The worst experience buying the tickets online from FareDepot.
I use to buy tickets online often. Will never buy from this one again.
If you want bad service and some humiliation - go for it.
Wow what a great deal! Thank you! And I will use FareDepot again.
After booking a flight to Johannesburg through FareDepot at what I felt was a decent price, FareDepot notified me that they had charged a nominal amount to my credit card, supposedly for security purposes, and as soon as I confirmed the amount that they had charged, they would issue my ticket. I thought this was a rather silly process but didn't question it. This was on a Friday evening. After checking my credit card account for two days with no charge appearing, I finally called the credit card company to find out if, indeed, Fare Depot had charged this amount to my card and what the amount was. After some searching, the card company was able to confirm a pending charge, of which I notified FareDepot immediately. In the meantime, with no notice, my reservation had been cancelled and FareDepot advised me that if I wished to rebook the flight I had to start all over again. While I was really annoyed by then, I tried rebooking only to find that the exact same flight was going to cost me $30 more than the original one had. $30 is not a lot of money, but it's the principle that bugs me and the fact that if they had charged the full fare to my credit card in the first place, as I expected them to do, the charge would have been approved, I would not have had to spend more money for another flight, and it would have saved another couple of hours of my time searching for other flights. I do not recommend FareDepot to anyone, and will never use them again. Add to that the fact that in their communication to me their letter was full of spelling and grammatical errors which leads me to believe that this company is not very professional.
I was hesitant about booking a flight with Faredepot. After reading few reviews, I decided to risk it. I booked a return ticket from Canada to Argentina, for 6 weeks. I got there without a problem. However, after 2 weeks there, I had the need to change my return date, meaning returning Asap. I call Faredepot numerous times. They never answered their phone. I called 5 days in a row, 3-4 times daily. No answer. I sent them an email, they replied: we will contact the airline and get back to you asap. I NEVER heard from them. I contacted myself aircanada and fortunately enough, after 3 tentatives, a very helpful man made the change for me. Charging me only 150$, even if he had to change multiple Flights, including different airlines. I've been back for a week now and still haven't heard back from Faredepot. In summary, they sell cheap flight with no customer service. Not worth it.
They cancelled my flights less then 2 weeks to my trip and didn't call me to let me know or email me about it. When i called them to complain they were impossible to understand, and when i asked to be transferred to someone with an understandable English, the company rep refused and hung up the phone on me. I wont be using them again in the foreseeable future.
I was quite impressed with the simplicity of finding flights that I was interested in booking and the ease of booking those flights. The prices were the best online and the insurance option was great as well. The customer care representative Verden was also very supportive in the entire process. I will use Faredepot in future!
Hey Faredepot, you know what? I was really hesitant at first to click to your website out of several travel websites I've visited because you have the lowest price around ($50 less). But I was really happy when I found out that the price quoted on your website was really true. Unlike other websites that will give their price as the lowest and then when you try to book it, the price instantly increases to about a hundred dollars or more. So I'm booked, confirmed, and a happy traveler. Thank you... Faredepot!
My flight was not available to book online. The agent Barbara called me, spent quite a bit of time on the phone with me and booked my itinerary perfectly. I am impressed with your service. Thank You Barbara!
It was a wonderful holiday to Madagascar. The holiday was well planned, which meant that I was able to see a lot in one week. The tour manager, Amon, was really excellent - one of the best tour managers, I have had on a holiday of this kind. Well done Faredepot!
I have had the worst experience with FareDepot and would not recommend this site be used by anyone!
On January 9,2015 I booked a flight from Toronto to Korea. When I reviewed my flight on January 14th I realized they had me flying from Toronto to LaGuardia with a one hour transfer time to collect my luggage, go through customs and then travel from LaGuardia to JFK Airport for 12pm to check in for my 1pm flight. When I contacted Faredepot the call centre advised me they would not have sold me a flight that I could not make. I contacted the airlines directly and they advised me it would be impossible for me to make my connecting flight, therefore I was sold a fraudulent ticket as it could not be used. I contacted fare repo again to advise the airline requires 2-3 hour connecting flight time between LaGuardia and JFK and the call centre agent was of no help. I had to email, Facebook and call #AirCanada, #AsiannaAirline and Skyscanner before #faredepot would actually make any changes. I was on the phone from 2pm-8pm without resolution.
