I booked 4 flights to Greece i went back and for with one of the customer service reps regarding my daughters and son in laws tickets if we could get a credit voucher since my daughter could not fly to Greece per doctors orders. I was told we had to use voucher by Aug 31 2021 & fly to Greece by 2/4/2022 well my daughter would not be able to do that since she is pregnant and doctor said not to fly due to the delta variant. So I had canceled & took the chance of losing 1425. 00 but what happened is my flight was canceled i went back and forth the BLAME was put on ME I was told they couldn't do anything about it the flights were 2850 they would pay for half I would pay for half so my trip cost me double I had already paid for a trip they canceled 1425. 00 & had to pay for 1425. 00 so my trip cost me 5700. 00. I was told they are not Expedia & they cant afford to lose money since they are a small company. They knew they canceled wrong flight and they didn't fixed the issue! WATCH OUT FOR THESE SCAMMERS THAT TAKE TAKE YOUR MONEY. THEY SHOULD NOT GET A STAR AT ALL. WATCH OUT FOR THERE LIES!
They never refunded for a ticket they were supposed to. Big time thives trying to scam people. Stay away from this website.
The phone Number provided on their website doesn't even exist. They reply emails once in a while with the same automatic reply. I tried to get their help for a refund but no one can help me for months. Please do not ever buy from this website
I bought 5 tickets (about $3341) more than a year ago for a trip (US to EU) and my trip was cancelled in March 2020 due to COVID. They promised to get me new flights until Dec. 2021 in exchange of not returning the money. I have been trying to contact them since January of this year but they keep dragging their feet and not providing me new tickets. They have closed down their phone too. They are not genuine and conducting the business illegally. Buy thickets with your own risk with them.
I booked two tickets through FareDepot to Greece for this July but unfortunately due to corona virus as a U.S. citizen I am currently not allowed to enter the country. For this reason the airline 'Lufthansa' cancelled my flights. I reached out to FareDepot to receive my full refund which I'm entitled to per the Department of Transportation. I called for days and was never able to get ahold of anyone so I finally emailed and to my surprise they got back quickly however, they said there would be a $100 processing fee per passenger to issue the full refund which could take 3-5 business weeks before it shows back on my credit card. I found that strange since I had used the same card and transaction for both of the tickets. Why were they charging me based off the passenger total? I voiced my concern and they said they could reduce the "processing fee" to $50 each, so $100 total. I was upset because the whole thing seems sketchy but agreed. I clicked on the link provided and it took me to their "secure website" where I had to type in the amount I wished to pay and nowhere did it mention paying this amount would result in a full refund of my $2196. 70. I emailed Erik back and he said it was the only way to process my refund. He was extremely un helpful and did not reassure me in any way that I would be refunded like I asked. I got a receipt once I paid the $100 and now I just have to wait 5 weeks for a refund I hope I will get. So unprofessional and extremely criminal. Taking advantage of people who are already going through a hard time and charging a processing fee for something that isn't your fault at all. I will never book through them again and anyone thinking about it should absolutely pay a little extra and book directly through the airline. This is not worth the trouble.
I am warning people to never book through this website! I have been trying to get in touch with them for about 3 months now regarding my flight being cancelled by the airlines. I have not been able to speak with a real person yet, I have left voice messages and emails and nothing. They take your money and dodge your phone calls. I have not had any issues with any other travel agency besides them. If I had read reviews before booking, I would have never booked through them. I have reported them to the BBB, stay far away if you want to keep your money and don't want to experience bad customer service!
I had booked a ticket with them. They changed my ticket without any notice then i asked them to cancel it which they did.
It's been more than 4 months that I've not received my money back.
Every time when I call them or email them they say it's processing.
If I can give ZERO, I will do it
I have booked 4 tickets according to the price they listed in their web sites. They charged my credit cards more than the listed price on their web site. They told me that they will reimburse me with a check within 7 - 10 business days. It is about a month now and I have received nothing. I called them many times, sent many e-mails and still did not receive anything. STAY AWAY FROM THEM. They announce a cheaper price on their web site to decoy clients then charge you more.
I booked a business class ticket with them, and that was a massive mistake. The airlines ended up cancelling one segment of my trip, so I needed to rebook. Unfortunately they're just not a travel agent. They're simply a ticketing middle man. They have nothing to offer if your flight in case of cancellation or change. Phone lines are only for catching new reservations, and will not pick up if you choose option #2 (existing reservation). Email correspondence is super rude and will completely ignore your request. They really have no time or will for customer service. Use them at your own peril.
American Airline flight to Sydney was canceled by the airline. Fare Depot refusing to refund the money. 8 emails, threats, spoke directly to AA 2:30 am... over an hour on the phone and they verified I was due a refund. They, Fare depot are running me around. This is theft, no accident. Keeping funds when the airline verifies and accommodates a refund is shoddy and deceptive. Stay away... too much hassle. Fooling with the wrong client. I will be filing a judicial complaint and they need to pay me for my time, effort and trouble now.
We had the worst experience with this "company!" Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY! I travel all the time, and I've never had a worse experience than I did when I booked through FareDepot.
