Totally shady company with well trained staff to empty your wallet avoid this company at all cost as your credit card balance will surely climb
BEWARE: Easirent is a fraudulent company
BEWARE: This company is a rip-off. They do not respect the prepaid vouchers. I had to pay again for what was already prepaid through the intermediary (e.g. One-way drop off, cross border fee and unlimited mileage).
Moreover, their cars are full of dents and scratches. Then they charge your credit card for them...
I'm really disgusted by their fraudulent behaviour.
SHAME ON YOU #Easirent
Absolute garbage of a company. They will make you wait for an obscene amount of time in a building with NO A/C only to tell you different conditions and prices then what you agreed to in your contract. The people who work here are truly bottom of the barrel as far as brain cells and manners go. If I were you I would heed all the poor reviews here and stay FAR, far away from Easirent.
I've rented cars a few times and never had as many problems with a car rental as I had with this one, a huge queue and waiting over an hour to get the car, rude employees, never had problems with my card to hold the deposit However, they did not accept and charged me a fee in addition to the rent of 111.00 pounds told me they would not charge me anything else, the same day they charged more 95.00 do not know what! The vehicle was dirty and the tank was not full I spoke to the person on the survey and he said he knows the car and knows that everything is alright! It was the worst rental company not indicated to anyone easy has nothing!
We prebooked and prepaid for an 11 day rental out of Glasgow Airport as part of our extended European trip. We made a mistake on the start date by one day, and when we arrived to collect our car the following day, we were told that our reservation had been cancelled and we could either forfeit the entire rental amount or pay an additional 70 pounds per day for one of two available cars(which was more than twice what we had paid in prepayment per day). The employee told us that there were very few cars available at the airport with automatic transmissions and that the additional charge was "today's going rate". We tried to get part of our prepayment refunded and he was very rude and said we signed a contract (which we didn't get a copy of until the day the payment automatically posted since we booked through RyanAir) and we had no options. We contacted BUDGET and they had multiple available cars that met our needs and their price was about what we paid as a prepayment. When we arrived at Budget, we were offered upgrades to much better cars than we were offered by Easirent for 10-20 USD per day. (which we still didn't do). I felt like I was at a SLEEZY USED CAR LOT and was being sold a bill of goods. We are working with our credit card company to get a refund, but not holding our breath. RUN AWAY FROM EASIRENT AS FAST AS YOU CAN - IT IS NOT WORTH THE HASSLE AND ATTITUDE!
This was by far the worst car rental experience I've ever had. Waited for over an hour for the Orlando airport collection shuttle to arrive; the phone number provided is an automated message and there was no way of contacting the car rental company; they did not have the SUV I had booked and "upgraded" me to a people carrier i. E. a car I didn't want; the car was dirty and only 1/4 full; the inspection report which I signed at 23h00 indicated no scratches, etc. which turned out not to be the case when I looked at the car in the light of (next) day; there was a real hard sell on a toll fee for the rental period amounting to over $200 which I had to decline several times (and ended up spending ~$5 in toll fees over 16 days); my prepaid rental agreement with EasyRentCars.Com, a booking portal, included zero excess which Easirent refused to honour this and insisted that I take out additional excess insurance through them or accept an $1800 excess liability which I reluctantly was forced to do.
Add to this Unfriendly and Unhelpful Staff... Never Again!
Horrible experience, didn't have ay of the 3 cars we reserved! Gave us a van with dents/scratches down the side, broken wipers and bald tires! Said that was all they had! 5 carseats we reserved were in locked closet and NO ONE had the keys! Waited over an hour for someone to show up and unlock closet, then given crappy worn car seats! Horrible experience all around. I would rate negative 5 star!
I returned a hire care yesterday, which was a brand new car, I have insurance for car hire so I declined their insurance this time which I had done on a previous hiring, The car was Black and it had rain marks as it had been raining, The attendant there said "wait here in the office and then went outside alone, he then called me and said that there was a scuff on the bumper, and pointed to a small mark which was white, I said that I had not damaged the car and that when I rubbed it with my finger it started to come off, I said that there is no scratching or mark, you can polish it and there will be nothing there, he said we dont polish the cars, and that I would have to pay 150 pounds, 75 for the "Damage"" and 75 administration charges, he smirked and said, that is what happens if you dont take our insurance, I thought he was joking but he was not and I was charge 150 pounds for non existent damage, My husband who is a retired police officer phone them and they stuck to their story and refused to reimburse the money referring us to their customer service dept, we have booked before with them, and my husband had a booking for the next two weeks which he has now cancelled. Be advised, they are a very dodgy company, read the reviews carefully and look for a hire car elsewhere This was at Stansted airport centre
CarJet.com and Easirent.com WARNING! WARNING! Are part of the same company
I rented a car from CarJet.com for collection on 29/06/2019 from Birmingham Airport at 12.30.
