Easirent Car was not easy at all. We had the rudest girl on the service desk, very miserable and unhelpful. Rude when we didn't accept any extra add ons. Didn't offer any advice when declining every single proof of address we had to offer. Blamed us for there system failing and not accepting any of our creditcards. Said we had bank issues. Hands down worst experience with any of the car rentals we have used. Walked away with no car, missed my family wedding. (Family from NZ were over)
This girl needs to learn how to smile, be polite and do her job better.
I would recommend everyone to use Greenmotion, they provide excellent service!
PLEASE... PLEASE... PLEASE Do not use Easirent. It was by far the worst car rental experience of my life. DO NOT get sucked in by the low rental price. They are charging me over double the amount quoted and are refusing to refund me the money. They particularly prey on foreigners and manipulate them into paying extra fees. I've disputed the charge with my credit card company. And I'll continue to add this review to ALL the Easirent (or FOX) reviews I can find.
DO NOT USE easirent! They rip you off. Charged us extra fees to drop off at different location - even though you book it with different location selected. Plus they would not except our "paid for global insurance we already paid for on priceline". There location is a 10 minute drive from airports away from the other rental cars companies - so you don't have a choice to say forget it. They have no director of customer service and Paul Henley and Janice East service manager would not read or listen to our problem with how their company runs business. The representative tried to get us to pay extra insurance of $360 then kept lowering the rate - this was done on a separate piece - I wonder what kind of scam the Edinburgh office is running! Plus you can get no one on the phone.
I have rented from Easement Heathrow Airport a few times and had good cars and good service. But...
Following a rental they will send you link to review, and for doing so they will provide you with a promotional offer - like £5 off your next rental or free extra diver etc.
I had a long term rental so the extra driver offer was very attractive and would have saved me over £270. I got to the desk outside normal hours and the lone guy there was unable to deal with this offer - after making several phone calls etc. Having just come off a long-haul flight, spending 40 mins at a rental desk was the last thing that I wanted! Eventually I was asked to pay for the extra driver and ring customer services during office hours to claim a refund.
I rang and the customer services and the rep. Said that to get the refund I would need to send them a copy of the offer e-mail, survey and survey confirmation (even though I presented all of this at the rental desk). I did what was asked, however over 4 months later and 6 e-mails and 2 calls still no refund.
To renege on an offer is dishonesty in my book, however, it is the scant regard to customer service after the event that this company exhibits that has really rilled me. My last e-mail to Customer Services was the 20th June 17 - no one responds!
Pick this company on displayed price only - forget about their offers.
Hired a car for one night for my daughter at a cost of around £25. On arriving to collect it today from Heathrow, my daughter was told she had to pay a £1,250 deposit on her credit card which a) seems a bit steep and b) she couldn't pay as she only has one credit card and did not have that amount available. We were then told if we take out their insurance for £74 this meant we wouldn't have to pay the deposit. However, this means that one day and night rental for a Ford Fiesta was nearly £100. We decided not to go ahead and asked if we could have a refund. Was referred to a company called Jigsaw Travel who apparently we'd booked through. I wasn't aware of this, thought I'd done it directly. Anyway, the long and short of it was I couldn't get a refund because the deposit amount was stated in the Terms and Conditions so effectively we had refused the car. All I can say is thank goodness it was only £25 lost.
Absolute rip-off, would not touch them again with an extremely long bargepole.
Booked with Expedia.ca for rental in Dublin.
Waited more than 1.5 hours for shuttle pickup from the Dublin airport. The driver was just driving around (along with hundreds other cars) with absolutly no sign saying Easirent. He approached and asked "Are you waiting for me?" as if the whole world was supposed to know that he was the Easirent shuttle driver... The shuttle was a regular minivan.
Rental office very small with tens of travellers piling up over the desk. Had to wait another 45 minutes there.
They tried to force me to buy insurance although I had a letter from the credit card company saying that I am covered in any contry in the world. Eventually they allowed me to get the car without insurance (but made sure to tell me that I would be resonsble for the full value of the car up to 65,000... for a car worth no more than 30,000).