Awful service, careless stuff. All they care about is to steal your money. Didn't warn me that I needed a Schengen visa to make 2 stops in Europe. Yes, they can claim that all visa issues are the responsibility of the customers. But I'm not going to travel around this country, OK? I'm just buying a ticket from the point "A" to the point "B". Isn't it your responsibility to mention it on your website? Or all you care about is to sell me the flights?! At the airport I was told that they have no rights to do that without warning a passenger! When I tried to call them and get some help, they kept telling me that they are "working" on my case, and sending emails to the airline company. They couldn't even call to the airline company because "didn't know the number". They never called me back, never emailed me back never updated me as promised, unless I called them. When I get tired, I called the airline company myself- surprisingly, I immediately found the phone number just by googling it! Unfortunately, it was already too late, and I just lost the time waiting until the FareDeport to receive a reply from the airline company via email. I should have done that much earlier, instead of trying to get help from the FareDepot. The airline company told me, that if I called them immediately, they could put me on the another flight. Unfortunately it was possible only before the departure of the flight I booked initially. However for 3 hours before my scheduled flight departure I was contacting my travel "professionals" - the FareDeport stuff. In summary, absolutely unprofessional, rude, helpless, lazy, careless stuff, hungry for your money!
It took them 3 days to book us a flight after ours was denied. And still didn't do it! Don't even think about buying tickets through them. They tell us allow us 1-2 hours already 72 hours!
They didn't allow me to change a name mistake on my reservation. It's not like I was canceling the flight I was just changing the last name on my ticket. Any how they didn't allow to change it and I had to pay $100 to cancel it because they force me to. First and last time I buy with ridiculous companies like this. They are thrift!
I wanted to write this review after many months passed after I had a successful flight through FareDepot only to go over my experience and hopefully it helps someone. First of all, I believe FareDepot CAN (emphasis on CAN) be ok IF you do not make mistakes and remain vigilante. My experience as followed:
I reached them through Skyscanner and saw that they had a flight to Rio de Janeiro for $680 or something like that with United and layover in Houston from the USA. All other sites including United had the flight at $800 or more (apparently Faredepot was handing out a discount). I booked two tickets and I even picked my seats from the airplane map they had. Unbeknownst to me, I picked Economy premium seats or something like that which is extra. After I used my credit card (I don't recommend using a debit card), I googled the company and was alarmed by the negative reviews and bad experiences. I panicked. Luckily, I obtained my confirmation number and e-ticket that same night so I went to the United Airlines website and sure enough my reservation was showing up. However, I still called United to confirm and confirmed with them I had reservations. But, my seats were not selected ( i had selected them on Faredepot's site) so I was able to select my seats through United's website. I then expected that credit form some reviewers said they received or were supposed to receive but never did. However, that form never came (please have the person making the reservations use their credit card under their name or else Faredepot might have to verify with you that the card is not "fraudulent" and that is through the form you need to fill out). The next worry (based on reviews) was that United did not increase their price and or change the flight details (I ordered my tickets 2 months in advance). What I did was download the United App and I'm not kidding when I say I checked every day to make sure my confirmation number still showed up and the details didn't change. Well, fast forward to the day I had to fly, I was nervous thinking the worst (based on reviews) but luckily my brother and I traveled to and from Brazil with no issues and at a much lower rate. However, I was stressed for those two months before my flight so I don't think the stress was worth it. I think I was one of the lucky few.
FareDepot only gets you the reservation but if you need to modify ANYTHING from your reservations, that is when you may have issues (this included spelling errors so please make sure to check everything before submitting the payment if you end up buying with them). I hope this review helps someone out there. What's worse? Saving a few hundred or possibly losing thousands?
$15 to cancel. TOTAL SCAM. I would not recommend using this website, no customer service. Please do not trust this website.
I made reservations and SELECTED seats in Premium Economy for 3 passengers. While checking reservations today (Friday-flight on Tuesday) I discovered I had no seats. When I called Fare Depot I was told I didn't have seats because the airline makes the decision. I was told to call the airlines. At this time, there were only 3 seats left scattered and none of us can sit together. I was told by an employee and supervisor to call the airline and I asked them to call but they were too busy (I'm not important enough to make me happy). Nothing on the website said I had to call the airline directly to get my seats. I AM FURIOUS! They need to disclose the fact that they really aren't making a seat reservation and you have to call the airline! AVOID AVOID AVOID!
I ordered tickets for my honeymoon for me, my fiance, and his son (who was going to stay with his grandmother in Germany while we traveled Europe by rail). When my fiance broke our engagement out of the blue a couple of months before our wedding and left me holding the bag, Faredepot said they required $500 per ticket to cancel due to the tickets being bought through a bulk rate. I called the airline, and they said they would waive their bulk rate policy for me, and issue a full refund via check sent to Faredepot. When I contacted Faredepot about it, per the airline's recommendation, they said they would only issue the refund with a $400 per-ticket fee -- half the value of the tickets, which were cancelled with plenty of time to resell the seats to a popular destination.
Beware, this company is predatory and unethical.
Stay Away! I attempted to book through them. They cancelled my reservation without notifying me (claimed they sent an (singular) email to let me know - yet there was no email to be found). Ended up stranded at the airport the day of my flight because the airline had no record of my trip. Cost me an extra $1000 to finally get to my destination. When I tried to talk to them about helping me or making it right (they barely spoke English - thick Indian accent) they were worthless. Tried to speak to supervisor and was told "will call you back." I'll give you one guess what happened there. Stay away!
Stay awayy! My husband and I are starting a lawsuit againt them. Theyre overcharded us almost 4000 dollars on tickets we never used... and noe dont want to refund us and lied about giving us a credit. They are liars!
