Tried to order food. Waited 30 minutes for an update via the app or website. Entered chat and waited 20 minutes to have someone join, send a message and immediately leave the chat. Waited another 20 minutes to have the same thing happen again. Waiting on hold on the phone for 30 minutes to FINALLY be told that the order didn't go through because the restaurant was closed already. At the time I am writing this, the restaurant is open for another 20 minutes still. 3rd attempt at chat finally completed, refund was initiated (will take 5 days) and when I asked how to delete my account he left the chat. All told, waited on hold nearly 2 hours to find out there was no order, but they took my money anyway. Garbage service with customer service that is nearly as poor. Stay away, much better options to order food out there. Will not use again.
I find these food delivery services dumb and wasteful in general. But thier commercial showing some douchbag (with a portrait of himself on the wall) wastefully ordering tons of food while the selfish song "I want it all " plays in the background is pure arrogant selfishness. Its disgusting that while people are literally starving to death in this world that this commercial portrayed selfish waste as cute and funny is truly dusgusting! Grub Hub shpuld be deeply ashamed of tjus commercial.
I have recently tried to stop using Grub Hub all together. My husband and I own a business and often don't get home from work until 10 or 11 pm. In several occassions I have gone on Grub Hub, chosen a seemingly open restaurant and placed an order then wait for the delivery. Waiting an hour to an hour and 15 minutes and still no food or contact from either Grub Hub or the driver. I finally called to find out what was going on only to be told (the first time) the restaurant was no longer delivering even though they accepted my order, (the second time) "We don't know where your food is the driver is not answering the phone," (the third time) "the driver says he is outside your house" but there was not a single car anywhere on the street I either direction and one never came, (the fourth time) the restaurant was OUT OF BUSINESS but still accepted my money. When Grub Hub used to make mistakes they would offer you credit toward a purchase in the future (which doesn't help you at 12:30 at night after you airway waited an hour for your food and now NOTHING is open so you just go hungry) to at least show they cared a little about your business but that has stopped. I have had enough of this ordering service and am just going to start picking everything up from now on.
Ordered food, driver never came and never received food. Would not give refund only a offer a 50% off next order coupon. Rip off!
If I could do -5 stars I would they are horrible? Who runs their customer service?! First time they assigned a driver to my food and then someone else ordered wings after my food was ready. Being that this is an African restaurant wings take 30-45 mins. Mind you my food was already ready at this point. This app re assigned the same driver for my food to sit and wait the extra 45 mins I was so mad! This was the actual second incident so I reached out to customer service they were so rude! Now tonight the restaurant actually called me to tell me my food has been ready for a long time and they haven't even assigned a driver. I am a regular. I reached out to them to cancel the order. They refused! I had proof that they were in the wrong still they said NO. The restaurant closes at midnight my food was supposed to be here by 11:35-11:45... it's 12:05 presently and I STILL have no food. This is for sure my last time using this app!
Soooo... Today was my final straw! I get that GrubHub can't control the drivers completely... but, when the driver is over an hour late with your delivery and it spent 58 of those minutes in his car, then you know there's an issue... I "chatted" with their online customer service reps... yes PLURAL... I had 3 of them... they all made me do the run down over and over and offered me a 20% coupon or a free $10 promo code... Ummm, NO "Diego" I want a refund. I screen shot the entire process with the estimated delivery time of 12:15 - 12:25... I placed my order at 11:38pm and expected 25 min wait... but when the order got pushed to 12:40-12:50 delivery time and then 1:15-1:25 delivery... I got my fingers to the keyboard with "Customer Service"... I was apologized to, then sent a 20% coupon and then... I'll call the driver... "Oh yes, your food will arrive in 10 mins", never mind that by that time it was past my lunch time and already an hour late. No response from "Jorge" on that one... then I was "passed through" to someone named "Max" that I had to repeat the whole issue to and was given $10 promo offer... Uhhh still NO. Then I was "passed through" the final time to Diego and after 10 mins of explaining the issue again, asking for a refund and offering pictures of the cold lumpy queso I was offered another 20% coupon... I GIVE UP! I'm not ordering from them again and recommend that you don't either!
4 or 5 reasonable orders, no issues. Tonight, somehow my order magically switched from Delivery to Pickup. Grubhub would do nothing about fixing it. Offered me a $10 certificate which is simply gross.
Never using them again. Writing all the bad reviews I can.
My teenage daughter was using my account without my permission, charging up hundreds of dollars on food orders. I contacted customer service 5 or 6 times over a week asking for my account to be deleted. On each of the chats I was told the account would be closed within 24 hours. That was not true. Get ready for more negative reviews on social media and dealing with BBB. Unconscionable
I'm a restaurant owner, Grubhub removing all good reviews from my restaurant page and keep only bad reviews. You know why! Because of my name. That's what i've Been told by one of their staff in Chicago. The restaurant account manager is stupid person. Just calling me when she needs me to opt in an offer... if I need her I call her. She put voice mail for me. She never never answered a call from me.
Regarding my reviews, i'm Collecting some screenshots now and will go to the court very soon. This unprofessional people will need the court to teach them how to be human...