The 7 passenger car I got was damaged, full length scratch on the driver side (both doors, wings, etc.)... obviously form a previous accident. I made sure they recorded all the damages to the body of the car on the condition report... Too bad I did not take pictures of the full car. There were scratches on the front wheels, which I did not pay attention to (as I was busy recording damages to the full body). When returning the car they charged 270 EUR for the scratches on the front wheels... No point in arguing with them (as they would not take me to the airport if I did not sign their papers).
Expedia and I tried numerous times to ask for the previous condition report (that would show the full damage from the accident), but no replies from the Customer Service department (probably non existent).
You would think their prices are lower, but in the end you end up paying much more than with the other companies.
Stay away from Easirent!
Total scumbags. These dirtbags lied to me when I got the the Dublin rental location to pick up my car and said the car that I booked was going to cost me more money and instead showed me a smaller car and said that is what I paid for. They also proceeded to tack on hidden fees and expenses and didn't communicate this to me when I paid for my car. These guys are the scum of the earth and shouldn't be allowed to do business.
Dramatic experience. I hired a car with them. I forgot the license at their office and they did not even warn me when I returned the car. Arrived in Italy I called them to retrieve the license with an expedition with a courier and after 1 month they still have not shipped. Shameful
Review for easirent
The worst rental company ever. The experience is like a hell. Completely agreed with other one star reviews here. We have experienced the same from hidden charges, being forced to buy their expensive CDW insurance, being asked to present a letter from my credit company if I want to use my card to cover this stupid CDW, being forced to leave deposit up to 1250 pounds. Worst of all, when we returned the car, they spotted a few tiny scratch at one wheel cover and claimed it's a damage. They charged 250 pounds for those almost unnoticeable scratches. I have rented cars internationally for many times, such kind of things never happened. This is a real bad company. Their business model seems to be: lure the customers with low price, then set up traps for you to fall in and eventually charge you much higher than regular car rental. This is the worst rental company I ever experienced all over the world during my over 20 years driving experience. Such kind of scam-based company should not exist. A completely shameless business.
YOU WILL NOT SAVE MONEY. Pressurising customers into extras or ripping them off with damage. Terrible experience from the start. They pressurise customers into buying full excess insurance which more than doubles the cost. If you refuse like me they just find some tyre "damage" at the end of the rental and charge you. Ultimately the either way you'll pay more than a real company like hertz budget thrifty etc
Great car, but poor customer service and upcharges. I rented a car from London Gatwick and their car was not connected to pay the charges for congestion fee or tunnel fees. In London there are not toll booths but there is an assumption that you know when you are to pay and how. We tried to pay online and apparently the transactions did not post. Now with multiple service fees from Easirent, we are paying 172 pounds instead of 13 pounds! The service fees are 110 pounds! I am very displeased and will never rent from them again and will strongly dissuade anyone from doing so.
This was by far the least professional car rental company I have ever dealt with. I booked the car on Obitz.com and when I arrived at my scheduled pickup time, the line was out the door. We waited nearly 3 hours to finally get a car that was far smaller than the one we reserved. In addition to this, there were up-charges and hidden fees everywhere. All told, we paid 5x what Orbitz.com said the cost would be. This includes a 95£ deposit for gas that was only partially refunded. Once we finally got on the road we got a flat tire only to find that the spare was flat as well and needed to be replaced. Due to this, my 5 member family was stranded for the night on a country road late in the evening. It took over 24 hours to get this fixed and back on the road. What a nightmare! Others may report a good experience with this company, but if you choose to rent from them you will likely be very disappointed.
Using Easirent was the worst decision we made on our Scotland trip. Upon reserving the car, we opted for the FULL COVERAGE insurance that included tire damage. We were thankful that we paid for this insurance when we ran into some sharp rocks on the side of a winding road on our way to Glasgow. The tire shop we were sent to told us that they were able to fix the tires and the wheel, but Easirent decided they wanted send the car to Aberdeen to get fixed. They seized the car from us and told us we could no longer have the car because the accident was "driver negligence". It was NOT negligence... it was an accident. And we paid to have coverage for ALL accidents. How can you claim to provide your customers with FULL COVERAGE insurance, and then when something happens say that it was "driver negligence" so you have to no longer provide your PAYING CUSTOMER with your services?
We were left stranded in a small town somewhere in Northern Scotland with no idea how to get to where we needed to go. How can a rental car company strand two young ladies in the middle of a foreign country?
