I wake up to my account being terminated. I go into the live chat to find out why my account was terminated and the person responding was extremely rude and you could clearly tell was copying and pasting long generic responses. Not to mention I got scammed by two buyers on the platform. Yet Ebay did nothing to these individuals. We really need a new platform because these people have been scamming users for years and years.
My account was suspended so I spoke with them on the phone. The first representative was Jan and he said my account was suspended because My background suggests I am at risk and it's a new account. He said he couldn't disclose what that meant. I have a clean background so I'm not sure what that's about. My dad tried closing his store thru them. He had to call to close it. The first woman he explained what had happened to said everything looked good on her end and my account shouldn't be closed but she had to transfer me to another guy to finish things up. The guy answered and was so disrespectful to my dad. He said the account was closed and he couldn't disclose why. My dad asked for help closing his account too. The guy said his name was Gab and then he kept screwing with my dad and having him repeat himself and his username he proceeded to say to my dad that he needs to learn how to listen. And then he cut my dad off while he was talking repeatedly. Then after all this he said I'm transferring your call and hung up. I don't recommend supporting this company anymore and my family has been buying and selling for them for years.
I have had an account with ebay for many years buying and selling and because of the bad service I tried to limit my selling because it is a horrible experience. I just tried to sell an item and they made me do changes to comply with their company changes. This decrease my selling limit; when I trued t call them I get people from India and Philippines that refuse to hand the call over to the US, they refuse to give their names, they refuse to bring a supervisor into the call, they have no idea about what they are doing except for reading the script in front of them, etc. Why would anybody try to sell thru this company if they refuse to work with sellers? If you can help it do not do business with them; customer service it is not about buyers only. Once sellers get fed up with the "call centers" abroad, buyers will go to buy from another online seller. Avoid Ebay!

Uses bait and switch tactics on eBay which is just fine with eBay of course. Then doesn't send what you paid so much for and refuses to refund.

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX *******
Overall complicated to use site overrated. Bugs, login bull$#*! who can't even memorize a password, etc.
I purchased a USB-C headphone fo rmy phone, but got sent a normal headphone jack. I contacted the seller, but they wouldn't reply. So I contacted eBay and now I'm expecting to send the product back using MY OWN money and then only get a refund if the seller agrees. Just what the hell?
Save yourself a headache and go to amazon to buy and sell. Ebay is a piece of crap by changing the way they print their labels and have you get paid from the buyers. Completely unsafe to use your bank account instead of paypal. I hope ebay tanks now
They are liars and crooks. They have zero shred of integrity. Use any other website besides ebay if you want to sell or buy anything. I'd sooner shop for Satan himself than ebay.
I sold a customer a printer. The customer put in an order stating they didn't receive it. I tried to appeal. No contact back from eBay. Even giving proof the customer received it. 9 months later they withdrew the money from my account. I sent an email informing them of the issue. They told me it was too late. I told them I tried to appeal. I showed them the customer received the item from the customers message. They refuse to give me back the money they stole from me.
Do yourself a favor. Don't sell on eBay. They will steal from you.
A lot of the times it is the sellers or buyers, they know how to skirt the system, knock on wood I have not lost any money to buyers or sellers, 97% of the time everything goes the way it is supposed to, most people are pretty awesome.
I was sent the wrong ring. I got a smokey quartz and I needed amethyst
I didn't want to have to pay to ship it back since I didn't do anything wrong. Ebay insisted I give the seller my paypal information so she can send me money to pay for shipping. Which I refused for security reasons. After that they wanted me to front the money to return the ring and the seller would reimburse me. I refused. Why should I have to front a perfect stranger 60$ when I already paid 88$ for the ring and this isn't my fault? Now the ring has been sent back, the seller has my money. And Ebay decided in favour of the seller. The sellers are paying ebay for listings. Buyers aren't charged anything unless they make a purchase. So guess who ebay sides with?
