I was very happy it was very easy to work not hard
I used this site as they were claiming to offer a great price on a hotel room over in Tirana, Albania. Firstly I had no confirmation email from getaroom at all and when I arrived at the hotel they had no details of the booking whatsoever and certainly hadn't received any cash.
I then had to make an international call to get a confirmation email and again when I presented it to the hotel they had no trace of it.
When trying to resolve the issues directly with getaroom there is absolutely no one to talk to and their 'support' email only sends out automated responses, ie there is no one manning these emails either.
DO NOT use this company, they are complete SCAMMERS!

We booked a 2 night stay and they quoted a good rate for the room and even though they tacked on an extra charge and called lt Tax, they quickly refunded the charge after I enquired about the charge. Thank You GetaRoom.

Easy to book and site offered a cheaper rate that was very affordable
Beware of Get A Room. They just charged me $35 in "fees" for a $90 room. Without disclosing it before the confirmation email. Avoid.

Miss Lapria at the front desk was outstanding in all aspects of her job. It was so impressive to watch her do her job with such an accommodating smile and warmth to each and every customer before me and after me. I have never seen a stillness of patience and calmness throughout her duties. While being the only representative for the brand she really brought a sense of class and the utmost care for her clients and not for a second did this woman flinch or change her approach even while phones ringing off the hook customers backed up she maintained that class and upheld the brands posture with the utmost of delicacy. You have a real asset in her for the brand holiday inn. She is probably the primary reason i book this hotel every time i need some me time/ calm time. She handles my special needs no questions asked. I wrote this review because I know in my field working as a shop foreman for Toyota how important it is that the customer is treated with delicacy for retaining customers is way harder than acquiring them. Please know that you have a real Gem representing your Hotel Miss Lapria Murphy.

From start to finish, it was an extremely easy, straightforward experience.
After 2.5 months I finally got a refund.
Booked a room in what I thought was hotel website. When the confirmation came through I realized it wasn't the hotel and a fee was added. Canceled immediately. When the money didn't get refunded, I called only to be told there's a. I refund policy! Was told to contact the hotel, they never received the money and I'd have to deal with the service. 3 times I've been told I'll get a refund. 2 months later no refund and now no reply to my emails. Time to call a lawyer. $470!

A week prior to My reservation, I requested to move my reservation to the following week. With sources like hotels.com or direct through the hotel this would not have been a problem. Getaroom stated they have a zero cancellation, refund or transfer policy. However I am certain they are able to cancel with Hilton at zero cost to them. They are pocketing $. But it is the first time for everything and being burnt by this establishment! It never happen to me again. I will never use nor recommend this service to anyone.

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
