Into buying insurance when you already have adequate coverage. Upon landing in manchester, took over 40 minutes for courtesy shuttle to show up. Then, once I arrived at the rental office, was bullied and coerced into paying $500 Canadian for insurance I did not need. THAT is where these sharks make their money

I had previously written a 5 star review, and was a very local customer to easirent, unfortunately I had a terrible experience in late August hiring a car. We waited 4 hours for our hire car, and were given an empty tank of fuel, which is a direct violation of the contract. I went through the correct channels of lodging a complaint & believed that hopefully a customer service representative would come to us to turn the issue around. Unfortunately, I waited 63 days for a response which was honestly about 3 sentences of 'sorry you had a bad time, no refund due'. As someone who works in customer service I am appalled by the level of genuine indifferent feeling towards customers, especially loyal ones who gave the company an opportunity to turn our negative experience around. Unfortunately I will never use easirent again, the cheap price was not worth the headache & frustration it caused me.

EASYRENT WARNING FRAUD
October 22, 2018

FRAUD
Once we rented the car they asked for 1500 pounds of deposit + 99 of deposit for gasoline + 80 for an insurance. We had a flat tire and they did not send anyone, we had to change it ourselves, but the car did not have a jack... so we had to stop a car on the street to help us. When calling again, they advised us to take it to a garage and pay for it. By having insurance contracted, we would return it. However, more than 4 months have passed and they have not returned anything, neither the money from the wheel, nor the gasoline money, or they have unlocked the 1500. They do not respond to the emails, and over the phone they tell us that due to the data protection we have to go in person... we are tourists and of course that is not easy as they well know.

Only in TripAdvisor you can check more than 620 bad reviews, this company is a fraud

Arrived at the Heathrow Airport. They had given us the wrong bus stop, and wrong direction hot to get there. Later we took their shuttle service to collect the car. Their shuttle service stops in different locations/ hotels etc. not direct to Easirent. After about 50 minutes finally arrived to their location. Oh My Lord they are really unprofessional bunch of crooks. They are rued, have no kindness, unprofessional, does not fallow any guidelines, rules. Discipline. Whey we requested them to hurry up as we were waiting for over 2 hours to cooler the car. Behind us in front of my two young children they were using F'' words... They've only provided us with one option to take one car for which was very dirty and coated in black dust. It was so dirty we had to wait for them to clean it little bit. The water spray was going all over my bags, family. The office manager there come down and was so unprofessional said they only have to provide a car, and it does not need to be cleaned. After over 2 hours they've finally provided us with a car, however the fuel was empty. We had to wait for another half an hour to get the fuel sorted. I have been renting cars for many years and on a weekly basis, this was the really the worse and worse, and terribly the worse company you could ever deal with. They should not be allowed to practise such business conduct, they should be shut down. They seem to do what ever they like. Furthermore be careful, when I checked my statements I noticed that they had taken incorrect payments from my account.

Seriously avoid these fraudsters, I'm so embarrassed for them - they are a shoddy shoddy disgusting company who make their money from lying and defrauding - I'm so embarrassed for them. There should be a no star, 1 star implies I would wee on them if they were on fire - they are cheap yeah great but so is a £2 prostitute and unless you like getting frauded, robbed, running up your phone bill talking to imbeciles who use lines straight from the donald trump book of honesty, or easting your time, sanity and effort trying to get your deposit back. I mean come on... are you seriously reading all the reviews online? Their own website says they rate higher than ANY other car company on trust pilot... go to their trust pilot ITS LIES, IT'S RIGHT THERE!

Don't emabarrass yourself thinking you've got a good deal, you'll get frauded.

The Southampton Airport branch recently insisted on payment for excess insurance. My wife had standalone insurance, told them, showed it to them, read out the statement on the insurance certificate for this situation, offered to put the £1260 excess on her credit card but they just kept insisting. In the end, her mum was ill, so she felt she had to pay to get the car. Complaint response later was just "you signed = tough".

We have spent months trying to get our money back but they even don't answer to our emails and have blocked our phone numbers. The company made an unauthorized charge of 435 pounds to our credit card weeks after our car rental finished (with a perfect vehicle status). They say that payment was some kind of insurance-associated charge they forgot to tell us about. That makes no damn sense. What the hell? We've searched the web and it's plenty of people suffering this same scam from EASIRENT, as an usual practice. We have taken legal actions. AVOID EASIRENT AT ALL COSTS!

Actually I cannot believe this company has branches. We waited 20+ mins for a shuttle that I was told would be there in 5 mins. Once at the "Branch" (A room in a hotel - no office) there was 1 person in front of us. It took him (only 1 person working inside at this "branch") 10+ Mins to do the paper work and then he proceeded to go out and inspect the car while their was a person in the lot to do that. It was like watching them F a football. Thus I told them this and was asked to leave. THANK GOODNESS he did. While waiting for an Uber we found a better deal at Avis and we were in and out in 5 mins. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AND PEOPLE - IT'S A CAR RENTAL SCAM. BTW: If you think I do this often, this is my first review of any company.

