Posting closed caption showtimes would be of great help to the deaf and hard of hearing audiences. If I could give less than a star for their customer service I most definitely would. Sure I am glad I never bought movie tickets for Christmas and birthdays and gave cash instead.
Security sucks because what if people wanted to post their ticket on social media and someone can steals it and use it without any other info at the do it yourself boxes need protection from that
Don't purchase from here. What a sham. I made a mistake... tried to buy Star Wars tickets for Christmas Day. My error... didn't notice until too late... that they were for today. Of course, with my luck the movie had started and Fandango would not refund or switch the purchase to the day I had wanted. Why would I every waste $26 on a site like this!

So the offer a refund policy with 2 options. Get your money back or receive a credit with them. I chose the wrong option and selected credit. So now with 6 days till Christmas I get to wait till I want to use $40 in movie "credit" instead of getting my money back. Why you ask? Apparently once you choose to get the cre`dit there is no WAY to get your money
What if I bought tix for a show and didn't realize it was for a theater out of state and when I tried to switch the tix and talk to a rep I was put on hold for almost 2 hours? When the rep finally got online, I was told it was too late and lost my money on 4 tix. They wouldn't even honor it as a credit. I didn't want a refund only a credit.
Just FYI - Fandango told me that there was nothing I could do about missing a movie, (I accidentally bought tickets for Thursday nights showing of Star Wars not Friday - I thought it opened Friday and didn't realize they sold preview tickets!) Anyway, I realized my mistake on Friday - after the movie. The customer support told me no refunds or exchanges, but the movie theater accepted the tickets and let us go to a later movie! Give it a try!
Worst customer service I've ever had! Tried to use fandango to order Star Wars ticket. Ordered them for the wrong day (honest mistake) tired to exchange my tickets. Tried to call customer service and was told there were too many calls, so I would up waiting for three hours on hold to try and fix my mistake. I was told I'm out of tickets because I didn't catch my error in enough time. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told they'd email me when they had time.
Fandango is horrible. Wasted $5.40 on a convenience fee that did absolutely nothing for me. Thought I would get a ticket to print out to avoid the lines to pay for a ticket. Nope still have to wait in line to get the ticket and now I am out $5.40 which means my popcorn! What a scam
I will use any means necessary to avoid using this company, and everyone who has a bad experience should tell the venue how much you hate Fandango. I bought some movie tickets from them a month ago but picked the wrong time, and I didn't notice until the day after the movie. I called and waited on hold for 45 minutes to speak to two robotic policy-drones who could see that I did not use the $47 worth of tickets but wouldn't do anything to help me out (of course I didn't expect a refund, but something like a $10 credit or something). Are they perhaps owned by that Satanic entity, Ticketmaster?
DJF, your review was not helpful what so ever, as a consumer I would like to know if the company in which I buy tickets from has a refund policy that I agree with. If something comes up, and I can't make the movie, I feel it is justifiable that I receive a refund for a movie that hasn't showed yet. Do not attempt to email customer service, they will not reply. I sat in two separate hour long ques just to find out I couldn't get a refund. The first representative disconnected before I could send my response...
After an hour waiting for customer service, they finally tell me that they cannot refund my money to the original card that I paid on and could only give me a credit. I bought tickets for Star Wars 7 for Thursday night but was informed of a family dinner after I bought them, so I exchanged the tickets for Friday night but the dinner was over before the Thursday night showing so I got tickets at the counter. Then Fandango says that they will not issue a refund to the original card that I paid the ticket with. Not only that, but they charge you 10% extra for a "convenience fee" when you still have to stand in line at the ticket counter for them to scan your ticket from Fandango to give you your ticket!
Worst customer service in the world. Booked ticket and immediately saw it was for the wrong day. Tried to change right away, but through the refund they keep the processing fee. Called customer service to get that refunded as well and they hid behind, "Our policy, yada, yada, yada". Making a customer happy is what you should be saying FU Fandango. Asked for a supervisor and was on hold for 10 more minutes until they put me in a voicemail. Never use your service again. EVER!
This is the worst site I've ever dealt with. You have to wait almost an hour for a chat. I finally gave up and called. Not sure why they call it customer "service" -- after waiting more than half an hour, they were no help at all. The movie tickets I bought online for the first time were supposed to be for two days later. Unfortunately, the date defaulted to the same day. I realized it the next morning. When I finally got through, I gave the confirm #. They can tell the tix weren't used yet they refused to give me an exchange. Instead they kept the money and I got nothing in return. $33.00 down the drain I call this daylight robbery and disgusting. I'll never go to this site again!
