I had booked the flight from reno to Kansas city (around trip) and they took the money from my card same day i made the purchased. When i reached the airport on the day of travel around 6.15 am reno time. I found out i had no reservation and i need to purchased the new ticket on the spot for $600.And after doing it. I tried to call their customer services and 5 of their assistant hung up on. And finally after 6 try I was able to connect with one of their supervisor and she promised me to give me a refund for the $600 i paid at the airport and admitted it was their mistake. And now today its almost 1 week down the line. Their is no response from them. When i called the customer care they keep asking me to call back and have no resolution of my issue. This website is fraud and steal my $600. Please do not use it.
I went to book a stay for a funeral service and selected the dates. Hit reserve which took me to another page which switched the dates. I didn't take notice because I have been dealing with a million things. Called to see about switching dates and they said no. Told me I could cancel and rebook for the correct date but it was NONREFUNDABLE. So they are robbing people!
Chatbot didn't cancel one of my 2 booked rooms and I got charged for a room hold. The hotel can't do anything about it so now I have to file a claim with my bank! Do not use Expedia!
My recent attempts to make a booking with an airline credit kept by Expedia are met with "Sorry, we're having a problem on our end." error every time I try to finalize it. I tried it with various browsers but the result is the same. I tried calling them and the only thing I get is after entering all information they ask for is "Sorry, we can't help you at this time. Good bye.". I can no longer recommend this company.
I booked my hotel for today which is (06/05/2021) when I received the confirmation, it says the booking was for 06/12/2021) what the hell! I tried to call them, wait time was 3 hours! Finally I reach someone online chat after 1 hour struggling. She was like ohh we cannot do anything.It is non refundable, non changeble. This website is big time fraud. They will change your dates so that they can re sell it to other people. Total rip off..
Expedia is terrible they put the wrong confirmation on the itinerary they put there's not the hotel the hotels couldn't find it and I had to pay out of my pocket then they wanted to charge me a cancellation charge when I made that call 15 minutes ago I tried for 2 hours to get a hold of a live person eating possible I will never ever ever use the service again and anybody who deals with a company that doesn't have a live person did you always stay away it's a nightmare

If I could give Expedia and AIG a 0 rating, I would. The travel insurance is a scam and a rip off. Unfortunately, they have no sympathy nor do they stand behind their word, during this terrible pandemic when things can change so quickly, as far as trip cancellation and refunds. I am VERY disappointed in both services!
I made a reservation then 3 weeks ago needed to cancel and was unable to reach anyone. I tried to cancel and wasn't able to on line, and tryed for days to reach a person with out any success. Left a return number and never heard from anyone. Well now I will lose my $367.00 because I'll Beano show. I called the hotel and they said I had to go though Expedia. The virtual thing was no help either. I would give no stars but they don't have that option
We made a reservation in August of 2020 for August of 2021. Expedia charged us the full amount and now we need to change the reservation. Although they charged us in full they have no record of our reservation and we cannot change anything either on their website or by phone. The woman who answered the phone (from India or someplace close) hung up on us after we waited 3 hours to receive a call back. The hotel we booked at says Expedia is the worst to deal with and there is nothing they can do.
Waited over 10 hours on hold today, never got to speak with an agent. Tried to use their website to make the change needed only to get a "sorry, we're having a problem on our end" error. Don't even get me started on their full of crap "trip insurance." Avoid this company. Not worth whatever small savings you may get booking through them.
My Wife and I used Expedia to book hotel room. We drove to hotel late at night and the Expedia room was short one bed. Hotel Mgr says "we have had all sorts of problems with Expedia. You will need to call them as they are the 3rd party that booked your room" fast forward 2 hours on phone with someone from India, they cannot do a refund without "checking" into it first. How long does this take? I asked. "Several days Sir" the India voice responds back. We had to make pallets on hotel door to sleep without the additional bed we paid for. Hotel had no other rooms available and our limited money we had in bank was held hostage until Expedia "checks" it out. Then 2 weeks later, we get an email from Expedia declining our refund. Even the extra money we paid for the additional bed. Lol! True story! They are a fraud company and if you see them in your smart phone while browsing for a room or reservations, move onto someone else or call the hotel, rental service or airline directly or go to the company's direct website and leave this leach of a so called business, Expedia out of your life. They will skin you alive and talk circles around you while they are doing it. I'd have better luck asking The Prince of Nigeria for a refund than I would Expedia.
Expedia failed to inform us of a flight issue. We arrived at the airport 3 hours early from the original flight time. Expedia emailed us the change an hour after the flight left! We spent hours on the phone trying to reach customer service to assist us. It was an awful experience.

