I have been a seller and buyer on eBay for over 10 years and have revenue by selling and spent by buying literally hundreds of thousands of dollars if not in the millions and when a fraudulent occurrence came they took no responsibility over it and have continued to tell me there is nothing that they can do and they don't have any part of it. They're lack of morality and terrible customer service to neglect their buyers and sellers for over a decade or even ones that are new are absolutely despicable and there should be consequences for them and their bad business practices. Hopefully people stop using them they are nothing but shysters and pass the buck on to their own customers that are the reason they are even in business. It's so sad to see.
EBay is the worst, I'm just a new customer who wanted to buy some computer parts for my new computer and sell my old parts to others and they suspended my account for no reason after I paid for my order and now I'm vulnerable to seller's fraud, I trusted them to protect me but they banned me, it showed how irresponsible they are. Should receive 0 star instead of 1.
There are no customer service available. If you have issues or questions it send you to a list of articals. Really how rude. I seriously had to search for over an hour to get help. Only got help from your Fraud department. Which means you care about losing money than helping your customers. Also was given the reason for such bad service was due to Covid-19. Really- check out the other fortune 500 companies that have custoner service people assist from home. You are open for business and taking new business but NO CUSTOMER SERVICE/ SORRY NOT ACCEPTABLE. So you want me to search articals to get an answer? Makes me think your time is more important than mine. Is there greed in the room? Please change.
Truly a great selling website and just be careful what you buy on ebay read the description before you buy the product and you can't go wrong with ebay.
There is no longer phone customer service. Chat responses are automated and worthless. It takes hours to figure out how to send an email to customer service, only to receive unhelpful, illiterate, and repetitive responses. I was involved in an international transaction and by the time the international mailings had occurred, the transaction was removed from the purchase history. It has been virtually impossible to contact the seller because the transaction was no longer "live." Also the seller cannot figure out how to process my refund because of the time parameters. I recommend using Etsy. EBay has so many layers of avoidance that the result is hours of frustration with no results.
DANGER! Ebay Giftcards! If giftcard is lost or stolen they will not help you. They will demand everything from you birth certificate, to your passport, to your vaccine records, and in the end will still not help you recover your funds. To clarify, I had many egift cards with random funds on them. One day they where all removed, I was suspended for having too many ecards? And they said I needed all these documents PLUS physical receipts. Email confirmation was not enough, when asked to clarify, the "Assistant" just kept sending same prompt, telling me to look at it. I did and asked follow up questions which lead to copy and paste of original message from "Assistant'. Read terms and conditions, they can suspend ANYONE at their convenience and keep their giftcard/egiftcard money, when you agree to their terms you are agreeing on this, PLEASE READ and learn moving forward, this company is NOT to be trusted!
9 out of 10 items I've purchased lately have been defective, scams or eBay pulled the listing after I purchased the item. Then I had to contact them to get my money refunded in two days instead of up to a week. I've had to wait days to get eBay to refund PayPal and then days and days to get PayPal to refund my bank. In a word, they suck and are straight up hustling. Avoid at all costs.
I had placed an order for Acassan yellow corn flour for 3 one Lb bags. One receive 2. I waited think that the other 1LB would arrive but didn't. Send a message to the seller: geral: 2059(61) never received an answer.
So hard to contact customer service. Got a hold of someone that transfer me to the wrong number. This a night mare. My order number: *******6192 ammount $ 12.99 order number *******- *******. Item number*******324. My name is wanda c. Kramny. 7445 Jones road Salisbury NC. 281`147
On Feb 12,2021, I bought a refurbished computer on eBay https://www.ebay.com/usr/nexuspcs (Specs: 48 GB RAM VR Gaming PC Desktop Computer Intel i7512 GB SSD NVIDIA GTX 1060).
Almost immediately there were issues. When I first turned on the computer, I heard a loud beep. There was an error message that read hit F11 to log into windows. The seller said something was loose after looking at the screenshots I uploaded. The seller offered to show me how to fix this minor problem by opening the case, but I declined when he said the computer would work just fine without the fix. I should have known better.
One month later, the hard drive died. The seller mailed another drive, but I had to pay $90 to have it installed. A computer tech said it wasn't the best drive, but adequate. Three weeks later, however, I got two blue screens while the computer automatically fixed the problem.
The computer continued to periodically freeze until it no longer loaded windows at all. What a bummer. I have had several refurbished computers over the years, but never one that died less than 3 months. For $815 I expected the computer to last much longer. I contacted the seller about the situation, but he didn't respond. EBay closes feedback comments after 60 days. So the seller behaved as if he had nothing to lose by ignoring me. He got paid. So why should he care if the junk he sold me broke down? I had bought this computer based on the 100% feedback from eBay which now I believe does not really reflect reality.
Worse yet, when I searched for a website for this business, I found a free website that is even formatted for use.
I now have to mail a heavy computer to San Francisco for mechanical repairs. Obviously, the hardware used to build this computer was faulty. Meantime, I had to spend an additional $300 to update my older computer while I wait for this computer to be repaired. Buyer Beware. You just can't trust all these great reviews anymore. If you want a refurbished computer, go local or with one of the major brand companies.
I m using eBay for almost 20 years. A Trusted agent for both seller and buyer. Especially after I have many transactions on the site I became their eBay concierge member meaning if I need customer service I don't need to be on long hold. They will answer calls in mins. It's safe to purchase or sell on this site. Their rules are clear in writing and they follow up every of my concern. I will keep bidding and buying on this site.
Ebay pretends to care about sellers and buyers to justify their 15% take
I hate ebay as a seller and as a buyer
Purchased an item and it was supposed to be delivered by 04/29-30/2021.
Well, it wasn't. Contacted the seller and got lip service.
After another five days, I contacted ebay and they started the investigation.
