I rented a car through ArgusCarHire to be fulfilled by Easirent at Manchester Airport. The rental included Third Party liability, Theft Protection and CDW. Additionally I had a letter from my Credit Card stating that they provided CDW, LDW and Theft protection coverage. Yet at pickup, Chad told me that I had none of the coverages despite the fact that the Rental voucher contradicted that. He said that he could not give me the car without additional $216 payment. I had no choice as I had just flown 9 hours and was tired. Subsequently ArgusCarHire confirmed in writing that my rental DID INCLUDE THE BASIC COVERAGE

After many years of renting from these guys, it is only when there is a problem do you realize they have no logical customer service skills.
I have been insulted by being accused of 'mis-fueling' a vehicle which was rented with a full tank. Vehicle broke down after driving from Heathrow to Bournemouth, when it misfired badly. AA took vehicle to Toyota and drove me to Southampton for replacement.
Without them finding how much fuel was drained to prove I could not have added anymore, which in its self is not logical if I have only driven around 100 miles!?
Now they refuse to refund the 95 pounds fuel deposit and have stolen another 477 pounds to pay for someone elses mistake!? Branch just ignores me and customer care says they assume I put in wrong fuel!?
AA was right when he said this is a 'bunch of cowboys' company... So unless I receive my money I guess they are off my supplier list...

Used to be pretty reliable, and certainly well-priced. The former can no longer be said. They are the only rental agency to my knowledge that requires two very recent utility bills as proof of address. The first time I rented, this was fine, and since then (for another dozen rentals) they always provided a car without asking for this paperwork again, since I was a known customer. Tonight, they decided to enforce the rule anew, which poses a problem as my current flat has dongles for electricity and gas, and water is included in rent, hence I receive no utility bills. In spite of recognising me (one staff member knows me, anyway) and having my name in the system, they refused to rent me the car I'd reserved. It's now impossible, purely by virtue of where I live, to rent a car from them, unless I were to move to another property. Absolutely abysmal service - great way to treat a long-term customer of both the Gatwick and Manchester branches. Won't rent from here ever again.

This is the worst experience I've ever had with a car rental in Europe, Australia and US. I would give 0 stars or less for this location (Gatwick airport) if possible.
They offer you lower price, but it came with hidden costs, in addition they cheat you in different ways. Unfortunately, my son has read reviews only when we were in their office, as we were short in time for his graduation ceremony I have to take a car there.
- You have to take a bus which goes every 45 mins, no bus timetable available at the bus stop, we took Uber which costs us £17
- I was force to take car hire excess insurance which costs me 50.32, I have golden visa card which both debit and credit, but the aggressive staff are not aware of this type of cards and obviously geared towards taking as much money off you as possible
- my account was debited with additional 106.04 and 3 days after was reimbursed, no any notification.

Do NOT rent from This Place! You have been Warned!

Cheap, but the only redeemable feature.

It depends if you like to wait over 45 minutes for a courtesy bus to turn up, whilst you see buses from other companies turn up at least three times while you are waiting.

It depends if you like a lengthy 30 minute journey to the place with you crammed in like sardines in a can because you had to wait so long and so many other people also had to wait.

It depends if the queue is therefore so long that in the end you lose 2 hours of your holiday. Its made even more magical when you have your children in tow with you

It depends if you like surly aggressive staff who are obviously geared towards taking as much money off you as possible, in the form of things such as excess cover. The lady next to me was charged for taking the car two hours later than she had stated. The irony of course was that an hour of the delay was due to the bus!

It depends if you like to try to wash the screen only to find out there's no screenwash in the car. On informing the staff on your return its obvious they couldn't care less.

The USB socket in the car was also not working correctly.

