The process is somewhat cumbersome and not intuitive. I won a car on eBay and was directed to pay by wire transfer or escrow.com did not see a PayPal choice ( much easier) so I went ahead and went through the process. They charged 174.25 USD to delay, confound and confuse both parties. I paid via ACH transfer to them and you would assume that within minutes they would have the funds. I have bought and sold millions of dollars of vehicles with far less interference and obfuscation. Further as soon as I organized the payment I secured transportation which arrived within hours of my "escrowed" payment and justifiably the seller would not release the car because he could not get verification so now the transporter is pissed. This company is a nightmare and of course all customer service reps are overseas somewhere, not really empowered or helpful for anything other than helping you navigate their process. Really never use eBay again to purchase anything of significant value outside my geographic area.
Ebay encourages scamming, all the scammer has to do is mail a package to the same zip code as yours and they will side with the seller. Forget that the package is 30lbs less than what is was supposed to be and forget they could have contact Fedex to verify the information.
This is the last time Ebay. I will never use your service again, Id rather pay retail price than allow you to make another cent on my account.
Use Ebay at your own peril - you will get scammed sooner or later. I have had account since 2001 no problem but now Ebay is the actual problem, you couldn't ask for proof of delivery with a receipt showing the tracking number. Nope - I see what PayPal is distancing itself from Ebay because PayPal is going above and beyond.
The pine boughs I purchased were of high quality for using to make my Christmas wreaths. The price was a little high though.
EBay as well as PayPal have became more like a Nazi regime when it comes to the way they treat there customers... They are starting to hold sellers funds for up to 21 days without any cause of action... No reason whatsoever I've had a established eBay account for 4 years and have sold over $45K IN products. My customer received the item i sent him and he left me positive feedback and eBay still demanded to hold my funds for 21 day... So if you plan on selling on eBay beware that you wont get your money until they feel like giving it you...
Good online shop in USA. I like their service also i their product quality. And it is a big and trustful company
I got an empty box instead of camera I ordered. I paid 510GBP. I was told multiple times on the calls with customer service that I will get a refund. I'm attaching a transcript of the chat I had with them, where they write that I WILL GET THE REFUND. The last time I spoke to them was yesterday and I was told that my refund is being processed for me and I'll get money by today's afternoon. But today I got e-mail saying the case is closed and I won't get money back. I called again and received the same information but with a different explanation. EBay = FRAUDULENT COMPANY. Stay away
I have been a customer of ebay for over 20 years. However, I will never purchase or sell from ebay EVER again. I sold a home gym on ebay and after a total loss on this gym, $1600 loss, due to damage while in transit, ebay continued to charge me $300 for a sellers fee, even after my $1600 loss. They would NOT drop the charge, giving me a new $1900 loss total. Very GREEDY and not compassionate for any of the negligence and money they cost me. They turned that $300 into collections for their free money
Don't recommend doing Black Friday or cyber Monday shopping on EBAY as Christmas presents because if you get a pos seller who doesn't wanna work w/ you to resolve your issue & the item was defective, EBAY will not help you out if the item you purchased was received over 30days ago
I have been using eBay for a long time now. Its a good place to shop electronics from top brands and at low prices. Every time product arrives on time and in good quality.
I had problem paying for the items 1-5th of January that was due to Ebay IT issues. I had no choice but to pay via Paypal for these items. Now I still have unpaid invoice and every time I try to pay for a new item I am asked the full amount including the old invoice. Ebay 1st line CS and 2nd line CS are NOT ABLE to deal with the issue, now they just "end the chat" every time I try to confrant them with that problem, yet with another item that I cannot pay as it is added to a previous invoice that I had paid 7 days ago... I did expect some help, but looks like they just ignore me. And guess what - NO COMPLAINT PROCEDURES available, though the company is trading in UK and should be subject to all UK laws!
This reviewer has bought hundreds of parts to upgrade and repair Dell and Lenovo laptop computers. Have never had any problem with items purchased. Payment is always via PayPal. Prices are very often better than Amazon Prime, which we also use regularly.
Ebay let a buyer, buy my $1000, use it for a week, mess it up.
Now the buyer can Send it back.
Ebay took the money from my account and gave it back to the seller
Want to buy something, use it, break it and get a full refund, Choose Ebay!
