I called and reserved a room for 12/11 - 12/12. I called around and fond another room for half the price. Within 20 minutes of the reservation, my credit card had already been charged. After finding another room for half the charge, I called getaroom to cancel. I was told the cancellation cutoff was 12/07/2020! What the hell! I called on 12/10/2020! Agent was extremely rude! Would no let me speak to a manager, and would not even give me the name of his manager! Had to challenge the charges with my credit card company. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS! THEY ARE THEIFS!
The hotel was absolutely awful. It was dirty and smelled of all types of smoke. I brought this to the attention of the staff immediately after checking in and after checkout and no one did anything. I also am now disputing charges that are unbeknownst to me.

I was very disappointed when I made a reservation and cancelled it within a few moments after making it that I was not going to get a refund. However, working with customer service they understood my position and gave me a full refund. I like the way they continued to communicate with me about the situation till it was resolved.

All i wanted was to cancel just one room. Every time i have booked rooms i have always been able to modify booking... not with yall though. I had to cancel whole reservation and they will hold my money for a week before i can get it back then i had to go back in a get a whole new reservation. I will never book with this site again. I am beyond mad i had to double pay and wait for my funds to be released.

I accidentally booked at last minute through getaroom thinking I was calling the hotel. I realized when she quoted the desired hotel very high and then switched me to a lesser hotel down the street at an "unadvertised" special rate. When we got to the hotel we found we had paid $30 over the card rate for the room - the agent said it happens all of the time and we should have called direct. Next time I'll pay more attention. Horrible.

I made a reservation in the am, plans changed and I had to cancel the hotel 8reservation later in the day... No REFUND! I'm appalled it cost over $170 for a reservation that was made for December and canceled. VERY POOR business practice. I never saw where canceling was NON-REFUNDABLE. Scam to make $$. This is ridiculous, please do not book with these people! After several emails, and a cpl weeks, I was issued a full refund for the reservation. Still wouldn't book with them again, but at least they did the right thing! Always read the FINE PRINT!

I googled the hotel and location of the property I wanted to book a room. Somehow I ended up on getaroom.com yet the url showed reservations.com so I had no way of knowing. After entering credit card info and hitting submit, I realized the charge was $102 more than it should be. It was then that I realized I had navigated off the hotel website. I called and was offered a small discount but no cancellation. After several requests to speak with a supervisor, I was transferred to one who offered to cancel my reservation but stated he would not refund my payment. He further stated that the "convenience fee" is stated on the site. I went back to the site and found that it is shown BELOW the submit button. I never thought to scroll further. Long story short, extremely poor customer service on their part. I will never willingly use their services in the future.

After seeing my reviews online, an agent was quickly in touch with me and went above and beyond to resolve my cancellation and refund issues over the course of a few days. I have my money back, and my rep (Carrie) was amazing, but I will not give a score higher than 3 stars due to the disturbingly rude individual I encountered during my 2nd phone call.
DON'T DO IT! Less than 5 minutes after making my reservation I realized that I had selected the incorrect room type, so I called to cancel. I was told by the GetARoom representative that I would have to call the property to cancel the reservation. So guess what I did? I called the hotel. And guess what they said? That I had to call the service with whom I made the reservation. Second call to Getaroom representative resulted in no cancellation, no upgrade (even though I know and accept that there will be an additional charge), and no referral to the supervisor after I clearly and specifically requested the supervisor more than once. I know those calls are recorded, but what does that even matter if the representatives are allowed to deflect, deny and disconnect at every opportunity. Now I have a prepaid room that I can't use because it's still the wrong type of room! Next call is my credit card company.

I had a dispute with Getaroom.com about a Reservation I made back in August where they did not send an email confirming my cancellation that was in accordance with their Cancellation Policy. Therefore I had no proof of the cancellation and they charged me the full amount for the three night stay. After me having to jump through some hoops, they have since refunded the full amount. I am only raising my rating to 2 stars for having to go through this frustrating ordeal. The full text of my original rating/review is below.
I called and cancelled my reservation 48 hours in advance. After the Cust Rep said he processed my cancellation, I asked for a confirmation email for the cancellation. He said I did not need it, that I could either go online to confirm the cancellation by Confirmation # or call to confirm. I don't even think I knew that I was speaking to Getaroom.com as they do not identify themselves when you call. I even called the hotel that even to confirm and they said that my reservation was in fact cancelled. I found out when I got my Credit Statement that I was not refunded the charge to my card. I called and they said that I did not cancel and was a no-show. I argued and said that I was going to dispute that charge with my Credit Card Company, which I have done. This company scams people in many different ways as evidenced by the number of negative reviews and I am a victim of one of their unscrupulous actions. It is my word against theirs because the Cust Service Rep refused to send me an email to confirm Cancellation.

We booked two rooms at the Hampton Inn. During our call to make reservations we confirmed we were talking to HI. Reservations. We were actually talking to GetARoom. We tried to price match with booking.com
but were told they had not updated the rate but would when reservation was confirmed. So, we booked the rooms, supposedly for $128.57. However, on our credit card they charged $187.88! Can't get through to them by phone. Looks like we taken for $59.31. Be careful online!

Watch out they quote you an amount and say tax included and still sneak in a tax- recovery fee that was not even mentioned I call back to question the change and they stated that it's a fee that they have to pay to the hotel also they book you in hotels and when you get there they end up been ing motels dirty and disgusting. I will never again use this site!

I book my hotel for 2 adults and 3 kids, with falls view from room, they took money and didn't send me confirmation, so I call them back with in hour and even they don't have my right email adress, and they send me confirmation for 2 adults only with no fall view, now I have big problem to get into my kids, I have all the call recordings, I been calling them 20 time Noone cares and nobody fix that, its there error. And on top of that there customer service guy said canceled it and rebook it, which will cost me 115 usd dollar, is it acceptable? It's fukin there error and we pay within one hour panelty, please please don't book from these suckers kindly requesting, I have all the call recordings,

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
