The overall reputation of the company is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, particularly regarding its customer service and transaction processes. While some customers report successful transactions and reliability after multiple purchases, a recurring theme is frustration over order cancellations, unresponsive customer support, and issues with gift card activation. Many reviews highlight unexpected fees and difficulties in redeeming cards, leading to perceptions of the company as untrustworthy. Despite a loyal customer base, these negative experiences overshadow positive sentiments, indicating a critical need for improved communication and operational transparency to enhance customer trust and satisfaction.

I must say. I cannot wait to do business with GiftCards.com again. I am very pleased with my experience. I must confess, I was freaking out to the fact that I had to provide online (not a life person) my gift card code and credit card information without getting anything back a that moment. With so many fraudulent companies out there after pressing accept terms and complete transaction my mind when $%%$$#%%^. Shortly after I received an email with the confirmation transaction and two hours after another email confirming the balance of my transaction with my payback. 24 hours after my heart was about to burst... Could wait anymore and called the customer service number. A friendly person (Jacky) advised me that the verification process would take up to 3 days. Ok, so I figure I had no other option other than wait... To my surprised at 4PM 24 hours after I had done my transaction... bum... I received a call from GiftCard.com. Stephan called to deliver wonderful news, the verification process had been completed and that on the same day my payback will be deposited into my paypal account. I figure, if this is a scam, is a damn good one because they are even calling me back providing correct info and all. So I wait a little bit longer and on the same day evening I got my funds. I was so happy that they follow with call specially when this is my first time doing this. Neither to say that I will keep them in mind all the time either to sell or buy gift cards. Awesome company. Will defensively do business again. Just and advised to everyone out there. Companies need to protect them self as well as we do. Specially with so many scams. If you are doing a transaction like this, take the best method of delivery to protect your self. Don't go cheap. Do your research and call the company before proceeding with any transactions. I choose electronic transaction and paypal instead of mailing the card and using USPS for deliver so I could monitor the entire transaction. I am happy I did it this way because in less than 48 hours I had my fund. So go for it and happy shopping. Because GiftCard.com did put a "SMILE ON MY FACE"
They said my cards were stolen on top of that they did not tell me the proper way to send it so i would say after losing 130 dollars to them that i will never do business with them and make sure they never get business EVER they screwed me and i will make sure they lose money over it!
Thanks for the opportunity to address your concerns. We advised you that we never received the items you indicate you mailed to us. We reached out to you to attempt to correct the situation as quickly as we could. The cards you mailed in to us simply did not arrive. You chose to mail the cards with no tracking information. We did advise you as to how to go about contacting the post office to see what they could do to help. We simply can't pay you for cards we never received. Thanks again for allowing us the opportunity to address your concerns.
I ordered a gift card and on 5/29 and today is 6/18 and i have not received the gift card, i called customer service on 6/13 they said next day it will arrive, i called again on 6/16 they said wait for one more day and on 6/18 they said we will log a ticket and some one will get back, is that the way a customer service rep say? Instead of resolving the issue, I would never buy from this place again and would advise other too just go to Walgreens and get it, it might not have a photo but u have a gift card to give it some one.
Thanks for sharing your feedback. Unfortunately, you chose the one shipping method, as clearly stated on the website, that does not provide tracking information or guaranteed delivery dates. We record 100% of our calls. If, given the shipping method you chose, any of our reps ever gave you a specific delivery date, we will of course address that. We do our very best to provide realistic timelines for the processing and delivery of all of our products to our customers in advance of checking out. Unfortunately, with this shipping method, once we have placed the order in the hands of the USPS, with no tracking information available, we have to assume the order is delivered. We will be reaching out to you today. GiftCards.com guarantees all of it's products 100%. We are a Google Trusted Merchant and maintain an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. Your orders are always protected with us.
SCAM! Beware. Don't use them. And this "Tom C." character that's replying to some of the posts is a joke. Saying they are incredibly ethical? LOL, if they were so ethical they wouldn't have so many complaints against them. They would do the right thing for customers.
Today we filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and with the Atty. Generals office. This is definitely a scam. We sent in a $100 Subway gift card to be cashed in for $80 in return. We entered the card number on the site it was verified and accepted. Unbelievably, we also included the receipt showing the gift card was purchased at a legitimate Subway restaurant for $100. We keep getting cryptic messages stating the card is invalid or it's a high-risk and a multitude of other reasons. Unbelievably they won't tell me why it's invalid or what the "risk" is, however they did send me an email stating I had to send them a 42 cent stamped envelope to have the card returned to me. Are you kidding me?!?!?
SCAM!
Veronica, Thanks for taking the time to offer us your feedback. We look forward to responding to any and all postings, whether on social media or as you state, the BBB. We maintain and A+ rating with the BBB. We have the right to purchase a card or not. If your complaint to the BBB is that we chose not to purchase your card, I sincerely look forward to responding to that review. While we are sorry to hear you aren't completely satisfied with your experience, we always love hearing from our customers. Thanks again for taking the time to offer us your feedback. Sincerely, Tom C.
