Alpine receiver + 6 speakers took 12 hours for handyman to install. Alpine bluetooth voice didn't work, so replaced mic & voice didn't work, then replaced Alpine receiver & voice still didn't work. Bought Sony DXS B700 receiver and dash kit didn't fit my 2007 Camry. Having Best Buy do installation.
Spent an hour with a representative and figured out what I needed when it came to the top supposedly bosses they interfered and they screwed up the whole order now I have to wait an extra week to get my system just because of their boo boo interference they should just stay out of it and let the rip take care of the order they have no business interfering too bad I have to put one star but they don't even rate that
I have a 1996 Chevy Astro Van that needed a upgraded Radio and Back up Camera Mirror. These Guys are by FAR the BEST Company I've Ever Dealt with. Product is Superior and they are very helpful and Nice to talk to.I will always recommend them to every one I Know...!
I needed to replace the stereo on my 2012 Jeep Liberty. I bought a Boss unit from Crutchfield w/ Backup camera. I hadn't worked on a car stereo in over 30 years, so I was hesitant. Audio shops wanted $800 and up to install one. I got the Boss stereo, adapter plates and wiring harness for $300.00. Paid $25.00 to have them prewire the harness. Best money I ever spent. I had everything installed in under 2 hours. That included a few calls to the customer support line. Customer support was the best I have experienced. Thank you to the whole Crutchfield team.
I'm leaving this review for Crutchfield's AWFUL choice to use UPS for a shipper. I was told I would receive the ordered package today, 12/30/2022, and ordered 2 days ago. I saw the tracking update to within 30 miles from my delivery address around 6AM today. I saw at 1030AM that the status has changed to "incorrect address". I called UPS, they told me that I need to call the sender (crutchfield) to have them "request" the change of address. I did, then asked how long to take effect. "24 hours". Hours later, no update. I've called UPS since, they tell me it will be delivered within a day, but that is impossible. The tracking status is the same (address change requested) and tomorrow is new year's eve. Forget it. Will go somewhere else for my car audio from now on. Suggest others do the same. All because of a simple TYPO and that crutchfield made the horrible decision to use UPS.
Called with stereo install? 5 times and we got everything going as it was complex install,,,,,,
Ordered the BDI 8173 console, which never arrived and cannot get refund until item is located and sent back to BDI (I'm out the money for now, no timing for whether I can even get over $3k back from Crutchfield). Crutchfield, BDI, nor the shipper (CEVA) take any responsibility. Please know that depending on where you live, Crutchfield/BDI will ship through a company called CEVA. Please read the reviews for CEVA before deciding to purchase anything from BDI through Crutchfield as you are taking a significant risk of losing time or money as a customer.
As many who have had items delivered from CEVA can attest, you take the personal risk as a customer that i) product is damaged, ii) product never arrives or arrives days to potentially weeks and months past the expected shipping date (yes no joke, please consider my experience and that of countless others who have taken the time to post reviews), and iii) before anything arrives at your home, you must proactively track down and contact CEVA before anything is scheduled, a very time consuming and cumbersome process that may take multiple 30+ minute long phone calls -- CEVA will not proactively reach to you to schedule delivery, even if the item is waiting in their warehouse.
As a consumer, you will also not be able to actually contact BDI. You are dependent on Crutchfield to resolve issues with BDI, which is an absolute circus. As a result, if there are problems, you are likely to be the one responsible for tracking your item down to get a refund. In fact, almost every conversation with Crutchfield involve instructions for what I should do next (instead of what they would do to resolve the issue and get back to me).
Crutchfield comes through again. I needed a new audio solution for my open concept living room. The home theater receiver and surround speakers just weren't cutting it because of the lack of walls and the high vaulted ceilings. Sound was getting lost. Crutchfield suggested a sound bar solution that projects the sound at the seating positions. What a huge difference! I love that they listened to my issues and found the right solution for me rather than just trying to sell me something.
I'm an electrical engineer, but that does not make me an expert on all things electric or electronic. And it seems that no matter how much research you do on your own, you can't really tell which product is the best for your particular goals and situation. And do you really want to spend many hours or days researching a purchase? I don't have time for that.
That's where Crutchfield comes in. I recently got recommendations on 6x9s, subwoofers, and an amplifier in an online chat with a Crutchfield agent. It was a 100% better experience than visiting my local CarToys store, where they basically wouldn't say anything except "bring the car in".
There is value in product knowledge and recommendations, and Crutchfield is good at that, yet they still manage to be price competitive. I've upgraded an F250 to a new CD player for less than $50 total with Crutchfield - and I'm still enjoying it. They have wiring and instructions that make installation really easy. I'm very impressed.