Hey buyers! Want to know how to borrow a seller's items (especially electronics) for a few weeks, even if the seller doesn't allow returns? Under Ebay's Money Back Guarantee Policy, you can keep the item for up to 30 days and then falsely claim an item wasn't as described and a seller has to refund you or make you return the item and you'll still get a refund! Regardless of whether a seller files a report to the Trust and Safety Department against the buyer, they still have to be refunded. The worst punishment a buyer can get is just not being covered for claims anymore. Spoke with customer service and they admitted they were aware of the problem. I would recommend staying away from this company if you're a Seller. And if you're a buyer- why buy off Ebay? Cheaper sites to buy off like Aliexpress (will likely carry the same stuff), and Walmart & Target probably have what you're looking for. Also, mobile marketplace apps like Mercari/Depop have nice modern interfaces, people selling things for cheaper. I've heard from sellers that have had worse experience than me regarding returns- for that, I recommend filing with the BBB.
Thank you for all your hard work to get the best seat for my buck! My rep took his time and helped me get my tickets! Thank you again Happy New Year!
I bought a pair of defected pants on ebay from wourldgoods360 seller manipulated me on feedback to change it from bad to good and if I did so seller would give me a refund and I don't need to return the pants to seller then when I changed it to positive feedback they did not want to refund me they rather ignore my messages sent to them. Don't buy any product from this seller on ebay defected products.! One pant leg made shorter then the other eBay seller factory defect.!
I have used eBay for a long time. It used to be really simple to use. It was a great way to get rid of unneeded stuff around the house. But not only did it get more complex - and correspondingly harder to use - over time, it also just plain doesn't work as well. I use Mozilla Firefox, and I dare anyone to print an eBay return label from it - if you succeed, you're more technically savvy that I am, and I'm an engineer. I finally gave up and printed it from Chrome. It's not like there are dozens of browsers out there; asking eBay to support Firefox is hardly unreasonable.
[2021 Update] My review from a couple of years ago seems quaint! Since then, I have figured out just how high their fees are: I sold a video card for $250. My buyer in Georgia paid $268 due to sales tax. I netted $217. My buyer paid 23% more than I got!
Secondly: When you can't sell "And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street" by Dr. Seuss on eBay (see screenshot) because it's too offensive, it's time to find a new place to sell.
It's actually the best when it comes to discounts and offer during holidays, as I have some spare time to use to shop online and eBay got the best offers that I could find during the holiday season.
Thanks for the good service, just keep it up.
Here, too, there are cases of fraud, after all, any person can register here - so I advise you to be careful.
But on the other hand, this is a truly modern solution, and it deserves attention.
It seems to me that the popularity of this service is high enough to go into some great details - everything is organized and accurate, there are ratings and reviews - everything is thought out.
Answer: I would never buy a used car without seeing it in person and having it checked out.
Answer: Ebay is a den of thieves. Even Ebay is evasive on complaints to answers. When looking for items, be sure to be fully informed to what you are shopping and use all that knowledge to cypher the listing, even then have found those that list items to be evasive on answers. Avoid ebay if possible!
Answer: For their own purposes and to protect dishonest sellers. I was once an avid EBay shopper, but now avoid EBay. Buyer protection no longer exists. You buy at your own risk.
Answer: Ebay sells nothing. You are dealing with private sellers. Some are good, some are not. The best way to determine this is to check the feedback. I personally never buy from anyone who has a feedback lower than 90%. 96% is considered bad, by Ebay. Take that with a grain of salt. Ebay management is nuts.
Answer: If you haven't already learned the hard way that Ebay is just pure bullshit when it comes to the sellers rights. When someone wants to send it back for any reason other than it doesn't work as described, you will be footing the bill. Not only will you lose the money you paid to ship it to them, Ebay will offer to provide a return label for them at your expense. Yep, that's right. They will bill you the price of the label if you don't provide it. Either way, you are paying for it to get back to you. It's get better. You can't leave negative feedback for the buyer either. It's not an option NO MATTER
Answer: Not to me! It's my main shopping tool! I look for good deals and free shipping!
Answer: Yes. You are right. All what people told you are correct. Don't trust ebay and the seller on ebay. Amazon much better than them. But anyway the best way to buy electronics from the local stores or official stores.
Answer: This depends on the seller of the item - carefully check their feedback and trust you intuition if you have doubts try another seller you feel safer with...
Answer: Hi Tom, As for reviews, you don't get them. It's called feedback. When you buy an item, the seller will probably leave feedback after you leave feedback for them. I hope that answers your question. Nancy
Answer: Depends on the seller. I wouldn't buy anything off ebay because there a crappy company.
