Ordered a mini bus for 8 people and ended up with a Peugeot 5008 7seater was charged for mini bus £80.50 and Peugeot was less than this deposit not returned.
So to be honest I had to do 2 journeys which took 9 hours So the difference of price and deposit not not happy

I have used several times. When flying in and out of birmingham airport much better especially in bad weather you take the monorail to train station and the desk is there. All others involve a walk in the rain. Cars were fantastic value for money also.

Cape Town: could not find Greenmotion staff for 20 min. Then led to a parking garage and asked to sit in a car until my car was ready. (20 mins)
Port Elizabeth: Could not find Greenmotion staff to return car for 30 mins.
King Shaka airport: Greenmotion staff was 30 mins. Late on collection.
On return 20 mins late.
Attempts to phone Greenmotion - phone was never picked up.
Identifying staff difficult. An identifying t-shirt or cap would help.

Answer: DON'T do it. They advertise low and sting you at the counter! Clerks hard sell additional insurance (they get a commission). In Glasgow, Scotland this last August, they tried to get me to pay $800 in insurance to cover a ten day rental that was about $35 a day! Many people have posted about scams where they charged unsuspecting customers for "damages" that were already on the car but the customer may not notice, like a tiny chip in the windshield or a small scratch on the door edge.
Answer: Speeding/parking tickets and police action are slow. They keep the deposit until they are sure there will be no problems with any of those costs. (and yeah, would be speeding fine + massive green motion fee).

I can confirm that security deposits are automatically released by Green Motion on the last day of your rental after it has been established that the rental vehicle has been returned in the same condition as it was provided, and there are no further outstanding charges. Whilst in most cases this is available again within 10 working days, unfortunately, this can take up to 30 days depending on the bank that you use. We suggest that you contact your bank as they may be able to speed this process up for you. Green Motion's policy is to use pre-authorised transactions for our security deposits, which ring-fence the amount within your account, not charge it. This pre-authorised transaction will allow us to make charges if necessary at the end of the rental, but unless this occurs no money will leave your account. Due to the nature of this transaction, the release of these funds may not show on your bank statement as a separate transaction. If you believe that you have been charged your security deposit, please contact your bank and ask them to provide proof of the transaction as a charge on the first day of your rental so that we can look further into this for you. If this amount is still not available in your account after 30 days from the last day of your rental, please contact us at [email protected]. Answer: I believe Green Motion are a perfectly fair and respectful company. I suspect you didn't read their Ts&Cs properly. The two customers being served while I was collecting my car had also not read/understood the conditions and were caught by surprise. The representative dealt with them firmly but fairly.