The worst part of all of it was that they ended up charging me the extra cost to fill up the gas tank. It ended up costing me almost $200 for fuel through Easirent. How did they expect me to fill up the tank when they took the car away from us unwillingly? When I FINALLY got a hold of customer service (after almost 3 weeks of waiting for a response), they told me that they cannot reimburse me for that charge.
We had to spend at least $200 on extra train tickets and transportation after they left us stranded. And now they won't even reimburse me for the fuel costs? It's unacceptable.
I rented a car online from Easirent and picked up from Bristol airport on 18/4 for 2 da
Ys. As of today 9/5 the deposit charged on my credit card still has not been released. I have emailed them countless times but they never reply. Made countless calls, and was told by the guy that answered the phone, 'I have been too busy to reverse the charge on the credit card', that was 5 days ago! They are hopeless and will never use them again.
I had the pleasure of hiring at Heathrow. Firstly, it was 2 hours from getting out of the airport to driving the car away. Bus took 30 mins to come, 20 mins to get there, then they somehow spend an hour getting you your car. I think they grind you down through time until you agree to take and pay whatever. My rep even spent 10 minutes hand writing down the insurance options even though i know he had a card with all the options on. He conveniently left out the cheapest options. And I too ended up paying a figure that it seems their sales reps have to hit - £168 extra for insurance. Plus while i was there, i saw 10 people try to get their cars. I heard the phrase bait and switch 4 times as they didn't honor free driver coupons to 2 customers, plus 2 other people got lesser cars than they paid for, with one screaming for his money back for 30 minutes. One other even left the place he was so mad at them and he had a platinum amex and they didn't honor his cdw insurance from them without a very specific letter etc. The manager was 3 feet away serving another customer and didn't even interveen or address the client's raging concerns. This company is built on false advertising, and rip off tactics, with the explicit goal of taking desperate tourists for all they can get away with. As for me, i agreed to the upsell insurance, so that's on me, but I was a day late and missed my car. So now they only had the most expensive car and it was conveniently the last one on the lot, so i paid through the nose for it. Then of course when the guys brought my car up, it was a ford mondeo like i wanted, stick shift. I asked if this was right as i though they didn't have it in stock. No, it's right. But of course it wasn't, and that was reserved for another client. And it might have been, but based on what i saw that 75 minutes i was there, i highly doubt it. Never again, and I recommend the same to anyone else too.
DISASTER!
We rented their car in November and suddenly in March 2017 they started to charge my credit card some "fees" for no damn reason. Utter disaster. They don't even send a bill for what they are charging.
I have rented with easirent at least 5 times in the past year or so from two of their London airport branches
The ONLY reason I have gone back in the past is because they are cheap.
Their service is awful and every time you rent they will find a way to bully you into paying more.
Upon arriving at the Glasgow High Street branch the gentlemen behind the desk started the usual process by trying to get me to add an additional driver. I had to point out that the person with me didnt have a license for him to stop.
I provided my licence and proof of address. Same license and proof of address type document I have used all other 5 times I rented from them. I was told he had to call customer service as my license is in my maiden name and proof address is in my married name.
The gentlemen then informed me after his call I was unable to rent from them. As I could steal the car...
I pointed out that this has never been a problem. Not any of the other 5 times have I ever been questioned.
His response was he was doing his job.
After going back and forward the gentlemen told me (with a huge smirk on his face) he would give me the car for £230.00 versus the £39.91 I paid online.
At this point I decided I to walk out. I appreciate terms and conditions are in place for a reason however if you are prepare to "bend" the rules for for money - then you are being dishonest!
I called customer service after I left, spoke to a lady that wasn't very friendly who pointed out to me that even if I did pay more I couldn't have the car.
So I would be really interested to know what is the actual policy? And do the rental agents get commission if they manage to bully more money out of you.
I jumped online and reserved another car with Sixt. Their location is very convenient right by Glasgow City Central.
Within 30mins of making my new booking I was driving out of Sixt car park. I paid £67 and I got a much nicer car then what I have previously rented with easirent.
The gentlemen that helped me at Sixt was also extremely helpful and made us feel welcome in their office.
Sixt has gained a regular customer!