I was told that I couldn't do anything until 05/12/2021.
They suggested again that I contact the seller.
I did and got more lip service that the item was shipped and was given another tracking number.
See photo on how that turned out.
With still no word from the seller, I tried contacting ebay support, that's a lost cause.
They have suspended phone support and trying to contact them another way is like a Tomb Raider/Indiana Jones adventure.
This is not the first time either.
I have had a few incidents as a seller where I was dead to rights, had all the proof requested and still lost out.
I have a few things to square away and then I'm done with them.
I had been a loyal customer and buyer on eBay for the past 13-14 years (from 2007-2008 to 2021). I had purchased tens of thousands of goods/products on their website during this time period. However, I recently found out how little they valued my business and how little they respect buyers. I had ordered some trading cards/stickers from a seller in early March. For some reason, the USPS seized the package before delivery and indicated insufficient address. I provided the correct address (same one I've used for several years). The seller immediately sent me a harassing message and cursed at me with zero provocation. I later on provided seller feedback that he harassed and cursed at me. The seller then provided buyer feedback calling me derogatory names and saying something else I can't repeat here.
I reported the seller to eBay. I also called the eBay customer service line as well as e-mailed eBay customer service and requested that the derogatory feedback be taken down. Not only did they not take the derogatory feedback down, they removed my feedback and accused me of feedback extortion. EBay also threatened me with suspension. I then reported eBay to the Better Business Bureau, in two separate complaints (one for the nasty treatment and one to get my refund - since I never received the product). They ignored the one complaint entirely. I finally heard back on the refund complaint. They denied my request, but thankfully, my credit card company has my back.
The representative from eBay pretty much glossed over everything and didn't even address the feedback issue whatsoever. They claim that whatever discipline they administer to a seller is confidential. However, I highly doubt they did anything at all, especially since the seller was so eager to be abusive towards me from the onset (obviously hasn't been disciplined before) and the fact that the vile, derogatory feedback about me is still on my eBay feedback board for everyone to see. EBay rewards abusive sellers and punishes innocent buyers. They have no problem being disrespectful towards me either. I will never buy anything on their website again.
We ordered an air filter from EBay for our John Deere mower. Motor Parts, their vendor in China, sent the wrong part.
EBay was to send the return label but that hasn't happened.
Motor Parts has dropped the ball too.
I'm out about $20 so no big deal but I will not order anything on EBay again. Too many silly emails, email pictures that would not go through. So... on and on.

Ebay's approach to selling is to let the buyer and seller do their own thing. On multiple occasions, I found myself completely involved with the seller and everything was dictated by them. I believe that Ebay should get to the problem before they become a problem. Don't wait on the sidelines Ebay, have more control over the sellers.
I really like shopping in eBay.it is a best safe place to buy stuff and price are faire. I recommend eBay
I purchased two used iPhones and they came in good condition, no scratches or errors with the touchscreen technology
Canvasdiscount keeps my business moving forward. Quick turnaround, trackable shipping. I will be back soon to order more
Ordered a line light used while doing PDR work. Ordered on 3/26/21 and still haven't received it. Found out the sellers customer service is located in China and this created issue with in itself. After going in circles with the seller I was finally able to bring eBay in on the problem. Did this first thing on 4/14/21 and within a few hours eBay sent me this message "We're sorry you had a problem with your purchase. However, this item isn't covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee." After reading other reviews I find this is a common statement. What I've learned from this is buy American and support brick and mortar. I'm out $31.50 plus a. 94 foreign atm fee. Stay away from this seller magic-tools2014
We went to ebay.com to try to find a charging dock for a Dewalt cordless drill. What ebay tricked us into buying was an insurance policy on a laptop computer.
At one spot on the drill listing their was to be free shipping and on another spot for the same drill the shipping was ten dollars.
I picked the drill dock that was listed as free shipping and learned that we had purchased an insurance policy for a laptop computer.
Answer: I would never buy a used car without seeing it in person and having it checked out.
Answer: Ebay is a den of thieves. Even Ebay is evasive on complaints to answers. When looking for items, be sure to be fully informed to what you are shopping and use all that knowledge to cypher the listing, even then have found those that list items to be evasive on answers. Avoid ebay if possible!
Answer: For their own purposes and to protect dishonest sellers. I was once an avid EBay shopper, but now avoid EBay. Buyer protection no longer exists. You buy at your own risk.
Answer: Ebay sells nothing. You are dealing with private sellers. Some are good, some are not. The best way to determine this is to check the feedback. I personally never buy from anyone who has a feedback lower than 90%. 96% is considered bad, by Ebay. Take that with a grain of salt. Ebay management is nuts.
Answer: If you haven't already learned the hard way that Ebay is just pure bullshit when it comes to the sellers rights. When someone wants to send it back for any reason other than it doesn't work as described, you will be footing the bill. Not only will you lose the money you paid to ship it to them, Ebay will offer to provide a return label for them at your expense. Yep, that's right. They will bill you the price of the label if you don't provide it. Either way, you are paying for it to get back to you. It's get better. You can't leave negative feedback for the buyer either. It's not an option NO MATTER
Answer: Not to me! It's my main shopping tool! I look for good deals and free shipping!
Answer: Yes. You are right. All what people told you are correct. Don't trust ebay and the seller on ebay. Amazon much better than them. But anyway the best way to buy electronics from the local stores or official stores.
Answer: This depends on the seller of the item - carefully check their feedback and trust you intuition if you have doubts try another seller you feel safer with...
Answer: Hi Tom, As for reviews, you don't get them. It's called feedback. When you buy an item, the seller will probably leave feedback after you leave feedback for them. I hope that answers your question. Nancy
Answer: Depends on the seller. I wouldn't buy anything off ebay because there a crappy company.