Crutchfield poor service after the sale
Purchased new higher end Denon receiver because of the tech support services available. Had problems with our receiver from the beginning with no sound at times. Crutchfield was not willing to exchange the three week old unit and had no solution to solve the problem other than to ship our new receiver into a service center at our expense. We could have and now know, should have just purchased the Denon receiver from place with better price as Crutchfield customer support isn't worth anything but a friendly person to socialize with on the phone
They have no category for a Dodge Ram replacement radio. Kind of pointless if I can't buy the radio that fits my vehicle.
I personally have not done business with Crutchfield. I considered it. Until I could not find an email address online. Shady at best. It's simply not there. And they ship via USPS. Also a red flag. I refuse to do business with any online retailers who utilize the USPS. It's regrettably a bad idea doing business with any retailers who use USPS. You will likely not get your package on time. Or in working condition. Rather a box of broken parts. I'll buy elsewhere.
Have been waiting three weeks for my order and it still hasn't came. Called customer service today and they said they don't know what happened and would send an email. I will just go with another supplier for future purchases to avoid the way longer then quoted shipping time and the poor customer service that couldn't give me any insight of my order.
At one time they had great service and I would do business with them anytime, but those days are over. I placed a simple order that should have been shipped out in a day or two, but yet they finally shipped it out the day before it was scheduled to be delivered and send out a email that day stating it will be delivered late. When I contacted them, they said it will be there on time and do not see any issues with it.
I uses to like doing business with Crutchfield, but not anymore, it's almost like they don't care about the customer anymore.
I have bought many stereo from different places and installed them in different vehicles over the years.
All of this is my personal opinion.
Definitely won't be using crutch field again unfortunately even though they have a lot of useful things, the reason I say this is because of there 2 day shipping is not 2 days I ordered a battery on Wednesday around lunch time and everything was good I thought it was odd that by dinner time I still had not gotten a shipping confirmation but just assumed maybe they hadn't updated it I went to bed excited and ready for the Texas heat wave car audio show this weekend as the 2 day shipping was perfect. Then I wake up Thursday morning excited and check the shipping status and still hasn't shipped I then get a text that they need to confirm my order they needed a home phone or work phone number of the address listed…. A land line…. I can't even remember ever having a land line at any house ever in my entire life so I found that odd to be a requirement luckily I just gave them an old address instead even though neither make sense in my mind and I never have heard of anything like this but I comply and still excited assume everything is fine and I'll be able to make the show with my car audio build for the first time and this battery is the last component the shipping status now says confirmed and says Friday delivery still as I ordered it mid week but I doubt that and assume that Saturday it will come which is not ordered but still fine unfortunately now due to this weird requirement to confirm my order I will receive my order Monday and miss the entire show and wasted the money I paid to order the tickets to enter the show so now with that they have lost my business thanks for the battery but I ordered from them due to the fact of 2 day shipping which is actually 4 day shipping thanks to that step of the process which to this day I still don't understand and the cherry on top is UPS doesn't even say they've gotten it yet just label created
Bought a resto stereo to replace old factory stereo. Got stereo that was missing screws originally was told to buy them at hardware store, but they don't handle that small of screw. Called back and restro was supposed to send me the screws 3 different times they sent me nuts and washers, now because it's been more than 60 days I'm stuck with. $300.00 radio I'm missing parts to put together a d can't use. Never buy again from here or restro
I have been purchasing TVs, camcorders and stereo equipment from this company since they opened their doors. They have the best technical support team on the planet. Where else could you go 10 years after purchasing a stereo component and still get excellent technical support? I had a 15 year old stereo receiver that I had long since lost the manual for and they helped me with some connection issues. Prices are very competitive, but even if they may be slightly more than some discount shops, the lifetime technical support is worth every last penny!
I recently ordered some Klipsch floor speakers to replace a set that were too small for our space. When they arrived, they turned out to be far too large for our space -that was on me, I couldn't really appreciate their size until I physically saw them.
I returned them and proceeded to have the best customer service and support I have ever experienced with a company. At ever step, Crutchfield techs and service reps guided me in the right steps. Their assistance was invaluable; doing things they didn't need to do, and certainly not obligated to do -and I only mention it because I don't think I've ever had customer service of this caliber, before.
I cannot recommend them enough and I look forward to doing business with Crutchfield again.
I have made business with many shops and many places where customer service is a pretty sad experience and I think it is important to mark when the services offered are out of normal. The website is top-tier (one of the best I have used), the phone line is quick, reliable AND the agent friendly and effective. One of the best consumer experience I have had in a long time. I would buy there again and will definetely recommend.
I the past, I had purchased products from Crutchfield. NEVER any problems with ANYTHING! Ordered today and if you're in or near Lancaster, Pa. YOUR ORDER WILL BE IN. YOUR HOME, THE VERY NEXT DAY. I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT! Outstanding! NOBODY, ANYWHERE, ANYTIME will EVER BEAT Crutchfield. NOBODY!
Answer: I've bought outlet item for many years now and never had an issue or even needed to return. I'm pretty sure you can return if not happy with it. It says it under the price after you click on that item I believe