I rented a car at London Heathrow, the easirent offices are as bad as their customer service. Their employees seems to be all unhappy and in stress, which they pass onto customers as they have no answers.
Akshay was the name of the agent to whom I spoke. The first issue i encountered was that according to him and his manager, my debit/credit card would not allow to do a "depost" or block it, so i should pay it in cash. After insisting many times, the guy tried and of course it worked, i joke to him and said, hei you can tell your boss that actually works and teach him something, he answered "you are being patronizing"... from there onwards the customer experience just went all the way down to hell. It took us 1 hour to get through paperwork, after which when i went to pick up the car, they did not have any ready yet, their clerk told me that if i want a clean car i need to wait another 30´ to which i said, no way, and I requested a disounted price for giving me a car that is not ready... he said, the car is ready we just need to clean it, and that is what he was offering... in the end we left with the car like that.
I am now fighting back to get the funds back of what they block as a deposit and petrol...
The car in the end was ok and we had no issues. Returning the car was quick.
I talked to another customer and he told me, it is cheap but their service is pure rubish...
I would definetely pay more money to avoid these monkeys!

Car hire
July 23, 2018

Absolutely appalling company. Was charged twice for cost of car hire and charged for a full tank of petrol when it was only half full. Upon complaining, was told that there was 'nothing on their system' and the cost of the second car charge was for insurance (this is a lie) and we will not receive anything for the petrol as we should have returned it empty! All they do when you complain is refer you to the website to lodge a comment which noone comes back to and the attitude of the staff over the phone is awful. This company should be shut down, it is absolute daylight robbery and a complete sham.

I was VERY unhappy with the pick-up experience. The lines were long and everyone seemed to be having some kind of problem. There were not enough check-in people. My biggest problem was the desk clerk insisted upon WRITTEN CONFIRMATION that I had Third-Party Liability Coverage when I tried to decline their insurance. I have been renting cars for more than 50 years! I can't ever remember this happening before. I have AAA Car Insurance. I finally called them and they were able to satisfy EasiRent that I had the coverage they wanted. Also, they wanted $11.99/day (I think) to add my wife to the contract. NOT HAPPY ABOUT THAT. I declined that. I feel this is an unreasonable charge. Hertz does it for free.
Very small check-in area. No place to sit and I am handy-capped. Very HOT at the check-in area! I'll never use these people again. But their price was very good. I guess you get what you pay for!

I have rented cars all over the world including several "third world countries" but I have no hesitation saying that Easirent London Heathrow was the worst experience ever. I arrived to hear them arguing with a client who felt that he was being overcharged. They threatened that if he sued them he would spent the rest of his life "working for them"
In between serving me the agent was alternately arguing regarding the offended client and ordering his food.
We turned up at 5pm for a rental that was slated for 11am our fault. He charged us an extra 50 pounds sterling for a smaller car arguing that he had no cars of the model we needed... so we had to get a smaller car for more? We were desperate and were traveling with our three children and tons of luggage after a cruise. Their rental company was "off the beaten track" and they had no private shuttle.
Really bad service and a the worst ever rental car ever. A complete disgrace to the rental car business.
They are not cheap at all. I ended up paying almost $200 for an overnight rental.

The cars are not located at the airport, one must phone to be picked up. This was very inefficient and slow. Then I waited in the office while one member of staff dealt with an irate customer and the other repeatedly answered the phone even though there were waiting customers. Finally I was served and was offered insurance that would have doubled the rental cost. After being offered two un-roadworthy cars one with bald tyres and one with a loose wing mirror with no back and all the electrics exposed. When I suggested that rain might cause a problem I was told that it was not going to rain in the next few days. The mirror was flopping around and I refused the car. In the end I did actually get a good car (the 3rd one I was offered).
Returning the car was extremely stressful. I was not told that the car had to be returned to a different location. When I eventually found this return location (not easy) the office was closed and there was a group of very anxious customers. Someone arrived from the rental company to process the returns and was rude and unhelpful. There was no bus to take passengers to the airport. By the time it arrived people (including me) were panicking. I would not recommend this company. Pay a bit more and avoid the stress.

The worst car rental company. They're thieves and would charge your card for damages that never happened to the car. I've rented multiple times before but never had a worse experience.

Extremely rude staff, no customer service, they don't care about you and would misuse your card details and deposit. Unfortunately I didn't read a lot of reviews beforehand and paying the price now. GUYS - PLEASE DON'T RENT HERE - YOU'LL REGRET LATER. I was charged £225 for a small scratch on the tyre that existed before I rented the car. Branch Manager (Stansted Airport Branch) - Marius and the Customer Service Team now avoid taking my calls. SCAM COMPANY.

