After several failed attempts to liaise with customer services I found there is a regulator for private hire car firms. After approx 5 weeks they ruled in my favour and I was awarded a full refund minus the original fee. Seems they were familiar with EasiRent no shock there!
This company has no ethics. I have been overcharged £249 on a 4 day car hire that should have cost £79. I now have to go through the whole process of claiming back and challenging their processes begging for money that is rightfully mine. Absolutely disgusted at how underhand the practices are and how they are still trading. It would be cheaper to travel by plane. Please look elsewhere.
They still my money, I cancel the reservation because the taxes were so high and they don't care and take off 500 dollars of my debit account, and until now ( 1 month farther that) they don't return my money
SunPass charge for toll after I returned the car. Customer Service non-existent. They do not even answer the phone. False info when signing up... a fraud.
BEWARE OF PREDATORY INSURANCE UPSELL IN EASIRENT'S CONTRACT TERMS AND CONDITIONS! If you're looking for an affordable car rental and choose their company based upon their low rates, understand that they're low rates will actually double at checkout based upon their insurance policy. If I could leave 0 stars I would! I travel for business and rent cars on a weekly basis and have never been subject to a policy like this one. Upon traveling to Miami Florida this was the 1st time that I had rented through Easirent... and the last. In their contract they require you to purchase supplemental liability insurance even though I had rental car insurance. It's buried in the terms and conditions. So my 3 day, $140 car rental turned into a $320 car rental. The agent at the time and afterwards the customer service rep on their 800 number told me that it was Florida law. **It is not Florida law, it is a company rule*** One that makes their company is significant amount of money more. The 1st car had a service issue and needed to be exchanged for another car with no credit for my time spent traveling 30 minutes back to the airport one way. The customer service was ok after having to return the 1st car for his service malfunction. However the up sell was not ok. STAY AWAY!
I wish there were negative stars that I can give!
This business is a scam with horribly rude employes. They dont say anywhere that one needs to bring a full policy of your car insurance (not just a insurance card) and then try to charge you $35 a day and up for an additional insurance. When I tried to get the manager but employee just canceled my reservation and refused to say her name. I was left to stand with my luggage and no car in the middle of anywhere. It seems like there is no rules or controls. The employee was just crazy unreasonably angry with me.
The company provided incorrect instruction about airport pick up. We received a text message to call for shuttle, but the number provided never picked up, so we spend half an hour trying to call this number. After I googled their central office and they instructed us where to find a bus stop.
When the shuttle bus finally came it was tiny and not all the people from the line fit in there, so many people were left to stay and wait more.
Stay away - the company tries to entice you by lower prices, but you'll end up paying more than to others reputable companies because of Easirent scams to get more from you when you get to the place.
And I NEVER seen representative to be so rude and nasty to me without any reason. I felt powerless with her insults.
Stay away.
Renting started out ok but after return we found a 50.00 charge for fuel that we were not supposed to pay. We had a photo copy of the slip signed by the manager saying bring it back on empty. We still had a payment pending for $50.00 dollars for fuel. Vehicle had a half of tank when we returned it. It was a Dodge Caravan. I don't think it holds that much fuel anyway. When we called to question the charge, we were handled by a woman named Christine who was very rude and put out that I would question the charge. She tried to tell me they had to wait for corp. to reverse the charge. I requested the phone number for corp and she told us she didn't have it. She said she texted the girl on her private cell phone. I looked up the number for corp but after several rings the tone changes and phone never gets answered. They ate the crooks that alot of the reviews indicate. Stay as far away from them as possible. They also wanted.to make photo copies of our credit card as well as run it through the machine. Thievery
SCAM! Be aware that Easirent is a fraudulent business. They first try to make you pay a different car saying that you were too late or that your car is not longer available.
Then they find some excuse and force you to buy insurance although you have it already.
Worst of all they accuse you damaging a car, that you didn't do! They charged me 380 EUR for a little scratch on the rim, I even didn't do! See attached photo of a scratch. Imagine paying 380 EUR for such a scratch you didn't even do! Outrageous!
Stay away from them. I know I will.
Worst company ever. Had a car booked from Belfast international. Didn't have my booking ref but called give all my details and they said we don't have a booking. Walked around for 2 hours until we paid £130 for a new car. Got home and the booking was with these crooks! Called and the man I spoke with was rude, talked over me and said if I made a booking through a broker I should try for my money back from them! It was easirent who made this error and left us out in the cold! Not even a sorry! Even tried to tell me first of all we made the booking for February which I corrected them with a copy of their own email!
