I've tried everything to buy tickets on Fandango. Impossible. Spoke with 2 Fandango agents and deleted my cookies... did everything they wanted me to do. The last agent put me on hold and lost me. All I want to do is to buy a few movie tickets, but now I'm so frustrated I'm just giving up.
Reasons are simple and apparent:
1. You need to pay 10% Convenience Fee by using Fandango.
2. If you forgot to watch the movie, you will not be able to get refund or exchange a new ticket.
3. Really bad customer service, the live chat person whose name is Shevaughn is ruthless.
Unable to complete my order after 4 times trying. The site was slow and would not let me get through the whole process.
Negative 10 star if that was an option. They list the price as "bargain" price; but it is the same price as you could get at the theater. On top of that, they charge you 20% convenience fee. Then you still have to stand in line to get your tickets. It is a total ripoff. Do Not Ever Use them! They should be out of business.
We accidentally bought tickets to the wrong show, 49 minutes before it started. Since it was less than 2hrs before the show, they said there was nothing they could do to help. Simply offered me the advice to be more careful next time. Thanks Fandango. After such great customer service there's no need to worry about next time.
Fandango's website kept glitching causing me to hit the backspace button. When I finally made my purchase I received my confirmation order. Immediately I noticed that not only did it select the wrong date, but it selected the WRONG THEATRE. I'm in FL and it selected a theatre in NEW YORK! When I contacted Fandango right away, they refused to refund the "convenient" fee because I didn't select the option for a full exchange. WHY ON EARTH would I select the exchange option and run the risk of them screwing up my order AGAIN! I get it Fandango, you make money off of your website's issues and probably are high fiving each other every time you make another $9.00 convenient fee profit. Jovian, customer rep and Diane, manager, could care less about their faulty services. It is VERY EVIDENT that their number one priority is ripping off their customers. This is a huge problem with large companies. They could care less about their shady practices. It's all about greed and taking advantage of others. I had no idea Fandango is a horrible company that thrives on ripping people off... I do now!
Folks! An area where you are able to control the errors that you experience on your purchases, is to use the summary page provided on checkout.
This will eliminate the need to request your money back and be disappointed when they are not able to offer it.
If you wish to make changes to your order this will allow you to click the orange F to the left of your checkout screen to start the process again. Never select the browser back button because this will create more problems than can be solved.
This is the best advice that I can offer, my wife used to work there, and she had to leave because of the stress of not being able to help with things that the customer has control over. These guys are not bad at all, but match your expectations to what they tell you on the information pages rather than what you think the company should be.

I ordered my tickets an hour before the movie, I had car trouble and couldn't make the show. They offer no exchanges on their website if it isnt 2 hours before the show. So I had to wait til the next day to contact customer service who told me I basically screwed myself buying tickets from their crappy buisness. Never again will I use them and I will also let all my Facebook friends know how terrible they are.
I bought an advanced purchase for star wars on 12/19/15, and I get an internal error message after purchase. I then get 3 charges on my card, and I cannot get a response from them. My first time user, and awful customer service. Trying to contact someone to get my money back.
Fandango has horrible customer service. I accidentally purchased tickets for the wrong day and realized after the fact. I tried to explain my situation and they did not care nor did they look to work with me on my upcoming purchases.

I just purchased 4 tickets by mistake on the fandango app. The app glitches I guess and ordered the tickets and charged my car. I ordered them at 8:25pm and the movie started at 9. I called them right away and was put on hold for 23 minutes. They finally answered and told me they would not refund it. They fought with me until the end. I even talked to a manager and she wouldn't do anything for me. I spent over $1000 on movies and they could care less. Clearly they don't want ours or yours money so stay away.
I booked 9 tickets yesterday for the Bond movie at 4.10. The movie has not been out long, so we figured that paying the $12.50 Fandango fee was worth it... When trying to print out the infomation 1 hour to the show, we discovered that I had booked the wrong movie :(. . Contacted Fandango if we can change the movie or book one of the later, hopefully available, shows. Well guess what, since it is less then 2 hours prior to the movie they can not do anything. So $91.- down the drain!
Selected wrong date to see a movie online. Won't exchange for a later date, because of "2 hour policy" I'm now out 30 dollars. Oh and if you stop payment on your purchase they ban you from the website. I hope corporate see these poor reviews and get their heads out of their asses and changes the policy. I'm not using them to purchase tickets anymore. Yet another reason why I don't go to the movies anymore.
Fandango is the worst on their refund policy! I ordered and at the top of the check out page it clearly states: VIP Benefits Included in this purchase: REFUNDS and EXCHANGES. However they expect you to click thru to read the fine print of their policy to find that refunds and exchanges are only granted if requested more than 2 hours before the showing. For a service that promotes advance purchase of movie tickets, I've got to believe that most of their customers are buying within two hours of showtimes.
This is a typical BAIT & SWITCH! You think you are getting a great benefit with flexibility and WHAMO! Not true. I even tried to chat them about my experience and got a stock reply from a Bot. Will not use this service again.
We received Fandango gift cards but didn't realize their site now makes it impossible to use them. I can't believe some attorney general hasn't shut them down, but the one where we live is about to hear about this $#*!-clown operation.
I received a $50 gift card. Succeded in buying two tickets at $19 each after fandango 'fees' for a movie that should have cost $10.50. We asked to have the tickets texted to our phone, which failed, twice. Next day called custoemr service, and was told that money was gone, they showed that our carrier got the text, nothing they could do. This isn't how customer service works-- we didn't use the product, we should get a refund. Fandango is just terrible.

I purchased a ticket online to and was charged for 2 tickets. I contacted them through online site and called they were not helpful at all. I was not refunded the money since I purchased the ticket 1 hour before show time and refunds are only given 2 hours before show time. Purchase at the theater don't waste your time or money. Worst ever

Purchased 2 tickets in FTW, TX, in Oct 2015. Went to the Tavern Ridgmar and the tickets were for Tavern 7th street. I had to pay again at the site to watch the movie. I asked Fandango if I could exchange for another selection and they said no. I just blew $24.50 on nothing. I will never use this site again. I will just take my chances of a sell out at the location. It is sad to treat people that way. Fandango won $24.50, but lost much more in the future. For reference, confirmation *******.
Answer: Shauna, try Ken's suggestion. After years as a loyal customer & "Fan" of Fandango, I had an issue that should have been easily resolved. When I finally spoke to a live CSR, the response & subsequent email were robotic & useless. I now buy gift cards from the theatres & save my $$ and time. Good luck to you, though!
Answer: You do Julie S., but if you purchase it within 2 hours of the movie you are out of luck and that's what I happened to do. I accidentally chose that same day rather than the next day (Saturday) and since I was within a 2 hour time frame they said too bad. Never will use them again that's for sure. It was an honest mistake and I explained that but the woman on the phone was very nasty.
Answer: I would try emailing them, unfortunately there is no one to call as far as I know. If that doesn't work why don't you try calling a theater near you that takes fandango, ask for a manager. Answer: I didn't wake up with a dead horse in my bed but all other evidence in dealing with Fandango indicate that they are mob-owned. Perhaps the mob has more morals. Maybe not mob-owned. What would be worse than the mob because that's likely who owns them. Difficult question to answer. Best not to do business with them anyway.
