The company has garnered a mixed reputation, with some customers praising the quality of unique items and positive experiences with customer service. However, a significant number of reviews highlight serious concerns, including inflated shipping costs, poor communication, and issues with product authenticity. Many customers report dissatisfaction with the handling of returns and complaints, often facing unresponsive support. Overall, while there are pockets of positive feedback, the prevailing sentiment suggests a decline in service quality and transparency, leading to frustration among long-time users and potential legal actions from dissatisfied customers.

I just bought a cutlery set that said 'Lagouille ' and it is not. It is a cheap brand that doesn't have Lagouille anywhere and they claimed it is
The Shipping cost more than the items. They are getting rich off of the shipping alone. I will not buy again
I have purchased several items from them and haven't had any issues at all everything was as described. It is the shipping and handling fees that are totally absurd, they want $31.53 to ship one coin to Georgia, the state not the country.
Be prepared to win auctions, drive there because cost of shipping is astronomical, only to be told they lost the item you won or be given the wrong item. This isn't a rate occasion either.
3 times in 10 days have I observed insider bidding in on EBTH.
I don't know if this counts as cheating, but I won an auction for a 14k diamond ring. EBTH billed my credit card and didn't provide me with a tracking number or invoice. I had to contact EBTH to get clarification. They weren't even aware of their mistake. It took one week of hounding them to get the issue resolved.
They are not staffed or structured correctly for this type of business. Great concept poorly executed.
Photos looked great and said lightly used for terrible condition sofa for $190. Obviously photoshopped. They said I did not have to pick it up. They said they will relist it with the same photos, but they lied. Instead, they took new awful photos which looked as terrible as it was. It was sold for $12. I paid $190 and they sold it for $12! They said I had to eat the $178, No negotiation! Unspeakable people. I will never shop there again. Stay Away!
I had a 40 year collection of collectibles. Their agent came to my house and looked over the items that I had... She claims they would be thrilled to get these items. She took pictures and talked with main office and arrangement were made to pick it up. They came and picked everything but I was later told that my collection was yard sale items and would not be posted. They did put a few items on the sale site and they sales were 1100. 00. When they send me check they paid me $411.00.the other money was take by etbh for various charges. I was told the other items were donated. The previous reviews are pretty much as it is with this place. The person who came my house was gone after she met with me. Beaware that his business is not credible establishment in my personal opinion.
2 minutes after placing a bid on a possible Navajo jewelry piece I tried to retract it because I could not locate any legitimate information about the so-called Navaho artisan. The piece had a misreadable mark on the stone. They claimed it read H. Boyd. In addition, the stones were misglued in and cracked. I could not find any information on the form they referred to on their website as existing to retract a bid. I finally after much hunting found a phone number that did not open up for hours. I was told bids are not retractable for any reason. I think this is illegal. I refused to pay should I win. I think is not a legal or right auction house.
I have been buying and selling with EBTH for years now and I have always had positive experiences. I have seen a lot of negative reviews about the company and I suspect that at least some of them are more about buyers remorse than an actual problem with EBTH. Everything they sell is represented as pre-owned. Every item has very detailed pictures and even has descriptions including flaws. You have to look closely at items before you bid. Not every item is in perfect condition, as with every other auction house I have encountered. Yes, they have high commission fees, but as a business, they have a lot of expenses to cover. I know the commission fees and have to accept the contract terms before EBTH will agree to accept any of my items every time I ship to them. With that being said, EBTH is a great place for finding fun and unique items at a fair price. It's also a great place to make extra money. From the time you contact them with a list of items that you want to sell until you receive an actual check is generally about 5-10 weeks in my experience. I often plan ahead to fund Christmas spending, vacations, and any other special expense I might have. It's also really fun to watch your items at auction.
