Okay, I make the reservation and it fully can be cancelled. So why did they charge my credit card now? Yes, they said they would but its 5 months from now. A lot can change in that time.
I didn't like the idea of you taking the money out for the room 2 months before I go but when I had to cancel the refund was put back in my account very quickly. Thank you

They lied! Did not realize I was using a third party to book our hotel and when I asked them is this_______ hotel they assured me it was.
I do not understand why it is not possible to cancel a reservation, if it does not correspond to the price I make the reservation R*******160 for a price that does NOT correspond to reality. I made a reservation for the price that was indicated to me in GETAROOM, if it has been modified, it is not my responsibility.
The customer service representative worked hard to fin me the type of reservation I wanted. And walked me through the cancellation policy which was important to me due to potential need to cancel at last minute.

Any site that bothers me more than once to review them gets one star. Do not harrass your customers into helping you get more business.
Very efficiently structured - almost every inch is used. Not a good choice if you are a large person, but otherwise a well-priced choice.

Very groovy place. My room was on the 6th floor and was spacious and comfortable. Two things I found odd: there was no top sheet on the bed, only a bottom sheet and the comforter; there was only white powder packs instead of creamers. I stayed on St Patricks day and the bar was very crowded. My room was very quiet, only an occasional siren.

I reserved a room, in Rome, for two nights... received NO response to my question, was this for the 2 nights, or 1... with no response, I phoned to cancel, and at that time it was for the TWO nights. I checked direct with the hotel, and it was PER night!
Great room with an awesome view of downtown Wilmington. Very friendly service too. Convenient to historic downtown Wilmington attractions including the St. Paddy's Day parade. This was a wonderful weekend getaway!
I wanted to book a hotel in Belize that I found on TripAdvisor. It was a sponsored link. TripAdvisor routed me to GetARoom to book it. The advertised cost was $348 per night. I received an email from my Credit Card company indicating the charge had gone through. GetARoom then took my rooms away and raised the price to $411 per night. I called GetARoom and was told there was no availability at the $348 price. I called the hotel directly, and got a rate less than $348. There was lots of availability. Clearly, once GetARoom had me on the hook, they switched me to a higher rate. For 2 rooms for 4 nights, this would have increased my costs greatly. This was downright fraud.
Though there were many compilcations in getting my reservations straight, we had great rooms at price I could manage on a tight budget.

I travel to NYC twice a month for work. I was taking my daughter for this trip and booked a stay at the Hilton, through Getaroom because it was a good deal. (i usually book through hilton directly, I should have). For some reason my room was booked as one bed with two hotel guests no kids. I need two beds with 1 adult 1 child. When i called to ammend this when i read my recipet the response was "there is nothing we can do". I am not quite sure how this reservation got so screwed up, and i dont want to pass the blame, maybe i made a mistake. But that being said I book trips twice a month. The odds are against getaroom. Besides that thier inability to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IS proposterous.
The lady I spoke to told me the total room price with taxes was 420.16 and when I got the email it states the total price is 513.76. Not impressed that I was lied to. But will still take the room, of course!
My son booked some rooms for his company with these crooks. He thought & was told he was speaking directly with the specific hotel, but he was not - they lied. He was offered a decent price, but when he got the bill it was 50% over the quoted price - they lied. I called then & they could not tell me why - they lied. They immediately offered a 10% refund (it appeared they are very accustomed to doing this). We'll see if that happens & if they again - lied. These folks should be ashamed but I'm a firm believer that what goes around, comes around.
Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