I'm out 88$ plus what I paid to return the ring. To top it off, all the seller had to do to prevent this whole mess is check to make sure she was sending the right item. She even told me she didn't even know the ring was manufactured using the smokey quartz, that's competence for you! Now I will challenge the charge with my credit card company.
Don't buy anything on ebay. They don't care about buyers or what's fair. In fact, I'm pretty sure they don't care about the consumer laws. Don't do it. You have no rights on Ebay.
I have made hundreds of purchases on ebay and never faced any difficulties. Everything went smoothly and I always received my orders on time.
A seller sent me the wrong item, I asked for a refund, he told me not to send it back and he would send me the right item. He then sent me the wrong item again. Ebay took his side, I didn't get the item I ordered and I'm out the money. Case #*******030. Ebays buyer protection is useless.
Seller fees are just ridiculous now. I sold an item for $600 so now they are going to give me a 1099 yet I didn't actually get 600 cause they took $68 to list it and 87 when I sold it. I don't understand how anyone could possibly make and money selling on eBay. Oh and when they took 12% after I sold the item they took 12% after the shipping and sales tax were added. How right is that!
Ebay doesn't allow you to close your account. You have to request to close it, and that means they may decide to force you, AGAINST YOUR WILL, to keep your account. I will never ever use Ebay ever again, and for the love of god, I hope you don't either, reader.
First of all Ebay does not even deserve a one star rating but that is the lowest option to choose from. My experience with Ebay has been a nightmare to say the least. My account has been suspended/blocked. I have been trying for two days to get answers as to why. I have done the chat and was told I needed to follow the link provided and request a call back. The link did not work, there was no option to have someone call me back. I emailed them only to get an email back stating my account can not be unsuspended because I was found to have unfavorable selling which is a risk to the community. I have NEVER sold anything on Ebay. I have only purchased one time in the past. I emailed their customer service again stating I have never sold anything and am fearful my account has been hacked and requested assistance. They again responded with a reply that it is in the best interest they part ways with me. They claim safety for the community is their main concern. What a joke, if this were true they would want to help me figure out what happened and by who. They also went on to say that if I try to open any future accounts they will be blocked immediately. I demanded that they delete my account. Their response was they can not close suspended or blocked accounts. Terrible company! Their practices and customer service are the bottom of the barrel. I see several negative comments on here, I can only hope their crappy ways will lead to their business folding!
1) Ebay refuses to incorporate a system for paying out sellers immediately, even though Ebay takes its fees immediately. After removing Paypal as a default go-between for payouts of sales, Ebay does not permit an immediate payout, as Paypal did for a small fee. Instead, Ebay takes out their final value fees immediately, takes out state taxes immediately, then holds the payout to the seller for several days. And until late November 2021 Ebay did not even make payouts on Saturday or Sunday, which only extended the time to receive a payout. They made these changes and prolonged such payouts during a worldwide pandemic, when many people lost jobs or were unable to work and desperately needed money.
2) Ebay withholds payouts to sellers if its internal monitoring system even suspects that a bank account or card on file may be declined in the future for selling costs. Ebay does this even if there has never been a declined payment for selling costs and even if a red flag is clearly demonstrated to be false. For example, a seller attempts a purchase on Ebay, like any other buyer on Ebay, and that seller's bank initially declines the charge (which can happen for many reasons, like the amount is suspiciously large or from an international seller) but then immediately accepts the charge after the person confirms with their bank that it was intended. All good, the bank is just being cautious. But Ebay will see that initial "decline" as proof--even when shown after the fact that the bank was just being initially cautious--that that same account/card on file with Ebay, which has been processing occasional Ebay sellings costs just fine with never an issue, *might one day decline such a charge. At that point Ebay forbids use of that bank account/card and witholds payouts from recent sales until a new payment method is added. That account may be the only person's bank account and only debit card. Ebay would rather force that person to go through the serious inconvenience of opening a new checking account or applying for a new debit card, rather than recognizing the mistake of falsely flagging that transaction in question.
