Treated like dirt, had to spend $250 to move a flight that originally cost $300 to a day in the weak that was cheaper online, spent 2 hours over 3 separate calls to get this changed
Don't book with them. Just book directly with the airline. They refused to charge the reservation on to a different credit card when I called just a few hours after the booking and said they will have to cancel it and re-book it and charge a $99 cancellation, even though it was within the 24 hours time frame.
You are much better off booking with the airline directly.
They sold me a $108 one way ticket and the day of flight I find out my reservation been cancelled without letting me know. They offered a ticket for $462 and I had no other choice and I purchased the ticket. Since it wasnt my fault and it is the way they make money. I put stop on payment through my credit company. I should handle this very smarter by reading the reviews. All reviews are one star.
I wanted to change my flight dates and they charged me 460 $ for two tickets, what is of course too much. I paid with my credit card.
Surpisingly, after two weeks I found out that they charged me for the second time 460 $ using my debit card (which I used for ticket purchase). Thanks God, there wasn't overdraft. The next week I spent trying to get my money back. After 10 days I got my money back, but... on the credit card! Why? I don't know! But I had a surplus on my credit card. These guys wanted to destroy my credit score. Don't have any business with them!
If I can give it less then one star I would. I repeat do not give them your business. Get in touch with your Mastercard, AMEX or Visa holder and make sure there are no odd transactions with Explorertrip. They dinged me two penalty fees for a cancellation made prior to 48 hours. I get that and I was cordial during our first conversation. They called me back again, wanting to reverse one, and charge me full for a flight, even though I have two confirmation emails saying I will be dinged 100 dollars x 2 for the cancellation. You will not be able to communicate with them at all. I promise you nothing will get done over the phone. I will be going to as many sites as I can to issue a firm warning. You get what you pay for an I will never book with them again. I'm posting this to as many review sites as I can. This is a wheel you do not want to spin.
Exploretrip.com is the worst company I have never had to deal with it.
I booked a flight with them and I received a Flight Confirmation email, mentioning "Congratulations, your flight has been booked!" and "Paid"
I didn't receive additional news. Finally, I called them. My 2 first calls were cut!; finally when I could continue the conversation with someone, the person told me that the payment was declined by my credit card for fraud! They never contacted me in order to see what is the problem, given that it is usual in some countries that, for security reasons, you have to call your bank to unblock the payment. However, the website of the company has to inform you in this situation (it is easy it tooks 5 minutes; I did it many times since I am travelling in Asia). Their customer service doesn't know this; so there is nothing to do with fraud!
It is not acceptable! The customer service was not helpful and they just put the responsibility on my shoulder rather than think about their mistake.
They should learn how the world works outside their country! And they should learn about their responsability (i. E. send a message asking that the paiement has to be confirm by calling my bank; it is how it works in some countries).
They shouldn't send an email claming that my flight has been booked and paid. It is misleading. It could be considered that they have deliberately mislead me in order to prevent me from going to check with other companies.
Shame on them!
Since I had this bad experience I found many comment online in order to alert about this company. And these comments were true: this company is very bad.
I bought roundtrip tickets at an incredible price through ExploreTrip.com from Washington DC to New Zealand. After two days they told me that they could no longer honor the price. I called and they said that it was not the airlines fault that they put the wrong price on the website and that they wouldn't honor it. They then went on to say that it was MY fault because I didn't read the email thoroughly, and because I didn't check to make sure that my card was charged. Besides listing prices that were not accurate they were incredibly rude and tried to blame it on me! I will NEVER use them and would never recommend them due to their incredibly rude service crew, as well as this is the 2nd time that they have listed wrong fees on a trip and blamed that "It's not our fault".
Please don't spend any of you're money on this agency, they are a scam and they will not give you're money back if you try to get a refund. Please, please do not trust this agency. If you like getting robbed then there is something wrong with you.
Look at all others' comments. Please trust these innocent people.
I was trying to reschedule my flight, but there was no other way except calling the service center. A staff told me that I had to pay $200 cancellation fee or $100 for changing fee, so I asked her to change my flight. She told me I have no direct flight but one stop flight over $1,000, where I was watching their website saying 9 seats direct flight tickets available at $940. I told her this and she told me that it is probably because seats are being booked and disappearing really fast, so that I had to hurry. She told me she's going to hold a ticket and at that point I trusted her. But I could book the direct flight by myself. After telling her that I booked mine, she told me she went through actually buying the other 1 stop more expensive flight, and the cancellation fee is $100 + non-refundable tax which sums up to $205. It was less than 3 minutes after the booking.
