I had a reservation to pick up a car rental. I arrived as instructed and they said they had no car available unless I paid an extra fee, doubling the price that I prepaid online. There were 3 other "customers" there who were told the same thing. This bait and switch is very dishonest. They know that you are relying on the rental car and that once you arrive if they double the price, they put the customer in a difficult position. The African American woman and her manager who "assisted" me were so nasty and unprofessional. What should have been an easy car rental pickup became a huge hassle and totally messed up our plans while on vacation. Do not use Fox rent a car. Apparently they do this to everyone or at least everyone that day at that location. After almost 3 hours I left WITHOUT the rental car I prepaid for and it has been almost 3 months adn I still never got a refund although I requested a refund several times. They kept my money and did not give me a rental car. I am taking them to small claims court to get my money back, and more. What a huge hassle. Worst car rental experience ever!

Now I'm out the insurance cost plus their admin fee, even though I never wanted their coverage. This pushy upsell and rigid policy cost me time, money, and peace of mind. Fox Rent A Car sold me unneeded insurance, then refused to honor their own promise to review it. Bottom line: Double-check every fee before you sign. Don't trust that a post-rental phone call will fix anything. Be ready to dispute charges with your credit card if they won't refund you. I'm reporting this to my bank, the BBB, and the CA Dept. of Insurance. Hopefully sharing my experience saves you the same headache. —

I returned the car on time but they invoiced me for an additional 3 days plus late fees. Customer service has been terrible and no one has responded back except for an email to give me back 1 day since I told them I wasn't even in the State on the day they say I returned the car. I asked them to check the video to see I returned it on time. They said no telephone was available at the counter so they would have to send an email to the San Jose office to confirm. I haven't heard back. This has doubled my bill!
Rented a car for my father, paid for it, put down that my dad was coming for the car. Once dad arrived they did not allow him to take his rental because he didn't have the credit card with his name on the rental. Which I filled out who was to come get it. Had a horrible experience figuring it all out. Where all they could do was cancel our rental. This is a waste of time for me and my dad to purchase and have him go through this stupid situation. Not renting from them again!
Absolutely terrible. Worst online experience I have ever had. Booked a car and then needed to change pick up time more than 24 hours in advance which is says you can do... Except the website would not allow it and waiting on hold on multiple calls for over 4 hours because we kept getting disconnected was not enjoyable. Only to be told there is nothing they can do. If we don't pick up the car within 3 hours our reservation and deposit is gone. Never again will I use these guys.
If you want a company that gives you phone numbers that hang up on you. The quality of there customer service is the PITS. You can't even reach Roadside Assistance. The number I called I was on hold for 25 minutes only to be hung up on several times. Roadside Assistance keeps you on hold for 22 minutes God Forbid you needed someone right away. Renter Beware.
I flew into Vegas and hopped the bus like everyone else to find that I had to take another bus that goes to Fox Rental Cars out a ways from the rest of the rental companies. When I arrived I had to stand on a line for nearly one hour. When it came my turn the vehicle I had reserved a few months back, they had none. You then went outside and stood on another line that took two hours only to find that they had nothing that came close so they gave me a chevy traverse suburban which is much longer in length, it was hard finding a space and when I parked, it was harder backing up without a camera. The following day I took it back and they gave me a Jeep Liberty which was hard steering and noisy road sound inside, I brought that back the following day and they finally gave me the vehicle I had originally requested. I will say that the manager tried to do the right thing, but standing on a line for 1 hour and then standing outside on another line for 2 hours is just not worth the money you save because when you have to leave you have to return the vehicle then jump on Fox bus and then jump on to the bus that takes you to the airport, is it worth it, NO. I will never do this again, oh, and by the way I am in a motorized chair and it makes it much harder to get around because all the rest have already arrived and I am still catching up, so I am last. No problem, my turn does come. Many and I say many of the people on line were really pissed off and you could hear them saying this will never happen again. Bye bye for now. Stuart S.
