Expedia's reputation is significantly marred by widespread customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and issues with booking accuracy. Many customers report difficulties in reaching live support, leading to frustrations over incorrect reservations, unexpected charges, and inadequate responses to cancellations. While some users appreciate the variety of options available through the platform, the overall sentiment reflects a lack of trust due to perceived unethical practices and inadequate support during critical situations. This feedback suggests a pressing need for Expedia to enhance its customer service responsiveness and transparency to rebuild consumer confidence.

Thank you for your valuable service. Very reasonable priced items. Compared your prices with open market, yours very cheap
I just feel like someone has to say this. Sure, expedia makes it easy to find what seems like the cheapest prices, but if you really want to pay less, you have to look around and see cheaper ways to fly to a place.
I've used it quite many times over the past few years and as far as I can remember Ihave never had any problems at all. Absolutey legit!
Very helpful. She was so calm and got me a very good deal. Thanks in ton. May good bless her. Asset to the company and management. Definetly call her in future to schedule my family trip.
I signed up on this site for flight deals and I constantly get emails advertising hotel deals, which I am not interested in and never asked for. Seems that's the only deal they can come up with. I do not like this site at all. Never seem to be concerned that I signed up for one thing-flights.
I have been a customer of VRBO.com for 5 years. Since Expedia acquired VRBO and it's affiliated companies, they have really shafted customers and Renters.
-
For example, every guest must pay online.
NO checks allowed or they threaten to shut down your property listings.
-
They are in my opinion GREEDY, because every Rental now has a 9% "Service Fee" added, which is just done to add profits for Expedia (the parent company).
-
Additionally, by forcing online payments, bank fees are 2.5%
-
In summary squeezing the little person, by adding an 11.5% profit to the company on every rental, is totally unacceptable, and forces the price of the rentals down from prior years when there was no service fee.
-
This is my own personal opinion. I believe in America freedom of speech is still allowed.
-
Add Expedia, they rule with an iron fist, threaten customers, and have change their pricing model to do nothing but increase their stock price which is going down.
-
You have been warned, so please think about doing business with Expedia and they're affiliated companies carefully!
-
Buyer be aware - they don't care about customers, travelers or even their employees!
The absolute best Travel one stop shop. Deals are always present and even emailed to you based on your favorite destinations.
I will close my expedia account. I used for over 5 year and I did not get any advantage. The reward program is a scam. Ciro Trombetta Member ID: *******124
Re routed my flights without even my knowledge or approval.
Refused to rectify. 4 hours on phone to the. Disgusting
After deterioration of service with one of their competitors, we switched to Expedia last year. The online experience is no better (can sometimes be tricky to navigate) and you may need to contact customer service for complicated travel arrangements. When we have done that, we've had unfailingly positive experiences with their reps - all very helpful and very polite.

Eight hours after I booked a hotel, $70, at New Orleans, LA, I found through a mobile site at priceline.com a lower quote for the same hotel exactly on the same stay date. Then I filed an application for price match. Their CS were not willing to look at the fact, and just say their price quote is lowest one, so it is of totally useless to argue. Absolutely I don't recommend this online company. They are lying and are not trustable. I recommend you to use priceline mobile site, perhaps you would find really low price for hotel.
I can always trust Expedia to provide the best pricing for any travel I do. I recently booked an all inclusive to Mexico and the whole process was very easy.
Love that I can find packaged deals on Expedia, it makes planning a getaway easy based on where you want to go.
I had a couple of cancellations recently with Expedia and they are pretty useless to try to rebook a canceled flight. My advice is book directly with the airlines.
I've used Expedia several times when out of town and I need to unexpectedly find a hotel. Good variety of choices and good deals.
I booked a hotel in Phuket costing over £6500 and on the confirmation email it stated all local taxes were included. I was advised by one of their competitors to get confirmation that the taxes which are 20%, were indeed included in the price. I rang their number, which was difficult to find, and spoke to a lady in Bangalore so difficult to understand. She told me the taxes we not included I waited 10 mins on the phone and she never came back. This sort of trading is very bad, if I had gone to the hotel and they asked me for another £1000 I would have been very annoyed.
I really love Expedia's user interface and choices that i get, when searching a range of options.
Their site speed is little slow but you can easily forget about it when you see their features.
Good booking for overnight but hotelmanager refused to honor agreement, "not their booking"was stated. Totally upset us, "had you booked thru us..."
Earlier this year, my family and I made a round-trip from S. E. Asia to the U.S. I had originally booked with Cheapoair and had a horrible experience. Lacking faith in Cheapoair's competence to do their job, I cancelled the tickets and booked with Expedia (starting with hipmunk.com). With Expedia, every part of the trip went smoothly and the phone app worked well. I would definitely recommend Expedia.
They and Orbitz were at least initially owned by the airlines themselves, and so they are the worst sites to get discounts. Or refunds. Go to the airline site directly, for the best deals.
Answer: You were lucky to get through to anyone at all at Expedia. I've spent hours and hours and hours over three days trying to get through to anyone on their customer service phone line, their chat line and their e-mail, all to no avail. They really owe their customers much better customer service.
Answer: Demand to speak to a Supervisor though you better have time because it will take anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours. Once the Supervisor does nothing or little to nothing to resolve your concern, ask to speak to a manager. Get ready to really wait. DO NOT ACCEPT THE "WE'LL HAVE A MANAGER CALL YOU WITHIN 24 to 48 HOURS" When you figure out you don't matter, sit down and right a review!