Stay away from this place. We accidentally left a cell phone in the car and realized it after we locked the car and dropped the keys in the drop box (it was before the facility opened). I called immediately when the place opened (6:00 am) and they lied and said it was not there. I even confirmed with the cell phone company that the phone was shut off at 6:20 am. (we were on a plane then). So... their employee went and stole the phone and shut it off (I'm sure thinking that would disable the "Find my phone" feature). Then, after calling over 15 times, most of the calls went unanswered, even when the customer service rep tried to call for me. Finally, the location told me that the manager, Matthew, was "in and out" and would call me back when he came in. As you can guess, that call never came. What a scam! All this was AFTER picking up the car, and they said we had to have our insurance POLICY with us to rent! Who carried their insurance POLICY with them when they travel. I did have a valid insurance card with me upon pick up. They also put a $500 deposit on your credit card when you pick up the car. This is fraud! What a terrible experience! Stick with a reputable dealer. Save yourself much headache!
1. HIDDEN COSTS
They forgot to mention if I do Not have a credit card that will cost an additional 20£ just to start with for the insurance. We found out this when we collected the vehicle.
2. EMPTY FUEL TANK
We received the vehicle with an empty fuel tank and an advice: "If I was you I would go from here straight to a station! But you can bring it back with an empty tank if you DARE!" Obviously they are trying to scare people and make them put too much fuel in so they can use it after for their own purposes.
3. TOOK MONEY OF MY ACCOUNT
We got a penalty (40£) for bridge crossing, which was a misunderstanding. Esirent took money off from my account immediately (55£ so 15 more than the penalty would have been). Then they refused to acknowledge that they have received the confirmation letter about the cancellation of the penalty.
An absolute skidmark of a company. I cannot believe people will work for them but I suppose some people have no morals or think they have no choice.
Anyhow, do not ever ever use this company. Their standard operating procedures is to screw as many people out of as much money as possible. Simples! Dont let yourself be another victim, they have enough already. Just google easirent reviews.
I was 45 minutes late to pick up the vehicle and was told it had been registered as a 'no show' and the vehicle had been passed transferred to someone else. They refused to answer my questions about a refund and told me 'it is what it is'. I've never come across such customer service. I immediately went over to Enterprise whom I have booked with in the past and was met with the same warm and professional approach. It was literally a £10.00 more for a vehicle in the same category even though I was booking on the spot and they gave me a free upgrade when I told them my experience at Easirent. I later heard that the Easirent reps are 'keen on their damages'. Just be vigilant and go for reputable companies (Enterprise, Hertz, Europcar etc) when it comes to things like this. I could bet all my money that Easirent probably started off as a bogus accident claims company.
PS. Easirent Heathrow doesn't have it's own shuttle service and is sharing with the hotels whilst all the other local companies run their own shuttle services which are prompt and waiting when you get there.
I recently made an online booking for a rental car + insurance with easirent.com.
Once arrived at Manchester Airport, I waited for my parents flying in from another airport and rang up the company for pick up. I had to call 4 times before we finally got picked up more than 1 hour later. At the easirent office, an advisor set up a contract for us and made us sign on a signpad. There was no printed contract or cost summary. Having payed everything online when I booked the car, I was not expecting hidden costs. The advisor briefly outlined that there was a deposit to pay for fuel and in case we had an accident but that everything would be reimbursed once I returned the car. Having booked cars online before, I thought this was a normal procedure because a deposit is usually withhold at car collection. Only when I checked my email the day after, I found that I had been charged 487£!
When I returned the car (4 days later), the manager gave vague explanations such as I showed up 3 hours later than my plane landed which is why the first booking was cancelled and a new contract had to be set up'. After long discussion, I was told that the only thing I could do was to contact the head office the next day.
While talking to other customers outside the easirent office, I realised that providing customers with dubious information to make them sign intransparent car rental agreements seems to be common practice. The customers said they were charged 300£ extra because easirent would not accept their credit card although apparently these cards were usually working just perfectly well.
Our charges included, for instance, a 180£ fee because the lead driver and the credit card holder were not the same person. I specifically asked whether there would be extra charges for this matter twice (over the phone and in person) before signing anything and I was reassured that there were no extra costs. I was charged 100£ for upgrades that I had never asked for and honestly still don't know what those upgrades entailed. I was charged 92£ for some extra insurance I had not asked for. The advisor told us about a 95£ fuel deposit which would be reimbursed if the car is returned full. We're still waiting to receive the money.
A really racist and discriminatory company.
If really want to avoid a bad experience, avoid them.
I have been living in Newcastle for the last 7 years, and never had an experience like this. The manager was extremely rude and abusive.
I have provide them with every proof of address details they require but the more I did, the more they asked.
Showed them bank statements and council tax bill, and the manager said to me how do I know these are not fabricated?, Showed the statements directly from my Mobile bank app, still.
He wanted me to show my mortgage documents that I left at home.
How on earth, I would get that.
This is purely because of my race.
Taking this further, in the meantime, if you a foreigner or something like that, this is the worse place you can go to, I had to stop myself not to punch the manager.
They had sold out of the class of car I'd booked so after waiting half an hour for pickup at Belfast International then driving 15 minutes to the office they then had the cheek to say I would have to pay an extra £120 to upgrade to the next class. After arguing for half an hour they returned me to the airport as I refused to pay extra because they ran out of the right class of cars. All other companies were booked out so I then paid £55 for a taxi. No refund yet.
