Rented but didn't get the car
March 11, 2023

Too good to be true.
I normally use my country's license in Europe but this time I was refused. No car, no money back.
Wasn't notified in the conditions and nobody to talk to thereafter.

Appalling
February 20, 2023

I recently ordered a Citroen DS3 from Tenerife ( there was 2 of us and a set of golf clubs). I arrived at the airport only to be "greeted" by possibly the rudest lady I have ever met and I got the insistence that I have to take out the very expensive insurance or give them over 1K as a deposit. They would not let me get my money didn't have a choice. They presented me with a Fiat 500 that was covered with dents and had 94K on the clock. This was a 3 week rental but after the first week the breaks started to make a grinding noise and the brake pedal went soft. The engine warning light also came on. I had to call a recovery truck and hang around for the car to be recovered. I said I wanted my money back as they wanted me to go to the airport (and waist another day of my holiday). This was all booked thru Doyouspain. Trying to get any form on help from them is impossible. They are still advertising cars and help which they know isn't true.

Warning
January 30, 2023

Warning! This business wholesales to actual car rental companies and will charge you in full for a car rental with little to no possibility of modifying your reservation. They provide no customer support and make it very difficult to contact them. I was refused a car rental that I was charged for after arriving at my destination and was refused a refund by DoYouSpain. Go directly to the rental companies.

Doyouspain is a scam
January 22, 2023

Doyouspain scammed me out of $391.00. I rented a car through them. When I went to pick it up 4 hrs later than I could, the rental had given my car away. It's fine I was late, so I had to rent another car and pay that company Goldcar a new rental price. However, doyouspain would not return any of my money I had paid for the week $391. They charged the whole amount even though I did not get a car. They robbed me.

We had a bad experience with DoYouSpain car rental broker. Our booking was to pick up a car at Tenerife South Terminal at 6 pm on Saturday 24 December. We arrived at 7.15 pm to find that the car rental office OK Mobility was closed. This was a shock, we had 50 miles to go to our destination and DoyouSpain telephone support was closed as was OK Mobility. This was despite the DoyouSpain website stating that there would be a 'courtesy period' if you are late and the OKMobility website stating that their offices opening hours are Mon to Sun 7 am to 10 pm.
Thankfully the bus driver and assistant that took us to the offsite car rental office brought us back to the airport and eventually managed to rent another car however only for two days at €205. We thought that on Monday we could travel back to the airport and pick up the car from OKMobilty. Unfortunately, NOT. We were told by OKMobility that we would need to call DoyouSpain and have the booking modified. DoyouSpain refused so we had to hire another car after some desperate web searching for the remaining time of our stay. That cost €498.
I contacted DoyouSpain for a refund since they had not provided us with a car but they refused stating "after reviewing the booking, we can confirm that it was made for pick up at 18:00, not 19:00. We apologise for any inconvenience caused but this is a non-refundable offer and we are unable to offer a refund."
I've hired many cars at international airports and always find Car Rentals understanding and flexible about pick-up times (within reason) but not DoyouSpain or OKMobility. As you can imagine I had several calls to DoyouSpain throughout this ordeal and the attitude was uncaring and unhelpful, employees clearly not happy with their work despite their Website niceties. OKMobilty was not much better either.
A €375 car hire ended up costing €1078.
I have submitted a complaint to the European Car Rental Conciliation Service (ECRCS) because although we were late with the pickup DoyouSpain behavior is unjustified.
So much for the Christmas spirit

Office closed early on NYE and I was left stranded with a 10 year old at Alicante Airport, no answer on emergency numbers. Had to hire from another car hire operator that was still open 300euro cost. Tried to claim compensation from DoyouSpain and the customer service after care was appalling and they will accept no responsibility or offered any compensation