I booked hire car with Easirent via Auto Europe for a weekend in the UK landing into Gatwick. There was a 40 minute wait for the bus transfer to the car hire office which took 20 minutes. On arrival the office was just a dirty room at the back of the Crown Plaza hotel. There was a long queue because they only had three people working there and had run out of cars. I queued for 30 minutes to be told that they had no car for me. This was despite me booking in advance for a car at 10:30 and it was 11:30. I was in a hurry so I had to take an Uber to my appointment then a taxi to my final destination, amounting to £90 and similar in reverse the next day coming back to Gatwick airport for my flight. Auto Europe did not care either and have refused to refund my additional costs.

This is the formal reply from Easirent via Auto Europe after 2 months:

'Dear partner, i have looked into the booking as requested unfortunately we do not cover any out of pocket expenses.
Regards Chris'm

My recommendation to everyone is not to be duped by the cheap prices of Easirent and pay a little more for a bigger name. Don't use Auto Europe either.

This is a rip off company
September 19, 2018

First off they are slightly cheaper but aren't based in Southampton Airport - It takes at least half an hour to be picked and you need to be bussed to an industrial estate a few miles away. You need to put down a £95 fuel deposit, and a further £1250 deposit if you don't take their insurance. This was not made clear while booking with them. The car I was given was tatty and had lots of scratches. I made a point of going round the car with the Easirent guy. I hired the car for just 1 day and I was very careful with it. Like a lot of people here they found a small scratch "that wasn't there before", which I'm pretty certain wasn't true. This cost me £210!

I think this companies business model is to rip customers off by claiming their vehicles have been damaged - you only need to look at all these other reviews to see these are not isolated incidents.

The daft thing about this business model is they destroy any chance of repeat business, and jeopardise their relationship with companies like Expedia who suggest using them whilst booking flights.

Rented from the Dublin branch and they are scumbags.
Stay away, they will make up a damage claim if you try to use your own insurance and don't buy their insurance
They even have a tip option when you pay by card to get more money from tourist who think it's the norm to tip in Ireland. I'll never use them again or recommend them. You have been warned.! Stay away from these theiving bastards.!

SCAM - Stay Away!
August 31, 2018

After being quoted £46 for a two day car hire from Edinburgh airport, my partner and I were impressed with the low price and booked a vehicle. Upon arrival to the airport we had to get a bus to the rental place which was quite a jaunt from the airport, rather than finding an office we found ourselves in a mobile shelter/shack. It was unwelcoming, cold and full of people moaning at the desks about unfair and hidden charges. We should have walked away then but it was so early in the morning and we were in a strange place. After a 45 minute wait we were told that if we did not have a credit card we could not hire the vehicle. Instead, they charged us two separate amounts. One of £146 and one of £70 to make up for the lack of a credit card. The actual hire ended up costing £51 and the man told us once the car was returned we would be refunded for the rest. It was a massive hassle and terribly confusing but they knew we had no other option than to pay these extra costs. The vehicle itself was fine and in good condition. Once we took the car back the person we spoke to said we didn't need to fill in any forms and that we would get a confirmation email to say our refunds will be on our way to us. No email arrived so I called them the next day. They told me that the refunds can take up to 10 days to go through. I waited. My partner received his back but 14 days later I was still out of pocket. After calling back I spoke to a chap who said my money was not to be refunded and that it was taken in place of using a credit card and was in fact a charge. I was so disappointed as I had been told otherwise, and was depending on that money to be returned to us. We feel totally lied to and left short changed. We would never hire from this company again and I urge anyone to stay well clear! An absolute scam. Car hire quote = £46, actual cost = £121

I was very disappointed with Easirent in Fort Lauderdale undisclosed required deposit of $500. I read the contract and reviews prior to arriving at the location. I provided a major credit card and valid driver's license. I was then told that I had to leave a $500 security deposit. I was shocked. I was prepared to leave $150-250 but never anticipated leaving $500. I informed them that I was not prepared to leave that on my credit car; however, since they took debit cards I would leave it on my debit card. They informed me that I could not do that and if didn't have the $500 on my credit card I would have to pay $50 non-refundable deposit. How does this compare? I was between a rock and a hard place with my three girls waiting and no other mode of transportation, I had to reluctantly pay the extra $50. I called Priceline to get assistance with getting a refund.

I will say that I was happy with the car and the check in/out and shuttle service.

BEWARE. Booked a car one week in advance from Easirent.com via Vehicle-rent.com. At pickup time told no vehicle of any kind available. Simply told that cars are "subject to availability" which is not found in the terms and conditions. Online minutes later I find other vehicles available from them online. My "manage bookings" reference number ******* not then recognised when followed up. Vehicle Rent not picking up when phoned. Funds charged to my account but not refunded. No effort made to contact me. They said "we do not have contact details for people who book on the website". This company does have a permit to operate at the airport. Quotes given on email are simply links to a webpage where customer service section lacks transparency or functionality. FRAUD! Watch this space.

If I could have given it a minus I would. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - do not get tempted by the quote. I booked a van in Edinburgh for my son's wedding 6 weeks in advance. On the collection day no van - and a mass of lies about why (totally conflicting information). It ended up costing hundreds to get another elsewhere at very short notice (there were many similar offers 6 weeks in advance). It then took weeks and many communications to get a refund from Easirent.

Scammers
August 18, 2018

Scammers. They gave me a kind of new car and clean in the outside but very dirty in the inside. When I returned the car, they said I had smoked in it. I have never smoked in my life. They said they're going to charge me £175 for it and since is his word against mine I can't do much. Perfect scam. Never again.
