Myself and my partner just completed a tour of Mexico and Guatemala with Exploretrip.com.We had a small group of 6 including ourselves and our tour guide however it was an amazing tour. Our tour guide went over and above his role as a tour guide. He had wonderful knowledge of everywhere we went, gave us wonderful experiences, read the whole menu to us whenever needed and overall made our holiday a memory we will not forget. The tour its self was very fast and busy however we enjoyed this pace. So much...

These people are thieves, pure and simple. The messed with my order, trying to jack up the price. Then eventually they said, "Sorry, we couldn't book the flight for you." This was only 24 hrs before the scheduled flight!

Later, I discovered that they HAD charged my account despite having not issued the ticket. That, in my book, is thievery. I am trying in vain to recover the funds.

The worst experience we had in our life! Never had to deal with people like the employees at this place. Please stay away if you can! Nightmare! We booked the tickets with them in may that were $5,400.00 for 4 people traveling different dates. They tried to charge my credit card for over $45,000.00, when we called them they just laughed at us. I had to close my credit card and dispute the charge that they put on credit card for one of the tickets. Its been over 2 months and we are still dealing with them. Stay away!

Basically exploretrip.com people are crooks and liars. I had to cancel my ticket due to illness of my girlfriend. We had ticket insurance, but getting it requires a letter from the ticket seller that we didn't get anything back. Explore trip first said we need to pay additional $600 and wait for the month and they will return the money. Then they didn't return anything and promised in e-mail to send the letter. Then after 15 more phone calls they said they will not send the letter which means i don't get anything form insurance. Every time you call, they lie that the manager is out and he will call and he never calls. In the end they offered to give us credit on explore trip, which means for sure that they got money back from the airline but wouldn't give it back to us. Stay away from these crooks for a thousand miles. We will.

Please stay away from this site. The price displayed on your confirmation page will be different from what the charge will be on your credit card. I recently bought 2 tickets to India. They sold to me@$992 whereas my credit card was charged $1042. Where are my $50? And its two tickets. So, $100 bucks loss. Called many times and very few lucky times when you get a customer service, they promise that the check is on its way for $100. It's been 3 weeks like this. I lost hope.
No wonder the positive reviews are by the site employees itself. Please do not fall for the cheap tickets trap.

I had a really pleasant experience with exploretrip. This is all because of Pete, the most responsible customer service Manager I've ever seen. I was origially desperate for the service of exploretrip representive, since I was told my flight was non-refundable if I cancel the itinerary. Just last night, I found here, and knew Pete's information and spoke to him and asking for help. To my surprise, Pete helped me solve the whole problem within 4 hours! Because of him, I would still choose exploretrip for my next itinerary, and also recommend to my family and friends.

You will lose your money
January 12, 2011

You will lose your money. Customer service of this site is the worst. If you need to change or cancel your flight, this company will not do anything. Anything! Even if you send e-mails, they will never respond. If you call, you will not likely to reach to the operator, because they pick up the line and hang up immediately. I called for seven times and finally could talk to the operator. He said he will check and send me an e-mail, but I did not get any e-mails nor new e-tickets. I sent e-mails, but they did not reply. I called for additional five times, and he replied that he will check and send me an e-mail. I did not receive any e-mail again, and------, this repeats forever.

I recently booked tickets to India (from USA) through ExploreTrip and my overall experience was okay. I found this website through another air-fare site online. They certainly did have the lowest airfare among all sites i visited (incl Kayak, Vayama, Orbitz, Hotwire, Webjet etc). While i read some mixed reviews from other fellow travellers regarding their ticketing experience with ExploreTrip, i decided to take my chances due to their lowest fare. Two things that i recommend others to keep in mind- First, ExploreTrip's booking website doesn't seem to be compatible with Firefox. I would hit submit after putting in all my details and the system would not process my request and would return the same page with all my details cleared out. This happened 3 times which is when i decided to try Internet Explorer that worked rightaway. Second, while you get a reference # immediately (i booked my ticket at 1am), I had to wait 15hrs post booking to get an airline e-ticket #. I was worried (given the mixed reviews about ExploreTrip) about not receiving an e-ticket # and I called the customer support center 2 times. I spoke to either a Sam or a Mike and while they answer your phone call, they did not do a good job in assuaging my worries. The first time i was told that i would get an e-ticket # by 12pm EST since the booking engines at 1am do not work (not sure if this is true) and the next time i was told that booking system was slow and i would get my ticket by 6pm EST. Was a little harried since i felt i was losing time and money (not getting a satisfying answer) in booking a ticket at an affordable price from an alternate website. However, i did get my e-ticket # and i cross-checked my ticket on the airline's website and everything turned out okay. So maybe what i was told was true and my worries were misplaced but overall thumbs up to ExploreTrip for the price. Oh yeah, these guys are based out of India (atleast, the call center is). Will try them again. SV

I had the worst travel experience because I booked through this bogus website. The price they list on the itenary is bogus. The final price is always 200 dollors higher. They do not disclose this while you book. You just get the charged on your credit card. It happened to us and a coupole of my friends.

When asked about this, they just say they will send the check to make things right. They never do. They just keep on saying the same answer like a recording. DO NOT BVELIEVE the positive reviews. They are obviously posted by the owner itself. No compettitor is petty enough to go writing bad reviews. If a compettitor does write the bad review how do they get the benefit just by writing on one website. Where is the logic in that?

It's the worst company I ever dealt with!

