I frequently order items for my colleagues at work, who don't have credit cards. I ordered an item for a colleague, but it didn't arrive. Yodel showed the item as being delivered; when I asked for proof of postage they only showed me the tracking. I asked for the photo that they say they take. Cue a long and exhausting group of chats with Yodel with a photo showing the wrong address. Back to eBay. Cue a long and exhausting group of chats with eBay. EBay FINALLY agree that the item was not delivered to the correct address but will not refund me unless Yodel sends a letter or email on official Yodel stationery (not sure how you do that on an email but I digress). Yodel say they cannot do this. EBay say they can. Back and forth, back and forth, both companies agree item has not been delivered but no refund is forthcoming. I complain to Amex and get a refund. EBay fight this and I am charged again. I send off all of the chats and emails from both Yodel and eBay to Ames and I have a refund again and so far, I have not been charged again.
EBay is a total scam. It was obvious that Yodel had not delivered, and I had proof with photos and copies of chats. EBay makes it as difficult as possible to contact people, the people you speak to refuse to commit themselves to anything and ignore the things that you say. I had ONE decent email from an employee, saying that she was going to ask for a courtesy refund, but then that was disregarded and I went back on the carousel of "we understand how you feel BUT". The lost time was nearly £100, who can afford to lose that? I have told all of my colleagues that I will no longer buy from eBay and I have recommended that they only deal with reputable suppliers like Amazon. EBay treated this problem appallingly and I heartily recommend that you do NOT use them.
It is rare that you call in for customer service and you get the feeling the person on the other end of the phone is committing fraud. But that's exactly how I felt dealing with eBay customer service. In order to get your promised refund, eBay customer service asks to log into your phone and essentially take control of it. In my case, they had me open a Venmo Credit Card, a Crypto.com account, a Strike.com account, and an Uphold account. Then they had me log into my bank account and they tried to withdraw money from my account, all in the name of "verifying" my account! All the while, they are seeing all my personal information, passwords, etc. My bank kept telling me not to do business with eBay's customer service. My bank kept telling me it sounded too fishy. But I did anyway in hopes of getting my refund. (Which never happened, by the way.) After days, weeks, then months of working with them, I finally just gave up. Do yourself a favor and just kiss your refund goodbye- it is too much work and too much hassle to even get a cent back from eBay. Just save yourself the headache and eat your refund. I wish I had done that two months ago instead of participating in the three-ringed circus that is eBay customer service.
Fraudsters are running amuck on eBay. I was scammed. The seller sent me a tracking number that was a package to someone else in a different location. When the package didn't arrive I notified eBay and they said it was delivered. I told them it wasn't and we went back and forth multiple times. Hey refuse to do anything to help or refund my money. Now I'm having to dispute it with my bank. EBay's customer service is garbage. They will do nothing in your interest to help you. I will never do business with eBay again.
Bought an apple AirTag which myself and and eBay agent couldn't get to connect. Went into the Apple Store in Belfast where they took one look at the box and said it was fake covered in Chinese writing. They looked up the serial number on their system and said it had been copied 20 times. So I gave a negative review to warn people and phoned ebay. Well I always buy on EBAY I received all my purchases, some sellers are very reliable and there are some that leave something to be desired, but thank God all my purchases came in a way that I liked.
I called the CBD store Nature pure life LLC, and got and email address for the CO of the store and sent him and email about the product I bought through Ebay and had a reply from them, and they are sending me a new jar of the product a 16oz jar of there LichansEza and told me that sometimes the product separates from heat in shipping as it comes from Texas. Bought a product from Ebay and the Company that supplied the product is Nature pure life LLC and the product is a cream to help with skin lesions like Lichen Planis its called LichensEza it was $54.75 for a 16 oz jar. I got the jar a day or two ago and it was vary greasy and came with a note that if it was liquid looking to put in refrigerator for half and hr but still is vary greasy and the add for it says it is as cream, no way its awful and Ebay sent my complaint to them but no reply. EBay in my most recent experience involving a foreign (UK) seller is a horror show. An agreed-to cancellation by myself and a seller couldn't proceed because of the way EBay is set up. I was forced to buy the item I had previously paid for. Foreign currency exchange rates are about 4% off the then current market rate. And of course the 4% is in EBay's favor, not the buyer's. Worse, you don't become aware of this foreign exchange rate ripoff until after you commit to buy the item. Getting help from a live person at EBay is impossible. Even if their "virtual assistant" bot says EBay will call you, the call turns out to be more automated responses. Avoid EBay for the protection of your wallet and frustration levels.

