was gonna get a freebie. Then I got a text saying the order had been cancelled while still on the phone with them. I objected and said I didn't want to cancel the order and wait all over again. She said it was all she could do. I told her she could have at least asked and explained before cancelling. She then had a bit of an attitude about how I should have known. Never again.

This is my first time ordering with Grub Hub and it will be my last. I've had the absolute worst experience with this service. I was guaranteed a $10 discount if I were to place my first order through the app. However, the discount code never appeared at check out. I was promised by two other agents who also took a deep look into my order before they guaranteed that they could get me a refund. After I paid $85 for my order, I went back to customer service and asked for my refund and the sales rep finally told me I would not receive one. If there was any issue with how I ordered or the type of service, the two previous customer service representatives should be held accountable for notifying myself as a customer before I purchased through the site. These guys are dishonest!! with the worst customer service.

The app and its website have a lot of bugs. I was trying to apply a promo code and the app pushed my order through without any review and my approval. Contacted their customer service right after it happened and they wouldn't do cancel the order and give me a refund. My first time using Grubhub and never again. Seriously, just stick with Doordash, Ubereats, or any other competitors. These guys suck.

Disappointing

Took 45 min longer than what we were told to receive 4 ice creams that our served with warm cookies! Cookies were cold Ice cream melted and 45 min late! Won't use Grub Hub again!

I can never rate any orders for some reason and the app filled in my name with an incorrect one. They also have poor customer service and tjey cant give a reason as to why myself and many others cannot leave any ratings or reviews. How can yoh hold restaurants accountable without reviews?

We are regular customers of GrubHub, and just had a BAD experience. Here's what just happened. The driver came with the food. My wife and I were in the backyard. He or she did not ring the doorbell, and waited less than one minute. I spoke with Olvin, ID number 2017-3889 who told me he could NOT refund the order -- even tho we never received it. By the way, we tried calling the driver and the restaurant. We could find no one live. I recommend: a. You never ever use this company; b. You never ever invest any money in it; c. You never ever work for the company, because it will soon fair. WHAT AN AWFUL EXPERIENCE. Really, guys, don't you understand capitalism? The customer is KING. They don't get this. QUIT GRUB HUB. Grubhub will never again get my business. I ordered food from Applebee's and it never came. After 2 unanswered calls to the driver, 5 calls with customer service (who called the driver themselves 3 times with no answer), and one call to the restaurant, I've determined that the following happened...

Order was placed. Driver drove to Applebee's, parked, waited (as shown on in-app GPS). I cancelled the order after an hour. Driver was notified. Restaurant was not. Driver picks up my food just after I canceled (because I called Applebee's and found out). Driver eats free food.

Grubhub protocol for canceled orders is to return food to restaurant, which is how the restaurant is eventually notified of a cancellation. Only the diner is reimbursed. The driver has no consequence nor gain. Only the restaurant loses money. The driver just has a miss-delivery listed on his account.

So... I barked up each tree I could find and managed a 10% off next order and a $20 off coupon. I tried to order again. You can't put more than one promo code (understandable but frustrating). My food came to $22.75, the coupon requires a $20 minimum for a $20 coupon. However, including taxes, fees, tip it came to just over $41. It will not count the non-order charges towards the $20 minimum attached to the coupon. My $20 off coupon barely saved me $2 from the original price of the food. I understand the need to pay the driver and restaurant but come on.

They aren't trying to right the wrong, they're trying to minimize loss at the expense of the consumer.

Also, after the nightmare with the first driver with sticky fingers, I was skeptical to tip before I received my food. They require that you tip before.

Terrible.

Restaurants can cancel on you and you wont get your money directly refunded it take 10 days! And sometimes you never get your food!

$50 of food that I never saw, and I only got a 20% refund. Unacceptable.
It was my first time using Grub Hub. I selected the option to "Schedule a delivery." I carefully scheduled it for 6:00, knowing I would be away from my phone and unable to receive a delivery before then.
It arrived at 5:45. They could not get in touch withe me (duh, that's why I scheduled it for 6:00). They left. $50 worth of food. Gone.
They offered me $50 in Grub bucks... no thank you, I do not want to use this useless service again. And then they offered 20% refund. So I received $9.40 refunded... for $50 of food I never received. I chatted online with help, I called and spoke to a Supervisor. They absolutely will not budge. "It's a delivery service, and sometimes deliveries come early."
Then why do you offer the option of scheduling anything? There is no disclaimer explaining their definition of a delivery service. There is no warning when you supply a phone number that if you do not answer in time your food will disappear.
False advertising. Terrible customer service. I mean they were polite enough, but what a terrible policy. To not hold up your side of the delivery bargain, and claim that that's just how it is, and not refund the money? I can't believe that's allowed. Unacceptable. Never again.

I'm so pissed they steal your money and didn't refund me, my food never arrived. They are thieves I feel like. I called them and the the best they would do is give me a 50% off next order. I swear they need to be sued.

Food arrived punctually but was missing half the order. Contacted them and was told they cannot send another driver that they will refund me. I told them half the people are clocked out on their lunch break waiting for the food. No F%@KS were given. Would not recommend this service. Use any other service (postmates or uber eats).

The food was late. I don't blame the driver or restraint. But poor operation planning on the apps part. I used another company after a bad ordeal, and I'll never go back.

The bad ordeal was this: I ordered food from Grubhub. 1 hr later I was notified the order had been cancelled. That the driver arrived and the restaurant informed the driver that would not not complete the order due to being busy. When does any restaurant deny an order? Then I was informed that I would be refunded in several days. So, not only did they bot fill the order but now had my money. If I had just enough to splurge on that order, i may have been left hungry and out the funds. I ordered from Uber Eats and had the exact opposite experience.