I previously used them to order multiple gift cards but the past two days I can't place an order, cant even get customer service on the phone. I would never buy from them if you could even get you order through. Maybe they have gone under or something, but after two days trying to get a card for a graduation present and no response to email nor getting through via phone, go elsewhere.
Thanks for your feedback. We are very much still in business. The issue you reference in this posting is not related to the website. We had no issues with the website that would have impacted you in the way you describe. We are very confused that you indicate you couldn't get through to a person in customer service. We have live customer service 24/7/365. We were able to locate no calls from you to our customer service team. We would recommend clearing your cache and cookies and perhaps trying another browser. Thanks again for your feedback. I would remind everyone that reads this that GiftCards.com maintains an A+ rating with the BBB and is a Google Trusted Merchant as well. Our reputation as well as the products and services we provide are, without question, the very best in the industry. Thanks.
Company policy is to treat issued gift cards "like money," meaning they will not help if the card is lost or stolen. The company to which the gift card belongs will not help because you didn't buy it through them. The point is, do NOT use a middle man (giftcertificates.com)!
You have posted on the wrong company. We are GiftCards.com and have no affiliation whatsoever with the website you posted. GiftCards.com offers a 100% guarantee on ALL products we sell. Next time you should purchase from GiftCards.com.
I purchased a gift cards from this company on 3/7/2014 for $83.57. On or about 3/21/2014 I called the merchant to ask where my giftcard was. I was informed that it should arrive no later than Monday 3/24/2014, but was not provided with any tracking information for the shipment. I've had discussions with their Social Media person over Facebook and was informed that it essentially was my fault for choosing the method of shipment. Again no tracking information nor a real solution to this problem was ever presented. I've informed them that I would have no choice but to proceed to dispute the charge since I've never received the item when I was told to go ahead as I will be blacklisted by the company. Here we are today, 4/3/2014, with no giftcard from the merchant. As proof the merchant should be able to look up the giftcard balance as I'm confident that all of the funds are still intact because we never received the giftcard. I've proceeded with the dispute with my bank as promised but felt the need to inform other consumers of not only problems with their shipment but simply their lack of approach to resolve this issue.
I have reached out to his customer repeatedly and they have never responded to me. They don't actually seem to want to discuss the problem or correct any issue that might exist, instead they have chosen to malign an extraordinarily ethical company without provided enough information for us to be able to locate and research this issue. My guess is that they are somehow associated with one of the competitors that can't keep up with us ethically, so the stoop to this.
The only reason I chose this site is because they say they pay immediately. They don't! I setup a paypal acct and following the instructions on the website. The website became glitchy and they said they had to send me a check instead. I didn't want a check! I called customer service and the first two times I called the rep was rude and hung up. On the third call and a different rep they were more polite but couldn't do anything other than repeat the Info on the site. It's been over ten days and the check still isn't here. This was my first and last time using gift card.com. Horrible website, horrible customer service and horrible follow thru!
DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! I ORDERED GIFT CARDS ON THE 16TH OF JANUARY AND TODAY IS 02/21/2014 I CALLED TO GET MY MONEY BACK BECAUSE I STILL DON'T HAVE THE CARDS AND THEY MADE MY PAY THE 4.95 CANCELLATION FEE. RIP OFF RIP OFF SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM!
GiftCards.com is in NO way a scam. We maintain an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau as well as being one of a handful of online merchants that have attained the coveted Google Trusted Merchant classification. We offer a variety of shipping methods to our customers, all of which, except for 1 are guaranteed and provide tracking information. When choosing the one shipping method we offer that does not provide tracking information, you are provided with specific information advising you that we can not guarantee delivery dates for that method. We do everything we can to ensure that our customers are fully informed on all shipping methods we offer. I am sorry you aren't completely satisfied with your experience. Our goal is always 100% customer satisfaction. But to suggest, despite our very specific instructions, that we are a scam is unconscionable. We are a reputable business that sells in excess of a million cards a year.
! Horrible Experience! Do not do business with them! Do not Buy or Sell with them!
We are not sure if you are a competitor. My guess would be that you are. You post anonymously and provide no specifics that would allow us to specifically address your concerns. I do hope that anyone seeing your review recognizes it for what it is.
Placed order on 1/16 for a lowes gift card. Realized I didn't need the card within 5-10 minutes of ordering so I called to cancel the order. They said it's still open, so cancellation is not a problem. I got an email stating my order was cancelled and that my card will not be charged. It states specifically: "No charges have been applied to your credit or debit card. You may see a pending charge on your account from GiftCards.com that your bank is waiting for us to authorize. This charge is usually lifted within 3 business days by your financial institution." Happened to check my card on the 18th and sure enough, a charge for 117.28 dollars posted to my card. I called and they said it wasn't supposed to and that they would issue a refund which I would see by 1/24. Checked on 1/24, no refund. I called again and they said I'd see it by 1/27. Checked on 1/27, no refund. I called my credit card to dispute the charge, I am done dealing with giftcards.com.