The following day Faredepot informed me they would incur a charge of $300 for changing my flight, but would only charge me $150. I refused to pay this and the airline recommended I argue this point with Faredepot as they sold me a ticket that could not be used. After several more phone calls with the call centre agent, they waived the $300 fee and altered my flights. This was January 15,2015. I incurred an additional $100 charge on my phone bill for having to remedy the situation that fare depot caused.
On February 8,2015 I checked my reissued flight from January 15th. The flight was non existent and appeared on #checkmyflight.com as having been cancelled. I emailed, was advised I would be contacted the following day and was not. I called and left a voicemail. I received a phone call at 12pm and was advised my flight had been cancelled by the airline, was not provided any further details and was told I would be called in "a few hours". I was not. I called back at 6:50pm and asked they return my call as it would cost me, yet again. No one called me and I called back at 7:15pm. The staff advised they were working on my file and I would be contacted by 9pm.
In the meantime, I have emailed staff who continue to advise me that I will be contacted when this is remedied. However I have not been provided anything above and beyond my basic flight which I could have booked through any other more reputable company. They have not offered me any form of compensation as of yet, not even a seat assignment to ensure that I have a seat on the flight in the event it is overbooked. I am constantly being told that I will be contacted ASAP. However, this is the second time fare depot has had to remedy by flight and I leave in two days. I am terrified that a third issue will arise and have no power in the process. I await a response as to what happened that my flight was cancelled and what they are going to do, if anything to provide me compensation for having issues me a. A ticket that could not be used (fraud) and b. The reissued ticket was cancelled and they were unaware of this fact until I informed them.
I would not recommend this site to ANYONE. My friends and family are appaulled as should #skyscanner, #aircanada and #asianaairline also be for working with such an unorganized, unprofessional, disreputable and discreditable company.
Please advise me of what other websites and/or organizations I may contact to advise of this disgusting experience. I am sick to my stomach and fearful that somehow my flights will again be messed up and I will not make my trip to Korea. What is supposed to be an exciting trip, has turned into a repeatedly stressful and anxiety provoking experience.
I would like to applaud Barbara’s customer service! She was a great comfort while I had to return a ticket. I had purchased a ticket to see my parents, and simply had to return due to a tragedy in the family. Barbara was very considerate about the situation. She was prompt and left no room for me to worry about losing $400+. I am very thankful that she answered the phone that morning. I will definitely be using your service again to purchase my tickets in the future, and it is because of Barbara’s warmth that I will recommend your company for efficient and quick ticket purchase. Thank you Faredepot!
I was stranded at Chicago airport in the middle of the night and was completely lost because of the airport security; I called Faredepot and Charles one of the customer care executives went beyond his designated duty and arranged everything for. He helped me with everything I needed. Not only he arranged for my hotel stay and cab but also the assurance he gave me helped me a lot to keep my cool. I would love to get back to Faredepot for all my flights. Thank you for your helpfulness. Cheers!
Guys I am sorry with the negative comment here …ollaala. Last December, I had planned a vacation to Las Vegas at the last minute to enjoy the X-mass & have a blast on 31st Dec. Too. I was not sure about how the trip would go about.
I took a customized itinerary from Faredepot, and I was left amazed at their expertise. Even within a short span of time they made a perfect arrangement for me taking care of all the details. Every amenity I received was beyond my expectations. Faredepot has made my vacation really memorable and I will
Surely come back to Faredepot for my next trip…
Cheers!
When I had to cancel my air tickets as well hotel rooms during my last holiday due to an emergency, I was worried of losing all my money and the cancellation charges would surely kill me.
But to my surprise Faredepot team was very prompt in their service and I got all the refunds as promised within three working days. Thank you guys for your excellent customers support team. Keep the good work, God bless you.
