I booked a room for my parents through Expedia accidentally (I have had bad experiences in the past with Expedia). So, when I didn't receive a confirmation, called the hotel directly and found out I had booked through Expedia, I was afraid. Rightfully so because my room was incorrectly reseverved. I paid for a king size room and was booked for a single room with a small bed. The hotel couldn't change it and calling Expedia was a joke. On hold for 45 mins, 3 different representatives and a suggested additional charge, I was told they would try by manager, Megan. I refused to pay anything for Expedia's mistake and decided to warn any and everyone NOT to use Expedia. There so many other options.
I thought expedia was a great idea but logging on to the website I realized that the same prices are available directly through the hotels themselves. Often the price given on expedia is inaccurate to what is actually available at the hotel/airline.
I prefer to just join a specific chain's rewards program, stick to a chain I like, and soak up the loyalty rewards :)
Booked to Moorea Pearl Resort Spa in Moorea, French Polynesa through Expedia, both gave us the run around when our travel plans changed and informed them accordingly that we will not be able to fly in that particular day. They kept the money with an an e-mail saying "sorry", keeping over $340 for doing absolutely nothing. Keep your hard earn money and book directly with other hotels, NOT through Exepdia - crappy and unreliable service when traveling abroad. You'll save your hard earned money and headaches later if you have to change later on. Expedia and Moorea Spa Hotel, what a joke both!
Any place I want to go Expedia always has lot of great options to choose from.

Been in some shady sercustances with hotels in foreign countries, Expedia always got it sorted out. I travel, I am a traveller, Expedia is only way to go, I don't trust anyone else!

Answer: You were lucky to get through to anyone at all at Expedia. I've spent hours and hours and hours over three days trying to get through to anyone on their customer service phone line, their chat line and their e-mail, all to no avail. They really owe their customers much better customer service.
Answer: Demand to speak to a Supervisor though you better have time because it will take anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours. Once the Supervisor does nothing or little to nothing to resolve your concern, ask to speak to a manager. Get ready to really wait. DO NOT ACCEPT THE "WE'LL HAVE A MANAGER CALL YOU WITHIN 24 to 48 HOURS" When you figure out you don't matter, sit down and right a review!