My flight Number was EI 3264
The flight was delayed by 3.5 hrs from Dublin and therefore I was unable to get to Birmingham on time.
I rang Easirent.com when I arrived at Birmingham ( as instructed) and it took them 50 mins to arrive and was then asked to go to their depot to collect the car.
I ( and my family) proceeded to collect the car from Easirent.com Birmingham and I was told by Easirent.com representative, `` You are over 2 hours late and the car has been given to another customer``
I asked, ``was this stipulation on the Terms & Conditions``, and got no reply!.
I requested another car therefore and I was told, `` The money you paid for the Car Hire is non refundable as you are over 2 hours late collecting it, so therefore you can book another car but you must pay for it again ``, which I refused!
I rang Head Office of CarJet.com and was told the same. `` Sorry but should you want another car you must pay for it again``
I had 4 family members with me and all the luggage and had no alternative but to get a taxi from Easirent Depot to my hotel.
I have checked the Booking with CarJet and can not see any reference to being late collecting the car.

Do Not Hire From This Company!
Customer service people are HORRIBLE can not understand them. Lack of communication very rude people none ever answers the phone. There is never a manager on sight to speak with and some lady in customer care by the name of Stephani never put the right information on the computer and I walked out with no car or my money back. PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT RENT FROM HERE! Pay a little extra and have a piece of mind but this place should be closed down!
There was nothing easy about the rental.
DO NOT prepay a booking with Easirent. It's more prudent to set that same amount of money on fire.
Cons:
- Hour wait for the airport shuttle on pickup.
- $500 deposit for rental car (which was 4x the cost of rental).
- $75 reinstatement fee, due to being late on reservation (reinstatement of rental was initially rejected by manager. Had to threaten with lawyer before they allowed me to be extorted so I could get the car I booked).
- Car was not only severely dirty, the windshield had a 32" crack, one bald tire, 1/2 tank of fuel, and poor A/C.
- Car also had heavy bodywork damage
- Three months later, the company has charged over $100 for three Florida tolls that we're incurred while I was in Canada or in transit in an airplane. Their own paperwork contradicts their claim that I incurred the tolls. Still waiting for toll refund
- Nearly 3 weeks to receive draconian security deposit back on Credit Card.
Pros:
- If you like mazes, you're in luck! Their customer service system is one!
- Are you the fighting type? You'll enjoy fighting to not be extorted, for the rental you already booked, and for money that was yours in the first place. As well as disputing tolls that happened while you were in another country.
- Those that like renting wrecked cars, and those that are worse than anything they've ever owned, even as a teenager, Easirent has a fleet to accommodate your every need.
- Waiting for the shuttle affords you quality time to catch up on a book, check your investments, or find another rental car company.
I travel dozens of times per year for work, and have rented hundreds of cars over the years. This was, far and away, the worst experience and quality of car and service I have ever experienced.
Do yourself a favor, avoid Easirent. Even if the price is attractive. It will cost you more in the long run.
As others have said the company should not be in business. I booked through CheapO air and when I went to Luton (UK) the problems started. The CheapOAir paper work was wrong and I emailed them with in 2 hours of the error booked 20/21 listed as 20/27. I explained and though other errors a new booking was done. There was only one person visually working with up to 3 others walking in and out. The main contention with the staff serving me was car in which the driver was in hospital, not answering his phone, and trying to locate the car. That is where his interest was. Eventually a car ( with upgrades not requ ested by me) was promised. Some-one is getting it for you. And so on. I had a verbal with the guy in the forecourt in front of witnesses were he said he would cancel the contract. The charge went through so I am now battling for a refund REMEMBER I DID NOT SIGHT THE CAR YET DRIVE IT. RENTAL AGREEMENT *******
No address for location on website that I could find. Didn't have the type car I reserved (Med. Size SUV). Had to take one of three (3) smaller sedan cars on the lot or was offered a commercial looking van... lol)
Counter employee was rude. Car was dirty, had to wait for vacuum, no wash. No gas at pickup of smaller and different type vehicle than was reserved. Worst location and facilities ever seen. Would never use again.
