Can't believe Spring Break has came and gone already. Booked my flight on Skyscanner and found a deal to Cancun with Faredepot again. Deal so good that I booked the same flight for friends (total 5 of us) so savings added up! +PLUS for sure
My husband and I booked tickets in February for a September trip to Greece. We got the the airport to check in and found out that our initial flight time had changed from what out itinerary indicated and we had missed our flight due to the change. FareDepot did not notify us of the change (our itinerary was never updated to show the new time), and attempts to call FareDepot to try to fix the situation at the airport resulted in (1) getting an answering machine in the middle of the day and (2) eventually reaching a person, who told us they are not responsible for informing us of any changes to our flight. When we talked with the airline, they told us their records indicated that we had in fact been notified -- which was not true, and was more or less admitted to by FareDepot. I've never experienced worse customer service. I will stay far away from this company and warn those I know to as well.
DON'T USE FAREDEPOT! 10 months in advance, I booked a direct flight with Faredepot. 11 days before the flight, I checked the flight status with Faredepot, and everything was as originally planned. 3 days before the flight (while I was already on vacation) I checked directly with the airline on the flight status. The airline informed me that the flight had been canceled over 6 months earlier, and I had been moved to a different flight itinerary that departed an hour earlier, and had a connection. Faredepot refused to acknowledge their error in neglecting to inform me about this major change to my flight, or the fact that had I not checked with the airline, I likely would have missed my flight. After having to rearrange plans to take the alternate flight, I tried to resolve the issue with Faredepot, to which they informed me in e-mail that it is their policy that they are not responsible for informing passengers about ANY changes that may have occurred to a flight schedule, and that it is the customer's responsibility to check on their flight status within 72 hours of the flight. Basically, if you book with Faredepot and there is a change to the flight itinerary, don't expect them to tell you about it, and hope that when you call the airline 72 hours before the flight that there haven't been any major changes.
My mom used this site. She purchased tickets to Russia through faredepot. When she got to the airport there were no tickets in the system. Long story short she had to buy a new ticket with CASH! Because airline was only accepting cash or Amex. It took a bit of running around the airport in search of a bank machine. Meanwhile I called faredepot right away to see what they could do for us. This joke of a company reserved the ticket but did not communicate with the airline to generate tickets. They charged my mom's Visa, (but thankfully refunded her later). And then the customer service rep had the nerve to lie. He said that the tickets were not issued because she did not confirm her identity by replying to another "security check" email they sent. My mom did not receive any email from them, and she checked inbox, spam/junk folders just to make sure! How do u proceed with charging a card before confirming identity? My poor mother barely made it to her flight, and had to take Valium to calm down after the stress that she had to endure. Never again~
The site is a total scam. I booked a flight twice with them and both times did the same thing... shame on me TWICE! They took my reservation and all was fine. Shortly after I got an e- mail saying they were doing a security check and charging my credit card an amount between 1 and 10 dollars. I needed to check with my back and reply to them with the exact amount and then they will issue tickets. Well low and behold I did all that I was told they said they would issue tickets. One day before my 14 year old grand daughters trip to London I was told by them that the airline would not release the tickets and they cancelled! It was a total lie because I called the airline. My very disappointed grand daughter will not be going on her trip tomorrow because a day before I CANNOT afford a last minute ticket! It is a scam... Run!
I booked a flight through faredepot.com, and got a confirmation email shortly after. The next day they sent me an email saying it was canceled because I didn't reply to a "security check". They never made any attempts to reach me for this so-called "security check" via phone or email.
Then, to my utter shock, they sent an email to ME which was responding to a completely different person who wrote to their customer service department with the same complaint of a suddenly canceled ticket.
Both emails instructed each of us to rebook the ticket on their website, which had gone up in price by a few hundred dollars. THEY ARE SCAMMERS! BAIT-AND-SWITCH WARNING! RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!
Worst customer service company I ever dealt with. I believe that iit is a scam of a travel agency. Please DO NOT BOOK your travel with faredepot.com. Spread the word around so that we can get faredepot.com out of business ASAP. I am still fighting with them to get back my $4100. They are registered in Delaware and that should be a Red flag.
Faredepot is a fraud site.
I booked a ticket on april 3rd with www.Faredepot.com from Boston to Dublin.
Faredepot never issued my ticket but same day the company processed my credit card to book a hotel & car in lima under totally different name.
When I called them, they asked me to contact the credit card company to dispute the charges. They never explained to my why this happened in the first place.
This site is a fraud. They need to be reported to ploice.
