You are a rip off, We got to Malaga and was refused the car because we would not pay nearly 300 uros we were told my driving license was not good enough we needed an international license, we argued that nowhere does it state that our UK license was no longer valid and as We booked from uk there was nothing to say UK drivers needed to get this additional license, further more the person at the airport was rude and made it quite clear he was not intrested in that there was nothing on the doyouspain website, when we called the telephone number we spoke to somene who said his name was Mathew his employee number was 5000 and when we said the same he just said we no longer accept uk drivers license and when asked where on the website he said he didnt know

These are really very impudent and cynical scammers, I don't know how the European authorities still allow this! We are refugees from Ukraine, spent our last money to be on wheels, paid for the reservation on the website. Since we had Ukrainian and not international driver license, we were denied a car. The doyouspain team does not answer letters and calls, money is not returned! Beware of scammers, don't contact this company!

We are very dissatisfied with the service provided from DoYouSpain.

Our complaint is that they did not inform us up front of the new requirement for an International Drivers Permit that came in on the 28th Feb 2022. It should have been very clear on their web site at the point of browsing and booking the car hire.

That cost us an additional 252 euros or around £200 (less the £5.50 for the IDP we could have bought in the UK before we arrived). We requested a refund but they did not respond.

The new need for an IDP only appeared in in the small print of our DoYouSpain contract; It was not flagged up front in the DoYouSpain web site at the point of ordering or in the follow up email. If they could add it to their contract small print, then they could flag it on the main ordering page and confirming email. You might even say it was more important to do that given this is a brand new requirement.

On arrival at the Delpaso car hire office on the 2nd March 2022 we were then given the options of:

1. Pay an excess insurance waiver for 252 Euros (why that affects a legal requirement was not explained).
A. Delpaso seemed to be eager to offer this option and appeared to be offering it to many customers while we waited, some of whom became very upset.
2. Call DoYouSpain to get a different car hire contract.
3. Get a bus.

We first tried to cancel the DoYouSpain contract online but the web site said it was past the start time so could not be cancelled. We did call their DoYouSpain number and after 50 mins waiting for an answer the lady said that she could try and get a refund from Delpaso (no guarantee...), and she could offer a new contract for 509 euros (our original contract was for 356 euros).

We cannot get an IDP now we are in Spain, you can only get one from the post office in the UK, so our choices were:

1. Lose our original 356 euros contract booking with no guarantee of a refund and no car to get to our accommodation.
2. Pay for a new contract at the higher price of 509 euros, with no guarantee of a refund for our original 356 euros contract.
3. Pay 252 euros for an additional insurance that seemed a lot like the usual rip off excess waiver.

We chose the 252 euros because we were hostages at that point and it was the cheapest option. If they had informed us we needed an IDP earlier in the purchase, we would have bought one for £5.50 when we bought our Euros in the Post Office.

Worth company ever. It is big lie. You wont able to cancel, they overcharge plus there is no phone or email to contact. PLEASE DO NOT RENT CAR WITH THEM

They are maybe cheap however when your plane is going to be late they do not refund any money, I have lost £450 for six days car hire including insurances and they have double charged me to rent another car so in total cost me in total £800 for 6days.
When I have complained they have just simply said I have lost the entire money as their terms and conditions say that if you are more than six hours late they will release the car to someone else and they will charge you for the entire week and you lose all the money.
I would have been happy to pay and lose one day but to lose all the money and they get double profit I believe that is well out of order and very close to a fraud.

Bij afhalen gisteren in de luchthaven bleek deze verzekering er geen te zijn.
Omwille van het late aankomstuur en geen contact mogelijk met office do you spain taxi genomen naar competa ( ong 80 euro)
Uiteindelijk vandaag rechtstreeks bij een verhuurbedrijf een auto gehaald die een stuk goedkoper was ( verzekering incl)
Zo wordt auto huren een heel kostelijke zaak
Graag compensatie huurgeld auto, verzekering en daaraan gekoppelde taxirit
Mij zijn ze als klant voorgoed kwijt
Is de 2de keer dat ik bij do you spain boek, de 2de keer problemen en een ganse dag vakantie kwijt

Intense marketing strategy that lures customers by quoting low rent-a-car prices. You´ll end up paying everything and more once the ´refuelling fee´ is forced upon you and want to ensure you have a decent insurance for your car. A clear cut example that cheap is expensive many times. Preferable to go with established, more transparent companies. If you use this company, please make sure you read and understand everything.

Sn brussles verandert vluchturen, weg resevatie, weg geld, maanden op voorhand. Nooit antwoorden op mails of telefoon maar wel mailen voor extra verzekering. Dit is crimineel

I mistakenly selected the incorrect dates for my pickup. So I immediately tried calling the company to change the dates. They did not answer the phone for 2 hours! (And many other people keep saying the same thing. They are impossible to get ahold of. They don't even give you a contact email.)

