Terrible Experience
August 2, 2018

Getting your money back for cancelled flights takes over two months. Do not book with these folks even if it saves you money, their customer service is absolutely terrible.

I had a problem with my booking. An agent booked me from SFO to Tokyo via 2 stops in China. That is bad because I needed a Chinese Visa and could not board my flight. I was stranded in San Francisco. But their agent SILAS spent over 1 hour helping me get going again. Thank you SILAS. Great customer service.

ExploreTrip scam
July 17, 2018

Ticket counter at the airport was not able to issue tickets due to my passport expiring in less than 3 months and I was going to have a layover in a country that had that requirement. This wasn't ExploreTrip's fault they simply book flights and have no power over airline or country policies. I called them back to hopefully get some sort of refund or partial credit, no luck there as I was told it was considered no show and now has $0 value. Nash (service rep) kindly offered to book another flight and make sure they'll accept my passport. He found another route and told me I will not have any issues with the passport. I felt forced into transaction, it was very expensive, but was told this is my best bet since I am trying to fly out by next day, even gave me -$600 supplier credit and -$100 personal code, and main kicker no passport issues. Glad I started double checking, went to ticket counter of newly purchased flight, they printed out a document showing that my passport has to be valid for 3 months. I called Nash back, he refused to cancel transaction, told me they simply book tickets but have no power over airline policies (then why did you book this flight?!), told me if I want to cancel I need to pay $500 cancellation fee. His tone of voice changed all of the sudden. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! All they care about is taking money from you, what a scam.

I cancelled a flight that was with both American Airlines and LATAM and they will not let me use my credit with American Airlines, only LATAM. Agents are rude, yell at you and hang up on you when you express dissatisfaction. Never gave me a valid reason wh I can't use American Airlines for my credit and do not care about helping me what-so-ever.

I booked an international round-trip flight through ExploreTrip for $684. The next day I was sent an email asking for a copy of the front of my credit card (an Amex, so the security code is on the front), a written letter of authorization and a copy of a government-issued ID. Not only, in my 18 years of making transactions on the internet, have I not encountered this requirement with any company before; I thought the request was invasive and excessive. This is especially so considering this is my first (and last) transaction with the company.

I was too busy to call ExploreTrip that day. Within 24 hours of the first email I received another email to say my booking had been canceled.

I am currently - more than an hour and 20 minutes in - on the phone with ExploreTrip. The first customer service representative was not helpful when I said I would like us to handle the verification over the phone. She passed me to another person, who did not identify himself as a supervisor, who was ineffective in explaining why ExploreTrip needed this when other companies are able to process transactions securely/without hard-copy evidence.

It took a lot of digging and painful communication on my end for the supervisor to admit that I could book the flights again with another credit card where ExploreTrip's additional verification may not be necessary. The person then realized the flights I originally booked were now being sold for $932.51 - around 40 percent more.

I asked what ExploreTrip is going to do about it and was told it could only give me a $20 credit towards the re-purchase. I said I wanted to speak to the supervisor's manager. An hour and a half later, I'm still waiting on the phone and have used the time to write this account on multiple websites.

I like a good deal but I enjoy my time more.

An hour and 37 minutes later... ExploreTrip has ended the call while I was on hold.

I do not recommend ExploreTrip and I hope it reads about this experience. There are so many travel websites out there that I would be foolish to use it again.

I am going to write to the CEO, Prasad Gundumogula, with a complaint via: pgundumogula at mondee.com.

HORRIBLE!
June 13, 2018

I logged into United.com and for some reason the site directed me to Explorertrip. They charge me $1,129.20 roundtrip for 3 adults which I'm ok with the cost but then the 2nd day I was sent another confirmation with a charge of $859.20. On top of all, they wanted to charge me an extra $100 to reserve seats because they said the main cabin was full as we will not be seating together unless I paid the additional $100. LIARS! I logged into United, there was plenty of seats available and was able to sit us together. Exploretrip is an outsourced company in India with very poor customer service. I've received various confirmations/PNR numbers. Their excuse is that they are experiencing technical difficulties. When I confronted the agent on the phone that I will never ever book with them. His answer was "Ok, no problem" I was like... Really?. WOW! My next step is to call United directly to make sure we are listed in their reservation system. I don't want to encounter any last minute surprises/mishaps on our November 2018 vacation.

I booked a trip on March 12,2018, the transaction amount charged on my credit card was $3358. 02. The same amount was charged again on my credit card on 3/13/18, and I reached out to investigate. I received an answer that it was charged twice due to their technical error, and the refund will be granted. I waited the amount of days they told me for processing, no refund was issued. Since then, there were multiple communications via email, back and forth, Exploretrip continued to say the refund has been already issued and it will take 7-10 business days, but it has been more than 2 months and I am still fighting to get my $3358. 02.

