This was a seven-seater rental, used to convey family across the UK.
The vehicle (a Volkswagon Touran) was well designed, and had enough psace for 5 people and luggage.
A couple of downsides: there was no airconditioning in the rear, and no opening rear windows, which meant that the front A/C had to be on full power to get any air to the back. Secondly, one of the seats in the rear had a malfunctioning seat belt buckle, so could not be used.
Driving the vehicle was easy, and the fuel economy was excellent.

The very low prices led us into temptation - and in the end, we paid way more than other car rentals would have charged us right away. The problem was that a damage that had already been there when we picked up the car went unnoticed (a tiny chip in the windshield) and we were charged 180 Euro for that, plus a 100 euro "administration fee". I guess that's how the low prices work: just charge any damage to the next unaware customer! It was the first and the last time that we rented a car via Green Motion.

I booked a car with Green Motion through a third-party app, attracted by what seemed like a great rate. I then spent $80 on an Uber to get to their location, only to be hit with a classic bait-and-switch scam.
At the front desk, I was told the initial rate was only the beginning. They demanded an additional $60 a day for their insurance, $20 a day for tolls, and a ridiculous $2,000 security deposit.
When I tried to use my personal State Farm insurance, which includes full rental coverage, the front desk agent refused. He claimed that under Florida law, it is mandatory for Florida residents to purchase a separate policy with at least $300,000 in coverage! A completely false and unbelievable assertion. After being told I couldn't use my own valid insurance, I realized I was dealing with a company that operates on misleading and dishonest tactics.
I was forced to walk out without a car and spend another $80 on an Uber. Save yourself the time and money. This company is not legitimate. A total scam!

All good, but I've been waiting for a promised refund for 6 weeks now. No answers to my emails..

I can confirm that security deposits are automatically released by Green Motion on the last day of your rental after it has been established that the rental vehicle has been returned in the same condition as it was provided, and there are no further outstanding charges.
Please visit https://greenmotion.com/terms and select the country you rented from to see the deposit information which will advise the general timeframe that you can expect for the release of the deposit.
Whilst in most cases this is available again within 10 working days, unfortunately, this can take up to 30 days depending on the bank that you use. We suggest that you contact your bank as they may be able to speed this process up for you.
Green Motion's policy is to use pre-authorised transactions for our security deposits, which ring-fence the amount within your account, not charge it. This pre-authorised transaction will allow us to make charges if necessary at the end of the rental, but unless this occurs no money will leave your account. Due to the nature of this transaction, the release of these funds may not show on your bank statement as a separate transaction. If you believe that you have been charged your security deposit, please contact your bank and ask them to provide proof of the transaction as a charge on the first day of your rental so that we can look further into this for you.

Every thing was ok, but an attempt of taking money from my registered card has driven me crazy, and didnot get any logical answer for my question of why still mmy card is not removed from your system and trying to take my money after clearance done in South Africa

Answer: DON'T do it. They advertise low and sting you at the counter! Clerks hard sell additional insurance (they get a commission). In Glasgow, Scotland this last August, they tried to get me to pay $800 in insurance to cover a ten day rental that was about $35 a day! Many people have posted about scams where they charged unsuspecting customers for "damages" that were already on the car but the customer may not notice, like a tiny chip in the windshield or a small scratch on the door edge.
Answer: Speeding/parking tickets and police action are slow. They keep the deposit until they are sure there will be no problems with any of those costs. (and yeah, would be speeding fine + massive green motion fee).

Answer: I believe Green Motion are a perfectly fair and respectful company. I suspect you didn't read their Ts&Cs properly. The two customers being served while I was collecting my car had also not read/understood the conditions and were caught by surprise. The representative dealt with them firmly but fairly.
