I had other accounts linked to this one and one good day I could not access to the emails even though the password was correctly entered and recognized. When I asked their client service to cancel the account or fix it they insisted it was my fault for not updating the flash. I updated it and the problem has continued. Now I have my emails derived to an account I cannot access. Isn´t this spooky? Yes, it is also a total lack of professionalism and decency. As far as I am concerned they should be closed down and banned from the web.
I use gmx.com has been two years. It gave my life a lot of convenience, it will prompt arrival of my e-mail
I signed up and found my account blocked within hours. I tried to get their help, and they did actually respond, but the message only said that security will continue to block the account. No explanation. I signed up a second time with a slightly different sign-on and got into my email. I tried to keep it open but couldn't receive anything. Ended up refreshing (not possible), lost the connection and, when I tried to sign back in, (you guessed it) blocked. I'm not sure what their game is but, the email is worthless if you can't access it. Glad it was free.
WORST Email company ever!:
Well, I had the worst experience I´ve ever had, and wanted to share it with you guys to avoid more people falling on the fraud. I´m in Germany, were GMX is one of the biggest providers, they had an offer to test GMX TopMail for 3 months, with a veery small almost unreadable letter that says that in the moment you click on the offer, you´re obligated to pay for the service for one year (that means, a one-year long contract)
Long story short, I got trapped by the offer, and after the 3 months I started receiving letters from layers charging me for an amount that I wasn´t even aware I had to pay, after tens of letters I got my account blocked by a judge, and what was only 10/month end up being almost 500!
I tried to finish the contract several times (by phone, email, or even Post!) but they would always find a way to "reject" my request.
As of today, after they blocked my account and all, turns out they "automatically renewed" the contract for another year against my will, and obligated me to pay for another year of service!
Right now I have another judge order where he´s asking me to pay another 300 (remember, the service is only 10/month) or he´s gonna block my account again.
So, at last, my advice is, STAY AWAY FROM GMX SERVICES! I´ll keep spreading the word of my experience to avoid more people falling into this trick!
This Email service a great and you service that is better then yahoo mail or gmail overall. I love this gmx.com and if they had a website hosting service i would use it to
Ok so far but it does not refresh on it's own and you have to log back in often with your whole email address. Hard to get your messages to expand to read your whole correspondence history and has quite a few errors when you try to save your settings. One nice thing though, audible alerts when you get new mail, but why is that so rare anymore?. 12/13/15 no more audible alerts for quite a while now, just about to stop using it.
I have been testing GMX e-mail over time, and have found it to be a positive experience. The e-mail supports SSL and for added protection, I recommend the Firefox extension HTTPS Everywhere.
GMX has 2GB free storage that works in a similar way to Dropbox. In addition to this, GMX has a built in antivirus scanner that will go through all your emails to make sure you're not harmed from malicious scripts. I am however giving this website three stars because after looking at their Facebook page, their was many complaints. For example, complaints of people losing accounts, or not being able to access them. But from my personal experience - it was positive.
I signed for e-mail account everything is fine until one day your account, "no longer exists", so I sign up again using the same e-mail address as before I get this "account already exists" what the $#*! does it exist or not? $#*! these unreliable bastards in the neck.
Join GMX.com and couldn't log in. The next day was all good. The thrid day, I found myself block. I can see why they have 13 Million users, But only a few hundred can actually use there account. Between being block, and suspended, I wonder how many have signed up several times. No me,,, goodby GMX
GMX is the most unreliable email service available. Should you choose this cesspool of an email service, rest assured that once they acquire your personal information, your email account will be locked without cause. This has been the case with literally thousands of users. Avoid it at all costs.
I had my account suspended for no reason. Very unreliable service.
I personally really enjoy my gmx account. No annoying sponsored links knowing someone "read my mail!" it takes a little getting used to, but it has a great mail organizer that lets you read all your mail in one place, yet keeps it filed by address.
Captive account - GMX will not let me cancel my email account with them. Deletion place on their website is non-operative.