I used FareDepot.com on a last minute vacation, and I was thoroughly overwhelmed. Their website was simple and easy to use, both mobile and desktop versions. I had no anxiety with tickets and the price was unbeatable. I have already used FareDepot.com in the past and am looking at flights regularly! I highly recommend.
Thanks,
Anthony G
I wish I had read these reviews before booking. I searched for flights to Europe via SkyScanner, found what I wanted and was re-directed to FareDepot. I made my purchase and the next day discovered an error in the booking to a connecting flight. I called to see if it could be rectified and was told yes, but for a couple hundred $'s more, so I confirmed via email (as requested) and was told the change was made. Weeks later I thought I should check via the carrier's website and found to my horror, the entire outbound portion of my flight had been cancelled.
I called FareDepot about this and they claimed the airline cancelled my booking. So I called the airline and was told the reason my flight had been cancelled was because FareDepot did not enter the ticket data correctly so they couldn't issue the tickets. They even sent FareDepot a warning message through the booking system to let them know they needed to enter the correct ticket numbers into the booking or it would be cancelled. The deadline came and went and FareDepot did nothing about it.
After umpteen phone calls, all made by me - and having been promised by FareDepot they were "working on it and would be in touch within 24 hours" and NEVER fulfilled those promises, I got passed from person to person. I got given the run-around for weeks on end and spoke to someone different every time I called them. Heavy, hard to understand accents, together with being treated like a nuisance made them VERY difficult to deal with.
They then promised a full refund - with a $200 per ticket cancellation fee because they had offered alternate flights after some weeks of fighting with them that I turned down. I turned those flights down because they cut my vacation short a day and had me and my family (with a 3 year old) doing a 30 hour layover in Europe! And for that they offered just $50 compensation for hotel.
They've partially refunded my money but are now not answering further emails. They owe me thousands of dollars!
I do NOT recommend doing business with this company. There is no such thing as customer service with them. They do not seem to understand the booking process and they don't appear to give a damn about their customers. Worst service ever.
Zero Customer Service. THESE PEOPLE ARE INDIANS. NEVER DO ANY BUSINESS WITH INDIANS. I book a flight from Chicago, IL to Belgrade, Serbia. The flight was 880$ and it was on the 30th December. I got so sick and got some bacterial infection and I could not travel. I called these people to cancel it or get a refund. There was nothing about it.
They told me that I had to pay extra 450$ to change the date. I told them that this was too much for it. I do not recommend these people to anybody.
If I could give zero stars I would! I bought a fare with a layover from them and they told me that the two airline companies did not have agreement terms and they could not issue the ticket. They called me back later and said they could book the two parts of the ticket individually for an extra $400! They said my only option was to cancel my ticket or pay $400. This fare combination was and is still online but for a higher price! I told this to them when I was on the phone and they told me to repurchase the ticket. They messed up on the price and did not do anything to fix it! Wish I would have seen these reviews before buying! I was linked to them from skyscanner who should also take them off their site!
Lastly, their customer service was horrible! I could not understand their accents and when I emailed them, there were so many grammatical erros in their response that it made me feel they hired people who do not have full fluency in English. I have tried to look for some sort of email address for their sales and marketing team, but the one the phone reps gave me!
Stay clear at all costs! I would rather pay more for a flight then ever deal with them again!
I have used FareDepot.com and it was a bad experience. I missed a return flight from Lisbon Portugal to Boston. The way the book the tickets makes it so the carrier cannot change them. Of course, they were not open for business during this circumstance. The result was that I had to buy a full fare flight on another airline to get home.
I will never buy a ticket from a company who can't serve it customers during a trip abroad again and certainly never again from FareDepot.com
Like I mentioned, recently booked a flight on Skyscanner after doing a google and yahoo search for the cheapest flights. Then I found FareDepot.com and booked a flight from NYC to Ireland for my whole group. Nice looking website and saved a lot of money. Will definitely use again if it is always this worth it.
