I got to the airport late and to the rental booth in the Denver airport garage even later. Green motion is a small operation at the Denver Airport in December 2024. They saved a rental car for me. It was an upgrade to an AWD Jeep Cherokee at the same price. It made driving in the snow a breeze.

We ordered the smallest car from Edinburgh Waverly station and were upgraded to a much bigger and nicer one. The check in and out process was quick and friendly. It was a good price, there was no attempt to upsell products. I would use them again

They didn't want to release my security deposit after the specified time period and had to contact my to raise a dispute with them to get my money back!

I can confirm that security deposits are automatically released by Green Motion on the last day of your rental after it has been established that the rental vehicle has been returned in the same condition as it was provided, and there are no further outstanding charges.
Please visit https://greenmotion.com/terms and select the country you rented from to see the deposit information which will advise the general timeframe that you can expect for the release of the deposit.
Whilst in most cases this is available again within 10 working days, unfortunately, this can take up to 30 days depending on the bank that you use. We suggest that you contact your bank as they may be able to speed this process up for you.
Green Motion's policy is to use pre-authorised transactions for our security deposits, which ring-fence the amount within your account, not charge it. This pre-authorised transaction will allow us to make charges if necessary at the end of the rental, but unless this occurs no money will leave your account. Due to the nature of this transaction, the release of these funds may not show on your bank statement as a separate transaction. If you believe that you have been charged your security deposit, please contact your bank and ask them to provide proof of the transaction as a charge on the first day of your rental so that we can look further into this for you.

No frills off-site rental experience.
Better instructions should be given for Stanstead airport:
Example:"Take a shuttle to the Novotel from the bus station and tell the driver you are renting from Green Motion. Go around back to the right of the hotel to the office" Be sure to leave enough time when dropping off the car - between the shuttle and the long walk in Stanstead airport after security allow for an extra hour.

Payed for car in advance then told at pickup car not insured had to pay another £200. Car badly damaged down left hand side one rear seat would not lock down. Not very happy at all could have rented from Avis / hertz for same price

Answer: DON'T do it. They advertise low and sting you at the counter! Clerks hard sell additional insurance (they get a commission). In Glasgow, Scotland this last August, they tried to get me to pay $800 in insurance to cover a ten day rental that was about $35 a day! Many people have posted about scams where they charged unsuspecting customers for "damages" that were already on the car but the customer may not notice, like a tiny chip in the windshield or a small scratch on the door edge.
Answer: Speeding/parking tickets and police action are slow. They keep the deposit until they are sure there will be no problems with any of those costs. (and yeah, would be speeding fine + massive green motion fee).

Answer: I believe Green Motion are a perfectly fair and respectful company. I suspect you didn't read their Ts&Cs properly. The two customers being served while I was collecting my car had also not read/understood the conditions and were caught by surprise. The representative dealt with them firmly but fairly.