Once they have your deposit and card details - you'll be charged a lot more than the rental price. BEWARE AND STAY AWAY FROM EASIRENT.

Dishonest crooks
July 4, 2018

Absolute worst car rental experience. I can't even communicate my anger coherently. They double charged my credit card and when I showed them my credit card statement they claimed that it did not double charge and I would have to call my credit card company. The cr dit card company has now opened a case to investigate because it is easirent that screwed up. The staff were extremely incompetent and kept trying to sneak extra charges into my rental agreement with excuses that they were mandatory and when I booked the car the price shown didn't include all sorts of random charges. This company is shady and lacks any sort of integrity. Stay away at all costs!

Ordered through expedian a luxury car at 56 quid
It was meant to be a merc e or c class
Ordered to take daughter to her prom

Wow, 56 quid for a merc I thought,,
Read all terms, said you would have to fill back up car... and that general insurance cover included

Went to pick up car a cple of hrs before her prom... not a merc, oh no... a black volvo suv...

How is that like a merc?
Some chump, im guessing manager, said we should of rang and specified it was for a prom?

I said, we trusted that if we ordered a merc, we would get one, and how is a volvo suv similar, or luxury

Was told, take it, or leave it...

Now, the only person that was good, was the general dogsbody, that washes cars ect... said we dont keep mercs here, they have to be ordered in... and your car is in transport, but its not a merc?

We were not the only person... another lady was having the same issue...

Wrong car...

And on top, they charge 95 quid for fuel? For one day? Where we going to go in one day,, scotland? And back?

Plus 41 quid for cover?

And yet it states that we are covered

The car was filthy, we had to wipe it, as dusty on outside, inside, looked liked a bunch of toddlers had been let loose with food?
As on the seats lots of crumbs ect... and a scrape mark on the boot... and a 2018 model.

I think the manager and staff use the cars for their personal use by the looks of it...

NEVER EVER CONSIDER USING THESE PEOPLE
GO TO THIRFTY< HERTZ. Or somewhere known, pay the extra... seriously, as you get extras here on top anyway...

Of course we didnt want to take the car, and my daughter was in tears, as all friends turning up in posh cars, and she in an suv...

Thanks easirent, for hurting my daughter,,,,,

Worst experience I have ever had with a rental company.
They did not have our car when we arrived and we had to wait for almost 6 hours before they were able to offer us another car than agreed upon.
We had a rock hit the windscreen and they ended up charging us 975, when a local garage would do a total replacement for 250.
Do not recommend this place- rent with a company that is trustworthy and honest and that wont ruin your trip.

They tried to con me by pressing on me to take extra car insurance that cost $250 extra. The whole process of renting the car took 2 hours. There were so many minor scratches on the car already there when we rented. We had to check the car thoroughly before we rent. When we returned the car, they claimed we made an extra scratch which would have cost us our deposit $2500. Luckily we took photos and showed that the scratch was already there. They even tried to deny it even with photo. Do not rent from these guys. They are con artists!

Should be shut down
June 22, 2018

Rented from them this month while in Ireland. Had booked on line for what I thought was a great price. When we picked up the car, got hit for insurance which cost more than car. Car itself was fine. When we go to drop off the car, no one is at the building. I called the number on the door and man says he will be there in 10 mins. No one shows up, had to get a taxi to airport. When I called man back to say where keys were for the car - no answer. Called 3 times. Finally I called the pick up location and told the woman were the keys were and also called another number from their website and left a message on machine where to find the keys. I'm filing a complaint through Holidaycars.com where I booked them. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! There are no savings.

Deception, entrapment and extortion. Made the mistake of hiring from these people. Same upfront cost as Avis but then! A 160% hike for ' extra ' insurance equating to £******* more at an annual rate. They will keep your initial payment anyway if you don`t pay the extra to take the car. Long trek to an off-site office!

I book a car through easirent before landing in the UK. I prepaid $140 for the full insurance. When you get there they tell you that you have not paid any insurance. They then force you to pay it again or leave a deposit of $2500. They made up multiple stories of where the initial insurance money may have gone. At this stage all the prices have now gone up. Instead of getting customer service they just lie to you. Worst rental company I have ever delt with. DO NOT DO IT! STAY AWAY!
