I booked two tickets from EXPLORE TRIP, and I couldn't go so I cancelled it. They told me they would give me refund when I called them in the airport. However, after few days they told me my tickets were non-refundable by sending me email. They said I could use that money to order the next trip just pay another $200. But, when I decided to book two new tickets, they told me I need to pay the rest of money which is higher than I paid before. If I don't want to pay, they say there is no tickets through the days I want. Terrible service. WTF!

I want to sue this company. What they have done to me counts as theft. Anyone willing to go in with me on this?

I decided to cancel my flight end of February 2015 since I wanted a different airport option that this service told me they couldn't accommodate. They immediately dinged my CC for another $250 fee for the cancel. I continued to email and call the customer service "team" for information about the flight refund... different answers each time. The last call I was told I would receive a refund of $825 on a flight that cost me $1,074.06. Today (5/5) I received a check for $699.06. With no explanation via email, phone call or on the check stub did I receive info on why the difference. I can only guess that Explore Trip charges a fee on top of the airline fee (which I was never told or given the amount). FURIOUS!

If you want to see a Better Business Bureau D+ rated company in action try ExpressTrip. I got double booked and called them to let them know. And I've been waiting 4 weeks to get it resolved and still nothing. They don't call me I always have to initiate. It's been literally my worst experience with any company in the travel industry.

Hi all,

Sum-up:
GO AHEAD & BOOK JUST, IN CASE OF AN ISSUE, expect to spend at least 30 min with a customer service representative => why should you do that? They are $300 cheaper than the others. Note for the management, please change these stupid forms!

Details
A. Good prices & good customer service
Exploretrip.com has good prices, indeed the best ones, even when you book (very) last minute. The customer service is very professional and patient (big up for Chris Martin) and I know how hard it is to keep your cool when dealing with customers facing issues all day long, I've been there. Remember when everything is fine, (almost) nobody calls to say "hey thanks love your company you guys are doing a good job!" Me, I got an issue, so I got to call them.

B. Weird internal processes.
While the customer service is amazing, company's processes are a bit weird.
Please if there is a staff from exploretrip.com reading this, copy-paste the following to your COO in an e-mail. => Guys please make more money by generating more sales & improving your retention rate as well as your online reputation, for god sake!
When you call the customer service [those people are truly dedicated], they say to you that, even if their management is requiring them to send a form that requires your full bank information (the full credit card number & expiration date) you actually need to provide only your last 4 digits of your credit card, the name of the bank & the name of the card holder => same standards as Amazon, Priceline, American Airlines in their confirmation e-mails.

C. Solution to avoid form issues: how to fill up their stupid forms in case of an issue:
1. For the form you need to fill in you just fill in the name of the credit card holder & the 4 last digits of the credit card
2. For the picture of your credit card you can hide everything with pieces of paper => except the name of the bank, the 4 last digits of the credit card number and the name of the card holder (industry standard requirements).
3. For the actual picture of your physical ID (driver licence, passport or ID) they just need to see the name of the credit card holder and you may hide the rest of the written information.

Really bad. Like what I've never seen before. I booked my ticket via this site and kept calling them several times for the e-ticket. After four days, they sent a mail saying that due to some technical difficulties they couldn't book the ticket. They gave me a excuse such as my credit card being bad. Later 2 days I saw them with the same price, so I called for what they've published. Now, they say the website will be fixed soon. What excuse for a company. So, please be aware these guys cheat people and don't share your credit card details to them.

I would caution strongly against using this site. It really looked like I had a successful booking but then they failed to confirm my booking and sent an email over 6 hours after my apparent booking looking for additional information. It ended up being a major fail and potentially screwing flight options. I would expect much better - if a ticket isn't confirmed it should be highlighted in a majorly apparent way and the customer not just emailed but called to let them know of the trouble.

Calling customer service didn't reveal any potential insight into how problematic this setup is. I would say they were polite and composed, however.

Travel agencies are required to provide important information to passengers, that is the fight between the airlines and travel agencies.

I needed to change my flight, EXPLORETRIP not only didn't tell me my ticket was non-refundable/non-changeable; furthermore they do not announce it anywhere in the email receipt. This means that during the course of my 24 hour cooling off period I could have canceled, and paid a slightly higher price and taken a changeable fare, which I would have been happy to do.

I have also checked on their website, and no one in the booking process for the identical flight does it mention this.

Their customer service "Patrick Williams" told me that they do not state it everywhere because it depends on the fare. This seems like a bit of a circle jerk. So the only time I find out is in the event I need to change it? And then I discover I cannot.

After speaking to the airline they also confirmed this was a fare that had no refund/no change rules.

DO NOT BOOK ANYTHING THROUGH THIS COMPANY. It's sad that we only write the reviews after the fact of being ripped off, in the future I will always be sure to check reviews on any smaller agency that sells tickets online that isn't well known.

The worst travel agent I have ever seen. Don't book you ticket hear. It is really hard to talk to the customer service. They always put you on a long hold. I am really disappointed. I want to change schedule and it takes a long process, they always tell you to wait for couple hours and call back..

EXPLORETRIP.COM PROMISED TO ISSUE A FULL REFUND FOR MY TICKET CANCELLATION SINCE THE AIRLINE WAS DOING THE SAME. THEY NOW REFUSE TO ISSUE THE REFUND!

I booked tickets to Israel on July 2nd through Exploretrip.com. Violence in Israel began on July 8th with rocket attacks reaching all parts of the country. I contacted Exploretrip.com to inquire about cancellation and refund. At first I was told by an Exploretrip.com rep that a refund wouldn't be issued, but after I explained that the airline was offering the option to cancel for a full refund due to the escalating violence in the region, the rep said that I could receive a refund. I asked the rep to cancel my two tickets. When I asked for a confirmation, he replied that wasn't necessary, and that I could expect to see the refund in 2-3 weeks. I saw no reason to suspect foul play since the airline was offering a full refund without penalty.

Two months later, and a refund wasn't issued. Now I'm being told that I wont receive the refund. I've called every day for two weeks without even being given an opportunity to speak to a manager. What scares me now more than ever is all the bad feedback I'm reading about Exploretrip.com all over the internet. How can such companies be allowed to remain in business?

Completely satisfied with the given service and assistance. Tickets were booked correctly and they did not charge any additional payments. I paid once and received what I wanted. Tickets were confirmed by airline company and eventually I had a good flight. This service is highly recommended.
