The overall reputation of the company is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, particularly regarding its customer service and transaction processes. While some customers report successful transactions and reliability after multiple purchases, a recurring theme is frustration over order cancellations, unresponsive customer support, and issues with gift card activation. Many reviews highlight unexpected fees and difficulties in redeeming cards, leading to perceptions of the company as untrustworthy. Despite a loyal customer base, these negative experiences overshadow positive sentiments, indicating a critical need for improved communication and operational transparency to enhance customer trust and satisfaction.

Someone purchased hundreds of dollars of online gift cards using stolen information from my credit card from this company. Because the gift cards are issued online, the thieves don't need to worry about the shipping address and billing address matching, so this is an easy place to use stolen credit card data. I had to cancel my credit card immediately and contacted this company's customer service to let them know about the fraudulent charges as soon as they opened the next morning. They did nothing to help me. They stated that according to their "Return Policy," they could not issue me a refund. The problem is, I never had been on their site and had never agreed to their "Return Policy." I had never even heard of this company until the fraudulent purchases were made through them. Now I have to wait for my bank to deal with this poor excuse for a company. I have filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission for bad business practices, because this company offers a standing invitation for fraudsters to do this to other people. I recommend that anyone else who has had this same thing happen to them report this company to the FTC as well. The FTC phone number and website can be easily found on Google and it will take ten minutes to file the compaint at most.
They found a loophole to the California law the makes expiration dates on gift cards against the law. They call them "Rewards" cards.
Be aware of their Dormancy Fee's. They can end up stealing all your money if you are saving your card for a rainy day
Received exchange for egifts card for Christmas. The card number is way too light to read. I'm pretty much told when I call that they can't do anything without the card number. So my son wasted his money on a worthless gift for me.
I redeemed my e-card and followed the directions on the card, yet I never received an email to obtain my card again. I reached out to the team and they told me they couldn't do anything about it because the card wasn't purchased off of their website. What a waste of $50.
Went to scratch off the Silver stuff to reveal the number to register it and the number came off with the silver stuff. I took it back to the merchant, the merchant said it was obviously defective. Contacted Giftcards.com Customer service. The nicely told me to F off when I described that the card was defective. I guess another lesson learned.
Some idiot got ahold of my credit card, came to this website and spent 100 of my dollars on my credit card. They were can accomplice in robbing me. Afterwards they sent me half a dozen surveys about my experience with them, "thank you for letting us rob you - how was your experience?" Obviously they didn't write that but it's what it felt like.
I ordered a gift card from Giftcards.com on December 6th. According to their site, that should have been more than enough time to deliver by Christmas. Today is December 29th and I just received my card. That's 3 weeks and 2 days. I used Giftcards.com because they were linked into Elfster, the Secret Santa app. I think Elfster should reconsider having its name associated with Giftcards.com
I purchased an eGift Card as a Christmas gift for my assistant yesterday, early morning. I have emailed GiftCards.com twice without a response. She still has not received her gift. Needless to say that this is the first and last time that I will use this site. Their service is shockingly bad
Took money from bank account instantly then never sent gift cards. No customer service no replies had my wife in tears. These are sick people who pray upon people who may not be physically healthy and able to shop in stores. Worst experience in my life!
Bought a visa giftcard through my Capital One shopping app. Giftcard got declined then target canceled the order and reversed the charge. They won't release the funds back to the card and customer service is useless! Buyer Beware!
I tried to purchase over $1.600 worth of gift cards, the system kept stating issue with card, never gave an invoice #. Called (no one ever answers, prompts are crazy) they stated they didn't see an order from my account. Called my Card Co. There is a pending charge on there since 12/6. Called again, got transferred said nothing they could do since they didn't see it. Asked to talk to a supervisor, Ana, she gave me a CS # said it will take 2-4 business days that was on 12/7. Nothing.Called again on 12/9 talked to Alex, stated I will get an email by the EOD on 12/9. Nothing. Called 12/12 spoke with Emerson (went through the whole thing AGAIN). He said he will send me an email requesting the snapshot of my bank showing the transaction. I told him I will stay on the line until I get it. He stated it would take up to 2 hrs. I said no it won't. Came in 30 seconds. Sent it back, he once again told me it could take up to 2 hrs to receive. Again, I said no and waited. He got it within in 2 minutes. He transferred me to Alex (he is the same supervisor who stated I would have an email by EOD on 12/9). He proceeds to tell me it will take 5-7 business days for the transaction to drop off. That there is nothing they can do.
Because of a glitch in their system and no one wanting to assist me. My Team members will not be getting their gift at our Holiday Party. It would have only taken the first person I spoke to, to take the initiative instead of saying I don't see it there is nothing I can do.
After 1 year of inactivity, the gift card uses $4.95 a month even when you're within the expiration date. I would not recommend this card.
I've tried purchasing in the past, and they cancelled the same order three times in a row. I opened a ticket, they eventually called, and said everything was "fixed", and I could place an order now. And I did. A month later I tried another order, and once again they cancelled. Opened a ticket, received an email 2 days later say someone would contact me within 24 hours. They didn't, sent a follow-up and heard from someone. Basically told to make sure all information is properly entered. Something raised a red flag, though they cant tell you what it is, and to retry. I understand they have to protect against fraud, but the systems they employ sure do catch and revoke a lot of legitimate business. I'm done with them.
Site repeatedly malfunctions at check out (from multiple computers) and $2k worth of gift cards are at our local UPS distribution center and NOT moving and giftcards.com says they will check into with THREE TO FIVE DAYS! Nope. DO NOT trust them!
I bought a virtual visa prepaid card that said it can be used anywhere that accepts Visa. I quickly received an email with with what appeared to be a virtual visa gift card, with the CVV number and everything. Except that I have yet to find a single place, online or in person, that I can use this card. It always says it is invalid. I can't get an explanation for this, from either the company or retailers. It also tripped a fraud alert on the card I used to purchase it (and the name that comes up on the bill is neither visa nor giftcards.com, some random overseas company). I would not trust this company. Best case scenario they just take your money and give you a fake gift card, worst case they do who knows what with your personal information.
I purchased a $250.00 gift card for my grandson's birthday. The day he activated it, before he even got to use it, it was hacked. Contacted the company, the froze the card ($56.00 balance left), said they could tell it was hacked, would issue new card. They issued a new card, with a 0 balance, called again, said they would upload within a few days. Never did. After several attempts to contact them, I filed a dispute with my bank. After 4 months, my bank just notified me they cannot honor the dispute, because the company sent an invoice, showing the purchase, so now the bank is taking $255.95 out of my account. What a rip off this company is. I am now out $500.00 because I ended up sending another $250 through Zelle, so he would have a birthday present from his grandparents. This company doesn't even deserve 1 star. Customer service is horrible, they don't follow through with what they say. Don't purchase from this company!
I love writing review online and getting rewarded with gift card it fun and can be interesting to do
Answer: This happened to me also. My credit card company said they would do a fraud investigation.