Absolutely disgusting
January 12, 2023

I have used this company for many years and have always had a positive response even when things go wrong…. As they do!
However their latest '$#*! show' has told me that loyalty is totally overrated.
My son had an allergic reaction which required me to take him to a&e some 13 hrs before my rental started. As a committed mother of 4 I moved my flight to later that day to make sure my son was ok. I contacted DYS to inform them and also the supplier. I was told to produce proof which I did thanks to my 19year old son driving to the hospital whilst o was in transit. I sent it all and was reassured that as long as I was not more than 6 hrs late the rental would be fine (we paid upfront). When I arrived well within the 6 hrs grace, I was the.man told by the rudest person ever that the car was no longer available (Goldcar). How could it not be available when I had booked for 5 days and was there within time frame?
Do you spain have refused a refund due to the fact I put it in my partners name and he is not blood related to my child.
So basically Gold car now have £120 of our and will then hire this car to someone else for xxxxx pounds.
I have always stood by do you spain but I'm afraid that's it for me.
Disgusting

Vorsicht!

Be very wary of using this company. We were late arriving to collect our hire car but there was none available at the airport despite paying in advance and they would not refund the payment. Will not use them or Alamo ever again.

I would like to file a complaint against DoyouSpain Company (address: Rda.del Millars, 190 Bis, ******* Castellon de la Plana, Spain) which is refusing to reimburse me for car rental that didn't happen.
On September 17,2022 I made a car reservation in Malaga for October 18 with DoyouSpain and paid 356.40 euro. When I arrived late at the Alamo desk in Malaga on 18/10/2022 (due to flight delay I don't control), I was told that my order was canceled (their policy is to hold cars only for 1 hour after the estimated arrival time) and there is no car for me. The Alamo agent told me that because of the cancellation there was no transaction made and Alamo didn't receive any money from DoyouSpain They even supplied me with an email stating-no transaction) I asked the agent to call DoyouSpain Office to check if I'll get the renting money back and when she called, she was told that I'll be getting it back. Because I didn't receive any money, I contacted the company several times and each time they referred to my purchased insurance "Platinum Excess Waiver" (which I also purchased as extra insurance), completely ignoring my request for reimbursement for the car rental. It is obvious that the company is using "tactics" that will allow them not to refund me. I am sharing my experience with other peopole so they will avoid doing business with DoyouSpain.
I hope that someone in the company who may read this review and has some conscience will make it possible to receive the car rental fee (356.40 eur) which was never used.

Booked 28 days car hire with company OKMobility sept-Oct 2022 through DoyouSpain website. Worst experience ever in hiring cars at Alicante airport ( Been hiring cars here for over 16 years). Car in v poor condition on pick up- rental agreement with no Terms and conditions, pre-existing damage to car not marked on the rental agreement, also some damage recorded on the agreement was actually on the other side of the car! Staff refused to update or amend or add the existing unrecorded damage to the contract, told to take pictures/video of the entire car- black car in dimly lit car park at 10.00 at night!,returned the car- was checked by OK mobility staff, told all Ok. Asked for receipt to confirm satisfactory return- not forthcoming! 2 days later 200 euro charge to credit card, no communication whatsoever from the company. Completely outrageous behavior. No response by Okmobility to phone calls emails etc. finally got brokerDoyouSpain company to pursue with Ok to provide explanation... charge for damage -scratch to wheel rim! Totally unacceptable practices on every level. How can a customer be expected to sign a rental agreement at collection which is entirely inaccurate and incomplete? How can a charge be made to a customer 2 days after the car was returned and signed off as fine? Tried to resolve with Doyouspain and Okmobility- neither interested in addressing the matter with anything other than a minimal response- and confirmation of the charge- no evidence of damage provided. Totally unreasonable, unscrupulous and untrustworthy behavior- I would warn other customers not to use these outlets which would appear to be devoid of any basic sense of integrity. Furthermore, customers should purchase annual car hire excess insurance in the UK ( about 40 pounds rather than the highly inflated cost of additional insurance charged by hire companies), to protect against damages or arbitrary charges to clients not purchasing additional insurance cover added by companies to enhance profits. Who needs this treatment when traveling or on holiday!