And... here's the highlight. She knew I was flying from LAX to ICN, because it all started from canceling that flight. What she got for me is from Tampa to ICN, with a stop at Detroit. I still have to pay all the cancellation fee and non-refundable tax.
I hope I could persuade you guys enough not to use ExploreTrip with this incident.
I have been having some problems with this agency too. I did my own research to put a complaint and I found there is a in thing in California, where the agency is based, called "seller of travel". California requires all sellers of travel to register with the Attorney General's Office and to display the registration number on all advertising. While not assuring that a company is reputable, a valid registration signals that the seller of travel has at least followed the law to be registered. https://oag.ca.gov/travel This agency is registered in this program.
There are some ways to put a complaint and it says some people may recover their money through the TCRF website under some circunstances. https://oag.ca.gov/travel/consumer.
Rigth now I am trying to put my complaint, although I have some problem with the website, but maybe you could put yours as well, If we do not recover our money at least this will work for the Attorney General to take some action.
I just booked my flight on Dec 25@ 11:40 PM to fly on Dec 30. Immediately, I received email having he itinerary with PNR & REF numbers. Nothing in the email mention other than the ticket. I didn't open my email for two days and when I opened my email today, I found two emails; one on Dec 26@ 12:16 PM requesting some documents need to be submitted within 4 hrs from the emai from in order to confirm my ticket, and the other email on the same day@ 9:55 PM saying that my flight is not confirmed since I didn't provide the requested documents in the required time and hence my money will be refunded within 3-4 business days.
I replied to them requesting a clear reply either my flight is canceled and my money will be refunded so I can book another flight or the flight is still confirmed but no reply yet.
Now two weeks since the refund email but still didn't receive the refund. I sent them several emails and they replied that they processed the refund back to my credit card. I ask them for the refund invoice but they say that they don't make refund invoices.
Definitely poor rating and will never use this agency in the future.
I booked a flight using explore trip earlier today. I have two separate charges on my credit card and two flight tickets for the same trip. I wrote to their support staff about it and they are charging me a $100 cancellation fee, for something that is completely their mistake. Terrible experience, would definitely not recommend this site, it's completely useless. They don't even have an option to cancel the flight directly- you HAVE to call or email them, so you're completely at their mercy.
I wish I could give it fewer stars.
I booked a ticket with them that had 2 stopovers. While booking such a ticket I was not issued any warning about visa requirements and it turned out I need a visa for the stopover even though it isn't an airport stopover in the same country.
When I asked them to change the booking to one stopover (which is only one leg of the return trip) they charged me $750, which is about the price of a full new ticket! And 70% of what I paid for the entire round fare!
This is unacceptable service and I will never advise anyone to use exploretrip again
I cancelled my ticket and they sent me an email that they will issue a refund. After several emails, they only kept escalating the refund process but never really refunded. If they dont give me the refund, I will contact the BBB and make sure that they are made to pay for the mental torture they have given me.
I would never advise anyone to buy any tickets from exploretrip.
THEY ARE SCAMMERS! NO MATTER HOW CHEAP THEY SELL YOU THE TICKET IF YOU NEED PEACE OF MIND JUST DONT BUY IT FROM THEM.
I want to file a lawsuit against this company for all the mental harassment and FRAUD they have caused and the # of desperate calls I have made to resolve my problems. IF ANYONE ELSE feels the same we should file a JOINT LAWSUIT to shut these scammers!
I think this is so far the worst decision in my life to book tickets with these guys. I have lost $3k. I have received no compensation on my bookings and customer support was rude to tell me you have lost the money and did not try to understand the situation at all.
1. They over charged my credit card and did not bother to tell me until I checked my credit card.
2. If that would have gone unnoticed on my side, I would lost another $600
3. First they do not explain if rescheduling would incur additional cost as I am booking 6 months in advance and then later claim "Oh Sorry we missed telling this" and I end up paying more money for something so ahead of time
4. They do not or I guess they don't want to understand customers problem at all
5. They give no *special conditions while making a purchase. To explain it better, If you book a certain flight from Dest A to B with a transit at C, they will never mention that you NEED A TRANSIT VISA
6. BECAUSE OF #5, I was denied boarding and lost all my money
And in the end they did not even reply to my customer support email nor offered any compensation.