99% of Grubhub Customer Care or Restaurant Care are all very tough people. We can't deal with them... moreover they don't understand how is the things going on their system (ex: the $ sign in front of every restaurant)
Ordered Chinese food, never received my order. Contacted customer service about it, they seemed helpful they said they would process a refund for me and I'll see it in 3-5 business days. Credit me ver showed up to my account and grubhub has no record of refund. Honestly just call the restaurant and save yourself the annoyance.
Warm milk shake, no really it arrived melted and warm. Reported it, nothing much was done.
Now, they want to charge 20-30% in tips, even for an order that's not even $30. Basically $8 to deliver a $27 order from a few blocks away. Not having it. This was nice at first but now they are just being greedy. Pay your drivers better and stop price gouging your customers.
I ordered chicken Alfredo. 97 minutes later and multiple phone calls, and I still don't have the chicken for my Alfredo. Apparently, I paid fifteen dollars for some noodles and no one cares that I paid fifteen dollars for noodles. I've used Uber eats at least 15 times and have NEVER had this issue.
We waited over an hour for our food only to find that GrubHub never assigned a driver and then they said the restaurant closed before delivery time was reached. Not only did GrubHub drop the ball but they didn't have support enough to fix the problem. First time using and I will never use it again!
If you decide to drive with GrubHub. DON'T, but in the event you do. Make sure you have another source of income... Be prepared to drive long distances for low pay. Be prepared for terrible communication between their headquarters and you the driver.Be prepared to be penalized if you don't except the low paying long drive in rush hour traffic orders. Be prepared to receive orders that have you waiting in the restaurant for 20 mins plus and you only get to work for an hour and a half. Just be prepared in general.
Over the many years I spent thousands of dollars with Grubhub, overwhelmingly happy but 3 times not. Today was one of them. Both times before they made it right. We are talking about 3 missed orders over years of using the app and over 300 orders. Good batting average but frankly, for the premium (delivery fee) it should be accurate every time, and when it's not. The fee should be waived. Well the rep who helped me (not) in the chat, didnt believe my business was valuable enough to this company and just flushed me (politely refusing to continue the conversation and come to a solution).

Twice grub hub advertised that we could order from local restaurants. We did so and got a message that our orders were being prepared. Then one hour later we got a call from grub hub cancelling the order as outside the delivery area of the restaurant. If the order was outside the area grub hub shouldn't have taken the order ( and moreover these restaurants are no more than 15 to 20 minutes from our house.) we certainly should have been notified sooner. This is the worst service in our experience. Don't use them unless you enjoy using this as a means of dieting
We have Arlo camera proof that Grub Hub did not deliver our food. We called to ask why our food had not been delivered. They told us our food had been delivered. We are shocked at the deceit of this company! They refused to reverse the credit card charges. We plan to contact our bank in the morning.
I have used this company precisely three times and never had a good experience. The first time I used GrubHub my food was supposed to be delivered within 30 minutes - 2 hours later it finally arrived and was cold. I complained and the company just apologized and offered me a discount on my next order. The second time I used them I was on vacation and thought they would be better in another city. Wrong. The food once again took over 2 hours to arrive. When I once again called customer service they contacted the driver who had decided to eat a meal at the restaurant I was ordering from all the while my food was just sitting with him. The last and FINAL time I will ever use GrubHub came today when my friend used their service when moving into their new homes so that we could continue unpacking while the food was delivered. An hour goes by without delivery, so we call customer service who tell us our food hasn't even been picked up yet. Food arrive again at around the 2 hour marker. Would not recommend. A one star rating is generous frankly.
Here is the deal folks, from personal experience. YOU are not GrubHub's customer! The RESTAURANT is their customer and they will take the side of the restaurant every single time. It doesn't matter if you are a long standing loyal customer who spends a lot of money using their service. They don't care. I have been shafted by Grubhub several times ranging in cold food, the wrong food, late food, poor quality food and NO food being delivered but they took my money anyway and they will take yours too! I have worked in the Customer Service field all my life and they have made it painfully clear to me that they do not care. Steer clear of GrubHub!
GRUB HUB HORRIBLE SERVICE
Do not use Grubhub. My last three orders were all wrong. Wrong food, cold food, etc. This time a two hour wait. I tried the customer service chat. Another joke. I kept getting cut off after chatting with 4 different reps, never did get my problem solved.
I know that they are usually the only delivery late at night, but I will now try Uber food.
DO NIT USE GRUBHUB. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Answer: I travel for a living and have experienced the lousy service that is Grub Hub. From Philadelphia PA to Shreveport LA and multiple other cities THIS SERVICE SUCKS. There's nothing good to say about it.
Answer: Both. But he is not alone, unfortunately. He only got exposed. Millions others are working in politically intolerant places. We have to change that.
Answer: Yes, it is normal. Original delivery times are almost never met. No drivers, Lost Drivers, Poorly trained or untrained drivers.
Answer: LOL... no kidding right! How can places take 2 hours to get food to you and not necessarily at a peak time. Good luck! Hope you were able to cancel it, but wonder if it showed up in the mean time. For this reason I no longer use a card but pay cash when I get the food. Hope you've managed to eat something by now.