I secured 4 tickets with a promo code from a Black Friday Kohls special. My family wanted to see Star Wars on opening night… thinking it was the 17th of Dec I secured our 4 tickets with the code. Realizing afterwards that true opening was the 18th and there were conflicts on the 17th I went to my confirmation email sent by Fandango. It said"can't make the show- we know plans change" you are then instructed to enter in your confirmation code, which I did and it said I needed to talk to an agent via their chat. It said average wait time was 15 minutes, I was 15 in queue I ended up waiting over a hour, the queue would move up and down. In the meantime, I looked up their FAQ section, nothing in there about exchanging tickets off of a promotional code… it was not until I waited over one hour, that within the first 5 seconds of them looking up my info, they said no! Joe the customer service person said it clearly states at the bottom of each page their policy… I said it doesn't, I have it up. It didn't matter that I explained that I followed the online instructions and waited to talk to agent, it didn't matter that the email didn't state all purchases with a code you cannot exchange, none of this mattered, I was semi thinking that he could tell how long I waited to talk to an agent and he would have felt bad. Nope, he just said, it states at bottom of each page, non exchangeable. He made me feel like an idiot. I was searching their FAQ's, I followed the instructions and got me no where. He said the corporate office does not take phone calls, I could not call them with my story. UNREAL! I will never use their service, not even for free tickets! What company does not want to hear from the customers that there are issues with their process?
I ordered 2 tickets for a saturday showing. I went to pick up the tickets and they were for friday and it was for 4 tickets. They would not do anything about it, so I guess Im out. I will never use them again. I wish I would have read reviews first.
I received a Fandango gift card, and was quite excited to use it. When I went to get the code from web site ( which is a big hassle really, why can't you just use it?!) I was charged a Convenience FEE! Really your charging to use an already purchased card, not to mention the fee of the card it's self! Thank goodness this was a gift, and not something I bought! I will NEVER PURCHASE A FANDANGO GIFT CARD AGAIN!
You can't print out separate tickets, they just give you one for everyone, that's ridiculous. I've never seen something like that before. When I complained about that, I got a message creating an account for me, rather than doing anything to address my concerns.
Purchased tickets this past august through Fandango app. Charged me twice. Purchased tickets again last month and charged me twice yet again. Never received an email confimation until the second attempt, but then the first confirmation just happened to pop up along with the second. Took them 3 days to get to me just to tell me to call customer service. When i finally called, i was given a refund for the movie last month but nothing for august.
This is a gerneation of expectations within the customers world that fandango hasn't heard of. Never book through them.
If youre trying to get a refund from these guys guess what? That convience fee? Isnt really for you its for their convience, Not only am I not getting the full price back, but I also have to wait 3-5 business days to get it back! When it takes less than a second for them to take the money out of your card. I was planning on switching my 3D tickets for standard after I was refunded, but nope the movie will probably be sold out by the time I get my money back. Ill never use Fandango again, why is it that every other company can give you your money back that same day but not you guys? Your thieves thats why.
Answer: Shauna, try Ken's suggestion. After years as a loyal customer & "Fan" of Fandango, I had an issue that should have been easily resolved. When I finally spoke to a live CSR, the response & subsequent email were robotic & useless. I now buy gift cards from the theatres & save my $$ and time. Good luck to you, though!
Answer: You do Julie S., but if you purchase it within 2 hours of the movie you are out of luck and that's what I happened to do. I accidentally chose that same day rather than the next day (Saturday) and since I was within a 2 hour time frame they said too bad. Never will use them again that's for sure. It was an honest mistake and I explained that but the woman on the phone was very nasty.
Answer: I would try emailing them, unfortunately there is no one to call as far as I know. If that doesn't work why don't you try calling a theater near you that takes fandango, ask for a manager. Answer: I didn't wake up with a dead horse in my bed but all other evidence in dealing with Fandango indicate that they are mob-owned. Perhaps the mob has more morals. Maybe not mob-owned. What would be worse than the mob because that's likely who owns them. Difficult question to answer. Best not to do business with them anyway.