If I could I would give zero stars. I was quoted £38 for the few days of my rental, but when I picked up the car it jumped to £146. I had just come off a long haul flight and didn't question this till after and when I called to question it, I was given the run around. I was not given the full information at pickup to avoid the extra charges. I then needed the car for one more day and, even though I was told I would get the same rate, all be it extortionate, I was then charged even more. Do not rent from easirent. Read the reviews and take heed.
I've researched the brand online and despite mixed reviews I've decided to try it.
I've called the company 3 times before renting to make sure all the details and pre-arrangements are right and there is no misunderstanding.
On the day of rental I've called the branch twice to confirm later pick-up.
And then things turned out not as expected.
First of, the free shuttle bus from London Gatwick to branch that is supposed to operate all the time does have specific times - and 40 minute slots - and there is no way of knowing the time but calling the company from the bus stop. Secondly, the last shuttle is leaving from London Gatwick at 22:30, which was not communicated - few customers had to take a £16 taxi to get to the branch when I was there, rightly angry.
Worst of all, upon arrival I was told that they don't take a deposit on a Debit Card and therefore the only way to rent it is to buy an insurance package. The Debit Card Deposit issue was not mentioned anywhere in the terms&cond, on the website or via phone. The staff at the reception acted like its a routine thing to say to customer and they admitted it happens very often.
Therefore, from £20 rental the price jumped to £100, and I was left with either taking a £16 taxi back to the airport, or taking the wonderful offer. Oh, did I mention there is a Wifi that doesn't work?
So at the end I decided to take the 500% more expensive offer as I was stuck in the branch at 11:30pm with tired passengers waiting only to get home.
The car itself was OK, however staff acted like there is no need to check anything and I was prompted through every signature check ('Don't have to read it - just sign here!') - it was ridiculous.
Overall - avoid - better to pay few pounds extra rather than play a russian roulette with this company.
Answer: To whom it may concern, This is the complaint letter I sent to those whom I thought could help my wife and I solve an issue that we found to be Very troubling. It involved an employee at the Jacksonville Easienrt, specifically the manager named Franky. Priceline Booking Number 202-281-644-38 Easirent Reference Number 1863754 Easirent Wally Park, Jacksonville, FL airport We went to pick-up our rental on February 15th, 2020 and had all the information we were told to bring (credit card, drivers license). The young man, Franky waiting on us, informed us we needed proof of our auto insurance which we did not bring because we were not asked to bring it. When we challenged that he informed us that local rules can require them to ask for proof of insurance. We have Erie Insurance and at this time on a Saturday they are closed and not open on Sunday. The manager, Franky, said we couldn't have the car without proof of insurance. We told him we would call and give them that information on Monday and he said ok. Then he blindsided us about the in-kind coverage on our credit card which we thought we had but would check with Bank America, his response made us feel threatened and also taken advantage of. Again, none of this was mentioned on any of the documents. It was hard to understand Franky at times which only made the situation worse so my wife took over. Once again, we were told we couldn't take the car without the proof of insurance, which also was never mentioned on the paperwork. My wife explained we would call them on Monday with the information so the charges that we paid extra for, would be taken off once that information was given Franky and that would be ok. We signed off and waited for the car, which was not what we asked for. It looked like the worst one on the lot and the windows were very dirty and very hard to see out of the windows because of the stickers on the side window. On Monday, as promised., we called Erie to get the information for our insurance and also Visa to make sure we had the in-kind benefit. Both of these services were to be taken off our bill once the information was suppled. Called 1-888-901-5121 on Monday the 17th twice, once busy and 2nd time hung up on after we told them we were calling with the information they needed. Called again Tuesday the 18th and kept getting busy signals. Not only was this a terrible experience initially, but customer service once they knew why we called, decided to hang up and not answer the phone after they saw the number. Thankfully, the return went smoothly and very glad the person who waited on us was helpful. The rep at the desk upon return, Dasha, informed us that all she has to do is ask for proof, if not available then it would have been accepted, that being two adults in there 70's would have insurance.
Answer: I want someone on the phone from Easirent to explain to me why they aren't the fraud they clearly are...
Answer: They tried to charge me an extra £120 on arrival to upgrade as they'd run out of cars of the booked class. Argued and argued but they only threatened to call the police to remove me from their office. Had to pay £55 for a taxi and wasted an hour and a half.
Answer: Depends on the size but i was about £27 each for just a 2 day car hire. And i had to fit them both myself! What a company.
