Ebay use to be a good place to sell before managed payments and requiring sellers social security numbers. They are not employers and have become very greedy.
I have been with eBay since 2005 and it's now that I'm not happy with the changes in terms of how a seller gets paid, the wait time is a bit much so no more paid at end of sale and you receive your money in your PayPal account. Not sure why they decided to do these changes but I won't be selling anything anymore on eBay will try other businesses
Also they are charging more than before and if you have any problem you're on your own! There's no one to help you out. This online store should be close! Ebay became completely SCAM! PLEASE PEOPLE STAY AWAY FROM EBAY!
Ebay's Customer Protection Policy is very good. They are very aggressive at protecting their customers from fraudulent buyers & sellers: (for example - item/s not as described, defective items, late delivery/no delivery situations etc). As a buyer, I've had to contact their customer service dept. four times in the space of approx. Six months. They've always compensated me accordingly. Kudos to them for maintaining such a secure, stress-free marketplace.
I've been a member since: Oct 08,2003, and have a (243) 100% positive feedback rating. However, I'm finding that buying on Ebay is becoming more and more of an unpleasant experience due to the increasing fraud.
In one instance, I spoke to TWO Ebay CSR's (called in twice) BEFORE I made a "buy it now" purchase, to have a seller/listing investigated because something didn't seem right. The price for the item listed was way too low.
The CRS's assured me that it was safe to go ahead and make the purchase despite the sellers reviews. Naturally, I never received my order. The tracking # provided by the seller showed that it was apparently "delivered" to a totally different province! Many other buyers were complaining about the exact same thing. Ebay does nothing towards providing the buyer a good will gesture for all your frustration and inconvenience.
As far as I'm concerned, they're going downhill fast.
I recently made an account, and went and bid on some PS5's. Made several bids figuring one of them might win, if I win more i'll just re-sell them. I then get an email this morning (4/4/2021) saying my account was permanently banned for "suspicious activity". I then logged on and contacted customer service. After the robo-CSR I finally get a human being I think, named Angelica. I explain my situation and she goes and sees what's going on. Comes back a few minutes later sending a wall of text (same as in the email) through several instant messages. I then ask what was the "suspicious activities" in case my account was hacked so I can take steps to secure myself. According to policy she can't discuss the reason, how convenient. I then accused ebay is showing favoritism and admittedly was rude about it, Angelica consequently blocked me (I was rude I deserved the block). The only reason I can fathom why EBAY would snipe my bids by banning me was someone working there used their position to remove a potential bidding rival on PS5's which are a valued commodity right now. After seeing all the bad reviews on another review site, then a terrible 62% here, I am convinced of EBAY's bad reputation. DO NOT BUY FROM EBAY. Amazon is 100% better. Amazon doesn't support sellers who are scamming and/or thieving and they get to your issue if there is a problem right away.
Ebay refunded one of our buyers without having our item returned, leaving us with no product or payment. We understand the need to allow for refunds, but not without a return. This is a dangerous situation.
Recently purchased iPhone 11 Clear Case -TPU Cover. Received it in three days and the product was found to be of good quality and perfectly fitted to my phone.
I made a purchase a week back and have not received any tracking number. I have contacted this company on many occasions and only one response. And that response was a discount on a future purchase but no information about the purchase I have made.
Ripped off and eBay did nothing about it and then they removed the negative feedback! I'm done most of it's counterfeit or from Amazon.
I purchased a premium quality headset of Remax and the delivery time was 15 days but unfortunately, the package wasn't delivered and its been 35 days so far... Neither the customer care is responding
EBay now makes you put your checking account information into your seller account purportedly to make paying your easier. Well guess what? It also makes stealing from sellers easier. EBay stole $933 direct from my checking account and despite recognizing their mistake and promising to repay me in 24 hours I have received no money and this was almost one week ago. Sellers beware! I will spend the rest of my life telling people how horrible eBay is to their loyal sellers.
I don't know what is the issue in their delivery as I ordered my items twice and had to wait for 2 to 3 extra days from my delivery date. Getting items after my required date were of no use. Strongly disappointed
The money-back-guarantee policy did not work for me. EBay did not pay attention to the sellers who selling faulty goods.