Do Not book with Explore Trip. The worst service i haved faced ever in my entire experience. I have booked a flight ticket which shows free of cancellation, and i called a representative and asked him i am trying to book so and so flight, can i cancel it any time? He replied yes you can up to 24hrs before departure. I tried to cancel flight 4 days before. But they denied my request and in reply they are saying our bookings are non-refundable, none of our representatives would said to you like that and we have verified call records as well. As a customer right i have asked them can you prove that to me with by showing call recording o me? Can you send a call record copy to me? Or can you just put your speaker where you recorded it so that i will listen through phone? But they denied and spoke with with dontcare attitude. If the mistake is not with their side why are they hesitating for proving it? It was a bad experience for me, i dont buy a flight ticket in future with explore trip. I dont recommend Explore Trip to any customer.

I received an email that my flight, May 23rd - 29th, was rescheduled for June 14-17, which is absolutely unacceptable. It's been 7 days now, and I still have not been able to reschedule or cancel the rescheduled flight. This is THE worst customer service I have every experienced. I'm a 27 year old Civil Engineer that works in construction, so believe me when I say i know bad service. DO NOT BOOK THROUGH EXPRORETRIP

Complete Liars! I don't even know how to start this review! Please do not book with them! Please trust all the negative reviews! Spare yourself some headache!

I booked a flight with them after a few hours I got an email for confirmation but not yet a ticket. The next day I got an email asking for some documents like copy of cc, passport etc and they need the reply within 4 hrs or else they will cancel and refund you. In short, I read the email after 4 hrs so I called their customer service and the person I spoke to said that they already cancelled it and refunded the card and ask me to wait for 7-10 business days. It is more than 15 days already today and we still have not received the refund yet!

Does anyone have the same experience? Please message me.

I bought 3 tickets, same day I got the confirmation and the e tickets. Everything looked perfect so far. Two days after I got a cancellation email because during the validation process with the credit card some information didn´t match (?). But they charged the tickets in my credit card. It has been 10 days and I haven´t received the refund. The customer service is awful, they have made wait for so long, the information they gave is not reliable, they just say "I understand. I am sorry for that" but meanwhile the money is gone...
I cross my fingers to get my money back!

Booked a trip to Hawaii and had to cancel due to a death in the immediate family. We called to cancel and requested a refund or credit. We were then told if we cancelled, we would be charged $50 per person and retain our credit. However, in order to use the credit, we must call to make our booking, which will apparently result in another $150 per person to rebook with the credit.

We called the next day to prepare to make our booking with another representative and was told that to rebook the flight, it will now charge $300 per person. This makes no sense at all because now we would have paid 3 times the amount from our original flight. We tried to understand why this would cost so much, but the representative made no sense at all as the flights we saw on Exploretrip.com were cheaper than what was quoted over the phone. We asked to speak with a manager and was put on hold for over an hour only to be told to call back later or leave a phone number and we would get a call back within 2 hours.

We waited 4 hours later to call and was put on hold immediately for an hour. We then called with a second phone to ask for manager. The manager admitted to us that all of their customer service reps work on commission. Therefore, this makes our credit basically useless because they make up their own numbers to give to their customers only to benefit themselves. This manager then told us that the fee to rebook would be $200. Representative #1 told us it was $150. Representative #2 told us it was $300. Now, the manager told us it is $200. In the end, we have to pay double the amount of our original booking.

Do not use Exploretrip whatsoever. Scam company!

Fraud
March 14, 2018

On Feb 19th I received a cancellation email from exploretrip so i called them to ask what happened? They told me that there was an error but the reservation is SET and CONFIRMED so I asked them to send me a confirmation email just in to have something in writing.
They sent the email off while I was on the phone with them.
Fast foward to the flight. I sent my mother 70 years old and grandmother 90 years old to the airport and they were told the tickets were cancelled.
Customer support told me that they wouldnt do anything for tickets and that i was better off sending them an email. The manager Rowen was basically pushing me off and wouldnt do anything even though i have the emails showing the mistake was made by exploretrip staff.
Never use this company. They export all their customer service to india and wasted 4 hours trying to get the issue resolved with my elderly mom and grandmother sitting at the airport for 10 hours for a last minute flight.

We bought a fly and we never received the confirmation e-mail. We had to call 4 time to know that our fly was cancelled for no specific reason because we asked and they never told us the reason. They also take our credit number and try to bought an other fly, so a 0$ transaction passed on our credit card from airline company.

I tried booking a flight with this company last night and they sent me an email telling me my card was declined so I rang customer care to try book it again as I thought maybe I entered my card details wrong. A man called Alam answered and I gave my card details again and he told me its taking a long time that he will email me and let me know if its gone through. A half an hour later I get another email saying it was declined so I thought it might have been my card as I was using my Irish card and i'm in Canada so I rang with another card and Alam told me they don't accept Visa Debit so I told him it doesn't matter. Five hours later I get an email from this company telling me the booking is confirmed and they took the money out of my account without me giving any authorisation or knowing they put through the payment again they took it upon themselves to use my card details without me giving any permission! The customer service and cancellation department are so unhelpful and won't put you through to anyone higher than a "supervisor" and won't give me a refund even though they booked the flights themselves with my card details. This is FRAUD and a joke of a company so everyone PLEASE do NOT book through Exploretrip! I wish I saw these reviews last night because I definitely wouldn't of went near them.