I am writing this review after 3 serious issues with this company. The first, I purchased a ring from them - auction closed, showed me as winner. Then auction reopened and my item was sold to another bidder at a higher price. Second issue, I purchased a watch - auction showed me as winner,, my card was charged item shipped. Then item mysteriously halted at a FedEx location not far from Ohio. I contacted EBTH via website and received an email telling me they would track the item. Two days later, i get an email telling me there was an issue with my card. I look at my statement again and see a credit for the item? In both cases, I believe EBTH used unethical means to keep these items from me because the final bid was too low for their expectations. Remember that I paid for both items and never received them. The third issue has been with quality and misrepresentation. I have received items with flaws that were not shown in photos - ie: a pearl bracelet with broken string tied in a knot - entire bracelet needed to be restrung. My biggest issue with these folks is I do believe they are fixing auctions if they don't get the price they want. I'm investigating ways to report to the attorney general.
I have left 2 phone calls 1 email requesting an invoice for item b-******* tono avail no answering of phones all busy ler you know if this gets a response
DO NOT TRUST! Misleading info given for items. Not all defects are listed or pictured. Most of the items in auction are bid against by their own employees! If the last bit is not yours, then the item would be actioned again.
I've shopped on the site for many years. Some times good but many times bad. There were countless times items would arrive damaged from poor shipping and sometimes clothing would arrive with stains that were not listed or shown in pictures. I sucked it up most of the time as a loss but made a claim from what I can remember just once and they refunded me after they could see the item was completely broken. I fast forward to the present. I won an auction for a Fendi bag. I just received it and it reaks of must and cigarettes. I've tried some googled remedies but the smell stays put. Unfortunately due to Covid I've developed allergies and breathing difficulties occur from them. I can not keep this bag due to that unfortunate fact and bottom line, no one wants to carry around a smelly bag! I wrote to them about why they don't put orders in the description. They wrote back that odor is subjective and hope I understand. I write back and said smell is not subjective, it either does or does not. They shouldn't have even listed it, no standards in my opinion. I didn't pay too much for it but $300+ Is still frustrating to lose. I'm going to donate it to a thrift store that uses proceeds to help animals, I feel bad donating it in that condition but at least some good may come out of this. I would say as one who has sold on the site and bought, do not roll the dice on this. The thrill of the hunt kept me in for too long but it usually always ends in heart ache.
After the purchase of my item I found authenticity issues! Was hung up on when I questioned these!
The website is easy to use. However the items they sell are misleading, often wrong. I got a synthetic Ruby listed as a natural Ruby. Got cultured pearls thwt were listed as natural. Most recent l a package missing, filed a dispute and then closed it after I recieved a refund and they closed my account. Which is really strange since everyone should expect to get receive they paid for.
I have been a long-time supporter of EBTH. I have been supporting it since it was a small local business, unfortunately in the more recent years, things have gotten out of hand. The site and service itself are fine but the higher-ups at this company are a complete train wreck. I have witnessed many changes to how this company runs its operations and honestly, it saddens me. I have known many people who work for EBTH and they all say the same thing, "I just feel like I'm underappreciated." This aside, I happen to have connections with the VP of operation, whose name I will leave out (google it). The only encounter I have had was strange, to say the least. First of all, this man was dressed in an ill-fitting blazer. Also, I definitely only saw three buttons on the cuff so I am almost certain this particular garment was made for a large child. Second, this man smelled remarkable close to cottage cheese and I DO NOT mean just a faint odor. He also preceded to tell the entire group about his "legion of minions" he had beneath him (I can only assume he meant employees). Finally, and do not let me understate the redundancy here, he continually asked me if I would like to see his "Pog" collection? I genuinely do not have the faintest clue of what that could possibly mean but yes, the VP of Operations at a major company asked me this question, at the very least, ten separate times. Obviously, I was thoroughly confused. Not sure if this man is fit to be vice president of anything (with the exception of a company that specializes in whatever a "pog" collection is). Nonetheless, I thought my personal experience with EBTH was worth sharing. I believe that a company is only as strong as those who run it. Therefore, through what I have seen, I will no longer continue to support Everything but The House.

I love EBTH, no company is error or mistake proof. My experience with EBTH was far beyond great. I've got some really nice Pandora bracelets (925 Silver) charms on two separate purchases items were received as described. I must mention I got them for a deal/bundle. I'm hooked and I thank them for having a local company like this. I only wish there was a store to go into, I love to shop in person also. But for now online shopping is nice, secure, private, and easy to pick up items (LOCAL). Thanks EBTH!