So because of the fact that I was unable to contact them, the booking began without me being able to pick up the car. And therefore the booking was labeled as a "no show" and then canceled.

They refuse refunds even though it's their fault that the booking was a "No Show".
So now I have already paid for this booking but is stil left without a car. It would be better just to flush the money down the toilet.

They will not let you modify the Pick-up dates or times even though you selected the incorrect dates.

Do NOT pay these people. You will regret it! THEY ARE SCAMMERS!

Shocking service from doyouspain Booked via their site for a car in Malaga with WIFI CAR RENT A CAR. Airport pick up was 1hr 20mins after we arrived & then we were left at their locked office on a trading estate 20 mins from the airport. We got an uber & abandoned the hire car! Doyouspain have absolved themselves from helping get a refund despite having received complaints about WIFI CAR RENT A CAR as far back as 2018.

Wij hebben een auto online in Nederland gereserveerd voor een week Mallorca. Omdat mijn vriend niet thuis was heb ik gereserveerd onder mijn naam maar met zijn creditcard. Later zagen wij dat dat niet kon. Wij hebben gebeld ( Spaans nummer) of we dit konden wijzigen maar op geen enkele manier was dit mogelijk. Op de vraag hoe we dan de auto konden huren gaf de dame in gebrekkig Engels dat als ik met mijn debit kaart 1100 euro zou betalen want dan was je gelijk verzekerd en de borg stond dan garant. En dat ik dan na 10 dagen dat bedrag terug gestort zou krijgen. Eenmaal op de dag van ophalen van de auto vertelde de dame aan de balie heel onvriendelijk dat we de auto niet konden huren behalve als we de extra driver en een verzekering namen. Dat kostte ons 328 euro totaal. ( zou 69 euro afgaan als we volle tank retour gaven) Ik werd boos want ik wilde geen verzekering en wilde de oplossing van die 1100 euro. Volgens haar kon dat niet en geen enkele andere manier was mogelijk
Uiteindelijk hebben we dat betaald want we wilden toch de auto meenemen. Op de vraag of het bedrag van de creditcard reservering dan gecancelled zou worden kon zij geen antwoord geven. We zouden ook nog een 3 deurs auto krijgen maar na veel geklaag over de manier van behandelen van de dame bij uitgifte hebben we een 5 deurs auto meegekregen. Nu 3 weken later is ook het geld van de reservering er af gegaan ad 117 euro dus totaal hebben wij voor 6 dagen 448 euro betaald ( ipv de 117euro) te schandalig voor woorden. We gaan nu proberen die 117 euro terug te krijgen maar ze zijn gehaaid want er is bijna geen contact punt. Je wordt dus aan alle kanten genaaid door dit bedrijf. Dus wees gewaarschuwd ga geen auto hier huren maar betaal ietsjes meer bij een betrouwbaarder verhuurbedrijf zonder verborgen kosten en zonder kleine lettertjes etc ( hertz, sixt etc)

My booked my wife a car from Alicante through Do You Spain, I paid upfront for the car and the Platinum insurance. The voucher came through for Goldcar. I read all of the insurance docs and quote from DYS " Goldcar will block £1400 of a credit card in your name but will ask for no money" My wife arrived at the Goldcar desk in Alicante and was told they do not recognise DYS insurance and Charged my wife £429.88. She showed them DYS insurance where it says you will not be charged. My wife was held to ransom "no pay no car". I have emailed the DYS contact page where you get a conformation and "someone will contact you" To date 2 weeks later no contact.

Absolute rip-off, customer services none existent. The website is very slick but totally misleading. We have a holiday home but will never use DYS again

Unjustified refueling fee, miserable and unfriendly service
I took over the rental car with a full tank and handed it in with a full tank. Nevertheless, I was charged a refueling fee of € 31 (!). Reason: because I inadvertently did not specify when booking online that I would like to take over the car in full and return it in full. This is cashing in through the back door. This is an illegal rip off! Never again a rental car from DoYouSpain!

This company are total crooks. Took my booking, took my money. Then when insufficient time to rebook or get a similar deal, emailed and told me that I'd need to pay at the car rental company when I picked up my hire car. I was refunded, but £50 short and was told I'd be refunded in fully once I sent proof I'd hired car.
They haven't responded and it's just a way to rip off customers.
I'd never use this company again. It's fraud on a corporate level.

Hello, my name is Rafael Lopez and I want to make it clear that this company is a total FRAUD AND SCAM. I made a "reservation" through the website and they actually debited my credit card instantly. The reason for my discomfort is that I could not go to pick up the car since I got sick with COVID-19 and I could not travel to Spain... By different routes I have tried to recover the 389 dollars that they STOLEN, I wrote them emails, calls by phone and nothing no matter how hard they do not want to RETURN THE MONEY that one earns with so much effort. This company has no compassion for anything or anyone... Please do not waste your money and avoid being STOLEN and SCAMMED, it is a shame. Unfortunately I gave up claiming the money and I have been in this situation for 3 months. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAMMING COMPANY
