I travel on business nearly every weekend 9m out of the year, I stumbled on Getaroom one time and got a awesome rate with a employee who went out of her way to help me.
I haven't looked back since I call them first anytime I book a hotel room, 1 time I saved 90.00 a night c'mon it's a no brainer...

Great location; great parking; great breakfast... no problem getting in early to park for free. Walking distance to the Falls... no issues off-season.
I google searched Westin and somehow ended up with their number. I asked directly if this was the Westin and/or their preferred status line and the agent said yes and told me to book fast because there were only two rooms left. I did and called back to put my rewards number in when I was informed that this was not in fact the Westin. Upon further investigation, getaroom said they had the best rate when setting me up in a room and it was $180 more than booking direct. They offered to refund 10% and have refused to let me speak to a manager.
I am considering pursuing legal action as they misrepresented themselves and will not provide any manager to talk to to escalate the situation.
Booking the room was easy and the interface is great. However a resort fee (daily, levied by the property) was not included when shopping and came as a nasty surprise when the confirmation was emailed.
Received immediate response from Getaroom.com and the issue is being addressed.

Made the res easily. Then last night was unable to cancel room on line. Will try again but otherwise seems like Ill have to call to do this. Also, no real description of the room or as many room choices as on other booking sites.
Unhappy with the support when I had questions about my reservation. The agent just told me that I have to call the hotel. It seems like getaroom is just a booking engine and not in position to support questions about the reservation. I hope I don't have any issues with my reservation when I try to check in because I doubt getaroom will try to help.
This site gives you complete information on the conditions for the room reservation. I don't see what more I can say, I'm just writing to fill the minimum 100 characters that are asked in order to submit.
I chose hotel reservations and then needed to cancel. I called the actual hotel and asked if they had a cancellation policy. The hotel said no if I cancelled the same day. I cancelled the reservation and GetARoom charged me the full room rate of $194.10! I cancelled within half an hour of making the reservation and GetARoom argued that it was the hotel's policy to pay the full fee! I called the hotel back and they claimed this was not the case. I called back the representative at GetARoom and they STILL insisted it was the hotels policy and I needed to pay the entire room rate as a cancellation fee! I got no satisfaction from GetARoom! Totally unfair and will never utilize service again!
I booked a room out of town for an event. I prepaid the entire reservation including what felt like an exorbitant $32 fee to the 3rd party. I arrived at the resort for check-in Saturday to be told that get-a-room had confirmed a room that was not available. The resort notified them the next day but no one from their company told me. The resort was sold out and I had NO WHERE to stay. They kept me on the phone (mostly on hold) trying to sort it out with no success. Although my relo specialist Aundrea was very nice the situation was absurd and one f the worst Ive ever experienced booking online.
Reservation hotel, was said breakfast included, no more fees and not trusting the guy... I called the hotel and no breakfast included and fee of 31.00 more. They don't say and don't know their product. Also rude! After asking to assumed them self to pay for breakfast... no no they said. Finished with this company not professional.
I found the accomodation for the villa i was looking for at such a cheap rate! I emailed the villa to confirm booking and everything was confirmed immediately.
My issue has been resolved. Was overcharged but Getaroom more than compensated for the difference. I am pleased with the way they resolved my issue.

The hotel directly, but it went through Getaroom. No problem. Got the confirmation immediately. Only difference is that the Getaroom confirmation number differs from the hotel #. It would be clearer if they were the same.
First: we will never stay at Tillamook Shilo Inn again.
Second: I will not waste my time booking anything through you either. It took 45 minutes at the register desk, had to show proof of payment from online bank statement, and wait through many phone calls by having to listen to a Russian accent! You cost more than if I were to book direct. Need I say more?
Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