Vehicle damage scam. Charged for a dent I couldn't even see, which the attendant went straight to as soon as I handed the car back. Also tried to keep my fuel deposit as I didn't keep the receipt for filling up, even though the car was full. Avoid at all costs
Summary:
Between inaccurate information, unfair fuel policies, hidden charges, and a ludicrous drop-off charges I STRONGLY advise that nobody use this car hire company.
Location:
They claim to be in Glasgow's Central Station, but are a 25 minute walk from the station. I don't mind a walk, but this might come as an unexpected surprise and I certainly wouldn't classify it as a station rental company.
Fuel Policy:
You have to either take their over-priced tank of fuel, or buy fuel from the local garage AND PROVE IT with a receipt. I have rented cars all over the world and have never come across this kind of insane requirement. Surely fuel is fuel regardless of where it is bought? I was given a nonsense reason of "it might not be full if you fill it far away" which is fine, but I was also told that they'd not accept it if I "topped off" at the local garage and would require receipts from all garages.
This is completely bananas, and made me suspicious of the whole thing, but I proceeded with the hire anyway.
Pick up:
I was given a car, and told it was "immaculate, not a scratch" but sure enough, when I did my walk around (whilst being hurried by the staff member) I found at least 5 obvious scratches. They clearly wanted me to not inspect properly, or hoped I'd not notice.
Drop-off:
Upon drop off I was told that one of the aforementioned scratches had happened during my rental. Despite having highlighted it, the first staff member hadn't noted it down and told me "not to worry about that one". The scratch is barely visible, thinner than a human hair, but still they managed to file it under a charge category which saw me paying £260. It's a case of my word against theirs, but this was a serious case of going by the book, even when it was clearly unfair.
The worst bit is, they won't bother repairing it at all - they never do!
The people at the desk managing the reservations are caught between a rock and a hard place. I picked up the car on empty and returned with a half a tank- havent received a refund nor has the hold been lifted of my credit card and the car was returned on 4/18- today is 4/25. Pay the extra 20$ to rent from a reputable company- I should have known better- Orlando Florida
Please please avoid.
This is the first time I've ever been compelled to write a review. But my experience of Easirent is so so bad that I have to warn other people.
Unfortunately, during my car rental, I picked up a traffic fine. Annoying but my fault and these things happen! Instead of notifying me about the fine, Easirent passed on my details to a debt collector company. I received a letter from this company, before I had even been made aware of the fine from the council!
Easirent's Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) department can only be contacted by email (no telephone), and are very slow at replying (they took 10 days to respond to my query asking for more information about the fine).
In the end, I paid the debt collector company in order to close the matter, worried that the fine would only get larger and affect my credit rating.
This is by far the worst customer experience that I have ever had. Please do not use them, it's not worth getting mixed up with this lot, who will try to get as much of your hard-earned cash from you as possible.
The directions when landing in Ft. Lauderdale to have the Eadirent shuttle pick you are very unclear.
We went to the designated waiting place and called the phone number provided. I calked for 40 min. With no one even answeribg their phone! I finally got theough and they said they'd have the shuttle there in 15 min. We waiting 35 more min. In the hot sun as other ahuttles fir other car rental places came and went multiple times.
In the shuttle I had no seatbelt! It was broken and covered with duct tape!
We reserved a 'premium' vehicle. The guy at the counter told us it wasn't there and that if we upgraded to premium he could give us a vehicle now.
I told him that we had ALREADY reserved a premium vehicle and showed it to him from the app on my phone!
When we reserved it, I also paid the extra $50 for extra coverage (even though our insurance co. Told us that the full coverage insurance we have would be fine). That didn't stop him from hard selling THEIR insurance package. Be prepared with all your proof of insurance or they will insist you buy into their plan. Thankfully, we have great insurance and a quick phone call and they forwarded our paperwork right to my husbands husband's phone.
They will then try to convince you to buy a $75.00 toll pass. YOU DO NOT NEED IT.