Leaving for Palm Springs in the morning, logged onto our Expedia account to get flight info so we can check in. Found out we have no flight home. Called Expedia and were told Alaska cancelled our return flight. Asked why we weren't notified and were told the cancellation was pending. Asked what they were going to do about it and they said they would refund us our $140. To book a one way flight on another airline at this point will cost over $800
Extremely bad experience! It was a nightmare! Received email with ticket # and itinerary number, mentioning that my flight date has been changed. Came to airport. No booking found on both old and new date. Returning from the airport now!
I cant believe a company like expedia can do so! Expedia's service has gone to the worst! I am still at the airport for last so many hours. Each time calling them, it is taking hours to get their service agent online. The service agent promises to call back if the line gets disconnected. The line got disconnected several times but they never call back again.
Finally got an agent with Agent #A13, he kept me on hold and I am still on hold for more than half an hour.
My advise to all customers is avoid expedia if you dont want to face a nightmare! As per my experience, the expedia is no more as it was before.
I booked round trip tickets through Expedia. The tickets included seat selection. During the booking no seat selection was provided and no seats were assigned. I called Expedia Customer Service and was on hold for over 2 hours before my battery went dead. I called back and wait time for Customer Service was over FOUR HOURS. I called the airlines direct and was assigned seats. There is no Customer Service at Expedia. I will Never, Ever book flights through Expedia again. I will see available flights on Expedia BUT book directly through the airlines website online.
I haven't traveled since the pandemic and wanted to start planning. I tried 30 minutes to REACH A LIVE VOICE because of 2 important questions that are unique and i wanted credits for airlines and from Expedia included in the deal. Frustrating voice prompts and lying for 30 minutes! The website even says something about discounts apply up to 2018?! It is May 21,2021 now... how do i trust them! Disgraceful!
(and i see the positive ratings and have had PAST positive experiences - which was my point) But what if you arrive at the airport and they don't have your reservation? What if u arrive at hotel (and the same?). I do not doubt the attractive packages but what if something goes wrong AND IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTACT THIS COMPANY?
Will never book through Expedia ever again. Booked at Sea Temple Port Douglas, made sure the was a good cancellation policy in case. We had to cancel and did that with in the correct time frame, did this 15/04/21, today 21/05/21 and still no $495 refund. Have emailed through Expedia app at least 10 time and keep get the same response from the hotel - is should be there in the next few days. Rang Expedia just over a week ago and was told I had to deal with the hotel which I said I have been doing. They were not willing to even listen till I threatened to leave reviews at this point the issue was escalated. Been 10 days and have not had a call or email from anyone at Expedia. Shame, shame, shame. Clearly they wipe there hands once they get their commission.
The first time Expedia ripped me off was 03/2020. I rented a condo in downtown Grand Rapids to host my best friend's Bachelorette Party. Then COVID hit and on 03/16 and our state was shut down. I called the owner that listed their condo with Expedia so I could cancel since literally all restaurants were closed and we were not to leave our houses unless it was for essentials. The owner said she'd look into the cancellation and get back with me. She never called me back so I called and even texted her. She clearly was avoiding me and wanted no part of refunding my money. So then I reached out to Expedia who was zero help either and I played the "chase your tail" game as they insisted I get the refund from the owner. So I lost all of that money for a condo I couldn't use. Then this past weekend I decided to give them another shot and booked a 2 bedroom condo in downtown Knoxville with Embassy Suites. Imagine my surprise when I checked in with my girlfriends to find a one bedroom suite. My room literally had one bedroom separated by a door with an adjoining living room. The living room had a sofa that pulled out into a bed. That's NOT what I would call a 2nd bedroom. So I complained to the front desk. And I was told that Expedia does this to them all the time. I ended up having to rent another room because how am I supposed to host a girls weekend with one bedroom and one common area with a sofa bed. Again, Expedia was no help. And every single time I post a review on Expedia's website that isn't in their favor, they delete it. So I'm leaving this review on websites other than Expedia so they can't erase it and act like their lack of customer service and making things right never happened. Expedia Group owns VRBO and Orbitz. So I highly suggest you don't use any of the 3 sites as they will not have your back if things go wrong that are out of your control. They're just a corporate America company that doesn't care about their customers. I will also note that I'm an avid traveler who books flights/hotels at least once a month. So I'm their bread and butter and they could completely careless.
Answer: You were lucky to get through to anyone at all at Expedia. I've spent hours and hours and hours over three days trying to get through to anyone on their customer service phone line, their chat line and their e-mail, all to no avail. They really owe their customers much better customer service.
Answer: Demand to speak to a Supervisor though you better have time because it will take anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours. Once the Supervisor does nothing or little to nothing to resolve your concern, ask to speak to a manager. Get ready to really wait. DO NOT ACCEPT THE "WE'LL HAVE A MANAGER CALL YOU WITHIN 24 to 48 HOURS" When you figure out you don't matter, sit down and right a review!
