DHgate is a sophisticated and well organized hub connecting western buyers to Chinese sellers and manufacturers. They provide assurances by being a neutral party that protects both parties and helps to narrow the culture gap by providing baseline transaction requirements and parameters that keep everything as transparent as possible. There are many excellent manufacturers/sellers in China producing high quality goods and providing good customer service. DHgate helps bring two markets together for great benefit to both parties. While the overall performance of the website is very good, there is always room for improvement.
One of the challenges when using open markets and bringing two cultures together is having to sift through countless poor sellers/manufacturers to find good ones. DHgate has done a great job providing a framework, but the problem remains that there are so many poor products/services to go through before finding good ones. This inherent problem is acceptable in order to keep the doors open to potentially great manufacturers and sellers, but more in depth methods of transparency and evaluation would help on customers in the US/EU/etc. Determine which sellers to use. DHgate already has systems in place showing buyers information about sellers from buyer feedback, but more information would be useful in addition to the currently provided rating system. A recommendation I have to improve buyer experience would be to include more information about sellers. Information about seller response rate to buyer inquiries could be automatically gathered simply by noting average time of reply to initial inquiry from buyers. This would be more informative and objective than simply averaging the 5 star review system. It would also remove the statistical bias from human feedback. This kind of transparency is appreciated by western customers because it is totally objective and simple statistical data. I also believe that knowing response rates are being recorded will encourage better customer service from sellers. It's a win win.

I ordered a dress for my daughter 3 months ago, i gave themall the information they needed.im waiting for it in the mail (as they said id get it by a certain date i needed it by). I call them they say we need the size we haven't made it yet. So i give them the size for the 6th time. I still wait no dress. After emailing them alot they say that they had to stop making the dress because they didnt know if i needed it by the weekend. I explained to them i still wanted the dress they said well do you need it by this weekend. What a stupid question. I told them i wanted it anyeays just make it & ship it. Well here i am no dress, no refund. I wouldnt order for thease people. DO NOT ORDER..
I've had really great success with DHgate and I plan on using it for a long time. The prices are great and affordable and the only thing I would change is shipping times but you can't help customs. Overall I've had a great experience with this service.

Based in the Netherlands I have bought now about 10 items from DHGate. All were very or quite cheap and all of them came with free shipping cost. Most of the bought items arrived in the condition as described in the product pages. Three of them arrived faultly. One webcam had its standard broken, one jump starter didn't have all Voltage options as described and one mobile phone was used instead of new. In those cases I got an excellent mediation by DHGate. If you provide evidence of the faultly product they will arrange the right solution for you. In case of the webcam the seller sent me another one. In case of the jump starter I proposed a partly refund, which was granted. And in case of the mobile phone I received a full refund. The good thing about their conditions is that when a product arrives faulty you don't need to take te trouble of returning it to China. So although there is the possibility of encountering a scammer DHGate will protect you. The website is user friendly. It has a good overview of your account and the status of your purchases. Very many products can be found on the website. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because the reception of faulty items. The protection is very good, but I nevertheless received faulty items, which always comes with a dissapointment.
We started with a few small order, and thank good we did so one supplier we received unsellable boxes and she told us it's our problem amazing reply from a completely unpolite supplier who don't even know how to deal with customers, how on earth are we suppose to trust you with our business and order if a small order a supplier can't handle and can't talk properly with a customer
Disappointed with your site. I ordered 2 dolls based on photos & descriptions on the add & I paid top dollar for the items. When received the first one it was cheap and disgusting and not even worth 5% of what I paid for it. Went straight to the bin. I thought with massive website like yours will be more control. I don't think this will happen with ebay or aliexpress & that where I will & keep shipping. Good luck with losing more customers. By the way the other order hasn't arrived yet & I don't care because I know its rubbish
When I receive my item it was badly damaged and I contacted the seller twice and never received a response... my item needs to be replaced, I will never buy again from this seller
Tried DJ gate for the first time. Waited many days for my item. When I contacted the seller to find out when they were going to ship they gave me a refund. Why are they advertising things if it's not for sale. Not impressed. I wouldn't waste your time use a real company.
I order some fairings back in May after them sending me the wrong color and wrong size for my motorcycle the only I could get a refund was to pay 120 shipping back to them and that was over a month ago I still haven't got my refund back and they keep giving me the run around. I have sent several emails and no response and also they don't have a contact number to reach them anymore I guess they had too many complaints. But I'm for sure going to let every media site on the internet know to be caution when order from the site. I wish I could post the emails and lack of communication to show you guys how serious I am. So I will be posting this several times a day until I get tired and on each site as well. Since they want to steal my 500 dollars Ill make sure people know how not to purchase from this site!
My son was looking on-line for hi-top sneakers that weren't so expensive (he had to pay whatever amount over $100) but cool and different. We order one pair last year, got an email saying it was shipped, it's in customs, here's tracking number. The link didn't work, we never got the shoes. Filed complaint with my credit card company and they took care of it. Searching the web this year he found another pair he loved. I said "not DHGate" but his friend ordered same pair in diff color and got them, no problem. They were very cool so I agreed to try again. Seller sent wrong color. Took it up with DHGate resolution and they ended up getting seller to refund $55 of the $92 I paid and we kept the sneakers. Return shipping would have been $22 with NO tracking or $55 with tracking. Seller was supposed to pay that but I wasn't taking the risk! Resolution agent was great but it's just too much time/hassle. Will never order from there again.