EBay is now the certified nesting place for Fraudulent and Fake companies. For 4 months i have asking for my refund of $83.77 and for 4 months the company just played and taunted me. EBay do not have Customer Service nor Customer Support at all.
I have no idea what happened, but I listed my first item and while I was trying to list my second one I received an e-mail from eBay saying that my account represents a threat to their community. I attached a picture of the e-mail. I tried contacting them. Of course no customer service over the phone. So I had to go online and request to message an agent. After I came in contact with the agent, he told me the exact same thing, and told me that there's basically no way they'd re-active my account. If I made a mistake on my listing, I'd expect them to contact me and ask me to fix it and I'd happily to so. This was pretty disappointing as it was my first time trying to sell something online. I'll never use eBay and/or recommend it to anyone again. I guess I can't use it anyway.
I have used Ebay on two occasions and did not recieve what I contracted for. I will not waste any future time or money using this service.
Future 2030 was the last person to rip me off.
Bill Taube
Ebay is a con. My invoices were ridiculous for what the price I sold things. Most of it was postage. Stop selling on ebay people. Support the new sites with zero selling fees and let's get rid of the rip off that us ebay. Don't trust this max selling fee of £1. This is not the case. I have disputed but not heard back.
EBay requires a sellers social security number now, or they refuse to pay the seller. EBay will hold your money until you provide a social security number. They owe me $100, and refuse to pay me.
Quick service, no hassles, well packaged, will be using again next time, totally recommend to anyone
They asserted there was nothing I could do through their system and that was the only way I could get a refund other than to go to the vendor or outside sources. The vendor stated the same bull$#*!. I told EBay their system problem is not my problem. So I did " go outside". I contacted my Bank's VISA dept and disputed the payment and I wrote Ebay Executives, EBay's auditors and logged a formal compliant with the Feds (the consumer financial protection board). In the end the vendor did the refund. EBay will try to bluff you by acting like they are all powerful and can change the rules after your purchase. They also try to intimidate you or imply you are crazy by sending you a survey asking how was your contact with customer support shortly after they have stonewalled / refused to honor their terms. In term so rules, you should be aware that they do delete negative reviews which means the review #s they show for their vendors are false. I am cutting off my business as soon as my last order goes through(I hope)and suggest you do the same.
DON'T PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS SELLER! JUNK
If you give a "Negative" seller review, the response is an untrue "negative" buyer's review on your profile!
Had to get eBay involved for a returned purchase of $226.99!
Answer: I would never buy a used car without seeing it in person and having it checked out.
Answer: Ebay is a den of thieves. Even Ebay is evasive on complaints to answers. When looking for items, be sure to be fully informed to what you are shopping and use all that knowledge to cypher the listing, even then have found those that list items to be evasive on answers. Avoid ebay if possible!
Answer: For their own purposes and to protect dishonest sellers. I was once an avid EBay shopper, but now avoid EBay. Buyer protection no longer exists. You buy at your own risk.
Answer: Ebay sells nothing. You are dealing with private sellers. Some are good, some are not. The best way to determine this is to check the feedback. I personally never buy from anyone who has a feedback lower than 90%. 96% is considered bad, by Ebay. Take that with a grain of salt. Ebay management is nuts.
Answer: If you haven't already learned the hard way that Ebay is just pure bullshit when it comes to the sellers rights. When someone wants to send it back for any reason other than it doesn't work as described, you will be footing the bill. Not only will you lose the money you paid to ship it to them, Ebay will offer to provide a return label for them at your expense. Yep, that's right. They will bill you the price of the label if you don't provide it. Either way, you are paying for it to get back to you. It's get better. You can't leave negative feedback for the buyer either. It's not an option NO MATTER
Answer: Not to me! It's my main shopping tool! I look for good deals and free shipping!
Answer: Yes. You are right. All what people told you are correct. Don't trust ebay and the seller on ebay. Amazon much better than them. But anyway the best way to buy electronics from the local stores or official stores.
Answer: This depends on the seller of the item - carefully check their feedback and trust you intuition if you have doubts try another seller you feel safer with...
Answer: Hi Tom, As for reviews, you don't get them. It's called feedback. When you buy an item, the seller will probably leave feedback after you leave feedback for them. I hope that answers your question. Nancy
Answer: Depends on the seller. I wouldn't buy anything off ebay because there a crappy company.