My account got permanently suspended. I don't know why. I bought two items and placed bids on two or three more. I got a buying restriction to only pay now items. I bought a pay now item. I won two bids from before the restriction. I was prevented from paying for the bids. I finally was allowed to pay for the bids. Then my account was suspended as soon as I paid for the bids. That's all that ever happened on my account and eBay refuses to let me know why my account was suspended.
EBay's return policies favor the buyer and put sellers at a significant disadvantage. I sold a high end espresso machine on eBay, $2,500 when new, and shipped it half way across the country to the buyer in Washington state. During shipping time, the buyer found a different machine that they wanted instead (actually said this in their message to me), falsely claimed it was damaged when they received it, and eBay return policies made me accept a return and refund their money anyway. It's not even remotely fair to ask a seller to take the time and expense to ship an expensive item to a buyer who can make any claim they want, and even say they found a different item in a message to me, and still require the seller to accept a return and refund. What's worse, I could find no way to even discuss this with a human being at eBay.
This isn't Amazon or Walmart selling a book to an online customer and accepting a return. I'm an individual selling an expensive, fairly represented item to a person who changed their mind when they found what they thought was a better deal. EBay should not subject their sellers to such unfair practices, it has put me in a horrible position.
I received a lot of offers from scammers with this website. I am not sure how they're able to get in this website and get past security. I posted an item to sell. I got 2 offers right away. I accepted 1 offer. The buyer sent me a message through ebay messging that he paid already and he wants me to ship the item within the day. I received a notification in my email that the buyer paid but nothing went through my account when I checked. Minutes later I received a notification from ebay that the buyer have paid and is waiting for my item to be shipped. I was rushing to find fedex to ship the item because I want to keep up with customer service. About an hour later ebay sent me an email that they cancelled the offer because my buyer was a scammer. I felt grateful that I did not ship my item yet. I was literally in front of fedex office to ship the item.
I listed my item again to sell and then I got another offer. I accepted the offer and I became more cautious by waiting for payment to get to my bank before shipping. Moments later, I received an email from ebay customer service saying that they restricted me from selling their website because I am a risk to their website. How on earth did this happen? Their website has a lot of scammers who almost got me but they ended of accusing me as the scammer so they flagged me? I do not understand.
Answer: I would never buy a used car without seeing it in person and having it checked out.
Answer: Ebay is a den of thieves. Even Ebay is evasive on complaints to answers. When looking for items, be sure to be fully informed to what you are shopping and use all that knowledge to cypher the listing, even then have found those that list items to be evasive on answers. Avoid ebay if possible!
Answer: For their own purposes and to protect dishonest sellers. I was once an avid EBay shopper, but now avoid EBay. Buyer protection no longer exists. You buy at your own risk.
Answer: Ebay sells nothing. You are dealing with private sellers. Some are good, some are not. The best way to determine this is to check the feedback. I personally never buy from anyone who has a feedback lower than 90%. 96% is considered bad, by Ebay. Take that with a grain of salt. Ebay management is nuts.
Answer: If you haven't already learned the hard way that Ebay is just pure bullshit when it comes to the sellers rights. When someone wants to send it back for any reason other than it doesn't work as described, you will be footing the bill. Not only will you lose the money you paid to ship it to them, Ebay will offer to provide a return label for them at your expense. Yep, that's right. They will bill you the price of the label if you don't provide it. Either way, you are paying for it to get back to you. It's get better. You can't leave negative feedback for the buyer either. It's not an option NO MATTER
Answer: Not to me! It's my main shopping tool! I look for good deals and free shipping!
Answer: Yes. You are right. All what people told you are correct. Don't trust ebay and the seller on ebay. Amazon much better than them. But anyway the best way to buy electronics from the local stores or official stores.
Answer: This depends on the seller of the item - carefully check their feedback and trust you intuition if you have doubts try another seller you feel safer with...
Answer: Hi Tom, As for reviews, you don't get them. It's called feedback. When you buy an item, the seller will probably leave feedback after you leave feedback for them. I hope that answers your question. Nancy
Answer: Depends on the seller. I wouldn't buy anything off ebay because there a crappy company.