Total Scam
December 6, 2022

Their super cover is a scam and Firefly charged me again for over 180€ for nothing! And the worst part is that the employee lied to me and added this additional insurance without letting me know and she said that I would be refunded anyway. Complete lie!
Never rent with Doyouspain nor Firefly!

Its Web page contradicts what you later find when you arrive at the rental company's counter. Then doyouspain washes its hands and leaves you stranded, having to pay all the additional costs, which contradicts what they offer on their main Web page. Please, just be very carefully, lots of hidden traps.
Thanks for reading and listening. Booking Ref.:

Booked a car through doyouspain.com for 10 days in Majorca. Added insurance at 6e a day and a toddler car seat all in all should have came to 320-330e based on prices given on doyouspain.com. When I picked up car in Majorca I was told a deposit would be taken for fuel for the car and once I returned the car I would have the 'blocked' amount released and no payment would be taken.

Overall over 540e was charged and I expect to receive a refund of 180e of the blocked amount for fuel. Turns out I was charged nearly 200e for premium insurance, which I never asked for or was ever explained to me. Thats 200e for a 10 day car hire. Absolutely disgraceful and the customer service received is nothing short of terrible with no responsibility taken and blame put elsewhere. 200e extra charged that I can ill afford but they don't care. Terrible experience. Will never use again and recommend against anyone using this company

DO NOT USE
November 3, 2022

DO NOT USE. Through no fault of our own we lost our booking.

We had a hire car booked in Tenerife South for collection on the 22nd October around 1pm. In order to get there we had connecting flights through Lisbon however because of a software update in Portugal our flight was delayed and we missed the connecting flight. As there were no more flights we needed to source alternatives which took us to Tenerife North (south was impossible) but it was a late arrival. Ok, that's the back story.

On the 22nd we kept trying to call DoYouSpain to explain what had happened but the phone just rings and rings and rings, nobody ever answers. I sent an email to DoYouSpain but to this day nobody has replied. I got the "somebody will contact you shortly" email but nothing since and yes, I have checked my junk.

We arrived very late into Tenerife North and had to get a taxi to where we were staying, far too late to go to the South airport for the car as I'm sure the office would be closed. So, the next day I set off on the bus to get the car from the other airport...

When I got there, there was another family in front of me having issues with the rental company, however their plight sounded very similar to my own. They also had hired a car through DoYouSpain but had missed the collection due to delayed flights but the hire car company refused to honour the booking so I was not looking forward to talking to them.

The hire car company did not care, they simply kept telling me that the booking was now cancelled because I'd not arrived on time and there was no chance of a refund, my only option was to hire another car with them. When i said I've booked a car for 7 days, why does collecting my car on day 2 make a problem, i've hired it for 7 days?!?!? I was just told to take it up with DoYouSpain as it's "not our problem"

So I again tried to call DoYouSpain and yes, you've guessed it, nobody answered the phone using the number the hire car company gave me which was a different number.

This company is simply a scam job, they'll take your money and just disappear. Trust me, do not use them, they may come up cheap and you're thinking you have a bargain, but any slight hitch and you've lost your money and your car.

In the end I hired another car through a different company, so I've had to pay for 2 cars to just drive one of them.

I'm sure i'll get some reply about reading "terms and conditions" but this just garbage as I didn't miss the booking because of any fault of my own as funnily enough I can't control Lisbon airspace. Sometimes companies can't hide behind corporate garbage, they should have contingencies in place through "no fault" missed bookings.

October 28, 2022

We have prepaid our booking. Our flight got delayed for 1,5 hours.
Once arriving to the desk, we were told that our booking was canceled, support said there is nothing they can do, and hung up!
We were left at 9pm in the airport without a car with baby.