I bought the ticket from their website and my credit card was charged w/o problem. But I never receive the confirmation from them. No matter how many time I sent the email, they would't reply me. Today I called them and it's great that someone answered but he told me my ticket wasn't confirmed even though they already charged my credit card. They promised me to refund my credit but never try to email me back to leave any words. Hope I can get my money back.

Believe me, stay away from exploretrip.com!

Hi, This is Sheril and i booked my airtickets with exploretrip a fortnight back to travel from Atlanta to London. We booked 4 round-trip tickets to travel with my friends. Based on our recommendation of exploretrip to our other friends they also booked their airtickets with them. All of us consolidated could save some good dollars for our travel. All of us found that fares to be very reasonable as compared with our regular websites, where we used to book earlier. We have not faced any issues while booking, after booking and in travel. I found their services and offerings ot be quite legitimate and wish them good luck for their business and looking forward to use exploretrip for my next travel. Reason to write this review after was to show the other side of coin after seeing many negative talks. Generally it always happen, if we are not happy with something we always give a shout to its peak and if we are happy with something, we keep our-self quiet. Any business will have some unhappy customers, but that doesn\'t mean the website is not good for all. Sometimes it's our mistake as well when we try to expect more than the offerings. Good luck all and would recommend all to consider exploretrip for their travel.

Today I called exploretrip and asked for their help with a booking problem that I had. Pete, a C/S rep. Helped me for almost an hour as he got my ticket cancelled and called the airline and arranged for a refund. They do serve their customers!

This is really a crap site, I've never seen before. Despite many bad online reviews about this site, I booked my ticket via this site and kept calling them several times for the e-ticket. After four days, they sent a mail saying that due to some technical difficulties they couldn't book the ticket. When I insisted them for the reason, they used their standard excuse that it could've been due to my credit card. Later 2 days I saw them publishing the same price (cheapest), so I called them again to get me the tickets immediately on the same price what they've published. Now, they admitted they've some problem in their website and it'll be fixed soon, which again is a lie. So, please be aware these guys cheat people and don't share your credit card details to them.

THE WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE! I have bought a round-trip ticket through them for $549 (after all the taxes and fees). The confirmation came right away, somehow not stating the price. Next day I've checked my bank account to find out that they have charged me $589 instead. I called them and they told me that I bought the ticket for this price and sent me the itinerary. I went to their site, found the same flight to see the $552 price. I told the peson I was speaking with (Sam) to connect me to the manager. He wasn't available and I had to call back several times that week to finally get ahold of him. The manager (Arthur) explained the mistake as some glitch in the system, because charges went up and I got charged later that day (when their site was still showing $552?) So he said he can either refund the ticket or send me a $20 refund as an excuse. By that time it was late to buy a ticket from another site - the prices were already higher, so I agreed to $20. It's been 2 months after they were supposed to send it and the check hasn't come in yet. I've called them several times and they either say that the manager is not available or simply hang up on me. I'll file the complaint with Better Business Bureau, too.

This is the worst, worst, worst experience ever! I booked the round-trip ticket unfortunately through them. 24h passed by and didn't get the eticket. I called them once - said the credit card I used was declined - namely American Express did not process it. AE said there was never a charge on my credit card. I called him back - by the way his English is very rusty - his next excuse was that the ticket was canceled 2 days ago - what? I booked it 24h ago but my ticket was already canceled 48h ago - this is like a back to the future. While I was on the phone they emailed the cancellation. Smart but too late. Again he said this connection did not exist. So I persisted and booked another one, called back and gave him 4 hours for etickets to be issued. Guess what - he didn't do anything again, saying that they experienced "technical issues" - whatever it means. After couple hours being on the phone - what a nightmare - my case was unsolved and decided to go to somewhere else. Stay away from them. Hope that Better Business Bureau can do something about them. I will definitely file a complaint.

I haven't had a worse customer experience yet! I gave them the credit card to them and then tried to call them every day for 4 days! To get my airline confirmation number on each day they said wait everything is fine then on the last day they said the price was $500 more. After trying to speak to the manager (Arthur) who hung up on me, I booked the tickets for $400 over what exploretrip promissed directly for the airlines (delta) for the same flights!

I will never use them again and if you are not sure on using them i would advise not to

I booked my tickets with exploretrip.com couple of times in the past and also for my upcoming trip. I always get a better deal without and problems. I strongly recommend this site to all. I can see many negative reviews here and i am sure this must be from their competitors, so though of giving the real user review. Trust me, you can trust this website for their fares.

Please avoid this website like the plague! Its 'cheap' fares are quite simply bogus and above all it doesn't deliver you a ticket, even if you pay full, high prices for tickets. Yesterday I found a great fare to Europe on the site, pressed 'select' and then entered all the information for 3 travellers. When it came to purchase, a message popped up saying that 'this itinerary is no longer available' and I was re-routed to other fares, much more expensive and the same as airlines' own websites basically. This was only the start, though. I continued and eventually found another decent fare for a flight the following day, booked it, entered credit details and then purchased the ticket. This time I got a confirmation, including an email saying that my e-tickets would be mailed within 3 hours. A day later, the tickets never showed up, despite the flight being only hours away. I tried calling customer service but nobody answered the phone - I wasn't even able to leave a message as their voice mail system was full! Trying to email them, I received no reply. Basically this is a shambolic outfit and can not offer the reliability one requires for good travel. Please avoid this site and stick with a more reputable company. The low fares on this site are really only illusory.
