Green motion was OK, but we booked through carjet.com and paid additional insurance which green motion said they did not recognize and had to pay again

Bonjour Madame, Monsieur, Je vous adresse cette réclamation concernant un incident survenu lors de la location d'un véhicule auprès de l'agence Green Motion Marrakech le 28/06/2025 à Marrakech (Maroc). Alors que je souhaitais utiliser ma carte bancaire pour effectuer le paiement et la caution du véhicule, celle-ci a été refusée. Le personnel sur place m'a indiqué que la carte n'était pas reconnue comme une véritable carte de crédit et qu'il était donc impossible de finaliser la transaction. Je précise et montre ma carte que c'est bien écrit carte de crédit, émise par la Banque Postale. Cela m'a causé un préjudice important sur mes vacances et notamment des frais supplémentaires de 549,41 €. Je sollicite donc:
– une explication claire concernant ce refus,
– de prendre les mesures nécessaires pour éviter que ce type de situation ne se reproduise,
– et une prise totale des frais engendrés par cette situation. En espérant une réponse rapide et favorable à ma demande, je vous prie d'agréer, Madame, Monsieur, l'expression de mes salutations distinguées.

Jeg leide bil fra Green Motion i juli 2025 for en periode på to uker. Under leieforholdet ble det registrert en skade på bilen, og jeg fikk beskjed om at kostnaden var 9600 tyrkiske lira. Av dette beløpet ble 3000 tyrkiske lira trukket fra depositumet. Jeg mottok deretter et brev fra selskapet om å betale resterende 6600 tyrkiske lira. Dette beløpet har jeg betalt via min bank. I etterkant har Green Motion sendt meg nytt brev og daglige meldinger om at jeg fortsatt skylder 6600 tyrkiske lira, med begrunnelse i at de ikke har mottatt betalingen. Min bank har sjekket saken grundig med banken i Tyrkia, og min bank har fått skriftlig bekreftelse på at pengene er mottatt av Green Motion. Til tross for dette fortsetter selskapet å sende meg meldinger med krav om ny betaling.

All went smooth at pick up Luton airport. The car a 3008 Hybrid was a dream ro drive and in excellent condition. Took the car back 11 days later and the process was efficient.

I've used Greenmotion. A few times now. The only downside is they're usually 10-15 mins from the airport. This is far outweighed by the quality of the vehicles and the great service from their staff that seems to be the norm. Never had a bad experience, had plenty of good ones.

Great service as always from the Green Motion team at Stansted. But the Kia Sportage was a really unpleasant car to drive. Driver 'aids' wrestling the steering all the time and on one occasion performing an emergency stop for no reason!

Very satisfied with the car and the service, but after more than a month I still haven't got any news on my deposit
Answer: DON'T do it. They advertise low and sting you at the counter! Clerks hard sell additional insurance (they get a commission). In Glasgow, Scotland this last August, they tried to get me to pay $800 in insurance to cover a ten day rental that was about $35 a day! Many people have posted about scams where they charged unsuspecting customers for "damages" that were already on the car but the customer may not notice, like a tiny chip in the windshield or a small scratch on the door edge.
Answer: Speeding/parking tickets and police action are slow. They keep the deposit until they are sure there will be no problems with any of those costs. (and yeah, would be speeding fine + massive green motion fee).

I can confirm that security deposits are automatically released by Green Motion on the last day of your rental after it has been established that the rental vehicle has been returned in the same condition as it was provided, and there are no further outstanding charges. Whilst in most cases this is available again within 10 working days, unfortunately, this can take up to 30 days depending on the bank that you use. We suggest that you contact your bank as they may be able to speed this process up for you. Green Motion's policy is to use pre-authorised transactions for our security deposits, which ring-fence the amount within your account, not charge it. This pre-authorised transaction will allow us to make charges if necessary at the end of the rental, but unless this occurs no money will leave your account. Due to the nature of this transaction, the release of these funds may not show on your bank statement as a separate transaction. If you believe that you have been charged your security deposit, please contact your bank and ask them to provide proof of the transaction as a charge on the first day of your rental so that we can look further into this for you. If this amount is still not available in your account after 30 days from the last day of your rental, please contact us at [email protected]. Answer: I believe Green Motion are a perfectly fair and respectful company. I suspect you didn't read their Ts&Cs properly. The two customers being served while I was collecting my car had also not read/understood the conditions and were caught by surprise. The representative dealt with them firmly but fairly.
Answer: They are robbers and scammers, never think to rent a car from green motion, they will charge you thousands of euros, instead buy a new car