In fact, all we did was program the google maos on our phobe app to "avoid tolls." No problem and it really didn't take us out if our way at all. In fact, at one point I was curious if there was a time difference to one location we were trying to get to and tried it both ways on my phone. No difference at all.
Also, if you have an early return flight, as we did, be prepared to schedule an Uber or Taxi in advance to take you back to the airport.
We are still waiting for the $500 deposit to be returned to our credit card. It's only been 7 days though so Ill give it another week before I start calling people.
I'll let you know if we have trouble getting it back.
DO NOT USE this company. I booked a hire car for 2 days in London. Upon arriving at the airport at around 10:30am, I travelled to an industrial estate where the rental place was set up, only to discover they had no cars available. I was not offered an apology, but was told that if I waited until 4pm, I 'might' be able to get a car. When arguing my point, I was sworn at by the manager. I was left with no alternative but to leave without a car. I wrote to the car company on my return home and had to chase a response. I got a half-arse apology and my money back. A complete waste of time when there are so many competitors out there. Look elsewhere.
I reserved a car in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida after my flight arrives 9:40pm. My flight was delayed and didn't get in till 1am. When i called Easirent after landing the recording says wait for shuttle every 15 minutes. Waited till 2am no shuttle only to find out (from another rental company) that Easirent closes at 10pm. Lucky I got a car from Hertz. When I get home I see Easirent charged my CC $56.26USD. I tried calling 10x to complain and no one would answer phone. Expedia couldn't get my money back and just said "sorry." The Easirent contract says fees if cancelled in less than 72 hours --- but how am I supposed to know my flight would be late 72 hours beforehand? This company is a fraud, a scam, DO NOT USE! I am waiting now for my bank to cancel the CC payment.
Answer: To whom it may concern, This is the complaint letter I sent to those whom I thought could help my wife and I solve an issue that we found to be Very troubling. It involved an employee at the Jacksonville Easienrt, specifically the manager named Franky. Priceline Booking Number 202-281-644-38 Easirent Reference Number 1863754 Easirent Wally Park, Jacksonville, FL airport We went to pick-up our rental on February 15th, 2020 and had all the information we were told to bring (credit card, drivers license). The young man, Franky waiting on us, informed us we needed proof of our auto insurance which we did not bring because we were not asked to bring it. When we challenged that he informed us that local rules can require them to ask for proof of insurance. We have Erie Insurance and at this time on a Saturday they are closed and not open on Sunday. The manager, Franky, said we couldn't have the car without proof of insurance. We told him we would call and give them that information on Monday and he said ok. Then he blindsided us about the in-kind coverage on our credit card which we thought we had but would check with Bank America, his response made us feel threatened and also taken advantage of. Again, none of this was mentioned on any of the documents. It was hard to understand Franky at times which only made the situation worse so my wife took over. Once again, we were told we couldn't take the car without the proof of insurance, which also was never mentioned on the paperwork. My wife explained we would call them on Monday with the information so the charges that we paid extra for, would be taken off once that information was given Franky and that would be ok. We signed off and waited for the car, which was not what we asked for. It looked like the worst one on the lot and the windows were very dirty and very hard to see out of the windows because of the stickers on the side window. On Monday, as promised., we called Erie to get the information for our insurance and also Visa to make sure we had the in-kind benefit. Both of these services were to be taken off our bill once the information was suppled. Called 1-888-901-5121 on Monday the 17th twice, once busy and 2nd time hung up on after we told them we were calling with the information they needed. Called again Tuesday the 18th and kept getting busy signals. Not only was this a terrible experience initially, but customer service once they knew why we called, decided to hang up and not answer the phone after they saw the number. Thankfully, the return went smoothly and very glad the person who waited on us was helpful. The rep at the desk upon return, Dasha, informed us that all she has to do is ask for proof, if not available then it would have been accepted, that being two adults in there 70's would have insurance.
Answer: I want someone on the phone from Easirent to explain to me why they aren't the fraud they clearly are...
Answer: They tried to charge me an extra £120 on arrival to upgrade as they'd run out of cars of the booked class. Argued and argued but they only threatened to call the police to remove me from their office. Had to pay £55 for a taxi and wasted an hour and a half.
Answer: Depends on the size but i was about £27 each for just a 2 day car hire. And i had to fit them both myself! What a company.
