My mom bought something online. Khols. Wasn't aware she signed up for anything. She's been charged 19.99 monthly since before Christmas. They refused to refused any part of it. She had a membership she wasn't aware of and never used. Even. The representative said it was confusing and unclear. People just thought they were using there khols cash and she dealt with it Daily
I have NO idea how I signed up for this scam service call freeshiping.com. I noticed there is a $13 charge in my credit card from freeshipping.com and looked into, I have been charged monthly $13 for 2 years without knowing it. I guessed when I bought on a website, I did not realized when I checked out, I automatically signed up for this monthly service. Watch out for this to avoid this scam. I never used it for 2 years for over $300 for nothing.
I had been a freeshipping.com customer for a couple of years. The first year got over $1K back between rebates and cash back. They just raised their fees to $19/month from $13. It is not worth $19/month.
I just noticed a charge on my cc for $19 from free shipping.com and realized they were charging me since February '23 the amount $13/mo. I looked back and found it started after a purchase I made at kohls. I called free shipping and they said it was a promotion through kohls. Here's the thing it's bad enough kohls allows this with purchases but free shipping raises the amount from $13 to $19 without any notice at all. I think the company raises the amount when they notice it not being used. On the premise that the cardholder obviously hasn't seen the charges and is not using their SCAM site to buy anything. Stick with Amazon for all my online purchases. Such a SCAM. Why isn't consumer affairs shutting this company down. Dam SCAMERS!
They charged me $2 first and today I got charged $19 for nothing! They are scam, there is no cash back, dont trust them at all! May they also get their money stolen without them knowing, amen.
These bozos trick into giving out your payment info they got me because I was on a site I do business with and thought it was legit them I got these shady scam attempts on my debit card don't let these dirtbags scam you don't let the two dollars go cuz the thieves will be back for more DISPICABLE THEIVES!
Forced me to sign up if I wanted to check out at dillards so I ended up signing up. Worst mistake I ever made. I then noticed that they started to take money out of my account. So with one threatening email to them telling them i would sue and had they had 2 days to respond. Magically the money was refunded back to my account and and my freeshipping membership was cancelled. In the end if this happens to you just do what i did.
I had no idea I had signed up for their service until I received a monthly bill for $19. When i asked to be removed from the service and a return issued, I was greeted with rudeness. My guess is this happens frequently.
I've seen a few reviewers mention how it is the customers fault for signing up for this service, but it's really not. I had a promised $10 shipping rebate (which I never received) tacked to the end of a Banana Republic purchase, it required me to make an account and then began charging me $20 a month. At no point in the sign up process was it made clear I was signing up for a billed service. Fine print I suppose...
To be fair, they do send a confirmation email stating there will be billing, but it is all the way at the bottom and at the top of the email there is a big button saying "Claim my $10 Cash Back", so it is highly unlikely you are going to scroll down to see that. Pretty disappointing a company like this even exists because there is a market for what they supposedly provide. They'd likely have more success being like Rakuten and offering a free win-win service rather than sneakily taking money out of your bank account until you notice.
My elderly mother received the FIRST email EVER from this company yesterday stating they were about to raise their fees (to $19/mo.). I have vetted her incoming emails like a hawk w/out fail, daily—for potential scams—for several years. This company clearly wants to stay under the radar knowing they are duping people who never knew they signed up! We have discovered they have been charging her monthly for THREE YEARS. She never used any alleged "membership." The CS rep stated: "Oh, it must have been a pop-up ad you once clicked." They cancelled "membership" and agreed only to refund 4 mos. (Obviously b/c that's only how much the VISA will agree to credit.) As far as I am concerned THIS IS tantamount to A SCAM preying especially on elderly cc holders. The line item "FreeShipping.com" is easily confused for Amazon Prime's (or other retailers) free shipping. The VISA co is complicit in permitting their cardholder statements to reflect this costly ambiguity and confusion. Do you want to know what else the FreeShipping.com rep said to my mom? "We're trying to get our name changed in the future to avoid any confusion." Sure you are, at boardroom level I bet; what a load of BS! #FRAUDSTERS.
UPDATE: As of my mother's cc statement rec'd today (Aug. 28), it shows a CREDIT for ALL contested $13/mo. Fees including the original $2.
