Today I called TRU hotel phone number and thought I got the front desk to book me a reservation with my credit card for two rooms but instead I found out it was a third party company called getaroom. To make a long story short after I found out I was being lied to I tried to cancel and she said it was non refundable. She basically took my money. I arrived to the hotel to find that the room was paid by a third party company. I looked for my reservation in my emails and found getaroom had my reservation. The representative told me that there were covid-19 fees which took the rate up $70 each room. The hotel had no knowledge of these fees. This is unacceptable to be lied to and deceived while on vacation. (Update) I was contacted and taken care of. Thanks for your prompt response and help.

It took 20 minutes to check it to a Super 8 hotel. We were the only customers. I believe the problem was getaroom not getting the correct information to the hotel. The receptionist had to call her manager to get it straightened out. It was a mess. DO NOT BOOK THROUGH getaroom.

I searched for nashville, TN and was moving away in the map view to find hotels and it does not show me hotels as I move in the map. Would be good if it does

Would not let me check other locations without having to completely log off and start over like it locked in.

I was booking a room and before I was even able to see a final price w taxes, my credit card was billed and room booked. I immediately tried to call, disconnected three times, and basically stuck with $60+ in taxes and fees on a $105 room. NEVER AGAIN!

Promised a low rate on room. Got to hotel got an additional 25 dollar "recovery fee". Also promised a pet friendly room and told the fee was included in price. We got to hotel and had to pay an additional $50,00 fee at the Comfort Inn even though I was told the fee INCLUDED the pet fee! Horrible!

BEWARE: This is not a real company; it's a scam. They have no bookings to sell. They are selling Expedia's bookings, so you won't get a refund or be able to change your reservation.

We booked a room thru Getaroom and was hit with 36.00 extra fee once we checked in.
While there is a notice of the fee on laptops/computers, there is no indication on their MOBILE website, which we booked on.
Customer service does not acknowledge this flaw, and it seems future customers will also be hit with unexpected fees.
I don't mind paying fees, but I do mind undisclosed fees. This company seems unethical, please be careful.

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