They are forcing you to promote your item so you can get at least one person to see your item. Promote or else. To sell on eBay is not free. It's not like we don't pay to use it and then to add gasoline to the fire. The amount you pay at the end of the sale is unfair because they add the shipping into the total, not only does the buyer pay for it, so does the seller Why? I don't recall ebay helping me or the buyer pay for shipping.
Getting a gift card for their website was very easy. And within a matter of 48 hours I think I had the redemption cthe redemption code and they were very quick thorough and it was easy but still professional.
I wish there was an alternative. Worst customer service. Withholding $12k of my money because of a "technical glitch" that they can't figure out. They "submitted a ticket" 10 days ago, they don't communicate anything to me, I always have to call in only to be told that no progress has been made. I sold a pc on there recently and they told me they are holding my money for 30 days before payout. Yeah... I won't be doing business with them ever again. And on top of that they take to much of a cut not to mention even when I put ( buyer pays shipping) I still ended up paying for the shipping smh. I would give a 0 stars if I could.
A customer buys our equipment, and after a week claims it is not working. We agree to give him a refund once we receive the item. We received the broken item with few pieces missing. He admitted that he broke it. I notified eBay, and they still refunded him for breaking our equipment. EBAY IS A SCAMMER's Dream.

I was selling an old book for 1$ and due to all their fees I ended up owing $0.03 by the end. They really just want everyone to lose money on their site. Sold for 1$ shipping was 3.49, fee was 1.03. Hence I got 3.46 for sale but had to pay 3.49. They literally don't want us to make money.
Although there are great sellers on Ebay, customer service is non existent, if you need to speak to someone to resolve an issue! There is absolutely no person waiting to help you! No computer either. They set guidelines and if your issue can't be settled within those guidelines you are SOL! I've purchased on ebay for 20 years, but I have never sold anything. There were some issues that I couldn't get past without speaking to someone. That never happened! I sold my item but couldn't follow through because ebay decided how much to charge the buyer for shipping and it was a fraction of what shipping was going to cost. I couldn't ship because I had no money. I couldn't cancel because ebay was holding the money that was paid. I kept very much in contact with the buyer and explained everything that was going on and asked them to request a refund on their end. Because you can't talk to a person and have to follow a guideline only to cancel a purchase, ebay banned me permanently from selling! That's fine with me! It was my first time selling. I didn't understand and I never could get any kind of help whatsoever! I want my whole account deleted! I'm done with ebay for good! And I can't even delete my account OR my debit card OR bank account! So now I'm going to have to close that account and open a new one! Ebay does not need my bank info! I'm not selling or buying a thing from them ever again! I can't believe they are even still in business, they way the ARE NOT THERE!
As you can see, I was permanently suspended from eBay within 20 minutes of creating my account. I attempted one purchase. Returned later to check on the bidding status and received the permanent suspension message instead. Maybe I was buying from an untrustworthy seller? I do not know because when contacting them they refused to give specifics stating it leaves ways for people like me who pose a risk to the eBay community to circumvent their community standards in the future. They said I had a pattern that showed I posed a risk to the community and could never be reinstated. I explained I had just made the account literally less than 20 minutes prior and have never had an eBay account before so I was confused how I could have a pattern of risking the community. They essentially responded with, "and you will never have an eBay account again," but in paragraph form. Before I could ask further questions I was literally told, "have a nice life outside of eBay and stay warm" and then they ended communications immediately.