Thanks for the feedback. We process refunds, typically the same day they are submitted. It can take several business days for the bank that issued the purchasing credit card to apply the funds back to the customers account. We have absolutely no control over that.
I think this is a good website because you can explore other sites
Cancelled an order on 01/09/2014. On 01/16/2014 I called to find out why my money was not yet refunded. Called the company and was told the refund was on its way. After contacting BBB, the company admitted that they had forgotten to process the refund and therefore only processed it after I called on 01/16/2014. I have to wait an extra 3-5 business days for the refund to come now. NO apology from the business whatsoever and no attempt at compensation.
Update: Money was finally refunded. This does not make up for the fact that they didn't process the refund until a week after the order was cancelled (although they told me otherwise), but at least it was done.
This customer is completely misrepresenting the facts of this situation. They have filed a Better Business Bureau complaint, which after we explained the situation factually, the BBB has accepted and closed this complaint. This customer has been refunded, but their bank has not put the funds back on their card. We have no control over that. We can only process the refund from our end, which we have done. This customer is intentionally maligning the character of an incredibly ethical company based on absolutely untrue statements.
I should have read the reviews on this site before sending them a $50 PF Changs gift card. I sent it in and received an email saying "You've been paid!" It's been two weeks now and nothing. I tried to click on their customer service link, but the page is invalid. I feel so foolish but lesson learned. BEWARE!
STAY AWAY! Worst customer service ever!
I had a Banana gift card that I hadn't used in months so when I stumbled across this site I figured I might as well unload it. That was on the 3rd of January. They claim on their website that they pay you immediately. Sweet! Too bad that's a lie. I received an email on the 6th on January that said this:
You've been paid!
ORDER SUMMARY
As you requested we have mailed you a check in the amount of XXXX. You should receive this check within 5-7 business days.
Well here we are... 7 days later and I have nothing. I called to make sure that they sent the payment to the correct address and the first "customer service" rep asked me to repeat my identifying information 4 times. Not sure if he wasn't listening, didn't understand English or was deaf! He then told me that he would create a ticket and someone would get back to me in a few days.
Umm... NO! He finally transferred me to another "customer service" rep who told me that the check was, indeed, CUT on the 6th and I should have it in 15 days! What the heck! I reminded her of the email referencing 5-7 days and she said, "oh no... that is just an estimate. And it was cut on the 6th but it may not have been sent until the end of the week or just earlier this week. And then it's up to the post office." Come on lady. I get mail every day. Nothing --even if it's cross-country mail--takes more than a week!
Definitely some of the worst trained phone reps I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with.
Icing on the cake: the moment I hung up I got this email:
XXXX has been addressed.
Resolution: Fixed
Issue resolved? They must be joking!
HA! I can't believe it. Awful experience. Will NEVER deal with them again.
I sold gift.cards.com 3 brand new gift cards purchased at the same time. They only compensated me for 2 of the cards saying there was a "problem" with the third card. Of course, I have never been able to reach them again. I have tried to call, email customer service, etc. Nothing. They told me they would be in touch and were not. Clearly, they think compensating someone for a portion of their cards shows they are legit, but they are not. Do not trust them!
I thought the cute little animations were a nice touch, which is why I selected this site for christmas gift cards. Unfortunately, the experience was less then cute. It was confusing how to redeem them to start. And then once they did get the information to redeem them the site wasn't recognizing their emails. Upon calling customer service they said their IT dept was aware and were working on it. "Should be cleared up by tomorrow". Seriously? The agent wasn't very knowledgable and they really didn't seem too concerned about the situation.
GiftCards.com lied again, they sold me a gift card to a restaurant that did not take Discover card this was totally unacceptable this is not the first time. I found another review were they post this and the owner of the restaurant complained.
Sold an unwanted $75 Nordstrom gift card here via PayPal for $66.75 I think. Got my payment the next day so no complaints. I was seriously worried after reading what everyone else was saying about this site but I honestly have nothing negative to say about my selling experience! :)
I am in the middle of a bad experience with this site selling my macy's gift card. I was sent a reciept and verification of my gift card on Tuesday. I am still waiting on payment. I have made several attempts to email with no response. Even though my ticket code shows resolved. I called customer service and was told they couldnt help me until thursday. I could have sold my card and received my money to anyone on the street for way less hassle. I checked their website and it showed my gift card for sale a few hours after selling it to them with no payment in sight.
Answer: This happened to me also. My credit card company said they would do a fraud investigation.