I'm bidding on something and they accepted my bid. Now they are showing an 'expedited bid fee' that i NEVER agreed to. For charging my credit card. I *THINK* the only way out of it is to put my banking information in; which i'm not willing to do.
I consigned a 1976 bicentennial tiffany-style lamp with them, that they appraised at $1500 to $1800. They purposely mis-listed it, put up crappy pictures, and did not list it with the rest of the tiffany lamps. It went into the next auction. They also listed this beautiful, ceiling hung shade as 'not working' UH, the shade works you put the finial through it and plug it in. They aren't paying for old lamp parts. Went less than $200 and i guarantee they buried this so one of their employees could get a steal. Came out of the Springdale TGIFridays and they knew that; not listed in the description either.
Consigned a HUGE load of comic books with them. They were ready to list it after I spent hours going over the stuff with their 'expert' on how to group them, etc. A week or so before the listing they called me to come get it because I went over their heads to Corporate over the rip-off on the Tiffany lamp. So their toxic little selves didn't want to make money off the comic books & made me come get them. Still never checked to see if everything was still there.
You guys really need to check yourselves. Somebody is going to leak some internal documents and the whole place will get shut down. All over the country.
I used to be able to find amazing quality unique items. Now everything is pretty much junk. Do not recommend.
Answer: I am just got through selling items through EBTH, and it has been the worst experience I have ever had. They grouped many expensive items together because they thought it was in the best interest of the company not the seller. I am also currently seeking legal council to potentially file suit against the company for fraudulent business practices. They didn't even give me a copy of their so called "contract", that I had to sign and send in with my items, until there was only 1 hour left in my sale. They left out the most expensive pieces I sent in and didn't sell them at all, didn't find out why until sale was over. As if all this weren't enough, they took real diamonds from the items I sent in to sell and replaced them with "white sapphires". So needless to say, they're probably about to get hit with a heavy lawsuit!
Answer: I have filed with the BBB and IC3 for internet fraud, and I am writing the Attorney General of Ohio. These guys make the used car salesman of the 60's look like saints. The products are marginal, and the service i mean customer service is non-existent. I also filed a fraud case with my bank, because for 3 week I got the run-around about them shipping the item, I never got it, and they said they couldn't return my money. Not true! In the United States, keeping the money and keeping the merchandise is illegal. Don't let the technology and glam of the website fool you, they are deceptive, dishonest, and you get the 'EVERYTHING BUT WHAT YOU PAID FOR.
Answer: Just to let you know ebth customers and consignors are dropping like flies. The arrogant company just terminated nearly 300 employees and closed markets in many states. That means its not growing, its failing.
Answer: I've not sold with them and never would. I've read the responses from people who sold items with these people and if you would like to be ripped off, then by all means go ahead. You'd fair much better by locating an auction house in your area. My experience with this particular bunch of thieves is on the buying end. Photos do not show the big picture, if there is a flaw in any item it will not be in the description and most certainly will not be photographed. The exorbitant shipping charges are insane. I'm not sure if as a seller you would see any profit from shipping, my guess is it goes right into their pockets. This is a very dishonest bunch from top to bottom. Please find a reputable dealer to sell you cherished items, I cannot stress this enough.
Answer: I bid on a pair of Swarovski Crystal Penguins. I was unaware that the larger Penguin was supposed to have a "tail" at the back. It's difficult to see with the cutting of the crystal so I only noticed it when I saw another like item and it had the tail. I closely inspected and can see what I thought was a cut in the crystal is really not smooth and is where the tail should be. The item was delivered on May 12. I put in a claim on July 2 and the company is standing on their 30 day return policy even though they listed as good condition and it was not broken in the box, I've spent thousands of dollars at their site and probably would have continued. The customer service individual refused to let me speak to a manager and just kept repeating the same thing. Now for 134 dollars, I am done with ever buying another thing. Not a good way to run a business. If they are going out... it's no wonder.
