I have rented a car for two weeks. When I arrived to collect the car they denied it on basis that I did not arrive at the exact hour that I said I would arrive, but they have also denied me a refund, referring to hidden clauses in their T&Cs.
Booked a car for two weeks with the wrong pickup time, honest mistake from my side. We arrived with boat to Dénia at 13:15 and the took a taxi to Alicante. I arrived 6 hours later than the pickup time and my booking was cancelled and doyouspain kept all the money.
The funny thing is the car I was going to take was still available at the car rent company. So basically I had to pay for the same car again. This is a deceiving business decision doyouspain has made to earn more money. They basically get to keep all the money and don't give anything to the car renting company. They earn more money when people miss the booking time than when people actually make it to the booking.
My advice is just do the search on doyouspain, but then contact the car renting company directly and they will for sure match and give you a better deal.
I could not reach the customer service at all. For your own good and for your pocket avoid doyouspain at all costs.
Do not book with this company. The insurance they sell will not remove the excess deposit, so you must pay a €1350 deposit when you pick up the car. This is a scam, and nobody should use this third-party website. Instead, book the car directly with the rental company, so you don't have to pay a deposit when you have paid the full insurance. I called their support five minutes after I booked the car to request a full refund because I was misled as it was not mentioned in the booking form that I would have to pay the €1350 deposit. The information about the deposit was only provided by email after I paid, obviously because they know that nobody would book a car with them if they said that there was a €1350 deposit to be paid when collecting the car. Their support is terrible, as they said there would be no way I could get a refund because I could just have read the small print in their terms and conditions. This company is nothing but a scam company, and I will now report to Visa and MasterCard and request my bank to do a chargeback because of fraud. Lesson learned, and in the future, I will always book direct instead of booking via third-party scammers Do You Spain
Do You Spain: I will keep posting bad reviews until I get the refund. I guess you know who is going to be the winner here ;)
Where should I start? First off, DoyouSpain gives a price that is only the beginning in a long list of additional costs that are later imposed on the client. Since they are only an "agent", after paying, the client is sent to the company that actually rents the car (in our case, Click Rent). And this company needs to make some money out of the client.
There we were required to pay the company's insurance policy worth 36 Eur per day (DoyouSpain has an insurance policy mentioned in the contract, but no option to buy it). Also, the full tank policy described by Do you Spain did not apply, so we were told to pay also 31 Eur gas fee (although we returned to car with the full tank). Out of hours return cost an additional 50 Eur. Finally we were charged another 50 Eur for extra cleaning although the car was clean when we left it.
In the end, we ended up paying a price that far exceeded the rate charged by the big rental companies.
I intend to fill a consumer complaint form with the Spanish consumer protection for false advertisement and hidden costs.
Avoid this company "Do You Spain" (and it's other brands Goldcar, Europcar and InterRent & Ubeeqo) at all costs! While their prices may be considerably cheaper than elsewhere their customer service and failure to return my deposit is despicable. I've used this company on a few occasions but previously opted for their expensive collision damage waiver and fuel pre-purchase when pressured at the collection desk. On this occasion, I opted for our own CDW and agreed to return the vehicle tank full. The return of the vehicle all went well and provided a receipt for fuel as advised. It's been 2 months and £1400 deposit is still outstanding. I've completed multiple contact form requests and emailed multiple times with the promise of a return of my deposit. Each time they ask for more information but still no deposit refund. Seems legal action and a complaint to European Car Rental Conciliation Service (ECRCS) is my only option to pursue the outstanding amount.
Following on from my July review of the fraudulent practices of "DoYouSpain.com", I note that the site of these mobsters is still active and that no criminal charges are apparently brought against them. One piece of advice to all: do not give in to the fabulous offers of car rental prices published on the internet by dubious or even villainous intermediaries. It is better to pay the price to known and recognized rental companies.
Change a little mistake in you're booking is not allowed. They don't take the phone and don't react on mails so bye bye money... tiefs they are..
Absolute disgusting site and company.
Came to pick car up after booking online.
Not the same car specifically booked and paid for. Lower version.
The cost then doubled from what I've paid on the website. No explanation on the website this would be the case. They are just a middle man. The car hire company the contract was with highlighted that they do this all the time.