I booked a deal on Exploretrip.com and then realized I needed to cancel. I called back immediately and was charged $76 to cancel. A week later I was charged a second booking charge. So essentially I was charged 3 times for a flight I had already cancelled for a total of $2297. 54. This caused me an overdraft fee, which the company refused to refund. They even tried to keep the $76 fee they charged to cancel a flight they never cancelled and would not offer any discount to have me return. THESE PEOPLE ARE AFTER YOUR MONEY! DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM!
I should have read the reviews before booking with exploretrip.com Our trip to Miami from Va(for two people) through them on AA cost me $671.20 when it should have cost $356.08! I called AA to check on the price stated on the ticket to see if it was correct as it was so much less than I had been charged by explore.com and they assured me that it was and to call the agency to dispute their charge.
Of course they have refused to refund me the over charged amount.
I feel very angry and ripped off. I have learned to believe the reviews left by other people and never to book through them again.
I didn't like: Being scammed, Will never use.
My son bought two non-refundable tickets from EXPLORE Trip, online last July 2017, from SFO to New York and Virgin America was the airline carrier. However, due to the reason beyond our control, I cancelled the flight and was instructed by Explore Trip, to call Virgin America if they would allow the flight to be cancelled without cancellation fees and penalty. Virgin America, allowed us to cancel the flight without any penalties because of the reason I gave them. I tried to call Explore Trip, to book us for a flight next year in Alaska, but again I was advised to call Virgin America if they would permit us to fly next year in Alaska Airlines. Virgin America's Rep. Told me, that they had given the credit to Explore Trip in the amount of $684.60 that I had paid last August 2017. Explore Trip can book me with any airlines that I wants. But, this scumbag will not allow me to do that and their reason I could only fly with Virgin America from SFO and New York. The call center for Explore Trip always had different alibis not to give you the credit you deserve. This scumbag violates consumers protection act, such as unfair business practices and fraud against consumers. WARNING: DO NOT BOOK ON EXPLORE TRIP. THEY WILL EAT YOU ALIVE.
I booked a flight from London to Vancouver through Skiplagged, and, after taking a fee, they passed it off through their partner Explore Trip. Explore Trip sent a confirmation of booking to me, then, just before the flight, they sent me an email stating the flight was no longer available. They did refund my money (while Skiplagged kept the fee they took from me), but it was a huge hassle having to sleep in the airport and try to book another flight home... Avoid this company and their partner Skiplagged if you want to save yourself stress, money and time.
I booked through Explore Trip for my flight to Asia. The day before my flight, I contacted them trying to figure out how to reserve my seat. The lady I spoke to explained that it'll be additional $25 and I asked if that was the total charge, she confirmed that it was. After reserving all my seats she quoted me with $140. I asked why I was charged with $140, she explained that I have 4 flights and it's about $25 per seat that is being reserved. I said no way. I'm not doing that and requested to speak to her supervisor. She informed me that they are busy and to expect a call later. I called back after 4 hours of not hearing back from them. The gentleman informed me that he doesn't see any charges and there's no note about a supervisor contacting me. I asked him why was I quoted $140 for reserving my seats, he said that's not right, it should have been no more than $20 per seats. I said Ok, let me think about it and I asked whether I could reserve them for no charge if I contact the airline, he beats around the bush and said, for this particular airline you can't they'll charge you. Overall the conversation with this rep was pleasant and he was very patient, so I complimented him for his service and thanked him. He asked if I can share my comment with his supervisor, I agreed to it and remained on the line. Immediately the supervisor was on the phone. He asked if I can give a good review on some site.
My problem with this was why was it hard for me to get to a supervisor when I needed to complain but it was easy for me to speak to him when I needed to give an appraisal.
After I got off the phone, I decided to call the airline about reserving my seats, they guided me through. I found out that I was able to reserve seats without a charge. After finding this out, of course I was pissed. I can't trust this company at all. They are not ethical and what they are doing are bad business. They are scam artists so be careful before you book anything with them. I don't want the same thing happening to anyone else.