This company makes me want to pull my hair out and scream! The shuttle service was an absolute nightmare! The driver placed our bags into the vehicle, but when time came to get into the shuttle, all the seats were taken! We asked the shuttle driver what to do, and he said to "squeeze in or something". SQUEEZE IN?!?!? There were already people sitting others laps, not to mention the danger of that situation. The driver then proceeded to throw our bags out of the car without an apology! Then, he told us that this was the only shuttle the company had at the airport, so it would be another 15 minutes until the same shuttle arrives. When the shuttle came, our family rushed to the vehicle, squeezing to get a seat. Once we got to the rental building, there was a humongous line leading outside the building. It took an hour just to get to the front of the line, and the employees offered us a car. A customer behind us warned us that this car had balled tires, and it is ridiculous that another customer told us this instead of the company itself! Then, it took us another half hour to get the car! Our family is just trying to enjoy a nice vacation, but this place actually ruined the magic. The rest of our family was out relaxing and eating lunch as we starved just trying to get a car! I swear I shall never visit Ft. Lauderdale Easirent ever again!
EASIRENT HEATHROW - These people are scammers and very unprofessional - do not rent from them! They have low prices but get you when you return the car by looking for small marks. There was a tiny scratch on the car - they said was not there before - I was charged £250 + for a tiny mark. The car was given to me not cleaned from the previous person. Also, the shuttle they use only comes every 30 minutes and takes 40 minutes to get to the rental office. Nearly missed my flight because of slow system and them charging me for tiny mark. I've been renting cars for 13 years and never had any issues! Low prices but they try to scam you with insurance and marks they conveniently find!
The whole experience is designed to catch you out then steal money from you. A very unpleasant experience. The prices are very low but the product is rubbish. Liars and thieves. Do not use this company. You will undoubtedly regret it.
Crooks and scammers, they get my cared info and try to cash in but my bank denied them.
Don't use them.RUN RUN SCAMMERS.Do not use them, they will get your credit card informations and scam you
1st time using and the last. My plane was a little late arriving into Orlando, but I was there before 10:00 pm. I started calling the number to have Easirent pick me up and I got no answer. I tried to call for a half hour with no answer. I had to go into the airport and rent a car from someone else and it cost me $170 more. I complained to Easirent and all they said was that they were sorry.
Answer: To whom it may concern, This is the complaint letter I sent to those whom I thought could help my wife and I solve an issue that we found to be Very troubling. It involved an employee at the Jacksonville Easienrt, specifically the manager named Franky. Priceline Booking Number 202-281-644-38 Easirent Reference Number 1863754 Easirent Wally Park, Jacksonville, FL airport We went to pick-up our rental on February 15th, 2020 and had all the information we were told to bring (credit card, drivers license). The young man, Franky waiting on us, informed us we needed proof of our auto insurance which we did not bring because we were not asked to bring it. When we challenged that he informed us that local rules can require them to ask for proof of insurance. We have Erie Insurance and at this time on a Saturday they are closed and not open on Sunday. The manager, Franky, said we couldn't have the car without proof of insurance. We told him we would call and give them that information on Monday and he said ok. Then he blindsided us about the in-kind coverage on our credit card which we thought we had but would check with Bank America, his response made us feel threatened and also taken advantage of. Again, none of this was mentioned on any of the documents. It was hard to understand Franky at times which only made the situation worse so my wife took over. Once again, we were told we couldn't take the car without the proof of insurance, which also was never mentioned on the paperwork. My wife explained we would call them on Monday with the information so the charges that we paid extra for, would be taken off once that information was given Franky and that would be ok. We signed off and waited for the car, which was not what we asked for. It looked like the worst one on the lot and the windows were very dirty and very hard to see out of the windows because of the stickers on the side window. On Monday, as promised., we called Erie to get the information for our insurance and also Visa to make sure we had the in-kind benefit. Both of these services were to be taken off our bill once the information was suppled. Called 1-888-901-5121 on Monday the 17th twice, once busy and 2nd time hung up on after we told them we were calling with the information they needed. Called again Tuesday the 18th and kept getting busy signals. Not only was this a terrible experience initially, but customer service once they knew why we called, decided to hang up and not answer the phone after they saw the number. Thankfully, the return went smoothly and very glad the person who waited on us was helpful. The rep at the desk upon return, Dasha, informed us that all she has to do is ask for proof, if not available then it would have been accepted, that being two adults in there 70's would have insurance.
Answer: I want someone on the phone from Easirent to explain to me why they aren't the fraud they clearly are...
Answer: They tried to charge me an extra £120 on arrival to upgrade as they'd run out of cars of the booked class. Argued and argued but they only threatened to call the police to remove me from their office. Had to pay £55 for a taxi and wasted an hour and a half.
Answer: Depends on the size but i was about £27 each for just a 2 day car hire. And i had to fit them both myself! What a company.