Too much small print they utterly hide from you, and the sales process feels designed to be deceitful.
Wouldn't touch again with a barge-pole.
April this year I had booked a car in Madeira with Goldcar via DoYouSpain for a week and paid € 373 in advance via my credit card. When I picked up the car at Funchal airport, my credit card was also charged by Goldcar, now for €399. I thought it was deposit but it turned out to be rent + deposit. I received a €99 deposit back after returning it.
I have raised this double payment up to 3x via the response form on their website at DoYouSpain. Response: 3x an automatic reply with a promise to respond quickly. It is now June 1st and there has been no action on the part of DoYouSpain. Last time I warned that I would write a very negative review if I didn't get a response. So with these. My advice: DO NOT BOOK THROUGH DOYOUSPAIN. It will cost you twice as much and they don't respond!
I book a car with iscurance and in goldcar they told me I need to pay for another inscurance because they don't accept the inscuarance I paid here on the website doyouspain.
I think you guys should write it on the website and I feel like it was kid of fraud because I paid 2 x for insurance, for you and direclrty for the company from where I rent a car.
They told me I should aks for a refund for this iscurance which I paid for on your website.
Cancelled my booking that I wished to extend for one day. Told me to do another booking, which I did. Never got the money back for the booking that they cancelled. Emails, calls, never a return. Only help would be a lawyer.-In spain.
We arrived to no car, which as Do you Spain don't answer there phone couldn't be resolved. We ended up having to hire on the spot at the airport. On our return we were offered £200 vouchers to use for another trip, which we refused. Since then they refuse to respond to email or phone. I'd sooner burn the £200 than use Do You Spain again. Complete scammers!
I paid for the car rental and after a day I was informed that I should look for another car because that had already been rented. Of course, for the sake of the company's good name, I was offered a "special offer" which turned out to be identical to those on their website. No more amateurish. I don't know where they have a good reputation, they probably pay for it as an advertisement. Special greetings for Mrs Claire Davies for a totally thoughtless and unprofessional approach to the client.
If you need a car, don't book with them... plain as simple... they are just scam... oh and if you have a problem ask Lydia. She'll find every excuse to not help you... but she's nice... if you pay her
I have never felt so conned in my life and would suggest looking elsewhere before throwing your money away. I recently booked and paid for a car through Doyouspain and was due to collect at 22.30 hors. Our flight was delayed by almost 3 hours and we did not arrive until 01.15hrs. Flight details had been provided. When we got to their office in the terminal it was all shut up with no emergency phone numbers. We got a taxi to our accommodation ( 80 euros) and I returned to the airport the following morning ( 50 euros) to pick up the car. When I got there I was told that my order had been cancelled as I had not collected my car within 6 hours of the allotted time. I explained that we had been delayed and I was within the 6 hours, however they were closed. " THAT'S NOT OUR FAULT " I was told the order was cancelled and I was not due a refund.
I used DYS for 2 car rentals. On each occasion I could not use their website for cancellation of the type of insurance coverage I began with on the initial purchase. The site would cycle back to itself without advancing to any way to address the insurance coverage changes. I had to involve my credit card company to obtain my refunds. There is no actual customer service from DYS.
Indicative of the poor customer service is that 1 month later I received an email regarding my first insurance cancellation and the representative merely stated that I only could cancel if I make the request prior to the pickup time. I exactly did cancel before that date and time. Since, I was reimbursed via my credit card company with in days of the complaint I have no incentive to correspond back to DYS to help them correct their horrific customer service.
I book the car with full protection but anyway charged 360 eur by ok mobility. Car returned the same condition as taken, pictures done in prior for prove. No refund no response! Not recommend this company!
A disaster of a company. Zero Customer Service. Took my money and won't Refund. I'd like to smack the $#*!bags that run this place upside the head. Is there a ZERO rating option?
Just generally abysmally poor customer service.
7 of us waited 11/2 hrs. To collect our vehicle at 2 am Malaga airport. Should have been a simple job to get the keys. Directions given to where the car was parked were useless, ended up asking workmen & cleaners for help. Disappointed to be treated the way we were. A really crap experience.
Answer: They just do not answer at all! They reply just one generic mail, after that they do not answer at you mails.