In conclusion, I reiterate that FreeShipping(.)com together with the partner shopping sites and credit card companies must work to avoid these ambiguous, confusing, and costly (incl. Time) opt in/out memberships & fees for all online shoppers.
I am shocked to see so many negative reviews. I have been a member for many years and have been happy with the service. I never encounter problems with my Shipping Rebates and only occasionally experience problems with my 10% Cashback but those problems are resolved. Issues can be resolved via their website and customer service is readily available if needed. I am considering dropping my membership because the $12.97 monthly fee is being raised to $20, probably due to ever increasing shipping costs, but my long-time experience with freeshipping.com has been totally positive.
Freeshipping.com is a total fraud and scam! They steal your money without authorization. This so called company is CRIMINAL!
I paid for over a year of membership and had submitted around 15-20 claims that I had provided the required proof of purchase for and when I looked after a year I realized I had received 0 rebates and never received notices that I had not provided whatever other info they needed so I could get my rebates. They just quietly took my money. I thought I was getting my rebates all along until I wondered where the rebates were going and my account had $0 worth. Of course I wasn't eligible for much of a refund because I had it for over a year.
Paul in customer service was very rude, and a company that uses misleading practices is not a worthy company…
Had this random charge coming out of my CC for months and had NO idea! Had to cancel my CC and get a new one to stop it. If you see it on your statement, GET RID OF IT!
We didn't intend to use their service. Not sure how we got into it. And we were charged for almost a year without knowing it.
reeshipping.com is a total fraud and scam! They steal your money without authorization, and you never get any services or it. This so called company is CRIMINAL!
I've gotten hundreds of dollars back from using FreeShipping.com. As another review says, you use their website as a portal to go to other websites and shop. Then you take a screen shot of your order summary and you can get free shipping from some merchants and for some merchants you van even get 10% cash back. At a specific time of every month, you'll receive a payout. And yes there is a monthly fee. So why do so many people feel this is a scam? Well probably because people are too stupid these days to pay attention when they're doing things online. Freeshipping offers a trial of their service, and a lot of websites partnered with Freeshipping.com so that when you buy something, they offer you 10% off your purchase. A lot of these idiots giving freeshipping.com.bad reviews opted into that 10% off because they thought "OoooOooOo free money!" And then they forgot that they signed up and now it's FreeShipping.com's fault? No, you're an idiot. You signed up. It's not a scam. Some of these people are so oblivious to the things they do, some day they'll look down at their own kid and think someone broke into their house. FreeShipping.com is a great program. The only thing, and I mean only thing that I've found that I don't like is there's no easy way to change the billing card you used. You have to contact the customer support first. Other than that, it's a good program.
I just noticed 2 freeshipping.com charges on my bank statement. I did not knowingly sign up for this and I am very careful about what I sign up for. I called the number on the website to cancel and asked how it happened. The cust. Service rep said I would have signed up for one thing and didnt read the fine print. This seems like a scam but everything I read says it's legit. I don't even understand how the site works
Answer: Their advertising is a little sneaky I give you that. But that's your fault, just like out on the city streets, a fool and their money is soon parted.
Answer: Hi Christina, unfortunately I can't locate your account using the information here. Can you please reach out to me directly at [email protected]?
Answer: What's so dishonest about it? I am a regular subscriber and can easily recover my subscription fee many times over.
Answer: I did, but only after threatening to report them to the Attorney General in my state. They rely on the fact that few people will make a fuss.
Answer: You have to buy items from a website…anything from eBay to BATH & BODY WORKS, OVERSTOCK…many others. Go to "freeshipping.com" then delete the site from which you plan to buy-it will direct you to that site. (I always take screenshots of final receipts to add to my freeshipping.com submission), Afterwards you need to enter the purchase date-total cost and shipping cost…then a code is given. I have timed myself-the submission takes 35 secs if you are fluid on the computer. Have been a member for over 5 years and saved hundred$$! Trustworthy site-w/discounts as well as freeshipping (up to $10/order). $500 max shipping refunds per year…no limit on 10-20% off discounts!
Answer: Hello, Any cash back you earn as a member is yours to keep even if you choose to cancel. Thanks!
